The restaurant is not clean, neither the food nor the tables. I had a bad experience. I ordered a falafel sandwich for breakfast with tea. The food was bad and the cups were not clean.

I met with my school mate after 8 years it was 3 of us we ordered and started chatting no waiter came to disturb us even outdoor they put heat lamp on my table.i went inside and paid the bill without my friends noticing before leaving he asked for bill staff replied its been paid already in the front shop was Costa coffee empty they closed it around 7.30pm I didn't even saw single customer in Costa coffee shop in Bond street.

Our first time in England. When we search for Turkish cuisine, the table restaurant is the one we come across. I'm glad we came. I would like to thank Ms. Derin, who welcomed me with a smiling face, for her interest, care and guidance. You can taste the flavors of Turkish cuisine with your eyes closed.

The food is truly great. I went 3 times. This is a wonderful restaurant that we go to just to eat even though we live outside London. There is only one flaw: The toilets are very bad, neglected and dirty, there is no care section for babies. It is difficult to reach the toilets, they are on the service route. It definitely does not suit Mr. Hüseyin Özer. I hope a solution is found soon. It is such a decent restaurant and a place that serves excellent food. Toilets must be renewed.

The worst Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been. Food wasn’t good at all and toilets are disgusting , many staff working there but one of them can’t look after the toilets? Never go again. Very disappointing.

The food was okay, nothing to rave about. Skip the lemonade though—it was seriously the worst. One thing that bugged me was the staff kept stopping by our table and staring at us, made it feel like they wanted us to hurry up and leave.

Disappointing experience compared to how it used to be. We sat outside, but the heating was inadequate despite blankets. Service was very slow – soup took 20 minutes, and other dishes over 40+, even after we said we had a flight to catch. For £250+ for six people, the food was underwhelming, and we only ate about a third. Staff were kind, but the food and service fell far below expectations.

To avoid I do not recommend this restaurant at all, if I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered 2 Iskender, the Iskender is basically kebab meat but it was ground steak not cooked at all, the bread was really too hard to bite and was also soaked in oil. Don't worry about the price. I am of Turkish origin and I would say that this is anything but a Turkish restaurant. It’s shameful!!

We arrived for no one to attend to us, with the seats covered in water. We were seated beside their cleaning station, despite there being free seats elsewhere. We ordered drinks to the table, but we had to talk to two different waiters to order. We ordered a vodka cranberry, however received a shot of vodka and a full glass of cranberry juice separately, (when checking the bill later, we were charged for both individually). The food on the menu had promises that were not fulfilled. The portion sizes were a joke! We received one SINGLE broccoli over a plate of unseasoned plain rice which they tried to sell as basmati pilau rice. No seasoning on the meat either, showed that no effort was made cooking it. We weren’t even given salt and pepper on our table yet all the other tables had them (even the empty ones). Would not recommend going there, save yourself from a pitiful evening. Just go to your local kebab shop instead, you’d get 10x better food and service for a quarter of the price. 🙏

I would like to thank the lady and gentleman who welcomed us at the entrance of the restaurant for their interest and guidance in choosing the food. Both of them make you feel the quality of the restaurant from the very beginning with their smiling faces and professionalism. The hummus served as a starter was delicious with the pita bread that came with it. It was much more delicious than the hummus I had in Turkey, so we asked for a second portion. The stuffed meatballs were really great, and the eggplant appetizer was also quite delicious. Lahmacun may vary according to taste, because the taste and texture of the dough had a different character. Ayran deserves special praise; The consistency of the yoghurt was soft and I think milk was added to it, which made it taste perfect. The main courses were on a whole different level. It offers a very different taste from kebabs in Turkey. The fat of the meat was in perfect consistency and the flavor was quite satisfying. I especially recommend you to try iskender kebab; The sauce, meat and abundance of ingredients were truly unique. I recommend that you do not leave the restaurant without drinking Turkish coffee after your meal. They maintain the same quality now as it was when I went there 12 years ago. It is very nice to see that they have not lost their taste and quality over time. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the lady and gentleman at the entrance of the restaurant for their guidance and assistance in selecting our meals. Their warm and professional approach immediately reflects the quality of the restaurant. As a starter, we were served hummus accompanied by pita bread, and it was simply delicious. It was far superior to the hummus I have tasted in Turkey, prompting us to order a second portion. The stuffed meatballs were outstanding, and the eggplant appetizer was also very tasty. The lahmacun may vary depending on personal taste, as the flavor and texture of the dough are quite distinctive. The ayran deserves special praise – the yogurt was smooth and I believe milk was added, which made it exceptional. The main courses were on another level. The flavors were distinctly different from the kebabs I had in Turkey. The meat was perfectly marbled and incredibly flavorful. The flavors have remained consistently excellent over the years. I first visited this restaurant 12 years ago, and I am pleased to see that they have maintained their quality without compromise.

