Where do I start! Every member of staff was terrible. There is no pleasantries what so ever. We sat down and waited 20 minutes for a menu, another 15 minutes before I had to find someone to order a drink which took a life time to reach us. The food is lovely and the venue helps them out but their staff are utterly awful. We waited 20 minutes for the bill, when we went to ask for it again they were all standing around chatting. There were about 2 people inside and this was after the busy lunch period so no excuses. I suggest retraining your staff. Manners cost nothing and they seem to be non existent in this establishment.

Very good lunch place in City! Fresh high quality ingredients, perfectly cooked gnocchi, excellent bavette and really good French fries. Coffees up to Italian standard. Definitively worth a stop if you are at City. A lunch for 2 people cost just under 60 GBP with 2 mains, 2 coffees and filtered water. Service charge 12.5% included.

Lovely food but very moody staff. We booked to sit outside (requesting a sunny spot in advance) and were sat in a dark corner when the whole rest of the terrace was in the sun, I asked for the umbrella to be put down and was told no, when stated we asked to be in the sunshine I was told ‘I can’t control the sun’ when they could have easily accommodated us elsewhere in the sun. Waited 45 mins for starter plates to be cleared and when asked to do so, was met with moody looks and then they got annoyed when they took half a bottle of wine from the table and we asked them for it back! After spending nearly 1k we refused the service charge. Spent a lot there on business events over the past few months and will not be doing so again.

Called in for a quick bite before a meeting and was pleased with the prompt service and good food. I had a Cappuccino(£3.20) with an excellent Eggs Benedict (£11.50) cooked to order with toasted bun, carrying slices of ham covered in a delicious hollandaise sauce with perfectly runny poached eggs atop. Great start to a miserably wet February day in the City. Recommended.

I wish I had read the reviews before suggesting Vinoteca with a colleague to meet a friend . Stood at the bar at 5pm and waited ages for the one server to come and take an order. In the end had to walk the length of the bar to ask for her attention. She duly came over and took the order (a bottle) and went away never to be seen again. Had to ask another server when they wandered past the bar and eventually got the bottle we wanted. The friend arrived - through the main entrance and because he couldnt see us (unsighted by the screen at the far end of the bar) he asked the lady at the dias by the door. He made the grievous error of standing to the side of the dias and was instructed to stand in front of the dias. I saw him and went and got him. We wanted to sit and discuss some paperwork but notwithstanding there were a lot of empty tables we were told there was no-where for us to sit. To add insult to injury while standing at the bar we were told we had to sit down (there were 2 stools and 3 of us) we were told we had to sit down at the bar as "we are not a pub". We said we'd been asking to sit down but been told we couldn't. Quite quite bizarre, to the degree I was looking for a "candid camera" type crew. The staff were surly and rude. The wine was drinkable but no better than that. Save your money, and go anywhere else.

I joined some clients for a glass of wine and to discuss a project. On entry I was challenged my the receptionist and told that if i wanted to speak to her I had to stand in front of the desk, not beside it. Accordingly I made a knight's move to continue the discussion. I then spied my colleagues and joined them at the bar. Service was slow and erratic. We asked if we could have table for half an hour to review some papers but were emphatically told no (although the tables remained largely empty). Things then became much stranger as the bar manager brusquely instructed us to sit down, informing us that "this is not a pub". By all means, we said, but at which table? We have been told we cannot have one. A discussion then ensued amongst the staff; no table is available. Oh well we said and finished our wine and left.

I work for Bloomberg next door so I used to come here quite often for lunch but I won’t be back after tonight’s experience. I brought three friends of mine for a drink and dinner. We waited at the counter for a table outside and my 3 friends shared a bottle of red which was served straight away. My glass of wine (a quite mediocre Riesling) came after 20 mins. When I asked the lady where my wine was she said it was coming. When I asked the second time and offered to get something else in case they couldn’t find that bottle, she told me there was a queue of orders to respect and I would have waited anyway. Was a shame not having a drink while my friends were drinking. When a table outside freed up they took us to a nice table by the road. There I finally got my glass of wine. We wanted to order some food but that area didnt seem to be waited…not many waters around or not at all at times. After 30 minutes I went to the lady at the outside counter asking if someone could come over to our table… she gave me a weird look and I don’t think she even acknowledged or talked to me. She looked at the tables and glanced at a colleague and went back on the screen. I went back to the table and after another 20 minutes we waived desperately at a waitress carrying glasses who eventually came over and took our orders. The food arrived pretty quickly (all starters) but much before our next round of drinks. This was meant to be a quick drink and fingerfood after work and became a 3 hours deal. The place is not exactly cheap and for that money you would expect at least a waiter that acknowledges you, I’m not even saying to take a an order… Staff need training and place needs better management. Will not be back and will no longer recommend this place

Meat & cheese platters excellent. Good selection & portion sizes. That said, our server was very rude on all levels to the point we didnt pay service (which I hate to do). Wouldn't recommend on account of service unfortunately.

I was impressed with every aspect of the service from Vinoteca for a small drinks & nibbles gathering on midweek evening. We were given the excellent table in the 'wine shop' section, somewhat separate from the rest, and so feeling rather special; house wine was very drinkable and great value, and a varied selection of freshly prepared tapas-type dishes were delivered promptly. Great service throughout from Jo and the team - thank you.

Really, really slow service! Food took hours to arrive (ok…I exaggerate slightly but 50+ mins). The food was average. The starter of a few lettuce leaves, walnuts and Gorgonzola would have taken a kitchen porter 2 mins to assemble…not 50 mins. We politely asked 5 members of staff to chase things up to little effect and when the main course finally arrived we asked for the next course to be brought out at the same time otherwise we figured we’d be there all day. In all fairness they obliged. We mentioned the service having paid the bill to the lady at the door who shrugged her shoulders and just said “it’s busy today”. Poor show and won’t be returning

It is formal-informal, you feel good in any occasion. The service is friendly and professional. Waitress know their wines and are more than happy to suggest you the one you ‘d love. Food wise I personally love the bavette!!! I sometimes go there just for “aperitivo “ as it has space outside as well. If you are nearby, come to have a look and you ‘d be happy. Good job!

Lovely food, great service and brilliant wine in a beautiful restaurant close to the station. I’m a regular and often go back as the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable. If you love wine and great food this is the spot for you.

I was particularly impressed by the service from two young ladies on Saturday 3 December: thoroughly pleasant and welcoming. A cool Flat White coffee was immediately replaced with apologies.

Full. Buzzy atmosphere, interesting wine list, nice people serving, we had haddock and mussel casserole/hake with some sides. All of which was awful. Stringy mussels, a meagre portion of haddock full of bones in a sea of flavourless cream. The hake was pronounced ‘quite unpleasant’ by our guest. Good for drinks. Don’t order the fish.

We had our wedding reception at Vinoteca City on Saturday and it was a wonderful event. The food was excellent, delicious canapes (really plentiful), lovely lunch (guests had options) and tasty evening finger food, all with excellent wine. We also had a band so we could party the night away. Vinoteca were super flexible and accommodating and provided a very professional service. The location is awesome too. Big thanks to the team.

I went here with a colleague; we were able to sit outside. You can watch the busy world walking by while you chat and sip from an excellent wine list; I can't remember the name of the Sauvignon blanc I was enjoying but I will ho back for it next week. It was amazing!
