Every single bite was heavenly! And the service absolutely delightful! Make sure you get a taste of the Malva Pudding! We loved it so much we had it twice!

We had a corporate event here last night which ran smoothly from start to finish because of the fantastic staff, the service was next level. The food and drink was amazing. Biggest disappointment in London a South African restaurant that has the poorest range of African food. The burgers are from Surrey Hills 20 miles away😂 The online set menu doesn’t exist anymore and was stopped a year ago the waitress told us. The steak was just standard the fries were extra & the sauces are extra absolutely no atmosphere music was British pop. I was really looking forward to some fantastic South African food but really didn’t get any for £70 for 2 lunches

The waitress (unfortunately we didn't get her name but she sounded Spanish!) was very pleasant and helpful. We had the 5 item cheese board, which isn't listed below. Very much enjoyed getting to choose our cheeses & the final board was delicious

I went to Vivat Bacchus recently for business dinner. I worked close by and always wanted to try and it was great selection. Service was very friendly and they let us take our time. Started with biltong then went to cheese and meat board. I had ostrich steak and first time I had tried ostrich in that way. Very tasty. Good selection of wine. South African food is focused on the grill and this place does not disappoint. I will be back.

We had a fantastic meal here tonight, the food, atmosphere and wine were brilliant! The chicken and sirloin steak in particular were delicious, as was the Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon. The staff were also super friendly!

We had a very pleasant experience at the London Bridge restaurant. The manager and hostess were attentive, friendly and professional. The courses arrived with good timing and the food was as expected; good quality and the Cote de Boeuf cooked perfectly. I have dined at the Farringdon restaurant several times but will definitely be back at the Bridge.

A great spot for dinner and a glass (bottle) of wine! Hidden away a bit means it's less busy than some of the other restaurants in the area, but still a great vibe inside. Friendly and attentive staff, great tasting food, gluten free options and an amazing wine list. You can't go wrong.

Good food, but service was extremely elusive. It took an age to even get a drinks order taken, despite our best efforts to politely attract attention. The same for getting the bill. Granted that staff were very pleasant, they must have been simply overwhelmed. These delays made me feel that Vivat Bacchus may not be very suitable for a business lunch.

Lovely restaurant with friendly service. It took a long time to bring the mains while we were the first. Crocodile was the best although was a starter. The rest of the food not exciting although rather expensive for what it provided.

Geweldig diner! We kozen voor mixed grill met 3 soorten vlees. Allemaal topkwaliteit en zeer smaakvol. Ook de mogelijkheid om frietjes en aardappel te nemen. Ook deze waren prima klaargemaakt! Zeer vriendelijke en vlotte bediening. Restaurant ligt wat afgelegen van de hoofdweg. Binnen is het zeer gezellig! Volgende keer in Londen komen we terug. Wij zijn fan!

Last came here 2 years ago and it wasn’t as good. Nice setting and ambience but …. Some lovely wine and good service however quality of food was poor and expensive for what it is. We had steak - but mine was tough, not that tasty and overcooked. Will give it a miss from now on

We have eaten here on several occasions now and the food and service are excellent. The staff are very knowledgeable with both the menu and wine list, so it’s nice to take their expertise on board and try things you wouldn’t normally try. A must for us is the cheese room. You can go in here to sample some cheeses, then choose the ones you like for your cheese and biscuit dessert.

Good atmosphere - it was busy when I dined there with my friend but ambience was really good. Everyone was happy. Will pay a visit again for their other grill items as well as fine wine and cheese next time! Pity that they don't have boerewors!

Très bon restaurant à deux pas de la Tamise entre Tower Bridge et London Bridge. On y mange de l’excellent viande et l’établissement est doté d’une belle carte des vins. Attention le note est un peu salée avec 12,5% de service non inclus dans le prix de départ.

A very enjoyable evening of really delicious food and attentive service. We were a party of 3 persons, and a mix of vegetarian, non diary and meat and all of us had a good choice of dishes. The only downside was the wine - which were expensive for what we had. But 100% thumbs up on the food. We shared starters of Mushroom and beetroot frikkadelle completely vegan - yet full of flaour. and the Chakalaka Burrata, poached pear, jerusalem artichoke, toasted hazelnuts was amazing. Highly recommend our mains as well - The Bobotie Spiced Cauliflower Steak, macadamia nut ‘cream’, red bush tea raisins was generous in portion and very tasty and filling. The Wild Mushroom Risotto, parmesan, wild mushrooms, truffle oil was exploding with flavour, and comfort food galore. The Karoo Style Braised Lamb, maple glazed vegetables, chestnut jus was tender and brilliant.

What is South African cuisine? Here it just seems to be great cooking of prety recognisable stuff peppered with species names like snoek, ostrich and alligator. Two generous pots of biltong and exceptional smoked almonds to fiddle around with, then s starter of carpacchio that was silky smooth but real raw meat, not those shiny vinyl discs you tend to get; fab grilled meat board (braii), ostrich in particular, a side of luscious beetroot in I think honey (and I don't like beetroot). Terrific whites by the glass, a surfeit of great desserts and an exhibition cheeseboard made this a treat of a lunch. I wasn't paying, but I think my host felt it was great value.

We had a fantastic evening celebration on 6 December with 16 in the party. Daniel and his team were attentive but not intrusive. Daniel was very attentive to me when I popped in the night before to check out the arrangements. We booked about two months in advance. Having 16 on the main floor worked a treat and I am sure was better than being in a full and noisy lower ground floor. The food was brilliant and the kitchen did a superb job catering for four vegetarians and waiting staff serving with minimal fuss and maximum attention. All our guests were full of compliments. I drank the Merlot (can't remember the label of red or white) which I thought was delicious and my son said exactly the same about the Sauvignon Blanc. Great job. Thanks to Daniel and his team and the kitchen

I'll start with the good (?great).... The food and wine was amazing. We all enjoyed our meal and there were some really interesting dishes. The atmosphere was great and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. Unfortunately there weren't really enough staff and we had to wait a long time for service. The staff were not great at answering questions but they tried their best. We look forward to a return visit.

