A lovely location with great facilities. Ideal for all the family and any ability. Plenty of parking, and close to the main road. The parking costs a fortune though, over £15 for over 4 hours, and card payments only for the parking. Similarly, the food and drink on offer is not cheap - but it is good.

Been here a few times but today we received our food in boxes and when I asked why they said “well the receipt says t so we thought it was takeout” and walked off before I could speak or resolve the issue, I did not ask for takeout as we were sitting at the cafe and had also ordered coffees that were given in glasses anyway and was given knifes and forks. They didn’t seem interested is fixing their mistake (bit upset as I did not write the ticket and I did not ask for takeout and why give coffees in mugs and glasses then food in a box) mostly upset about my problem being almost dismissed by a member of staff

4 words to describe the service here: 1. Slow; 2. Misleading; 3. Stingy; 4. Expensive. 1. One person was taking orders and another taking payment, which sounds efficient, but there were two other staff standing around with nothing to do. After placing her family's order, the lady in front of me was then told that the menu she was choosing from was no longer in use (it expired half an hour before), so she then had to call out to the others to find out what they'd like instead. I'm not sure why the un-busy staff didn't either help prepare the order or point out the menu problem, or indeed clear away the invalid menus during those 5 minutes. 2. Misleading: Before all of this started, I was standing by the freezers and asked one of the un-busy staff if that was the correct place to wait to be served ice cream. She assured me that I was in the right place. A few minutes later, I was directed by the lady taking orders to move to her queue to place my ice cream order and someone else would then serve. 3. Stingy. I know that a single scoop ice cream is just that - a single scoop, but most of the emporia I buy ice cream from will pile it up - not so here. You literally get 1 smooth ball. 4. Expensive. Related to the above, but £4.50 for a single scoop ice cream is a lot of money, even if it were piled up, which it wasn't. On the plus side, the ice cream tasted good, so no complaints about the manufacturer. It's just Benugo who are dreadful with both service and price. I've been to several of their establishments in the last 18 months and I'd say they're letting the side down. The Crown Estate should start looking for another caterer.

I love Virginia Lakes, I'm a member and I visit often. On mother's day, I thought I'd treat my mum to breakfast at the pavilion. I wish I hadn't. I won't be going there again. The staff were rude, had no clue what they were doing or where any of the tables were. While waiting an hour for our breakfast I watched the same lady bring out 5 different breakfasts to the same table and it was never their order. In my hour long wait I watched 3 different people sit at that table with their coffees and leave. I did ask after 35 minutes what was happening and was spoken to by a child with blonde hair with a gold braid in it, who clearly shouldn't me in customer services. She was obnoxious and rude. I was informed that "it says at the table there will be a longer wait at busy times". I don't accept that as an answer. I wasn't addressing her at the time, she rudely interrupted my conversation with the girl who had no idea what the table numbers were. Food was barely leaving the kitchen and when it did they had no idea where to take it. After 45 minutes we asked if we could order another tea without standing in the line which was extending beyond the doors to the dog terrace (don't even get me started on the time it took to order at the counter). She did agree to bring the card machine over with another tea but needless to say it never materialised. We arrived at 9.30 and didn't leave until gone 11. I won't be eating there again and I don't recommend you do either.

MORE AT Google

Oh, what a fantastic idea! Decided to head to Virginia Water for an hour or so on Mother’s Day, because who doesn’t love spending time in a queue, right? So, I walk up to get my coffee and that elusive whipped ice cream—only a quick 25-minute wait. No big deal! Eventually, I make it to the front of the line, ready to place my order, and of course, I get the classic “Computer says no!” moment. Apparently, to get my ice cream, I had to wander all the way to the back of the restaurant at their coffee shop next door—so, obviously, another 25-30 minutes in line. I politely asked if she could just pop around the back since it was literally right there—NO! Obviously. So off I go, back outside, ready for another 30-minute wait. But finally, finally, I’m holding that whipped ice cream. Hooray, right? My son can finally eat his ice cream—how lovely. Then, I asked the lady if she could just throw a couple of marshmallows on top to make my son happy. A bargain at 0.5p. Sure, it’s not a big deal, but really? Charging for two tiny marshmallows? The nerve! And this delightful treat? Only £4.50 for a whippie. So, thank you, Virginia Water. Really, thank you. Instead of spending an hour enjoying the sunshine, I got to spend it talking to two charming ladies who have absolutely no clue about customer service.

