Vino Vino in Wirral

Not sure what’s happened since our last order 3 days prior to yesterday but the food was t so great yesterday. The lasagna was a very small portion and covered in a sort of cheese soup. Not appealing. The funghi risotto also was mediocre and was the same pink colour as the lasagna sauce. It lacked flavour. It seems they forgot to use mince or tomato in the lasagna ragu. The pizza was the highlight but not by much. Need to do better for the risottos and lasagna which is the staple of any italian.

Pizzas, muscles and arancini balls. Enjoyable meal. Tasty pizza and my partner loved the muscles.

A brilliant little family run restaurant, the food we had was amazing, well worth a visit. Plenty of options on the menu and reasonably priced too.

I had a delivery via uber eats. I have previously ordered from this restaurant before over a year ago and it was nice then however today it arrived and not only have I wasted £20 of my hard earned cash, the 2 pizzas where tiny and they where on shop bought pizza bases that asda could have made better and I guarantee would have tasted nicer from asda. Awful pizzas for the price you are overcharging. Shocking

A beautiful little Italian restaurant and perfect for a romantic evening for two. We came in on a Thursday night and ordered from the set two course menu...absolutely smashing value for money!! My partner had risotto balls starter and steak for main and I had the spicy meatballs and scampi for main The scampi was amazing as were the meatballs HOWEVER I was left very jealous by my partners steak...talk about ideally cooked and served My honest conclusion is this is a gem of a eatery and definitely must visit if you want a good evening night out

Is this real italian food? Frozen calamari ball thing 4 of them :| the pizza was poor, undercooked dough and no flavour to tomato sauce or the entire pizza to be honest, tiramisu was ok but very small for the very expensive cost. I would go as far to say that this was the worst “authentic” italian ive ever had, i will never eat here again and nore should you!

This is the second time we have been with-in a month and first time my husband meal not what it said on the menu but he said it was ok and tonight we both went my meal fine but again my husband ok not enough sauce on his pasta and not many meat ball, when given our bottle of wine just put on table but we noticed the next group of guests there’s were put in a carafe , these small touches mean a lot to me. Think we will leave going for a while.

Quiet restaurant for obvious reasons. Carbonara was watery, used supermarket ham slices and jar sauce. Pizza bases weren’t homemade and clearly shop bought with the toppings thrown on. Overall poor food, better off going into Liverpool and getting freshly made food for less money.

I chose 3* because this was 'OK', and OK summed it up really. Good points - the blue cheese sauce was awsome, the garlic gread was pretty good & the mushrooms were good. The pizza base just isnt right, it's a touch better than a bought in one but far from a proper italian restaurant pizza base, it was too bread like and had none of the wood fired characteristics. It sat firmly in the middle of thin and deep, a bit of 'no mans land' and it totally lacked personality. A hotter oven would have helped. The pizza was also very small as in other reviews, I read these so ordered an additional one and it was ample in quantity. The salad was awful mass bagged cheap leaves and old tomatoes. Really poor. Personally I think the cost was OK for restaurant quality food, I think the quality just missed the mark. Unless it improves we wouldnt be back for takeout or to the actual restaurant now we know. You can get OK food cheaper and better food for a similar price point.

I found vino vino to be excellent quality. The venue was relaxing and authentic. The value was exceptional for the quality of the food. I will be returning here regularly. Not to mention the lovely exceptionally attentive staff.

I can’t recommend this place enough. The welcome as you come through the door from the owner and his new found superstar waiter (Jacob) is second to none in the area. We had family down for the weekend who all agreed it was one of the most lovely Italian meals they’d had. The carbonara was out of this world and the Bolognese and lasagna were just as good. We’ll return again and again as the prices and service are so so good. Jacob the waiter is a superstar and made so much effort with us and especially our little daughter who he kept entertained. He’s an absolute credit to vino vino’s and his family who should be super proud. Top night, top people, go visit 😀

Carbonara was inedible, it is flavourless but also had a weird aftertaste. Pizza is tiny, same size as a garlic bread. Not worth the money. And the risotto balls, tasted nice but such a small portion. Overall I would not eat here again. Poor food, very small portions and over priced.

The food considering it comes from a restaurant is very very poor, not value for money the portions are shocking considering the price. If I was sat in a restaurant and recieved what I've got it would of been sent back and I would of found somewhere else to spend nearly £50. Not happy at all.

Pizza was tasty and I enjoyed, unfortunately all the topping had slid to one side of the box in transport so I had to do my best to reconstruct what would of otherwise been a good pizza 🍕

The high quality of the food in the restaurant was not lost when takeaway version. Arrived fresh and still steaming.

