Had a couple of drinks in the bar which looks like it has been renovated recently. The drinks were very good value and served and presented in a nine way

This is a great place to stay.The rooms are lovely and spacious and very clean,we had a lovely sea view .The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is lovely and very well presented, the Sunday roast is delicious 😋

Me and my husband decided to try here for a Sunday roast and my god it was amazing, I had the roast and he had the chicken kabab, why we didn't discover the food here before today is totally crazy, would recommend to anyone, delicious food and great attentive staff, we will definitely be back!

A friend and I went for early dinner last night 7th Dec. We both had fish and chips. It was terrible we both were disappointed. Chef was told and barman came back saying everything was fine. Dismissed us out of hand. Batter of fish not fully cooked, mushy peas not mushy and yellow in colour. Chips not fully cooked nor crispy. To make matters worse we were the only people eating in bar and he couldn't get it right. Couldn't be bothered to get it right.

Very expensive .... I ordered a mojti they told me part way through making the drink they had no mint. This is a vital ingredient of the drink so it just didn't taste right and still charged me £9!!! As we were leaving someone ordered 1pt lager and 2 halves total £14.10 seems we're paying for the decor it has nothing else to offer. Very sad a local bar is charging so much

Been into the Royal previously for cocktails, however came in today for food, the menu had plenty of options & good pricing. The food itself was very enjoyable. The staff could not of been more friendly & accommodating. Will happily be returning & recommending for food

Called in for an excellent full English breakfast ! Slick service nice individual tea pots, good service . Breakfast appeared red hot and on hot plates . It was pretty busy for a wet Monday! Highly recommend

Neely refurbished very smart bar ! Professional service, spotlessly clean Now serving breakfast from 9 and good all day. I had a very tasty bacon chop served with a really nice sauce . Highly recommend! 🍴🍷

Went into the bar for a drink with a friend. The bar has been refurbished, and it’s beautiful … reminded me very much of The Ivy. We had non-alcoholic cocktails that were really good, the staff were very friendly, the place had a lovely ambience. I would most definitely go back. No food at the moment, but I know they are working on bringing it back. Classy joint

A proper pub with a good selection of real ales and beers, spotless, pleasant service. I ordered home made chicken leek and ham pie, very nice and all clearly home made. Highly recommended

First day open . Had great beer and lovely fish and chips. Excellent portion well cooked. This Is a great pub , live music Friday Saturday and Sunday. Give it go

I upgraded to the Haddock and paid £3 more - I wish I hadn't bothered. When it arrived the chips looked great, mushy peas, well they're mushy peas but the battered haddock wasn't worth battering as there was hardly any haddock inside of it. I told the woman in charge and she said......wait for it......"that's how they come"....lol. There's a bad price, a fair price and a good price for things that are bought and sold - and that depends on whether you're a buyer or seller. This was a good price for the pub and a bad price for me....a rip off. Well cooked but a rip off which they should address. Places like this rely and survive of repeat custom.

stayed here on a Sunday night, the bar staff were very friendly and helpful. easy check in and room was great.We had a top floor sea view room. very basic but clean bedding and towels. large tv and tea and coffee making facilities with a well stocked basket of sachets. Our room was surprisingly quiet considering we were above a bar. great sea view room. Excellent value for money and free live entertainment in the bar on Sunday evening. if you like modern travel lodge style rooms don't stop here it's quaint and quirky but clean and functional with nice friendly staff.

Went in Friday afternoon and it was quiet returned on a busy match day...what a difference...place was heaving.Recommended by a local we went for the £5 lunch time special.I had the steak pie and Mrs E the chicken...both spot on.Good food piping hot and a fantastic price.Girls who were serving were friendly and efficient.

We didn’t eat but what others were being served looked good and plentiful and not much was left. It’s a nice old place with a good selection of drinks. Couldn’t take a photo inside because people would have been in it. Would recommend.

Had a evening meal here and must say the food was very good and good price the staff are very good always asking if everything ok with your food and if we wanted anything else a credit to the place unfortunately it would of got a full rating but decorations let it down badly

go at lunch between 12 and 2.15 the royal has a 5.00 pound menu and a full menu the food is coked on the premises lovely and fresh they also have a upstairs if the bar area is full if not booked

They do a £5 meal menu on a Monday and Tuesday evening, as well as during the day. Well for £5 you can not get a better deal. I had Cumberland sausage mash and onion gravy. It was lovely, 2 big tasty sausages, real mashed potatoes, peas, carrots and a gravy to die for. The wife had Scampi and chips, can't say what that was like as she ate it all. , And wouldn't share. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Went today for lunch, this is where we always eat when we visit morecambe. Good variety on menu with great prices. The meals from the £5 menu are amazing value. My mum is super demanding (she’s actually sent an egg back for being the wrong shade of white before now) however the staff always do whatever she asks and never lose patience with her (more than my dad can do!). Would definitely try to eat in upstairs dining room for views of the bay which are breathtaking. A hidden gem, highly recommended- thanks to everybody who served us today!