I am not visiting this restaurant again. The staff was smiling, doing their best but there are serious issues: 1. It looks very old and outdated and very cramped inside 2. I ordered lahmacun (Turkish pizza), which by default should come with greens and lemon. This has been the case for my entire life at any Turkish restaurant until this one. They charged me £3.5 for a tiny bit rockets (not even half of handful) and for a quarter of lemon. What a disgrace. 3. The owner, so called now famous, seems to victimise himself and his childhood story, even at the back of menu carte. Keeps telling how pitty his life has been in the past, yet he has got at least 3 restaurants in London, even one ay Mayfair. It does not look honest. I think toilet and downstairs is horrible. Maybe the revenue you make on a resturant should sometimes be used to refurbish itself, instead of opening new restaurants. 4. Lahmacun is around £6.5-£7.5 on other Turkish restaurants which are at central London (Holborn, Oxford Circus) areas. But they had it for £8.95. 5. I heard some unpleasant stories about how unfairly they share service charge/tip within staff&managers (from somebody who started working there, and quickly resigned after 3-4 days after the injustice about service charges) If you think you rule the world, fine, you lost a person who regularly eat at Turkish restaurants.

The food was normal - the kebab was bland no salt - the chicken breast and rice was only - the Keba dose not taste like kebba but / the feta salad was very cold and the cheese has strange taste - vine leaves was not cooked enough.

It is worth trying and it has many branches. The nearest branch to you, try it, is excellent, but the value of their service is great. The worst Turkish restaurant in London. The taste of the food is very bad, the employees are unprofessional and arrogant. We said in the reservation note that we wanted a table by the window, but even though it was empty, we were given the table furthest from the window. When I said this, we got an immediate response saying "we changed it". You cannot even hear yourself due to the crowd and noise, yet there is no warning from the employees. The worst of Turkish restaurants. Although taste, service, hygiene and professionalism are all at zero, the prices are irrelevant and expensive. I never recommend it, there are many better restaurants even next to this place. Don't waste your time here...

A more than wonderful restaurant

The food, service speed and quality of Sofra restaurant were amazing. We had the chance to meet and chat with the restaurant owner, Mr. Hüseyin Özer. His life story was shot as a movie and its premiere will be in Istanbul soon. We learned that it is a true story that should be an example for everyone. We listened to Mr. Hüseyin with great pleasure and appreciated him. We are glad we had the opportunity to visit such a beautiful place, and we highly recommend it to you…

Improved after some years of not doing well

I went to this restaurant yesterday evening to eat with friends. On the face of it, the place seems decent- pretty location etc but the whole eating experience was disgusting to say the least. The waiters are clueless about the ingredients being used in the dishes so could not even explain the menu properly.We were seated under a plastic cover which extended from an awning and it kept dropping on us. We asked the waiter to change our table and after several failed attempts to fix the issue we were seated at another table. We ordered mains of sea bass and black cod and the food was old, bland and cold. The chips served tasted a day old - absolutely horrible. We returned the food to the waiter and explained the problem and he became angry. He then called the manager (a short, bald man with zero manners). The manager came to ask us what the problem was and when we relayed our concerns he made the following statements: 'I know girls like you, you just came here to create problems' 'You are all liars' 'You ate half the sea bass' which we had not. When we asked to speak to the chef, he said 'I am the chef!' The manager was disrespectful, hostile and took our concerns over the food personally. He needs training to understand how to treat customers - he most definitely does not know how to speak to women. I normally never leave bad reviews because I understand how damaging they can be for a business but the experience left us extremely disturbed and shocked. I urge people to not go to eat here. You will be served stale food and disrespected and then handed a heavy bill to pay at the end. Absolutely horrible experience. AVOID!

DO NOT RECOMMEND, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. We ordered fetoush salad, and sea bass with fries, which both had no flavour whatsoever, fries looked old, and came after an hour. I had one bite of the sea bass and asked to return it kindly. The waitress was so rude he took the plate and came out accusing me and my friends of lying and that I had half the food. I asked him to show me he said he’d “binned it”. He had no manners at all. He blatantly says that we have come to cause problems. Never going back again.

