Look no further if you love traditional Italian cuisine. Vito is the best chef, the Chianina steak beats other well known 'Steak restaurants ' hands down, the house red is lovely, jammy and rich. He has an extensive wine cellar too if you fancy something a bit different. Thanks Vito for bringing the true taste of Italy to Sheffield, we will always keep coming back.

Visited Vito's for the first time on a very quiet Wednesday night. The atmosphere in the restaurant despite it being a quiet night was comforting and welcoming. There's a really authentically Italian feel to the place which I think contributes to it's overall vibe. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. The main attraction is of course the food which was utterly sublime - as a vegetarian there were loads of choices and it was no hassle for Vito to prepare us a selection of 'small portions' so that we could try a few more dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and you can tell the care and passion that goes into not only sourcing the highest quality ingredients but also preparing them - a particular favourite was the Truffle Fondue which was just amazing. Vito himself is a lovely bloke and found the time to come and say hi to us - again contributing to a really welcoming and friendly feel in the restaurant. A great experience, thanks Vito - I'll definitely be back!

Small little Italian restaurant. Perfect for date night or small gathering celebration. Food on the pricier side because you pay for the quality of the food. Highly recommended the truffle risotto. I’ll give a pass on the seafood pasta. The fish was also good and the lamb too.

Sept 2024 update - oh my, what lovely dishes. Vitos seabass is amazing, yet to be bettered and his scallops with asparagus were superb. The cannoli were lovely with a cripy melt-in-the-mouth pastry. Highly recommended - thanks Vito for another great evening with classic Italian dishes. An update from our recent visit. The foods are superb as ever. You'll not find a better classic bruschetta and the calamari was the best we've ever tasted. The seafood linguini was lovely and the homemade sausage pizza was superb. Just left enough room for us to share the wonderful profiteroles :) Update - This visit to our favourite Italian resturant we decided to go for the Chianina Tuscan T-Bone steak (Chianina Alla Fiorentina). We've enjoyed Vitos steaks before but the T-Bone is really something else. Imported direct from Italy and has to be special-ordered at least 2 weeks in advance. Vito marinated the steak with rosemary and garlic for 2 days and cooked it to a prefect medium rare. It was the size of a large dinner plate. Carved by Vito himself and served with dressed lettuce and roast potatoes (what more do you need...). The flavour was amazing, suculent and juicy, the best we've ever tasted and that's compairing against the Chateaubriand at the best steak resturant in Manchester. We even managed to share one portion of profiteroles afterwards. Our thanks to Vito and his great staff for such an enjoyable and memorable evening. Vito's is open! This wonderful italian resturant has now reopened and we really enjoyed dining with Vito and all his great staff at the weekend. The food is as superb as before, fresh and soooooo tasty. We've already booked our next visit :) Highly recommend the classic bruchetta and the sea bass - simple dishes, but amazingly tasty!

there's no better restaurant than one where the owner and the chef is italian, this is the case, Vito is the owner and the chef at the same time, we came in the last minute but he accepted cook something special for us, i had a delicious pasta with truffle and my wife had fish in white sauce, this is a restaurant for gourmets !

Welcomed into the restaurant on arrival and seated straight away. Given plenty of time to read through the menu before ordering. Food cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic, great wine and the Canolli desserts were to die for! Overall a brilliant meal and experience.

Perfectly cooked authentic Italian food with one of the best selection of wines you could ask for, all served by warm and friendly staff. We have been coming here for many years and its always a night to remember. Highly recommended.

Fabulous! Real Italian food - not just generic "Spag Bol" and pizza although pizza is on the menu. Good specials to top an already impressive menu. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the wild boar was great (both from the specials board). The other dishes from the main menu also went down a treat. These included arancini and artichoke from the starters, seafood linguine and lobster ravioli from the mains, tiramasu and affogato to finish. Good wine to accompany the meal and a generous platter of cheese to finish for me. We visited for a birthday and though we don't live in Sheffield it would be well worth the 45 min drive to go again. Highly recommended - thank you for a fabulous meal.

