Me and my friends love vinos. We went last night and the bar man, Jay, was absolutely lovely. That guy needs a promotion. Amazing place for cheap cocktails that are definitely delicious. I would 100% recommend.

Posted On Behalf of My Partner. I had booked a table for Mother’s Day, which stated a saxophone player would be playing . We arrived, and the saxophone player played one song and was then replaced by Disney songs, which was a little odd. The starter of Bon bons arrived, and they were cold , the main course of roast beef was extremely chewy could barely cut the meat ! The Yorkshire pudding still frozen, which I didnt expect at a place that claims is fine dining ! The veg and potatoes were hard and could tell it been reheated. I asked to speak to the manager who we had seen in the restaurant but he wouldn’t speak to us, we left hungry and very very disappointed! A real shame.

Well well where do I start ? The Sunday menu 3 course for £25 would have honestly paid that for the desert on its own .. The starter menu all excellent so decided on soup very well presented in a pot bowl with 2 small but very tasty bread .. then the main course of absolutely perfect cooked beef on an equivalent size Yorkshire pudding.. side served with amazing mash potatoes roasted vegetables all that you would expect from a restaurant .. and I'm a BIG eater but failed to finish it ... then the sweet menu.. I would definitely recommend the proseco cheese cake .. all in all a brilliant experience ,definitely going again

Please ignore the negative comments and try this place for yourself. As the name suggests, this place has a fantastic wine list, including the amazing Cline Zinfandel which you really have to try.... The food is superb, it's not cheap but it shouldn't be, it isn't Weatherspoons, it's restaurant. Lancaster needs to realise that we need to eat out more in places like this or we will be stuck with Nandos and McDonald's. Highly recommended and the staff are very attentive, it will not leave you disappointed.

We heard about this new place in town and thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed. Comments suggested it was pricey and it certainly isn't the cheapish eatery. However, we felt that the quality of the food was excellent and represented good value for money. The wines were also very reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive, making the night even more enjoyable.

Visited with friends for the opening week. We were excited to visit a new place in Lancaster that was advertising fine dining and good wines. When we arrived there weren't a lot of people there but that's ok as it was the opening week. We were offered a drink in the bar while we waited for our whole party to arrive which was nice. When we looked at the menu we were a bit taken aback as the food has been advertised as fine dining but it looked more like pub/bistro food. There were fried chicken tenders on the menu which doesn't scream fine dining to me. We ordered starters and a nice bottle of wine to start. The wine was lovely but the portions of the starters were small. They also all seemed to be served with the same sauce even though they were listed with different sauces. The sauce tasted like bistro gravy which was odd. One of our group ordered the Bon Bons which were tiny and hollow which wasnt nice. The mains came and my steak was supposed to come with spiralised fried potato. There was potato on my plate but it was soggy like over cooked noodles and this saw the return of the beef gravy sauce. Which did not match the sauce on the menu. We persevered and ordered deserts and again they were disappointing. A pavlova with no cream and a creme brulee of which the sugar had not been cooked were the highlights. The service was good throughout so I almost regret the 1* review but the food was so poor and overpriced I have no other options.

Popped in for a bite to eat and have to say what a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. I had been here when it was the blue moon, which was also lovely. We had a little chat with the new owner, who was very pleasant and polite, as was our waiter. I will most definitely be coming here again, the food was absolutely spot on, very flavoursome. I couldn't manage a dessert this time, but next time I will certainly be trying out the dessert menu

We went to this place after work for a few drinks, what a lovely atmosphere... warm and inviting. Richard the front of house guy was lovely and could not do enough to keep us happy 🙂 the interior is beautiful and has a lovely warm ambience. Shame that we did not eat anything although complimentary nibbles were given to us and a free cocktail to sample also 👌 We will definitely be back in the very near future. We wish you all the very best of success for vinos. Emily.

At the edge of the river, the George and Dragon stood resolute, welcoming all with its worn sign and warmth like a seasoned friend. Dragonfest 2 unfolded within its embrace, a celebration of sound and colour amid the flickering lights of the evening. The bands performed with raw energy, their music flowing like the river that lapped against the quay. Each note filled the air with a fervour, irresistible and alive. The cocktails glimmered in their glass prisons, each one a promise of delight that did not shy from its duty. We found ourselves captivated by the fire eater, a wild figure who danced with flames. It was bold, almost brash, the way she summoned fire and played with danger. With an uncanny grin, she gave fellatio to the blazing poles, an act that should have been absurd yet felt right in the revelry of the night. The crowd gasped, laughed, and cheered, united in an adrenaline-soaked moment of shared madness. It was the sort of spectacle that would linger in the mind like smoke in the air long after the flames had died down. In the midst of this chaos, I ordered the Dragon fries, a concoction that reflected the spirit of the fest itself. They arrived steaming and heaped high, smothered in a rich chili con carne and scattered with daring chili peppers, their heat mingling with the lingering joy of the night. Each bite was a calculated risk and each mouthful tasted of indulgence—the perfect companion to the music that throbbed through the air. The fries added a grounding essence to the wildness around me, a reminder that even amid the extraordinary, one must savour the simplest pleasures. As the stars emerged above, the night drew long and memories were forged in laughter and song. Five stars are too few for the experience at the George and Dragon's Dragonfest 2. The bands played on, the cocktails refreshed, and amidst the swirling fire and music, we were all momentarily set free. In that splendid disarray, we were reminded of the buoyancy of life, of living boldly and embracing whatever strange joys the night may offer.