Booked 12th November 2022 food was excellent as usual and staff very attentive. Will come again soon never had a bad meal here and have been coming since my children where small, they always had there birthday meal here until they where about 22. Always great service

Something has changed, and for the worse. My family and I have come here for years and used to love it, but recently it has been incredibly disappointing. Prawn pasta was unforgivable - no garlic, olive oil, or chilli sauce as listed on the menu, just spaghetti in a tasteless tomato paste with prawns that tasted like they died last century. Couldn't bring myself to eat it. Vino vino used to have such a home-made feel but this was dire. The garlic pizza bread and the lasagne are the only things worth getting if you do go, but even then the lasagne has got smaller but the price stayed the same.. Honestly quite sad for a restaurant that used to be such a classic favourite...

I have gone there 3 times, and this last one was incredibly disappointing. I asked for this pasta with prawns that I thought was going to be delicious, but it was completely tasteless... it was so disappointing, and it costs £10.90!. It should cost £5 if that... And also the coke was warm. Very sad

Very quiet tonight. Probably because of the bus strike. Lovely waitresses. Great food. Always a good meal in Vino Vino.

The staff are wonderful the food amazing all home made from main courses to deserts. Tea time special is the best value for money.

The meals a really nice and so are the waiters but there isnt many options for people who either dont eat meat or who dont like it. Other than that this is a great place to go and have an evening meal

Great experience , my husband had a soup of the day and it was tomato soup, absolutely delicious. I had a garlic bread and was fine. For a main we had risotto and spaghetti alla carbonara. 5 star meals. We will be back :)

Absolutely adore this restaurant! I had the Arancini to start and it was absolutely divine! Perfect size, flavour and quantity. Would highly recommend as a starter. I had chicken pollo as a main and absolutely cooked to perfection! Amazing staff, friendly atmosphere and perfect eatery in liscard.

Visited again on 17/2, we both had steak and they were cooked to perfection, we highly recommend Vino Vino as the service is always excellent and reasonably priced for the quality of the food, we will be returning again soon

Went for the first time and had the early dinner meal. Garlic mushrooms in creamy sauce was just a bowl of oily mushrooms swimming in cream. Arancini was just 4 little balls clearly bought frozen from a shop and quickly fried, noting like an actual Italian arancini. Pizza is not homemade, was worse than a kebab shop pizza which is saying something. Carbonara was alright but was clearly a jar of sauce used and not a homemade one. Would not ever recommend and certainly won't be returning.

My hubby and I are regulars at Vino Vino. Always made to feel very welcome and the food is always lovely (I am a mega fan of their cannelloni) and the atmosphere very relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpful and a special mention here to Suzanne who always looks after us. A lovely lady x

Had a lovely birthday meal for my son-in-law tonight. Their pizzas are to die for! Staff were very friendly and always on hand. There were 8 of us and food was made and served quickly. Well done for a great evening!

Went in stood for 10 minutes, waiting for someone to come and seat us. He strolls out on his phone. Poor quality of pizza base was shop bought poor toppings. Garlic mushrooms swimming in oil. We got a last minute table on bank holiday Monday, our mains were fantastic, three of us had fillet steak which were just perfect 👌 one had a chicken dish. All our plates went back empty. Staff all great considering we were quite tipsy and im sure we made are selves known. (Sorry) will defo be back for them steaks.

I have been visiting vino vino now for many years for a variety of occasions, from birthdays and date nights to just a cheeky meal out. In terms of being objective for the point of a review I cannot say that vino vino is the fanciest or most modern restaurant on the Wirral. However, having sampled nearly all of the menu I can safely say that the food is always top notch and there a great selection to satisfy whatever your in the mood for. My favourite is the veal. Which same as most of the menu is a sold at a much better price than other more common venues. Being such a small venue it’s always had a homely and relaxed feel for myself. The staff are always friendly and polite. Never waited to get anyone’s attention and the owner is always there to oversee everything and be an attentive and entertaining host. Nowhere better for me. Right next to the Wetherspoons, it has been an ever too common ‘fancy a vino vino’ night. My home away from home, would recommend my regular to all !

Me and my family visited vino vino last night and still with being so busy we received GREAT service and we all were very happy and will 100% be back. we had a garlic bread cheese for starters and pasta for mains. These were absolutely unreal! The staff were especially so friendly towards our table! We will definitely be back , Thank you!

First time visiting, will not be returning. Calamari starter was plain not flavoured as on the menu. Had seafood risotto. Seafood was very chewy and not much of it. Wife had a strange chicken dish for mains. Not very nice. Then as soon as we finished was asked to move table to accommodate a party of 10 waiting at the door. Early tea time £12.95 offer was not available.

