Vincenzo Trattoria in Manchester

A nice late lunch in Manchester but I can't recommend the pizza. It's done better in most chains like pizza express etc. The pizza base was too thick and just a basic heavy bread and the toppings were lacking flavour. The other meals looked great though. Service was good and had a chilled atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant with astonishing food. Delicious and affordable for the level provided. I tasted Ravioli Aragosta (Lobster Ravioli, Chef’e Special), which turned out to be very lovely. That was a majestic combination of tender lobster ravioli and creamy-tomato sauce. Moreover, me and my friends ordered Pizza Prosciutto e funghi, lasagna emiliane and paccheri con salisiccia (photos added), all of which were great. Service was great, with different servers responsive for drinks and food. We only ordered tap water, which was served with ice. Food was server hot (especially lasagna) and fast (around 10-15 minutes for 4 dishes). Atmosphere was immaculate, with subtle Italian music in the background with soothing greenery around the place. Definitely worth a visit and plan on coming back soon.

More or less every time I come back to Manchester I go to this restaurant. In fact, I celebrated my 50th here The food is great The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is really great Real authentic Italian in the heart of Manchester Need I say more

This was a real treat- we ordered the truffle risotto, prawn risotto,tomato garlic bread and the tiramisu and everything was absolutely divine. One of the best Italians I’ve had in the Uk and not only was the food good… but the staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive. Rose in particular was a pleasure to speak to and her energy is infectious. Made us feel right at home!! Would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of Italy in Manchester- shame I didn’t get any photos…probably because the food was just too good!!!

We visited to celebrate our son’s birthday. He’d chosen the restaurant after walking by one day and feeling like it was somewhere he’d want to try. The food and the atmosphere were great. The waiters were really friendly and attentive and we had a lovely time.

What fantastic food and service we received. All food freshly made to order. Well worth a visit when in Manchester. The atmosphere was fantastic. A young man named Simon served us and he couldn't of made are visit more enjoyable and special.

The restaurant is very cozy and perfect for a date night. The food is delicious, offering both vegetarian and vegan options and the portion sizes are really generous. A big thank you to Rosa, Stef and Cassie for making out dinner experience even better. Their services was amazing and their friendly approach added to our night. I would definitely come back.

My first visit today and I am pleased to share that it was a great experience. Stef was very welcoming & provided excellent service. Rosa was outstanding and went above and beyond , which made our lunch one to remember. Rosa is truly awesome remembering all the orders in her head and did not faulter on anything! Thank you, will most certainly be back.

Tremendous evening, good quality meals and ingredients are fresh

The service attitude is terrible. Even if there are no customers in the restaurant, they won't let you sit at a table for four. It's a spicy chicken thing.

Lovely little interior, absolutely shocking service. We waited for 20 minutes after our bread and olives before our plates were even cleared then another 10 minutes for food to arrive, it just went downhill from there. In the end we were in there for two and half hours just waiting for food, at one point my husband had to ask where our main courses were. Worst service we've had in a long time, food was ok at best, would not recommend.

Great atmosphere, very good food with generous portions, good value, and the absolute best service with 3-4 waiters taking care of you at all times. We spent a good amount per person, but admittedly pushed the boat out a bit with the food and cocktails. We’ll be back!

Great little place in Manchester! Just happened to google this place and it had amazing reviews. A cute little restaurant with cute tables in the middle running through a wall which was unique. Food was amazing we had a few starters and mains and the staff were super helpful and friendly!!! Highly recommended!!!

An unpleasant welcoming was saved by a great member of the restaurant’s team. I arrived at the restaurant with my wife and two daughters on Sunday as we were meeting some friends there. As we walked in, my wife spotted our friends and was heading towards their table when one of the staff members, a lady with short hair and American accent, almost jumped in front of my wife saying repeatedly “No, No, No ma’am, you cannot enter with a pram!” We tried explaining that we would need the pram next to our table as the baby was sleeping but she said it was absolutely impossible. When my wife said that this is the first time she heard about something like this, the lady told said that if we would have called she would have informed us beforehand. Then she continued by saying the classic never to be said phrase in customer service, “It’s Not Our Fault”. As we were already very hungry, though upset, we complied and left the pram at the front of the restaurant. Putting this aside, our night continued perfectly thanks to a gentleman who waited our table throughout the full evening, a very pleasant individual from Italy. This man was everything that you would hope for and more in terms of kindness, respect, competence, good humor, politeness. He handled the situation of having to engage with upset customers masterfully. He approached us after a few minutes allowing us to calm down a bit, engaged us with smiles and showing a lot of patience in going through the menu for us and brought me the best coffee I always wanted in a restaurant but never received until then (a perfect in-between an espresso and an americano). At one point he even made the extra effort of speaking to the manager and offer a solution for the pram situation. If anyone from management is reading this, please value and take care of this gentleman who is working there as he is an extremely strong and important part of your restaurant’s team. In doing so you might also consider talking to the lady I mentioned in the first part of my review as the only thing she managed to do is make her colleagues evening a bit more difficult than it should have been but which he managed with grace. Food is absolutely delicious as well as the atmosphere which is lovely.

