We visited on a Saturday and were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't have been nicer. The fryers weren't working, but we could order baguettes. We had a lovely big pot of tea for two and she was very obliging in making a bacon baguette for my son. Having returned on our last day of holiday 2 days later for lunch, we couldn't have had a more different experience. We were greeted in a rude and offhand manner, told they 'didnt do' bacon baguettes, although she managed (!) and having taken a food order to had to ask if we could order drinks...she literally huffed at us for asking!! This lady is definitely in the wrong job and is going to cost the owners a lot of business. As a result I wouldn't recommend. Even more worryingly, when asked to complete track and trace, my details from the first visit 2 days earlier was still there and the date had been crossed out and changed!! I will be livid if I am contacted as a result of visiting here as they are not recording the data correctly.

Having booked to stay at the other terrible hotel they own the charter house we were advised that we would have to walk across the square for breakfast, something was NOT mentioned in the website at all. Breakfast was awful - sitting in a tea room - no Covid measures in place no staff wearing masks - asked for poached eggs received fried with cold hard bacon tasteless sausages and coffee which tasted a week old avoid awful food and staff that fail to adhere to a pandemic

On arriving at the tea rooms, we were greeted by a lady who seemed very rushed off her feet, after it becoming busy. Once we had sat down, she approached us a while after to take our orders. Our table feeling very rushed to give her our orders, the way her body language and tone came across. Once ordered, she was taking other orders and the way she spoke to others was utterly rude. Once our food had arrived, we had to ask for the roll that came with the soup, and when recieved it smelt gone off and did not feel fresh. When asking for a slice of toast for my son, it felt like we were asking too much of her. I understand people can get a little flustered when busy however, there should still be service with a smile or if you can't handle everyone coming it at once, maybe look at recruiting another team member during busy times (lunch time)

Went in with my family, been welcomed by a rude lady standing behind a desk that said they didn't have any free table... She didn't even say good morning..... They actually had three table free. She made us sit. The lady taking our order was nice and she kept rushing around because she clearly didn't have any other help. Two ladies cooking, the rude lady standing behind the teapot and mugs doing absolutely nuthing with a full restaurant. They bring our tea abd we waited 30 min before having food. We got cream tea and the scones were stale and made already so no point in letting us wait. The tea was lukewarm when a scone arrived..... The two ladies cooking were cleary angry for the poor service and for not having any help. Such a pity, th e location is lovely and was really happy to take my parents here but i cannot say that service and food were worth the wait.

Surprise weekend to the IOW for my Birthday ! HAD to have a cream tea, so walked into Newport and found the most adorable Tearoom. Cream tea was amazing, the scones were baked on the premises, huge, tasty and still warm. Unlike other cream teas I have had, there was loads of cream and jam. Staff were so welcoming and attentive. The tearoom was full of charm as well, with its decor - an absolute must. Would definitely recommend.

These tearooms in Newport are under new management, and very competent management it is, too. We've visited several times, and enjoyed great food at good prices. The owners, Mike and Louise are really friendly and welcoming, and Louise makes the best scones on the island, imho. We've been several times during our holiday and hope to go again!

What a lovely little tearoom, we have been meaning to pop in for a while and finally did and were not disappointed. The all day breakfast was amazing, it was what you call a real all day breakfast with all the trimmings! . Lovely selection of cakes to chose from and the staff were very friendly. The tea was delicious and loads of it

We arranged a surprise baby shower for my friend so i had been liaising with Louise prior to us attending and we had requests such as Gluten free which they catered for with no issues. They were flexible when we attended with our seating. The tea rooms decor is very cute (just what you would expect of a vintage tea room) and the atmosphere is great anyways but for this occasion, they bought a baby shower balloon, pink ribbons were put on the back of our chairs and there were plenty of flowers and girly touches on the table for the occasion which was really appreciated. 12 of us girls and my friends toddler attended yesterday afternoon for afternoon tea which was delicious and amazing value for money (15.95!) There were plenty of different cakes and sandwiches and we liked the salad and quiche that was also provided. There were too many cakes so it was perfect that they had some Polystyrene boxes ready for us to take them away. During our afternoon, we were checked in on by the friendly waitresses working there to make sure we had enough tea and everything was OK. As there were a few of us, paying was made easier by going up to the till individually to sort this. My friend had a lovely baby shower, thank you very much.

Visited the tea room for a quick coffee, but ended up ordering a cream tea. Absolutely gorgeous! They offer a lovely selection of cakes, so it was very difficult to choose. But what a selection. The service is excellent, the staff are friendly & it is good value for money. Need to visit more often....