the hotel room was badly decorated, the furnishing was poor, room service was very poor, towel were not changed in our 3 day stay, even after asking for clean towels, bed was not made properly, heated towel rail kept fall down

came into the royal with my mum for some lunch, we found a table & I headed to the bar to get some drinks we chose a gin & appetizer & a lemon tonic! Went back to look at the menu, my mum ordered the potted shrimps & I got the platter on the £5 menu! the food was delicious, lovely environment & will highly recommend:)

Was out for a drive out and asked a couple of people for a recommendation to eat, this was mentioned straight away both times. Large Car Park on the Sea Front a short walk away. Quick stop to get a Photo of Eric Morecambe and in we went.

Great stay and great hospitality and an excellent place to unwind with a bite to eat over drinks. Location is superb and we will be returning after our jaunt into the Lake District National Park. Thanks everybody

We were staying in Th is hotel while on holiday visiting Morecambe we had a meal in the evening ordered garlic mushrooms &garlic; bread these starters arrived hot and quick both very tasty meals enjoyed them alot .

Brought my friends who were visiting from the south in the summer. We all had £5 lunch meals. It was a little bit of a wait, but well worth it (there was a large party upstairs). My friends loved it and want to go back.

another visit to the Royal for Sunday lunch .Good choice of beers plenty of options on the menu but the beef is always first choice ! Friendly staff and fast service . We will be back !

Booked a table for 7 the Sunday before Christmas. We pre-ordered our meals and everything went perfectly.

Always a good vibe with good service and drinks inside or out!! You can always count on the "locals" giving you a warm welcome also

Nice food and cheap on the fiver lunch menu. We had been a few times but this occasion was met by a very rude owner. Ordered drinks, starters and mains. The drinks came then the starters AND the mains all came at the same time. The mains were sent back. We are the starters then the mains came out, the salad garnishes, coleslaw and tartare sauce was all hot and the gravy and pie was soggy with a skin on. We asked if they were made fresh and was told they'd been kept under the hotplate. We weren't happy and complained to the waitress. The owner came out and said we'd pay for what We had eaten and drunk and took the mains away saying keeping food under the hotplate for over 20 mins is fine and doesn't cause harm. She said the waitress had said we asked for the mains and starters to be brought out together - we didn't, and that we wanted refunds - we didn't, we just wanted fresh food. The owner also said we should have gone to Wetherspoons. So we ended up paying £34 for drink and starter each and having to find somewhere else for our mains which ended up being Wetherspoons which worked out better value and bigger meals.(2 meals for £8.29). We will never be back. Such rude service.

Always busy and a bit edgier than some of the pubs me and my friends go into. Sometimes it can be so loud with the bands that my brain fries, but the drinks are good, its not expensive and on the weekend its a good meet up point.

I am in a whhelchair and when i tried to get into the Royal bar i could'nt as there was 3 steps into the bar.

A friendly well run pub. Clean and modern with reasonable prices. The food is excellent and a novel range of classic and modern food. What I found strange is that they don't seem to promote the food in the main downstairs bar; instead encourage you to eat in the upstairs restraunt. Unfortunately this room is a bit soul-less and cold by comparison to downstairs.

Wonderfully re-furbished, great new menu, fabulous craft ales, great value for money! Right on the main promenade with fantastic views over Morecambe Bay. Live bands on Friday / Saturday evenings!

Ate here today with my wife for a quick lunch. She had salad and I ordered on the £5 menu. Excellent value for money and quality; portions really good for the price paid.

We called in yesterday, 3 adults and 2 children.

We often visit when we are tired after work and we have never had a bad meal here which is is very rare! The lamb shanks are to die for and the savoury puddings are divine! Tonight I tried the garlic and chilli chicken pasta bake and it was out of this world! The gin selections are also fantastic and the staff are always friendly. I cannot fault this place 10/10 every time!

Tried to change pint, I offered to pay for something diffent as the one I wanted tasted a bit funny. The response from the women behind the bar was "I've served this beer all day with no problems maybe you should try somewhere else." Terrible service and terrible attitude.

Great bar on Morecambe sea front in town centre. Great variety of beers with plenty of local real ales. Good choice of food, cheap but plentiful & very tasty. Well worth a visit if you're looking to chill.