Very friendly Staff, Food was phenomenal and the pricing was fair. The drinks were fresh and the Peroni on tap was lovely. Sang happy birthday for My Partner and provided us our own romantic booth.

Gorgeous food and lovely service.

Been twice - the 1st time the food and service was very good and we both had a good time. The 2nd time - 2nd February was a different story. Poor service and poor food . One of the mains was little more than a starter lobster ravioli - very poor and tasteless. My wife had to eat some of my pizza just to fill up a bit. Drinks came twice - only ordered once so had to send them back. Had tiramisu which was too creamy with little sponge and no taste of masala wine. It was just really poor. Will not return

Visited our daughter in Manchester for her birthday. Had a really lovely meal. Table booked for 1.00pm lunch. Restaurant was quite busy but nonetheless service was excellent and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the vibe. Would love to visit again for an evening meal. Well definitely be returning. Lovely staff too. I had risotto, my husband steak. Only thing I would add is that the vegetarian choice is limited.

Rang up to book a table of 8 for middle of March which gave 6 weeks notice. We got told that they are unable to take bookings of 8 because of company policy so we then requested 2 tables of 4 next to eachother and again got declined. Not sure why an independent restaurant would turn away a booking of 8 when it would have been guaranteed business for them. Now it has put me off going again, no matter the size of the booking party. Very disappointed.

Lovely authentic Italian with fresh food and wonderful service

I found this place based upon the excellent reviews and I was not disappointed! We booked for 8pm on a Monday evening and were surprised to find it so busy - I definitely recommend making a booking to secure a table, even mid-week. The friendly service was a real highlight, but the food was also fantastic. There is ample choice, as well as a specials menu (handwritten which is a lovely touch!). Although the restaurant was busy, the food came at a good pace - and despite being one of the last tables to leave, we never felt rushed. This is a gem of an Italian restaurant in Manchester and it will be my first choice upon my return to the city, whenever that might be!

My sister and I visited Vincenzo trattoria and we had an amazing time. The food was delicious. From the polpette al sugo to the carbonara. The staff was also amazing. They treated us we kindness. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time and meal.

It was excellent, my husband said it was the best calzone he had ever eaten!

Authentic Italian food served with reasonable prices.

Booked this for a night out celebrating my Birthday with work colleagues. Made the mistake of booking it online for the next day. Turned up and the staff were so helpful. They managed to squeeze us in and then gave us the best food I have had at an Italian Resteraunt. The staff were super friendly, efficient and were even able to share some of the history behind the specials. It was a wonderful evening. The pace was brilliant and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

After doing a bit of research on here, I discovered this place had a lot of good reviews so I took a chance! We didn’t book but were seated straight away (it got busier, so I’d book!). The servers were all really friendly and made us feel welcome. We tried a couple of the specials, a pasta dish and a pizza. Everything we ate was authentic and delicious, in particular the special trifle dessert! The bill was also really reasonable, we would definately return when in Manchester & highly recommend it for a good italian meal.

Love this restaurant - excellent food, the service is very good, friendly and welcoming. Authentic Italian food, everything was freshly prepared - would definitely recommend the profiteroles, the best I have tasted! We had a shared starter of bruschetta and aubergine baked with potatoes and parmesan (delicious!) to start, then spaghetti with meatballs followed by those outstanding profiteroles! You definitely get the feel of a family run restaurant, cosy and friendly. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant staff, the incredible food served in good portions and the drinks offered a refreshing variety for all tastes. We shared a pesto doughball starter which amazingly tasty. My partner ordered the Canelloni which was stuffed with delicious meat and covered in a flavourful sauce. I ordered the Pollo Dolcelatte which was cooked to perfection and covered in a sauce I could not get enough of, with a side of generously seasoned fries to mop up the sauces. Finally we got dessert; a tiramisu and panna cotta. Both very authentic, creamy and tasty without being overpowering. 10/10

Place was busy pre theatre, managed to get a table for 2 without a reservation. Drinks came fast, starters and bread came fast aswell… but then there was a 50min delay for our mains, two pasta dishes and a pizza, which meant we had to rush it down and hurry off for our show.. ruined the meal to be honest. No real apology either. Would return as the food was nice, but definitely not on a theatre night..