We booked but were left waiting outside in the rain for someone to finish before we had a table. The food was overpriced and awful. Mine was all bone and my husband’s dry rice and dry meat. People crammed in like sardines and service almost none existent. The worse experience however was my trip to the toilets. You pass the kitchen on the way to the loos and had we not already eaten I would have refused to eat in the place. The kitchen was a complete mess, food in bags on the floor and looked dirty and untidy. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

The employees and the manager do not know how to serve and talk to customers. Disgusting, terrible place. Never to be chosen again. And a place I will tell my friends who ask me badly. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service is top . I ordered the steak, it was good, the only thing that I can say is it needed sauce. I don’t know about others but I like my gravy/ mushroom and garlic sauce as it makes the steak very dry to eat without it Portions are top notch, complimentary hummus and bread is also a great start. Will be looking forward to go again. The lemon and mint drink was also exceptional (ordered 2)

The atmosphere here is very strange. The staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. The food was beyond terrible. I stupidly ordered the English breakfast, the meat was unidentifiable, and the mushrooms and eggs were slathered in butter and oil. Absolutely vile. My friends ordered shakshuka but were greeted by scrambled eggs and peppers mixed in a big pile of buttery oily nothingness. I would never return here, and I advise you also to avoid this hellish hovel.

Today, i had a lunch with my friends it was amazing food and services also very good , staff was very friendly. i will be visit again. Highly recomended.

Hated every bit.. English breakfast tea...hmm leaves a lit to be desired..never had a scrambled egg fried first. ..full English breakfast consisted of the fried scrambled egg tin mushrooms 1 well cooked hash brown 1 slice of fresh tomato 1 small spam looking sausage cut in half..and have to add I never eat my scrambled egg couldn't drink the very very strong tea.. defo won't be back

This was my second visit and SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! Food was good but the customer service definitely made the experience very very very unpleasant. Me and my friend decided to sit outside and the two waiters who were there acted like they did not know what they were doing. The waiter did not smile at all and just gave me looks all the time. I put my used napkin and cutlery in my plate after my starters and they did not even take it away from the table. And when i told them to take it away in a nice way they gave me attitude??? And when my plate finally arrived those two waiters kept walking around our table and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I could not even finish my food and decided to leave. Definitely will not be coming back.

I've been to Sofra Restaurant three times in the past month, and I'm already planning my next visit. The menu is diverse and exciting, with something for every palate. The chef's attention to detail is impressive, and the presentation is always stunning. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Sofra Restaurant has become my go-to spot for special occasions and casual nights out.

Saw a mouse in the toilet which is right next to the kitchen. Thankfully this was before I ordered, so I decided to leave. Upon seeing the mouse, I then looked around on my way back upstairs and realised that the restaurant could do with a real deep clean. It really is quite dirty everywhere. The floors were also greasy. A shame, as I used to come here reasonable often many years ago. I hope management noticed this and does something about it, as it comes from a place of providing actionable feedback.

Booked a birthday dinner for a friends 25th birthday - If I could give it a zero on EVERYTHING I would. Service was awful, we had to wait 40 minutes to even get drinks, and we had to go in and ask to be served! Food was another 30mins wait, and was absolutely awful undercooked (raw) steak, children’s portions for £15! And a tonic water as a mixer for £4.50. The chorizo sausage for £8.95 was 1 sausage cut into 4 pieces. We didn’t get a check back on food once. We asked to get service off the bill and waiter told us no. We all have worked in hospitality so are fairly reasonable but this was unacceptable. We asked to speak to the manager and he kept arguing and tried to get CCTV out to prove us wrong - which in fact we were right as he scrambled to try and not show us the footage. We went then pushed outside in the rain as he was embarrassed to speak in front of the restaurant. So disappointed, and we weren’t offered a solution. We turned a table away after they heard what we said and we will never be returning.

Avoid this place at all costs! I visited for breakfast, and my son ordered pancakes. What they served was shocking—a single fried flatbread with frozen raspberries on top, which they claimed were "pancakes." When I pointed out that this was nothing like pancakes, they brought out a saver pack of Nutella—clearly bought from Costco—and some cream as a fix. The entire experience was a complete disappointment.

