My Wife booked an afternoon tea online for a 80th birthday but it was cancelled by text on morning a couple of hours prior to the booking, have taken prepaid payment including tip and as yet not committed to refunding any money. Landline number is not working. Owner has spoken to us and claims electric company has cut them off. Still no confirmation of refund.

We came here to celebrate a family event and to redeem the voucher, but had to leave very disappointed, because the vouchers are not honoured by the new management even though they are well within the date. We were told: 'You can get your money back, other cuatomers got them back easily'. It's not about the money, it's about the disappointment brought and the whole weekend ruined.

We came all the way from Gibraltar for a quintessential English tea experience to find at 1510hrs the place was shut. It's a Tearoom. The English take tea in the afternoon.

Popped into this little family-run place on West Street for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. The menu was exactly what we were after - brunches, sausage and mash, classic British staples. The service was quick and very friendly, and the food was good - especially for the price (not many other places you can get bangers and mash for £8). Very glad we stopped here, would go again. And it’s very close to the free Fareham Museum too…

A last minute booking and we were very pleasantly surprised. Booked afternoon high tea for my mum and bother. The tea room was well presented, clean and great customer service from the two ladies who served us and prepared our food. Lovely bit of cheeky banter between us all and the food was delicious. Had far worse in London hotels. Well presented, plentiful and will definitely recommend and visit again. Great job ladies. Credit where credit is due!!

I booked tea for two to be delivered today on Mothering Sunday. Although the agreement was anytime between 12.30 to 3.30, the exciting box of goodies was delivered at 12.00 by a cheerful and polite young person. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the cake slices moist and delicious and the scones had to go back into the fridge because, for the moment, we are full! Thanks for making it a special day.

The staff were friendly and the service prompt. We had high tea and I enjoyed the chicken sandwiches in seeded bread. The filling was chunky and the bread high quality. I liked the scones which were warm and tasted fresh. Unfortunately I found my lemon cake too sweet with a filling that tasted like lemon curd. The tea was served in bone china cups which adds a special touch to tearooms. I was surprised that there were no tablecloths on the tables as shown in pictures of the cafe. Although the coffee was from a machine that ground the beans, it tasted weak and watery. I have visited many tearooms but this one did not stand out for me.

An overall good experience, with nice food and good service. We did have to wait a little while to have our order taken, but were served quickly once it had been taken The venue would benefit from having music playing in the background, to add to the ambience. When people weren't talking, it was very quiet.

I placed an order for 7 afternoon teas to be delivered as a surprise for our friends baby shower today. It was delicious. The sandwiches had a great variety of of fillings and were so fresh. The scones were like ‘clouds’ so soft and very tasty especially with the jam and clotted cream. There was a range of cake, I particularly enjoyed the lemon and poppyseed. What a tasty surprise to get a nice lady deliver us an afternoon tea to our door during lockdown. A kind gesture from a friend to buy us tea for two. Except for us having to brew our own cuppa, everything was there; sandwiches of seeded brown bread with tuna, ham/cheese, egg and chicken, two huge raisin scones and clotted cream (for 10 more!!!), and jam, two slices of cake (a lemon and a carrot cake), all nicely boxed up. Looking forward to visit the physical shop when this pandemic is over, in the meantime we highly recommend the Vintage Tea Room's delivery service for Fareham and surrounding areas.

A birthday during lockdown is unfortunately the ways things are for many of us. However, my birthday was definitely memorable this year thanks to the Vintage Tea Room. My dear friends arranged for afternoon tea to be delivered to my home and what a treat it was. Beautifully prepared snadwiches with fillings of egg (my favourite), tuna and cucumber, cheese and pickle and chicken mayo, large scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream and two pieces of cake - Victoria spnge and an orange and chocolate delight (wow, so delicious). It was thoroughly enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this special treat. Thank you to everyone at the Vintage Tea Room. I look forward to visiting you when lockdown is over.