A Sheffield institution. Around for over 30 years. Wonderful food and great service. Really welcoming staff. I would thoroughly recommend making the trip to Walkley to visit.

We went for a quiet Sunday dinner and it was relatively near our Air Bnb. The interior was of a classy but cozy italian restaurant. The service was lovely and the food was timely. The menu was quite extensive but everything on it sounded delicious! We had Calamari, Ravioli Aragosta, Arancini, Margherita Pizza and Melanzane Parmigiana between two of us. Whilst I would give all the food glowing reviews, our favourite was the Ravioli Aragosta (lobster), which was the best we have had! Would definitely come here again :) Thank you for a lovely evening!

I was first introduced to Vito’s 20 years ago by my wife and her family, who themselves had already been visiting a few years. Over the years our family has grown, but trips to Vito’s have remained a constant. On each visit we are welcomed into a friendly, familial environment and presented with delicious Italian fare. On our recent trip, on a Tuesday evening, we were greeted warmly by Vito. The food, as always, was exceptional and the atmosphere and service second to none. A gem of a place, and possible the best family restaurant in the City.

Hi A party of six of us attended this restaurant last evening. I would like to thank them for the excellent service and beautiful food that they served up. Everyone in our party commented on how lovely the food was. Personally, I had the capricosa gluten free pizza and can honestly say it was the one of the best I've ever had. A group of 5 of us headed to Vito's for a birthday meal and we all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! We ordered some starters to share, and mains each. I ordered a main but in a 'starter' size which I really liked, and it was the perfect portion for me! I also had the profiteroles which were phenomenal. Overall everyone really rated the food, and we will definitely be back!

Favourite restaurant in all of Sheffield. It has a such a lovely atmosphere inside which has all been done so well, with nice lighting, music and feel to the place. The staff are the nicest people and make you feel welcome the instant you walk through the door. I cannot recommend this any higher, it has the best Italian food I've ever tried with the menu making you want to order one of everything. 10/10.

Vito's is a wonderful restaurant. The staff are professional yet friendly, and Vito's cooking is authentic and delicious. They also cater well for GF options and coeliac allergies. This great restaurant has quickly become my family's favourite place to eat in Sheffield.

Vito's is simply a wonderful restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and professional, and the food is authentic yet exciting, but most importantly delicious. They are very accommodating to gluten intolerances, and their meals go down very well with young children. Quite simply one of Sheffield's hidden gems, it's my family's go-to restaurant.

Vitos has blown us away with every aspect from decor, service and food. We immediately booked again. I've never seen my other half so excited over anything as much as that calzone and my carbonara was made the Italian way without cream 🙂 service was exceptional . It was our first time trying this hidden gem. We were met with a lovely, cosy atmosphere and welcoming staff. We went for the 'Risotto Al Tartufo' starter portion, which was ample, followed by the 'Linguini Alle Capesante e Gamberi' and 'Pizza San Daniele'. The food was authentic and full of flavour. The only reason why I didn't give this restaurant 5* was due to the scallops being slightly overcooked, but otherwise everything was incredible!

We went to Vito's for the first time on the other night and it definitely won't be our last time. No pressure from the staff and really helpful when I was undecided on what whiskey to have. Such a welcoming atmosphere and the food was amazing, tasted so fresh and authentic. I spoke with the chef Vito afterwards and he is so passionate about his food which you could tell with the quality of the food that was on the plate. We are already booked in again for our next visit and are going to make this our regular spot for date nights and family meals. Would highly recommend to anyone, you will not be disappointed