We were very impressed with the food and the prices of the food when we ate at The Royal. The restaurant was really busy and the staff dealt with this very well. Don't be put off by the pub itself the food is really good and there are excellent specials and a good variety of choice. The seafood cold platter I had was excellent

Me and Mr B realised we had nothing to do this weekend so I found a room here for £36. It was sea view too

Called in for their fiver lunch time offer. Plenty of choices to have and the food was excellent. Great atmosphere in this pub, well worth a visit. Real ales on offer at good prices.

Called in for lunch and were delighted with the £5 menu. Also the pub has lots of interesting original features and cosy seating downstairs. We looked upstairs but it was not as nice, more like a canteen and some uncomfortable-looking stools.

There £5 menu is great food is lovely and plenty of it .Also there Roast dinner are amazing ,very friendly staff and good service xx

Soy quisquilloso con la comida y un escritor a veces comida. £5 no esperaba mucho, pero mi comida tarta de queso estaba deliciosa. Y un chef que ofrece papas fritas caseras y col y agrega la vinagreta balsámica de una ensalada de hojas cuidadosamente seleccionados merece un reconocimiento.

Visited the Royal on a Wednesday night for drink and dinner. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good value with good chicken, leak and Stilton pie with very good chips. Venue needs a bit of a clean up or move the smokers away from the terrace otherwise a decent venue for a pint. Large screen TVs to watch Wimbledon was good.

Very noisy, and better ventilation needed on hot days. Food was ok and we had to wait a while but were warned when we got there.

The Royal has a reasonably priced menu anyway but when we sat down we were presented with a "fiver" menu. There was loads of choice on this menu - and all for a fiver! Most of us ordered from this menu and we weren't disappointed! A great portion of lovely food! When you think of other chain type pubs that offer similar prices, there is no comparison in terms of quality. The staff were also very friendly and happy and the pub has lovely views upstairs. Will certainly be back....

Saturday evening live music was very good.The atmosphere was the best in town.Drinks were good priced also.Highly recommend for Saturday entertainment.

The hotel / pub is definitely old world - I suspect original and so makes for a good drinking pub. Spacious and neat clean and tidy with excellent staff who are all smiles and making sure everything is ok. The food is a very good average and gives the feeling of home made (possibly) Certainly not expensive and for the price a very good offering. Not the tastiest or full of flavour but at the price ............One mustnt complain! All very eatable and well presented.

Very nice, we had a few beers and a shared plank, the food was good and the beer was very good too, the staff were pleasant so if I lived in this area I would deffo go back

Just came for a drink, decided to have Sunday roast. We were not disappointed, lovely veg cooked just right and the beef was perfect. Back ground music, lovely staff. Good beer reasonable prices.

Great place for a good Quality Sunday dinner. We are now regulars and alwayfind the food consistent and staff helpful and polite.

Had potted shrimps to start, fish and chips and 2 pints of juice for 16 pound, shrimps were fresh and tasty, Served With bread, fish n chips were spot on, homemade chips, homemade battered fish, with mushy peas and tartare sauce, good presentation, and perfect portion size, waitresses were polite and helpful too,

They have got it bang on in the royal, good food, great beer, good atmosphere, a good crowd, good mix of young and old, live music every weekend, friendly staff happy days! Proper decent boozer!

Disappointed after a fairly long wait our food eventually came. I had a hair in my food so called the waitress after examining the hair we were told nobody in the kitchen had blonde hair. My meal was eventually replaced by which time my friend had finished hers. We saw at least two waitresses with fair hair one which was very unkempt. We were told that there was no readdress as the meal had been replaced. Such a shame as the food was good but as locals we will not return with the attitude of the chef. The young girl behind the bar was very apologetic and polite.

This is a good place with decent food and a good selection of drinks especially for beer drinkers.This visit did not disappoint only one glitch asked for gravy separatly and it came smothered in it. The waitress did offer to take it back though.would recommend

Me and my partner have eaten here a few times now at lunch time and we find the food,service and price to be excellent. The food is home made really good quality and I would recommend anyone to try the food here. Staff are very friendly and for a main course and drinks for 2 coming under £25 I don't think you can fault it.

Called in for some grub , the main menu and the fiver deal ( smaller portions) were available. A good few in mostly eating which is a go sign. Location is on the sea front. Both sky sports and bt sports on for the sports fans. Steak pie and chips ordered and can't fault it very enjoyable. Very clean place and helpful staff.

Love this place for Sunday lunch. They have an amazing chef. Meat cooked to perfection. I had beef, smaller portion because you get loads. Husband had steak pie. He said it was full of tender meat and tasted superb. Staff are great too. We go most Sunday's.

Cheap clean pub Poilte staff Cheap homemade food and excellent portions. Couldn't fault the place at all and will most certainly recommend and call again when next in the area

Have had some great nights in this place worth a visit!!! These guys have live bands, serve good pub food and good value on the drinks too!!!

