Lovely Pub for a Sunday Roast. We walked in first thing when they opened, so managed to grab a seat. Most tables have been booked, so would recommend doing so before hand. Friendly staff and really good food, I opted for the beef roast, came with, veg and cheesy cauliflower which tasted delicious. Gravy came in abundance.

Some great beer from Laine brewery in Brighton which I enjoyed. We went for Sunday lunch. Booking essential. Friendly staff but about a 50min wait for food - they were busy. Sunday roast was good but the gravy was doing a lot of work in the flavour, personally I prefer to let the meat stand out.

Came here for an event - lovely staff and vibes, absolutely would return. It was a bit cramped for the number of people we had there, but that's not really a fault of the place. I was slightly sad they didn't have a pool table, although again I understand that takes up a lot of space. The food is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend the cauliflower wings.

Easily one of the best pubs in London. Such a welcoming vibe! Reasonably priced drinks/ food. Such a friendly team. My mum has hated pubs as long as I remember but absolutely loves this one, she says it still has that old community vibe pubs used to have when she was young. Cannot recommended this pub enough!!

Wonderful from get go with friendly welcome and a friendly goodbye. Food came quickly and was generous in portion sizes and price. Beer was wide in range and poured beautifully. Will 100% be returning

Great pub but poor quality food, very salty, missing the nice bits of a Sunday roast craftily concealed by vast amounts of cabbage! Nice vege haggis, but Yorkshire pud was swimming in oil. Great atmosphere, dog friendly and nice staff earned it three stars.

One of the best Sunday roasts i have had in London, with proper thick gravy. Shame there was a lack of desserts on the menu.

Planned this Sunday roast two weeks ago, I was really hyped about it because I was really looking forward to trying their veggie haggis (even as a carnivore). When we were ordering, I found out they’ve ran out of veggie haggis… so I resorted to lamb. It was only 2pm when they ran out 😅 When me and my partner received our plates (after the rest of the table have been served ) , I found out our parsnips been replaced by cheesy cauliflower mash! I love parsnips so I was a little disappointed… and the roast potatoes been covered up by the mash which meant they’re soggy. On top of that, my roasted lamb were in scraps, while I see other table (from earlier orders) had big slices of meat. The food themselves were tasty but I was rather disappointed by the experience, and I also saw similar issues w the inconsistent servings from previous reviews. Hopefully these inconsistencies could be resolved in the future!

Sunday visit half of the tables booked for 13 30 you visit them at 12 00 and they will not sit you on the table because its pre booked. I explained, need one hour quick roast for me/wife and kid. Bar person stated 1 hour is not enough to get three roast. They are not organising seating properly not bothered with business at all.

A nice hipstery pub in a sea of old man pubs. Very lovely and artsy, with a cute beer garden too. Highly recommended! The food is pretty amazing and there’s a good selection of beer on offer. Add a few more AF ones please. Also turn down the music a bit please!!! I’m not that old but it’s too loud 😉

Wonderful, wonderful pub. Came here about 4.30 Saturday afternoon. Beautiful woody Arts and Crafts like interior. Some odd barman has a Britney Spears fetish and there's a little shrine to her behind the bar. Good music on the speakers. A bit hipster,but also the Nunhead Nappy Valley set. Very, very lovely ... it pains me to say on 14th September that there was only one, tepid ale, not very nice :-( I do hope it's a one-off, because last time I think I tried all three & they were nice!

The Old Nuns Head is a fabulous place to hang out with friends It offers a fantastic environment for drinks and food. Sitting outside in this peaceful part of South London, was a wonderfully chilled experience. I can't wait to return

Great queer fun pub in Nunhead, has everything of a classic pub with some added queerness - Britney shrine, queer staff etc. Also has some an amazing mix of events hosted upstairs from Piñata comedy show to Sid’s market ! Can’t recommend this place enough! Plus lots of outside space so perfect for a sunset pint !!

THIS PUB HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE COMMUNITY THE PUNTERS ARE RUDE AND VERY VERY NOISY. TRIED TO CALL TO ASK THEM TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN. THEY KEPT HANGING UP THE PHONE BEFORE I COULD SPEAK. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR. WILL BE REPORTING TO NOISE PATROL TO TAKE OUT AN ASBO. NO MORE CHANCES. TERRIBLE....

Nice pub! Good atmosphere, lots of seating, comfortable chairs, outdoor area in the front and back. The roasts are delicious and there are lots of fun events upstairs. Staff are nice and they let me bring in a massive tiramisu on my birthday which was delicious, by the way.

Nice to have a local pub that's still full of character and hasn't been bought out and ruined by a giant chain conglomerate. Staff are fun and super friendly and they'll let you order a combo mixed grill roast on Sundays if you ask nicely. Music is usually good with a lot of fun throwbacks tunes you're never mad to hear and they keep a giant bowl of treats out for the local dogs too. Quality spot.

Decent pub with some quirkiness to it - I admire the Britney adulation. However person serving me was moody AF...which I didn't expect considering the reputation. Beer and food respectable.