Finally got around to visiting here with a voucher we had been bought from last Xmas. Great atmosphere, service and food and right next to London Bridge Station. We had some light bites, risotto, creme brulee and amarula fridge cake. All were great value, delicious and very good sized portions. Would definitely recommend and will be back in future.

Had lunch here. Burger was ok, I thought £3.5 for extra cheese was a bit steep. Chunky chips where not 100% cooked through.

Vivat Bacchus is a South African restaurant mainly focused on meat and wine and you can find some real SA specialties there including Ostrich steak. You'd be pleased to hear that the OSTRICH steak was absolutely delightful and we even enjoyed it more than their staple ribeye on the bone! . The starters were equally amazing, BURRATA was extremely creamy and I never had it before with fruit. The Braai Broodjie Croquettes had a creamy center and were served with chutney. . Don't miss the desserts and try their MALVA CAKE which is very similar to British Sticky Toffee Pudding. And of course, they specialise in wine, so make sure to have a glass. If cheese is your thing, you can pick yours in their cheese room too. . Definitely in my top 5 dining experiences this year. Last week we visited Vivat Bacchus in Hay’s Galleria and had a great time. The hostess (Natasha) looked after us all evening and was fantastic. Her recommendations were spot on and we tried a few starters and mains based on these. The food was excellent and we even went on a cheeky tour of the wine room. I recommend the ribeye steak, it was cooked to perfection. Vivat Bacchus is a piece of South Africa in the heart of London. Highly recommend.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but I would say that for the expense, to come away hungry after 3 courses, the food lacked substance and quantity. The starter was good (burrata) but the risotto for main was bland and not filling at all. Be warned, the peppermint crisp is actually a glass of beige mousse! What was great was the service. The waitresses were efficient and the South African lady (manager, I believe) gave me a long handwritten note of recommendations for a South African trip we are planning for next year. I have eaten before at the Farringdon branch and enjoyed the food and wine, but I wasn't paying then so didn't have an enjoyment vs expense barometer!

Amazing place! The African cuisine is delightful. Last time, I tried the meat, but today I chose the vegetarian option, and it has been a real treat, just like it was last time. The food is amazing! The service is fantastic as well—very friendly and professional, offering excellent food advice on what to choose. Today, I was served by Viktoria, and she was fantastic. OMG such a homey and warm place to meet friends over wine, good wine that is. Tasty food, great atmosphere, amazing hospitality. Florie😊, our waitress was just amazing, beautiful lady with a kind heart. Gave us a few recommendations on what to order according to what we like. At some point it sounded like she was recommending everything😂, lol. I don't blame her though, If we had space we would've eaten a lot. Everything is just beautiful and appetizing. Oh and Joy (in management I think) so friendly and welcoming. We even got dessert wine on the house. Had never tasted dessert wine and from now on its definately my go to dessert👌🏽 Was meeting my friend/sis Azile and she chose the place, great choice and definately gonna be a regular. 👌🏽❤️🤌🏽

Upon arrival, you're pleasantly greeted before you're seated. The restaurant is very easy on the eyes with its cheese and wine sections fitted into the decorative works. The menu is different from your everyday restaurant, including different types of meat. The steak was definitely valued for money, and the sea bream tasted perfect. Great service and care by the waitress who served us from 13:30 onwards. I'll definitely be returning to try a different course.

The standout for me was the service, all the staff were brilliant! Natasha in particular was great and really helpful. We arrived about 30 mins early but this wasn't an issue and they seated us straight away. You should definitely try the Biltong & Dröewors (we ended up ordering these twice) I ended up having the Short Rib to start, don't even look at the other starters, this is it, this is what you came for :) It was delicious!!! For the main, I had the Lamb Saddle which was also delicious, portion wise I could have more but it was still great. I don't drink but my friend really enjoyed the wine selection. I was hoping to see some Boerewors on the menu but no luck. Regardless I highly recommend Vivat and would 100% come back here.

The service was so friendly and attentive. They answered any questions we had about the different types of meat and sauces. The iberico pork chop was actually the best pork I’ve ever had highly recommend it as well as the ostrich steak and beef short rib. Everything was such good quality and flavourful

I came here for a birthday dinner and it was nothing short of phenomenal! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even went as far as to explain all of the items on the menu, thanks! Starters were delicious, however the mains were disappointing, the side salads looked as if they were from a tesco mixed salad bag, and the service was slow. Nice outdoor atmosphere and good selection of wine

Great location, across from London Bridge train station at Hayes Galleria This is a lovely private place, just off the main road. We had a wine 🍷 tasting session as part of a hen party. It was really good, very enjoyable. A good selection of wines to taste, white, red, a sparkling blush rose and plenty of sparkling water to clean the palate in between. The session included a selection of olives, nuts, bread, crackers and cheese. The staff were lovely, very helpful and the wine sommelier was excellent! The dinner menu, looked enticing and had wild meats to try such as crocodile. I had delicious sea bass, with greens and potatoes for dinner. A very enjoyable time was spent here. I will definitely come here again.

After the hussel of Borough Market, the calm of Vivat Bacchus courtyard seating in the early spring sunshine was a relief. With The Shard towering above us, we wiled away the afternoon drinking red wine and gin from South Africa with an anti-pasta board of cheese and meats. The staff were attentive and made the day very enjoyable. Finished off with a fabulous dinner inside which set us up for the trip up The Shard to watch the sunset over London.