My first visit here with my daughter and it was lovely. The shop was super clean and well organised for the “COVID-19 world we are stuck in” and clearly sporting that freshly refurbished look of polished glam/clean..loved it. We had tea and scones which where of good size and plenty of fillings to add. I noticed they had a good variety of cakes for afternoon tea and following a chat with the gentleman whom I presume is the owner I learnt they are offering a afternoon tea delivery service. He was lovely and chatty...I would recommend this little business and shall return.

I visited here with my family for afternoon tea. Firstly the customer service by the waitress was awful. She was rude and quite frankly not very good at her job. Secondly it took just over an hour to recieve our food, we ordered sandwiches, scones and cake. I personally don't think it is acceptable to take that long to provide food like this.Thirdly the food was mediocre at best, the ham was obviously the cheapest stuff from the local shop and everything else was microwaved.Lastly the place isn't very clean at all, I know it is a vintage tearoom but that doesn't mean you cannot clean the past 30 years of dust.

Very disappointing birthday afternoon tea for my dad. After paying £12.50 per person for an afternoon tea l was very disappointed to have delivered sandwiches made with the most basic white bread which was smothered in a thick layer of butter! Scones were very dry. Menu stated that Victoria Sponge was the cake that would be provided which my dad loves....... no Victoria Sponge was provided if there was a choice of cake this should of been made clear. No teabags were provided for the tea.I never normally complain but l am totally disappointed in this afternoon tea which came from a tearoom. I had a much nicer afternoon tea a couple of weeks ago from a cafe that did not specialise in afternoon teas,

Booked the day before online for 2 people for high tea and had a phone call an hour before we were due to arrive to cancel the booking. Apparently my booking had only just come through to them and that if I had paid online, it would have told me they were fully booked. I pointed out that I had an email confirmation and then a text reminder a few hours later about the booking which seemed surprising to the man on the phone. He was very matter of fact and didn’t seem overly apologetic at all. Clearly the online booking system doesn’t work properly and needs looking at. I won’t be rebooking.

We didn't receive a warm welcome which led me to believe the couple serving were perhaps ' standing in ' for the owner . I ordered cold food and my friend hot food. The hot food arrived and was consumed prior to the arrival of my cold food . My bread was of poor quality and had what appeared to be a ' thumb print ' in the top ! I ordered a slice of cake which looked nice but was sadly tasteless.

The tearoom was very shabby chic. Furniture, china etc. all mismatched. There was a large collection of china teapots on display. The place was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. I booked for afternoon tea as a Mother’s Day present, a week in advance, paid on line, had the booking confirmed, only to called less than 24 hours before my booking to be told they now had a large party in which would coincide with my booking, so they wanted to bring my booking forward from 2.30pm to 12 noon. Not quite afternoon tea !! It was clear a larger party spending more money were given precedence over my booking. Very let down at the very last minute, especially given the fact I had paid... We weren't disappointed, most of us ordered high tea which comprised a round of sandwiches (our group ordered brie and bacon, ham and pickle, cheese and pickle, chicken and mayo and salmon so wide selection available), a scone (plain, fruit or cheese), slice of cake and pot of tea. I had the brie and bacon with redcurrant jelly - delicious . Followed by fruit scone which of course was accompanied by jam and clotted cream all washed down by a lot of decaf tea. The slice of cake - salted caramel (although to the selection included watermelon cake, carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake and apple and butterscotch tart to mention a few) had to be taken home to be enjoyed after dinner. The owners were welcoming and patient - 2 of our group changed their order after she had written it down, the food was super tasty and a wonderful price. Would thoroughly recommend

Lovely spot in Fareham. Sandwiches are freshly made, decent choice of teas and coffees (in a teabag though, rather then loose leaf,), and out of the 3 different cakes we had 2 of them were incredible. Loved the salted caramel and Victoria sponge but none of us was keen on the caramel apple. It was well made, we just weren't fans of the flavour. The scones tasted ok, but didn't look great and because they seemed like they were warmed in a microwave they were a bit soggy at the bottom. I don't think the jam was homemade or anything special, but who cares because it tasted good lol. It was a lovely place though and I'd definately consider going again. Most of my bad points are just there for the sake of being picky for reviewing purposes.