We often pop in for a beer or two it's a great pub and they have some great live music on at the weekends. We have eaten here many times the food is excellent.

we stayed here for 2 nights on a special deal of £40 a night . It looked ok on the website but in fact is a pretty dingy pub with rooms above . Ours was up 3 flights of stairs and it did say no lift , but no assistance with our cases either as the reception was the one barman there.the room was small , the bed uncomfortable and not long enough for me , the bathroom and shower was ok .not for me again .

We have been here 5 or 6 times since my last review.Just paid another visit a Sunday and a roast best roast dinner anywhere round here We have been during the week as well and it has been consistently good food.It is now our default place to take guests and all seem happy with it.

We came here for dinner, on a Sunday, and had the Sunday roast. Excellent value for money, and superb roast it was too. Great evening with a really good enjoyable local band playing.

Three of us had lunch today off the £5 menu. I had the gammon with real cut chips, salad and coleslaw. The salad had a nice dressing and the gammon was ok, although a little fatty. My wife had the scampi. Mum chose the chicken escalope. They were obliging enough to change the chips for mash, and the salad for nice seasonal veg. The service was good, the food appeared promptly, and the portions just right. We were surprised that they were unable to serve sparkling water and so we had to be content with tap water. We were in the dining room and had a window table with lovely views onto the bay. The place was quiet considering it was the height of the season.

Had a great night sleep and it's good value for money. We did book for a sea view room but as we paid the same price either way we weren't too fussed to bring it up. Practically opposite Eric Morecambe statue which is of course the tourist novelty must!

We really like the royal food but once again the staff let it down. Things were missing off the starter, she didn't mention this until we asked her about it-just a sorry we've run out is that ok etc. The main courses were ok apart from the burger which was under cooked-they shouldn't be especially for a child.

I came here with my friend today for a couple of drinks and lunch. The wine was very nice and my friend enjoy the lagers. I had a very nice chicken and Stilton pie , however my friends sunday lunch was sadly below average. The menu however is outstanding and so we will visit again, especially with my pie being so good but the Sunday dinner could of easily be done at home so maybe order something else

Stopped here for lunch and drinks on a Friday afternoon. The 5er menu is an absolute bargain - think it only runs through lunch times. I ordered scampi and homemade chips whilst my partner had steak pie and mash. The food was faultless and a huge portion to say it was only £5. Drinks not too pricey either - had a meal and two drinks for only £15. Perfect Friday lunch.

Stopped here and was ok. Today came in . Manager on phone ignoring customers . Get served with young girl and halfway through serving me the manager calls her to the celler to change a barrel. Training!. Leaving me with a half done pint . Me waiting and a young girl that doesn.t know the time of day . Gone downhill recently for some reason

Food was okay - nothing too special, but I don't expect something super special from bar food. Service was very quick and very friendly.

Sunday lunch with family, 11 of us. Everyone enjoyed their meals, cheese & onion pie was a big hit, as was the gammon, burger, and chicken dishes and so on. I had the roast beef, lovely tender meat not stringy (unlike some places I could mention) with yorkshire pud, veg, gravy and mash! Service was excellent and food well cooked, will go again.

Really nice food, best place for food in Morecambe easily. We have now been twice in the last week and will definitely be back again soon

Had a large family lunch here on a Sunday. Service was good. Food was great with not one complaint from anyone in the family. First time and will definitely be returning.

Very friendly welcome, bar man offered me a number of different guest ales and suggested a very tasty blonde beer. Clean and tidy and food wasn't bad either. Steak and ale pie was gorgeous!

Nice extensive menu. Cheese and Onion Pie was nice. I can only say nice as not very cheesy, more potato. Partners Sirloin Steak was cooked rare as requested. Peppercorn Sauce was yummy. Black Pudding starter was also very nice. I'd go back to try something else off the menu

Visited recently for lunch with friends. Have been here a few times and have always had nice meals, and today was no exception. We all opened for a light lunch, and had the salad bowls, which were all totally scrummy . Our only tiny, teeny weeny gripe is that the coffee machine was kaput, so we had to forgo our caffeine fix before departing, but we still had a lovely catch up in this gorgeous pub

My husband and I ate here for lunch, great service and the food was delicious. There is a lot to choose from. I had the cheese and onion pie and my husband had the burger and both were great. We have been going in this pub for years but not had anything to eat. The place itself is very relaxed and clean. Plenty of TV's showing sports etc.There isn't a lot of places in Morecambe that offers good food and value for money but this place does so will def return.

We go to the Royal on a regular basis if we want to guarantee getting a good meal. The food and service is always good, and it is good value for money.

Yet another great roast beef lunch, the meat was so tender and the gravy delicious. My Wife enjoyed her Yorkshire pud so much I ordered another which came filled with gravy. Highly recommended.