A horrendous experience. We arrived after a run for breakfast and ordered our food at 9:14. Our drinks arrived within five minutes; however, our food did not. After 35 minutes, our food finally arrived, but it was cold. I took it back to a staff member and pointed out that it was cold and that three out of four tables had received their orders before us, even though they had arrived after us. There was no apology or customer service. After a further 10 minutes, our food still had not arrived. I went to the counter and asked to speak to a manager, but no manager was available. I then requested a refund, at which point I was told our food was ready. However, since we had already been waiting for nearly 50 minutes, we decided to leave. While processing the refund, I was told that the delay was our fault because we had not provided a table number, and they had been looking for us. I received a refund for our food, but the staff were rude, and no manager was present to handle our issue.

Nothing like £9.00 quid parking to keep the hoi pollois out! And if that fails getting skinned alive for a coffee and cake! Well, I suppose it goes on the upkeep of the place. The gardens are great in the summer though the lycra-clad Chelsea joggers dragging their pooches around are a bit of a distraction. For some reason there are no waste-bins anywhere. There is also a dearth of park benches... Why? The online map is a study in obfuscation. I mean how many tourists from abroad know what/where an oblisk is? So expect to go round and round in circles... All the trees don't help much either. Last summer I nearly died from heat exhaustion. You'd think that they would put water pipes around the park at least! It felt silly almost dying in a public park. Anyway, nice park lousy map. Lots of well-heeled walkers enjoying a spot of sun.

Virginia Water Lake is an absolute gem in the heart of Surrey, offering a breathtaking escape into nature. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by stunning scenery, with the shimmering lake stretching out before you, surrounded by lush woodlands and beautifully maintained pathways. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful stroll, a scenic run, or a family day out, this place has it all! The circular walk around the lake is simply enchanting—every turn reveals something new, from cascading waterfalls and ancient ruins to vibrant wildlife and picturesque picnic spots. The towering trees create a magical atmosphere, especially in autumn when the leaves explode into shades of gold and red. The fresh air and serene ambiance make it impossible not to feel completely relaxed. One of the highlights is the stunning cascade waterfall, which adds to the tranquil yet invigorating experience. The totem pole, a striking historical landmark, is another unique feature that makes Virginia Water so special. There’s also a fantastic café nearby, perfect for grabbing a coffee and soaking in the views. The real showstopper, though, was the sunset. As the day came to a close, we were treated to the most breathtaking display of pink and red hues reflecting off the water, creating a truly magical and unforgettable scene. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful visit. Whether you’re a nature lover, a photographer, or just someone looking for a break from the hustle and bustle, Virginia Water Lake is an absolute must-visit. It’s a place where beauty and tranquility meet, leaving you refreshed and inspired every time. Highly recommended!

Beautiful spot - but the cafe is not good. Incompetent staff who forget orders and wander around aimlessly. Much better to stick to the main cafe at Savill Garden

Great little cafe! Superb coffee and the home cooked Portuguese treats mean I’m going back again!

Land Lady and Land Lord were amazing always make customers and visitors feel welcome and comfy, one smoking area out the front of the pub which doesn't effect the rooms and people with asthma, a brilliant pint! Specially Guinness the best pint of Guinness In Chertsey.. Great location, close to Thorp Park, train station and the high street.. You can enjoy a relaxing quiet pint here with friends bar staff and bubbly punters Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant for a celebration and tried this tuna steak. It was delicious. The staff was nice, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended for both casual use and special occasions.
