Wonderful food and superb bottle of Rainbow's End Cabernet Franc shared over lunch. Very accommodating for dogs too! Daniel was a wonderful host and Antonino was very attentive. Service was very quick and dishes were presented well

Really good food and service. Nice atmosphere. The only draw back is because of our dietary restrictions, we can only have 2 of there mains one appetizer and no desserts. Thus we are forced to eat the same dinner over and over again. I wish they catered to this issue more. If so we would eat there again and again. But I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good dinning experience.

Fantastic, friendly, helpful staff. Food was a substantial portion cooked to perfection. All the drinks and cheese you could possibly want. Interesting SA variants of classic cocktails. Only critique; the chips could have been cooked longer. Would recommend. I will be coming back

Visited first time today. Everything we’ve ordered (scallops, ostrich steak, lamb shanks and some vegetables) was amazing. Great wine list, beautiful interior and service. A little bit pricey but honestly worth it. It was busy by 6pm on Thursday probably better to book a table.

Amazing food! We had 4 different main meals & all were exceptional , reminded me of home . The restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday night so the atmosphere wasn't the best therefore it could do with some light background music . We had 3 different waiters/ waitresses within a space of 1.5 hours & they didn't give the friendly service we were expecting going to a South African restaurant. Left this feedback so that the owner could improve in these areas .

Cute small restaurant with a great selection of wines and grilled meats, as well as a selection of modern mains. We had some of the grilled meats with some side salads which were all delicious. Don’t be hesitant to try something new here as the quality of the food is fantastic. I recommend the Boereworst. The malva pudding dessert is excellent too. The servers were friendly and happy to advise on the menu. They were sometimes a little slow, and unfortunately we waited a while for the nibbles (olives and biltong, so no cooking required), which came right before the mains, when we would have preferred to have them brought with the wine so we can nibble while we wait for the food. All things considered, this is a small complaint though, as everything else was really good, and the food and atmosphere was great!

Very nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food. The lamb was to die for and so was the south african cabernet sauvignon we ordeered.

Vivat Bacchus is one of the best restaurants I have been to in London Bridge. The South African food and wine were incredible and the service was fantastic. I'm celiac and they had lots of gluten-free options and were very knowledgeable about allergens.

We were served by Graham who was wonderful. Attentive and charming. We look forward to coming back!

Delightful - mouthwatering dishes, great friendly service, you could almost feel the Cape sunshine, and taste it in the good selection of wines.... be careful of the cocktails, they may be adictive! Looking forward to going back again soon

Excellent food - the scallops with boabab roots and the crocodile goujons were delicious, as was the ostrich grill and cauliflower steak. The chocolate tart was amazing. The cheese room was a real surprise and treat. Great wine choices.

Absolutely first class! Ambience was delightful. Our waitress (whose name escapes me -apologies) was so pleasant and helpful throughout the whole evening. The food was excellent and we were invited in to the cheese room to chose are own cheeses, be careful not to sample too many or you won’t t have room for your actual cheese board ! We couldn’t fault the evening, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in London .

Our group had a nice south African lunh at Vivat Bacchus in the centre of London. The meals were nice and spicy, the staff was friendly, but the prices of a normal small glass of Chardonay or Sauvignon are with appr. 16 pounds ridiculous high.

The food is superb, the service is fantastic and the atmosphere was vibrant. Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anybody

Had a fabulous time here with the family on a Friday evening. The restaurant had a very great Friday wind down buzz. The cheese room was so much fun! My eldest can now say he has tried both crocodile and ostrich which he is happy about! Decent affordable wine list with some interesting options.

Great food & wine with friendly and knowledgeable service. Ostrich and smoke pate were highlights. Only complaint was that sides like chips were a bit measly in size given the price.