After being told about this place, was really disappointed to say the least. Have been informed that previously there was quite a warm friendly atmosphere, I can say that the music is not of the required taste for such a pretty tearooms, the dress code of the management is not what would you expect, manage4 dressed in jeans and trainers, and not very friendly. Went over to look at the cakes, and was ignored by the 3 staff behind the counter, obviously their conversations were more important than the customers needs. There also seemed to be a language problem from the waitress, she didn’t seem to understand what I was asking for, the overall experience was extremely disappointing to say the least

I'd like to say that I enjoyed the food at the Vintage Rose Tea Room, but I'm afraid I gave up waiting for it. Upon entering we were given a less than warm welcome, curtly being told "we're not doing food now, only tea and cakes". We ordered drinks and cake, with the drinks arriving fairly promptly. The cakes, however, did not arrive promptly and, having waited more than twenty minutes for cakes we could see on a counter behind us (with an abundance of staff stood around chatting, scoffing supplies and pacing around), we decided that we would cancel and go elsewhere. The cancellation of our cake was met with not an ounce of empathy, but rather annoyance. We are not inclined to ever return.

On Friday the 17th May my husband and I visited Newport. I have to say that the town was a massive disappointment and we were looking to make a quick exit then we saw Vintage Rose Tea Rooms. A quaint old fashioned place with friendly attentive staff. We both had latte which was delivered piping hot- a rarity these days. However the highlight was the cakes and scones. I had coffee and walnut cake which was moist and tasty with loads of walnuts on the top. My husband had a fruit scone with jam and cream which he described as the best he’d come across. The price was slightly high but you have to bare in mind that the scone and cake were absolutely enormous (we had these at 11:00 am and couldn’t eat anything else until our evening meal at 7:00 pm). The best, in fact probably the only, reason to visit Newport.

Just popped in quick to pick up a latte coffee. Although staff were friendly I thought £2.50 was expensive for small drink. When I got home and took the lid off to drink it, the cup was only half full and was quite bitter. Too late for me to go back. Very disappointed.

I discovered this amazing cafe a few months ago and it is now my favourite place to stop off for coffee and one of their amazing cakes or scones. They catered for 10 of us for a baby shower, afternoon tea, the table was made to look stunning, the food as always was superb and the staff couldn't do enough to make our afternoon. Would highly recommend a visit.

Love this cute little tearoom. I have been 3 times now and service has always been excellent, food so good and reasonably priced. I would also choose to go here when in Newport without a doubt and am looking forward to my mum coming over next week so that she can come too. Will be having a cream tea next time. Highly recommend this place.

This little tearoom has the making of a wonderful business. The setting is very vintage, with the matching teapots & cups, the cakes and the decor. For that i would give it 5 stars.

Rather dissapointed to be honest. We were not greeted as we walked in and chose our own table. The tables are set apart with plenty of room which was refreshing from other cafe/restuarants which was a plus, but where is the 1940`s bit?

We ordered a Gentlemans tea and a Lady's tea. You had a choice of sandwiches which was served on a either white or brown bread. This was tastefully arranged on a cake stand with salad, potato salad and coleslaw. There was also a choice of scone - fruit plain and cheese, with bite sized meringues, Mille feuille, chocolate truffle on the Lady's tea. The Gentlemans tea had savouries like steak and ale pie, scotch egg, pork pie and sausage roll. The scones were enormous! We were beaten by the amount of food provided and were grateful for the boxes we could take the things home in. Definitely good value for money!

Everytime i get to have a look at Costa Newport Shropshire website, the thin that greets me on the Google listing is a review from trip adivsor and this is 10 - yes ten - years old!! It say it is" the worst Costa ever". I am a local elderly lady and I go down there 2-3 times a week. I go on my own. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and homely. The seats are comfortable and padded. It upsets me that Trip-Advisor can keep plugging this ten year old review. How dare they do this!! it is shocking. I havent dont a trip advisor review for 2-3 years, but I am fed up with this report. Please take it off.

Had a really lovely cosy lunch in here on a cool Autumn day. Really warm service and the food was enjoyable. Great location for looking out to sea.

It's very busy in the summer season, but it still manages to produce great food. In the winter, it's the one pub that is consistently open, no matter what the weather or footfall. Throughout the winter, there are special deals on meals, which are cooked to a very high standard. The staff are really friendly and helpful and if you want any changes to your meal, they are only too willing to help. If you come to Yarmouth pop in, you will be looked after and enjoy a lovely meal and beverage of your choice. The location is great, but the phone signal is very poor. You may have to walk up the peir.

We had a poor dining experience, one meal in particular, the stir fry chicken was very strange with slices of raw tomato and bottled silverside onions. The other meals were indifferent, chips not really hot, a real bugbear with me as it's something that's so easy to get right. They close tomorrow until March so were obviously just not that bothered and keen to get off home. It's a shame as it's an attractive venue with live music and a real nautical vibe.