They delivered complimentary bread and hummus which we happily tucked into. Then when we ordered, we informed the waiter that two guests had dairy allergies. He then LAUGHED and said there’s dairy in the bread you’re eating. We complained that nothing was said when it was given, and the waiter just laughed and continued to take our order. I then asked if there was any dairy in the dish I had ordered and I was reassured it was fine and contained no dairy. We then waited a long time for our food to come, in which time I noticed on the menu it said if you want a vegan dish you needed to swap the rice for chips. I realised rice was in the dish i ordered and therefore would actually contain dairy. I asked the manager and he said there’s is “a little bit of butter in the rice, only a little bit you will be fine.” I said i have an allergy and will not be fine so it needs to be swapped for chips, which was agreed. The broccoli was cold and had to wait 25 minutes to pay. We refused to pay the service charge that was automatically added to the bill, which required the manager to take our payment. When we explained our reasons for not paying the tip, the manager continued to argue with us saying “how are we supposed to know what allergies people have” - when we had literally asked and been lied to by the waiter regarding allergens. After a long and uncomfortable conversation the service charge was removed. Terrible service do not recommend, I literally had to run to boots to get medication as we had eaten dairy.

We went as a family for breakfast, and it was a terrible experience. There was an incredibly unpleasant smell in the air, and the floors were filthy and greasy. As a pregnant woman, I almost slipped and fell. The female staff member, whether she was a waitress or a manager, I’m not sure, was extremely rude and impatient, offering no help whatsoever. Despite the place not being very crowded, our orders took forever to arrive. The waitstaff were rude and inattentive. I absolutely do not recommend this place—if only I had read the reviews before going, most of them are awful anyway. They lure people in with free jam and clotted cream served with stale bread. The food was carelessly prepared, stale, and tasteless. My stomach still feels upset from the experience.

Sadly, it was one of the worst ever meals and restaurant experiences I've had in my life. On entering the restaurant, the place was very cramped and soulless. The waiting staff looked stressed out and didn't give eye contact ot even small talk. A complimentary "Turkish bread, houmous and olives" are offered on each table. Our version was a single olive, with tough, dried out Turkish bread and very thin and tasteless houmous. The menu is varied, offering Turkish, Italian, and Lebanese food, which seemed exciting. I stupidly ordered the Lamb Tagine as it was branded a "house speciality." What came through was 2 bony, gnarled fatty pieces of lamb, plonked onto a plate with rice, and a single tenderstem broccoli piece! It tasted worse than it looked, and i literally had to wolf it down as I was worried I would otherwise vomit all over myself! We literally finished our meal, waiting 15 minutes for a staff member to make eye contact and get the bill. In that time, we saw 2 tables returning their meals back to the kitchen. I wish I had read the reviews before eating here. Given the state of affairs with hospitality in these times, it breaks my heart to leave a bad review. Big changes needed to this place or a complete shutdown.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting as we both enjoy Turkish food and plus it is halal. The humus and bread comes as an extra which is standard in a Turkish restaurant. The humus lacked in flavour. If I am honest we both felt disappointed with our meals. I ordered a steak with chips and broccoli. It came with one tiny piece of tenderstem broccoli and a bit of mustard. They brought me ketchup??? I asked for a steak sauce but the waiter said they do not do it. I would say the chefs need to work on their presentation of the food, it all looked so basic on the plate, very plain, no garnish, salad, pickles, dips as you would normally get in a Turkish restaurant. It was really busy at around 2pm but I really did not understand why? The toilets were clean but in the middle of the kitchen that looked like it has been in a war and back. Service was OK. but I do agree with others, had to repeat myself a few times so english is at a basic level. I would certainly not go back and would not recommend this place.

Although I was sad that I did not meet Hüseyin Özer in person, I was very happy to get to know the place, its food and its valuable staff. Thank you Sofra Family

I had a friend with me disable and needed the toliet and couldn't go there's no lift and couldn't use the stairs to go down

Atmosphere is nice and cosy. Service is okay apart from the waiter getting food and glasses without a tray. The toilets are absolutely horrific and a nightmare to use due to how dirty they are. The food is absolutely awful and horrible. The kitchen is a filthy mess and right next to the toilets as well. Never coming back! A big disappointment

The food is less than normal and the atmosphere is noisy. The place is very small and there is a lot of noise in the place. The staff are nice but the service is very slow.

Taste, environment, service is very good, know that they have a financial return and they get it 😁

Shocking experience at this place. The service was so poor, I feel like waiters had no clue what are they doing and it was their first day. We ordered 3 soups. 2 came hot, another one cold. After that ordered lahmacun and it was nowhere near how it supposed to be served. They claim to be Turkish but there’s no Turkish style or taste in it. The kitchen and the toilets are disgusting, even McDonald has cleaner toilets. Plus their toilets are almost in their kitchen. A lot of mice droppings on the floor. I was shocked! The only good thing is the location and the views outside.

An excellent restaurant with delicious food, worth a try