Took myself out for dinner and intentionally didn't bring my phone so I could focus completely on my food. But I wish had taken photos! Waitress very friendly and helpful in helping me decide what to have from the menu. She clearly enjoys the food there which is a good sign. She also explained about the decor of the restaurant & art & photo. The restaurant has a warm homely feel inside, lovely art work, photos of owner/chef's family and fridge magnets from across the world given by his friends from their holidays. I opted for the Strascinati Con Salsiccia Lucana which the chef said is a pasta from his home city of Potenza. It was served with homemade sausage and a tomato and chilli sauce. I really enjoyed the texture of the pasta, the freshness and flavours of meat and sauce. I ordered a starter size but it was a generous portion! I also ordered Friarielli/brocoli which is a leafy vegetable more like spinach. It was cooked with garlic and chilli and served few slices of warm fresh bread. I found that the Friarielli has a quite strong bit overpowering so for me it was missing something slightly. My one suggestion was to use more chilli and garlic. Perhaps a bit olive oil and lemon on top. Although my suggestion may come across rude as I'm not a chef or Italian! The chef came up the say hello to customers and was very chatty. This made it feel like a more intimate and friendly environment I look forward to trying many more things from the menu - the waitress recommended truffle and Parma ham tortellini, risotto with gorgonzola and pear and many more dish look interesting The chef definitely puts his heart and soul into his food and restaurant !

Have been coming here for years and always had a good experience but am very disappointed today. We booked a table online last night for my birthday today. However my wife woke up this morning feeling unwell with awful morning sickness. She contacted the restaurant as soon as possible and left a voice mail to cancel and then rang again (got through before 15.30) and managed to explain the situation. However, they are insisting on charging a £44(!) cancellation fee. I understand having a charge for those who don't show up, but this is ridiculous. I won't be pre-booking a table here again and that likely means I won't be coming back which is a shame after 15+ visits over the years and supporting them with delivery during the lockdown.

3 kids and 2 adults. Highchairs available . The place is good for any ocassion . We went with kids to celebrate our wedding aniversary.we had steak spaghetti and pizza. Can t describe in words how good and genuine the food is.if you ever visited italy you can tell how similar the food is. Genuine place with a good selection of wines.

Enjoyable excellent upscale Italian food in a smart stylish restaurant. Excellent ravioli, risotto, wild boar, stuffed chicken and tasty deserts. Delighted that this is a restaurant that has coat racks. Whilst still clearly the personal domain of Vito himself, this has very definitely kept up to date and embraced quality.

Fantastic meal, the food was delicious and all freshly made. The portions were also large and great value. Service was spot on, really friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice, clearly family run and very traditional.

Best Italian food ever tasted accompanied by a bottle of the finest Italian red wine that I’ve not managed to find in Italy so far having travelled to the country regularly over the past 20 years! I’m just so happy that now I have found the real Italian cuisine at my doorstep!

The room we were in was neat and tidy, but the decor wasn't great in my personal opinion. Also has a bizarre obsession with Peaky Blinders! But a really good Italian restaurant, best I've been to in Walkley and the surrounding area.

What a shame the reviews were good but our experience was not good. All was ok except the food. The lamb skewers were overcooked and chewy. The fillet steak was half inch thick more like a cutlet. Should have complained but one of our party of 5 doesn’t like confrontation. Drinks and service were fine.

Fantastic award winning restaurant in the Walkley suburb. Easy on-street parking. Welcoming and attentive staff. Great selection of traditional Italian dishes - probably not a good idea to ask for chips! We had the bruschetta appetizer followed by the aubergine bake and linguini mains. Finished with amazing tiramisu and good coffee. Highly recommended - will definitely visit again.

Me my wife our 2 lads and partner ate here Saturday night the food was delicious my wild boar main was so tender and tasty and the lobster ravioli was delightful too as was all our food the atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant too was lovely and chilled we would highly recommend this as a must place to go.

The eponymous proprietor of this cosy little Italian puts his heart and soul into the cooking, and it shows. After more than 25 years on the local scene, it clearly still gives Vito immense pleasure to be told his customers have enjoyed the authentic southern Italian food he serves up. We visited on a busy Thursday evening and wondered if Vito could magic up a meal to please our diverse group - one Pole, two Oxford students plus the oldies and remaining daughter. We needn't have worried. We started with a sharing order of delicious bruscetta classica, a fondue with black truffles and a piping hot pizza garlic bread fresh from the oven. Three of us opted for fish main courses, the perfectly cooked seabass and the house's very own recipe, cod in a Florentine sauce. Simply delightful, and a few glasses of Aglianico rounded off the evening perfectly. That a restaurant can still lead its field after three decades is a remarkable achievement. Put it down to an owner whose devotion to his craft is obvious to even the first time visitor.