We used to frequent the restaurant on a fairly regular basis but I think we’ll be giving it a swerve until they either reinstate their old chef or get cooking lessons for the new one. The usually chorizo laden sauce for the chicken looked like watery chicken soup and the breast was half the size of the usual serving, and very dry. I realise restaurants are having a hard time but the standard of food is what keeps you open. The service, as usual, was great but the food needs sorting out, and soon. I’d hate to see another good restaurant go under.

There’s obviously been a change in the kitchen. We’ve eaten here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed, but our recent visit was a great disappointment. The Pollo a Creme was absolutely dire. The missus loves this meal and regularly orders her go to favourite. Unfortunately, the Creme looked like an insipid can of chicken soup and the usual pieces of chorizo that adorn the sauce had to be requested. The chunks came in slices and the normally large, moist chicken breast was half the size and very dry. I understand that restaurants are having a particularly difficult time of it at the moment but there’s no excuse for the poor food we received. Hopefully, the old chef will return or the management will pay for some cooking lessons. Let’s see what the future holds.

Food is bland my garlic bread pizza dough not cooked garlic creamy mushrooms so bland not looking forward to next course only broccoli n carrots no choose of potatoes looks like cheap pub food will not be back!! Staff great wine ok food I will not be returning

Visited vino vino tonight for my anniversary, it's Not the best Italian I have been to, didn't like to complain under the climate were in. Ribs were lovely, garlic bread was ok but not very garlicky, garlic mushrooms were not garlicky or tasty, olives were not nice, lasagne had lumps of white bits in, they brought a margarita pizza out realised it wasn't what my husband ordered and it came back out with pepperoni and salami on, the tiramusu was in a cup and wasnt strong enough tasting.

Went to vino vino with family, disappointed! Staff not the best,food good! Went to toilet no running water to wash hands!!!! No other means to wash or sanatise, told owner who could only tell us that they were very busy,very poor especially in this day and age! Sorry to give negative review but very disappointed!!

Been eating at Vino Vino for many years, and haven't had a single bad meal to date. Owner is a lovely guy, and the staff are always so pleasant. My regular haunt, and isn't going to change any time soon!

We went to Vino Vino by recommendation. There was a good choice on the menu at a very reasonable price. 4 of us were eating and each of the three courses we ordered were delicious.The staff were friendly and we all enjoyed the whole experience.

Just had a wonderful meal at this friendly, family run restaurant. Great to find a true Italian restaurant with authentic food we will be returning!

Been coming here for 18 years now and never ever had any complaints. The food is gorgeous, the best lasagne ever made, the staff are always so friendly and great with my kids.

Me and my husband decided to try here and we are so glad we did! Such a lovely warm, welcoming and friendly place. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were so nice, attentive but not in your face! You can tell the staff really care about their restaurant. It appears to be family run and this is reflected in the quality service they provide. There was a couple of large parties in and the staff were apologetic but there was no need to be as this only added to the atmosphere and if u go out in December surely this is to be expected?! This will equally be lovely to visit when it is quieter but we are not bothered whether we are the only people in there or it's full to the brim! Can not recommend this place highly enough. Also worth noting that the prices are very reasonable. Definitely be returning here. You will not be disappointed

Having moved out of the area five years ago, we ate her a month ago and found our friend Abi to still be the proprietor, so we visited again on a very cold and wet Wednesday evening.His welcome was as warm as ever, and we spent a lovely couple of hours catching up and enjoying his wonderful Italian food.My wife and I had a carafe of house white, cannelloni, meatballs with penne, and garlic bread.No room for puds, so we had a liquer coffees and a grappa to finish.Outstanding food and service as always, great to meet up again and see that the quality is as good as ever; please support local businessses and give Vino Vino a try, it's excellent value for money.

We fairly regularly visit Vino Vino and have never had a complaint. Service, food and ambiance are all excellent and have even had Christmas Dinners there. I have to make mention of the Pate starter. The best pate I have ever eaten. On talking to the owner I found out that he makes it himself to his own recipe, highly recommended

i was at the restaurant a couple of days ago and once again they just wow me! all the staff there and wonderful and what can i say about the food ! the food comes perfect time and it tastes unreal. the staff are so welcoming and they honestly make sure that are are happy. i will definitely be back again

Been coming to Vino Vino for over 10 years and love it so much. We come usually for special occasions or if we fancy a good Italian meal. Always so welcoming, and I have never had a bad meal here. The early tea time menu is a great deal. My favourite place!