Allie created the most wonderful and personal wedding day for us. From our first initial contact with her we knew we were in excellent hands and up until the final hour of the wedding evening we were not disappointed! We didn't expect anywhere to meet our expectations for home-cooked, modern and interesting food, but Allie surpassed our expectations. All of the staff were also incredible, and always are whenever we visit the pub. The Old Nun's Head gave us a perfect day, thank you!

The most unfriendly bar I have ever been in The people working were unhelpful, unpleasant and rude. They seem to be there to make their mates feel special at the expensive of paying customers. Despite Archie's wonderful open mic - which had a great atmosphere and lovely people - this is not a place I recommend or wish to return to

Local pub. Serves normal pub food but tried nigerian jollof rice there before. It’s a great selection of beers and drinks. There is a small beer garden at the back. Function room upstairs for hiring. But the minimum spend is £4000. Free parking around the pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can get a beer and drink in the playground nearby in the summer when the children are around. Baby changing toilet also available.

Nice pub not cramped. Very good smoking area, large and covered on 3 sides plus roof.

I liked the pub - large seating areas, friendly staff, lgbtq+ friendly. However, it took ages to get served as the actual bar is small. Recommend a visit. They do drag bingo once a month, so I intend to visit again!

Been going to this pub for 15 years and this is the best it's ever been. Current owners & staff are so friendly and welcoming. It's a safe space for creatives and outsiders with an amazing vibe.

Amazing staff, great rotating food pop-ups, regular tap changes and lots of outdoor seating. My favorite pub in and around Peckham.

I could never say enough about this venue and how amazing the staff are, especially Allie and Steve. They pour so much love and commitment into their customers that every visit feels like you have been to a friend's for laughter and good times, which is not an easy accomplishment in a venue of the size. Chaotic and quirky the decor lends to the atmosphere of being a place for everyone and everyone is most definitely welcome.

The food is great, very tasty, good prices and decent selection of drinks, coffee is not there thing thought, but overall a good place to go.

Took my parents and their dog for a roast dinner and it was lovely! We were the first people in the pub as we had an early booking, but it became such a nice vibe once it started filling out. Gorgeous roast dinners with lovely cake for pudding, and the staff were all so nice too. Will definitely be back. PS - Love the Britney shelf

Not the best place for cask ale. Bland and a bit sour. Pizzas were alright. Ambiance is quite nice, so it’s sad the beer wasn’t up to it.

Amazing place and the staff is very friendly with open mic and live music on Thursday evening. Music quality is way higher than your regular live music gigs. The whole environment is very welcoming and a proper grown up place The bar staff is working very hard to make sure everyone is happy. Shona is a gem of a person, helped with directions to get to the live music area and a very warm welcome to the pub

£7 for a pint of Gamma Ray!! No thank you. Would be lovely to support local but the prices of beer are seriously off-putting.

Charming Tudor style building and a warm atmosphere inside. We'd been told it was one of the most amazing Sunday roasts ever. To be fair it was good but not outstanding, both for the presentation and the amount of meat in one of the plates that had to be topped up once the manger was made aware (apparently they run out of beef and my friend was given the scraps). The round of roasts coming out after ours looked better presented and richer. Overall it was a nice experience but maybe because of the last minute booking we weren't really given the best table either. I guess we've been unusually unlucky and they deserve another shot.

Solid old pub with good Sunday roast

Not so FIT roasts, Service at the beginning was awesome team where lovely enough to find us a table inside as everywhere was pretty much booked up, we ordered two beef roast and the food service was really quick team was really polite and pleasant but after we got our food we pretty much felt like an after thought every other table got a check back we never 2 beef roast for 36 pounds produce locally sauced but under loved beef cooked to perfection but bland and seriously under seasoned, cauliflower cheese with no cheese cremated roast potatoes looks nice at first but left underwhelmed. For a pop up kitchen charging them prices you'd think they pay attention to details.

Simply cannot beat this place. The pub is great with a brilliant atmosphere. We went for Sunday lunch and I can honestly say that it was the best roast I have had out in London. There is a reason you need to book in advance on a Sunday as it simply is great food.

Big old pub that's been nicely refurbished. Different outfits take over the kitchen on rotating nights and there's a great selection of beers.

Bar was understaffed, and service was very slow. After waiting 15 minutes to order food I was then told that they would not take my order as the kitchen was overwhelmed, and advised me to join the queue again in 20 minuets. Food was nice but cold when it eventually arrived.

We went to Nuns Head on Saturday 24th Sept. Staff and cleanliness great. BUT, the food was poor. Ordered Mussels, most of the Mussels were closed. Potatoes were good. Mentioned to staff about the closed Mussels, no response. Would love to go back, but not for food on Saturday

Probably the best Burger and chips I've ever had, served by the very charismatic Harry, brilliant bar staff.

This place is OMG - loved the music and I’m discerning but the food !!!! Veggie haggis roast - flavours swoon worthy, presentation impeccable - veggies cooked to perfection and I’m super fussy . Nice team too. LOVE