OK so, unusually, there was a big 21st birthday party of maybe 18 people crammed around a big set of tables but the staff weren't busy during our time there, all the other five or six tables were empty bar one other but they had been served, but for 25 minutes I sat there with my daughter waiting to order and a man slowly ambled to the table next to ours and cleaned it at glacial speed but didn't look up, ignored my 'excuse me'. The waitress came over to the big table to get some more drinks for a few of them, blanked us completely on the way back despite me saying 'hello' twice and disappeared back into the kitchen. The lady from the kitchen came out to discuss gluten free food one of the big table, not even a look in our direction.I used to come her regularly - I don't know if I'll be back. It doesn't take much just to say 'hello, sorry, I'll be with you shortly' if you are truly busy. It's rude, makes you feel undervalued so we put our coats on and left as sat staring at the kitchen no one tried to make eye contact or had the courtesy to acknowledge us. Get your customer service fixed - this isn't a big place, how can we be so invisible? So we had a big lunch somewhere nearby instead where we were acknowleged as soon as walking in.

Having read the reviews about this tea room I was happy to book a table for a friends birthday lunch. The decor is lovely, but i thought the shop needed to be better lit as it was quite dark. The service was ok but the food was disappointing, I was brought the wrong order so waited a few minutes for the correct one to come out. When it did, unfortunately the jacket potato was cold in the middle. The waitress was very apologetic and made me a sandwich as requested. We had a scone for afterwards which had been heated in the microwave, so were warm, but went very hard as they cooled down. So, overall a disappointing lunch which is a shame as the decor is lovely and the staff pleasant!

Very nice traditional tea shop that serves excellent and generously portioned cream teas. Pretty good value and decent service.

Popped into here for lunch and got seated and served very quickly - checked out the amazing looking cakes (there are a lot and all freshly made) but decided to have the daily special soup of Tomato and Basil with half a baguette. My partner had a jacket potato which came with a good side salad and some crisps. Very friendly staff and good speed of service. Clean tea rooms with funky decor. I'm sure we shall be back again - thank you.

We love visiting quaint little vintage tea rooms. So we were delighted to find this one on a recent visit to Fareham. Unfortunately it was a mistake to go into this one. We sat down at a table there were probably three tables with other customers all had been served. We decided what we wanted and sat and waited to be served. Tables were cleared around us by the staff and still we were ignored after 15 minutes !! of feeling invisible we got up and left for a nearby Costa. In my opinion this really isn't a place to visit. There are plenty of nicer much friendlier vintage tea rooms throughout Hampshire which deserve visits.

We came here for high tea for 2 and was very impressed. Great service and the staff were all friendly. The high tea was lovely and we enjoyed the violet and blackberry cake and sandwiches were very filling. They happily changed are drinks for a 50p charge as we don't drink tea or coffee. The scones were warm and seemed fresh, would go here again lovely afternoon spent in here.

Had a lovely lunch and the high tea was delicious especially the warm fresh scones. The sandwiches were fresh and full of filing.

Let me start off by saying that I love the décor. The place is inviting, especially with good looking cakes on display. I ordered a salad and my friend ordered chili con carne. His chili was very bland and although my salad looked nice, it was something I could have done at home. The salad itself was a very cheapy horrible lettuce and the coleslaw seemed like it was from Aldi down the road. Dressings were presented to me in half used Aldi containers and it was a bit off putting. I'd like to give it another go one day, the cakes look very nice and the people seem friendly.

Lovely quirky surroundings in this tea room. Superb service with friendly polite staff. Cream tea was a warm scone (choice of plain or sultana), loads of clotted cream & jam & choice of tea or coffee. All served in old style crockery & cutlery. We would certainly recommend it - all the prices are very reasonable too.

Visited late morning for coffee and cake. All aspects were high quality: the selection, the service, the taste and the value. Didn't have to wait at all and the atmosphere was very nice. Will be returning to sample more.