We came here a few weeks back for a business meeting, the restaurant was a bit quiet for lunch but that makes it perfect for business lunches. It was a surprise find, but I’m so glad I found it. Pearl served us, she was absolutely fantastic and had great knowledge of the wine and the food, she did an amazing job. The food was great, starters scallops were wonderful, they have a good range of meat Including crocodile and ostrich plus seafood for mains you can get a mix board of meat with different cuts to try and share. Sorry I didn’t any pictures which was a shame, the mint crisp cake is something I have never tried before and was really lovely treat- portions for desserts are big too. They also have a private room downstairs if you want to host or have a business meetings. Would highly recommend this place, the staff are a 10/10

I've wanted to come here for years but not had the chance to, even though I've sent friends and family! Finally managed to go last night with a friend of mine and had a fantastic evening. Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu, wines, and cheese. A shout-out to Graham who was an absolute gent.

Vivat Bacchus was a great first time experience. It really made us feel like we was back home in South Africa. The house red wine was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. The chakalaka could have done with a but more of a kick but we enjoyed if none the less. We will definitely coming back. However pleaee add Mash back to the menu. Victoria was a wonderful waitress, she was attentive and had good recommendations.

Nice South African restaurant with unusual meats to try. The droewors was a little drier than the South Africans at my table expected, but was followed by a delicious ostrich fillet, chicken was good and accompanied by lovely rocket and Parmesan salad. It was very quiet when we went (Saturday) so not much atmosphere to speak of, but perhaps it gets livelier in the evenings.

We had a great experience at Vivat Bacchus. The food was delicious, in particular the Wagyu carpaccio, and the service was excellent without being intrusive. I was catching up with a friend and we were allowed to do that without being hurried out. I have eaten at VB in Farringdon as well and I would recommend both.

The atmosphere and the food was amazing. Our waitress Pearl took amazing care of us and made the experience at the restaurant very special. We would like to thank her so much for her lovely service

The food was very tasty, we got to try some interesting dishes like crocodile and ostrich. However the portion sizes were small, for the high prices on the Braai menu, for it to come with no sides is quite poor. Then we added a side of chips which was a very small portion of about 6 chips. It's a shame because the food was very tasty, but we spent a lot and left feeling hungry at the end.

I chose this restaurant due to the close location of Southwark Cathederal where we were going to to see a candlelight show. This was also our first introduction to Braii. The waitress, Pearl was from SA and was so welcoming and informative, she's a great asset to the restaurant. The food was delicious (I forgot to take pics of the mains) As it was my husbands birthday we were given a complimentary glass of fizz which was really enjoyable. 2 starters, mains & 2 drinks each cost £165 not cheap but an enjoyable evening nonetheless.

I had a large corporate group dining of 12 people. They were so accommodating to our questions about drinks and food choices. The food (Braai) is perfect for large groups too! But they have plenty of options for the vegetarian in the group as well. Service is fast and attentive even though we sit outside. Highly recommend for a date night or large group dining!

Food was really good however super slow service considering the restaurant was quiet. Took nearly an hour and a half for the mains to arrive by which point we were all very hungry.

We hadn't booked, and the upstairs seating area was busy, but were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to a window table, which we had noticed from outside was free. We discussed wine options with the well-informed Maitre D, but found most of the reds a bit pricey, so we went with a pleasant Sauvignon Blanc. We had to catch the eye of the waitress to give our food order. I had the burger, which unfortunately I found to be very salty. Although I ate it with plenty of water, I mentioned it to the waitress, who then sent the Maitre D over, and they were good enough to comp it from the bill; I was surprised, and impressed; thank you! 2 mains, a side of broccoli, and the wine came to about £72.

Had a great time. Interesting menu and fairly priced, especially for London! We chose it as there were a couple in our group with dietary requirements (keto) which were accommodated by the standard menu, but we'd come again for anyone.

We arrived at 8:30pm and took advantage of the set menu. Wow amazing food and service plus great value and good wines. The rump fillet was one of the best steaks I have ever had and the Cod looked amazing. The service was attentive but not intrusive and our lovely Spanish waitress was a credit to the restaurant