This place is a hidden gem. It is easy to find free street parking nearby and one doesn't have to venture into the city center. And most importantly the food is delicious and fresh, and all the staff are friendly and accommodating. I have been here four times now, brought a bunch of different people and everyone has loved it. As a Vegan as well they offer a lot of vegan options that are not currently on the menu, you just need to ask. I especially like the gnocchi they offer, and they also have vegan cheese they can add to pizzas. The only drawback is that currently these options are not on the menu, however one of the staff members told me they are planning on updating the menu in October so I am hoping they add a (vg) next to the dishes that offer vegan options. I have tried the Bruschetta, Vegan gnocchi with a "cheese" sauce, Risotto Agro Dolce Al Gorgonzola, Linguini Torpedino e Zucchini. My favorite so far is the Gnocchi

We loved everything about this restaurant! We we’re staying nearby and looked through TripAdvisor for somewhere to eat. Boy did we hit the jackpot. The food was easily the best Italian food we’ve had outside Italy. The team were super friendly but left us to talk rather than continually coming to ply us with more drinks. Vito’s used to be our ‘go to’ many years ago when we lived just down the road. Not been for years- we’ve been missing out! The place was very busy, yet service was great, food delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Won’t be waiting as long to return again.

I have been going to vitos now for about 6-7 years, it’s my favourite restaurant in sheffield, iv never once had a bad meal it’s beautiful, and vito is a great guy too

We visited Vito’s on a whim and were pleasantly surprised with the charming environment. The staff treated us very well, meals were brought in good time (15-20 minute wait) and everything tasted absolutely fabulous. We ordered a range of starters and two mains (both carbonara). My favourite was the gnocchi, perfectly made (in my amateur food connoisseur’s opinion). Would happily recommend to anyone visiting Sheffield or in proximity to this restaurant. Hopefully will come here again on our next visit!

Delicious midweek dinner. Honestly the best steak I've eaten in years. Melt in the mouth good. Antipasti starter is large and would share next time, but they are happy to box it up to go.

Superb food. Best gluten free pizza I've ever had, almost questioned of there'd been a mistake. Dined with vegetarians as well, and no issues for anyone to find something they liked. Prices very reasonable, especially considering the high quality. Staff are very friendly and got to have a small talk with the owner afterwards.

This is by far our favourite Italian restaurant that we have been visiting for many years. The owner, Vito, is a true gent and treats you like family with every visit. The food and wine is always spectacular and for those who like a tipple of whisky, well you'll be in for a treat here, as Vito has some of the most tastiest whiskys for you to sample.

Amazing !!! I recommend x1000 We are french and on a sunday evening we were looking for somewhere to eat. We didn't know that everything close at 7pm on sunday. Fortunately, this restaurant was open late! The waiter was very kind :) and the food was excellent !! I took the pollo toscano and cannoli. It was very very good, even the cannoli tasted better than in sicily. One of the best food i've ever eaten.

Went midweek and it was empty. Why? This place is fantastic. Food's great, service is friendly, nice atmosphere. It's a bit pricey, so assume it's more of a weekend place. But do yourself a favour - avoid the crowds and visit midweek!

Third time my wife and I have visited vitos and once more it didn’t disappoint, it’s only due to work commitments that we don’t go more often, the food is delicious and reasonably priced and the family atmosphere makes the place feel warm and welcoming, the waitress could have been more helpful explaining some of the dishes , had to take some food home with us because we went a bit overboard with starters and side dishes but still left room for dessert. Don’t miss the homemade tiramisu it’s delicious,this place it’s a hidden gem that you’ll definitely revisit