Our second visit here. .pretty good but not quite as nice as last time. My wife's salmon salad had what looked like tinned salmon in it, and my beef and horseradish sandwich was just that.....a sandwich served with no accompanying salad or crisps. The chocolate cake was nice but didn't really taste very chocolaty unfortunately. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and service was prompt. Tables and surroundings were all very nice too. Si, quite good but could be a bit better.

Visited with some friends for lunch although the food took 40 minutes to come out - we only had afternoon tea! Scones delicious, warm and soft. Sandwiches are average. Our server was a smoker and the smell was off putting. All that said, worth a visit - good price for great scones.

Decided to try the vintage tearooms today on this dull bank holiday Sunday and was not disappointed either, so gorgeous inside with very pleasant staff too.Ordered pot of tea for two and a ploughmans and cheese and onion toastie, both tasty with side salad and few crisps. Will go back to try one of the gorgeous cakes and coffee soon, nipped to the loo on the way out and thumbs up for cleanliness !!

My first visit to this tearoom and I shall definitely go again. The scone was warm, light and fresh with a generous helping of clotted cream (essential). The menu was varied and reasonable priced. Well worth a visit.

The vintage tea room is really quaint and is a really lovely setting for lunch. We booked ahead as there were 11 of us going to celebrate a birthday. The prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately I wouldn't rate the food as highly as the venue. The menu we were given had about ten different sandwich fillings listed. However, as we were in a larger group and had prebooked we were bought stands with a selection. We only had three different types of sandwich despite have three cake stands. They were nice and fresh though. The scones were a little strange and tasted more of bread than scone. The jam and cream both lacked flavour and we all felt they were lacking something. Again we were given a selection of cakes, which had gone rather soggy in the heat by the time we came to eating them and there were cakes on the counter we liked the look of more. The original waitress said we could ask for something different if the cake we wanted wasn't on our stand, but we never saw her again and the other one seemed a bit perturbed when we asked for some carrot cake. I think the service was ok, but drinks were forgotten after the order was taken and no one came to check everything was ok. I guess we were a big group and perhaps the service is better in smaller groups. I would go back, but I would avoid high tea and would just go in a group of two or three.

I went here for Sunday roast and was left a little disappointed. The staff were excellent throughout. The roast beef was good, I had the trio roast which was with beef, pork and chicken (the chicken and pork were over done), and considering you pay more for this, I expected a larger amount of meat, instead it was a normal amount of meat but divided up into three different types of meat. Then the veg arrived and we were given the same portion as they gave to single and couple customers (I know this because I was looking around at other tables) were given but we were sharing between 4 people! Sharing a veg portion for one person between 4 meant we didn’t get much each. This I found very disappointing.

The food was OK the coffee was not. Had a nice simple smoothie. The staff don't look happy to be there and just look fed up. Definitely not worth over £17!

So asked for Black Forest hot chocolate but they gave it to me without cream , when I asked for cream to which she said "you asked for black forest hot chocolate ", I said if you look in the picture it comes with cream. So she gave me cream, which ran out, and then she was going to give me that, so I asked for more cream as it was a tiny amount , so they she found some eventually then that ran out, so it was no where near what the picture looked like . So Costa either makes sure you have the supplies in, and your staff have the right attitude for the public because she clearly did not 👎

Pubs (and restaurants) has had a tsunami of challenges facing them since the 2008 credit crunch. Any small and or independent pub (or restaurant) that has survived these financial tsunami’s deserve all the support they can get. Unfortunately many of the said surviving pubs which survived the financial crisis of 2008 and still managed to provide good or even fair quality food, stumbled after the challenges presented after the tsunamis of the past 8 years, which included the pandemic. With that in mind it is always great to still stumble upon pubs that are still able to provide good quality food, especially at mire reasonable prices.

This is on the Warsash side of the river. A great location though some might think a little difficult to visit by car. Following a small lane you park in the boatyard, if you give them your vehicle details, your parking is free. We visited early in the evening and it was very quiet, I can imagine it’s more busy during the summer months. There is plenty of outside seating that looks really nice with a river view. We only had a drink but it is light, airy & modern.