We stopped in on a Sunday night looking for dinner. We had no reservation but space was made available for us. The decor was charming and cosy (probably more suitable for the many couples enjoying a romantic meal than our hot mess of a family). Our servers Stefano and Simon were excellent but special credit is due to Rosa who accommodated our slightly picky children, suggested delicious dishes and even went off the menu for a special custom mocktail. Food was well prepared and executed but the wonderful service made the experience for us. 10/10 would dine again.

Booked here on Christmas Eve, and glad we did as it filled up rapidly. My daughter and I had researched “best independent trattoria in Manchester” and the name of this place appeared repeatedly. There seemed to be a few Italians dining while we were there, which I think is a good sign. The layout inside is quite higgledy-piggledy being an old building, with tables tucked in nooks and crannies, between pillars, on raised plinths, but that makes it feel really cosy, charming and interesting. Just a very nice atmosphere. I believe it is a family run business, and it shows. The staff are so friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and basically very good at their jobs, you feel really welcome and cared for. And now for the main part, the food! In the last few years I’ve become somewhat disillusioned with eating out, things just seem to have gone downhill since the pandemic and, to me anyway, it seems to be increasingly hard to find genuinely enjoyable restaurant food at a reasonable price. Don’t get me started on chain restaurants - I’m absolutely done with them. But here is a place that restored my faith. We shared tomato garlic bread to start, which was just delicious, and I went for minestrone soup as well, which was beautifully flavourful. For mains my daughter ordered Penne Vodka & Salmone, which she devoured (and found a new love for capers 🥰). I went for Pizza Quattro Stagioni which was extremely tasty! Pizza dough is a very important part of a pizza right, and can make or break it; let me tell you it’s sublime here - light with just the right balance of crispiness and chewiness, lovely. The tomato sauce tastes wonderfully fresh too. After, we shared an Affogato al Caffé (vanilla ice cream with amaretto, espresso and cream poured over) - wonderful. And finally, a large espresso. I’m no real connoisseur, but I’ve tasted two great coffees in my life, one was in Toarmina in Sicily, and the other was here - my daughter thought I was having some sort of revelatory awakening experience 🤣. And the price; it came out at a surprisingly reasonable £32 a head - admittedly we didn’t go overboard with drinks, side orders, etc, but we came out feeling satisfied and full; so I think in this day and age that is a remarkably low price for such a top notch all round experience, and I applaud the business for offering such excellent value for money. These days, I quite often get the feeling I’ve been fleeced, but this was the polar opposite, genuinely worth every penny. When you find somewhere which makes you feel warm and excited about coming back, it’s a great thing. That’s what we have now in Vincenzo Trattoria. Bellissima! 😚

Had to wait long to get served. The food was all right and bland to my taste and there were no accompaniments like chilli oil etc. but asked for chilli and salt and Tabasco and the server brought it. Menu didn’t have much vegetarian options. Overall an ok experience but nothing extra ordinary for the price. Felt short staffed.

Always visit here when we go to Manchester. Can’t recommend the restaurant enough! The staff are amazing, friendly and the food speaks for itself! Thanks to Rosa and Mariano for making our latest visit more special, great customer care.

This restaurant is a real gem in the centre of Manchester. The food was amazing and cooked to absolute perfection - pasta was done al dente and the sauce was so tasty, tasted like authentic Italian which was an absolute treat. Staff are lovely and despite being so busy, were helpful and kind. Perfect atmosphere and we hope to come back for another visit at some point. Thank you.

Food was quickly served. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The waiters were very helpful, kind and professional. Great service. Hot drinks are a little on the pricey side.

I found the food dreadful. The pasta i had was tastless. There where 4 within our party. All our food was not good. It was not authentic and one of the poorest Italian restaurants i have visited. I had parmigiana starter it was full of sauce and tastless. We had olives they where dry and not fresh. Just awful food not to be repeated. However the 2 waiters whete a credit to the restaurant.

We left without eating due to the rude behavior of the waitress. We went there out of curiosity and it was a total disappointment. Your staff has no right to behave so rudely, it is not appropriate 👎👎👎👎

If you are Italian it will be like having a piece of home in a foreign land. If you are English this is very good restaurant for eating Italian food. Spaghetti meatballs are very good!

We have waited them for half an hour just to take our order and when i am asking them they keep saying we are coming 👎🏻. And they have to give us the drink before even asked about our order!!!!!

We ordered 2 starters, the scallops and arbugeine and a main of linguine with prawn in white wine sauce. The food were good however I do not think this is authentic Italian. They are very good in a way I preferred it to be called as Italian food with american fusion. They taste very american to me, but in a good way. Thats a -1 point overall. Another -1 point is for the server. They dont seem to care and a bit dismissive. Overall okayish. Can come back occasionally but definitely not regularly.

Love this place. My son was in Uni in Manchester for the last few years and we visited her a couple of times a year. Recently over for his graduation and tried to get a table. They were really busy but Rosa and the team squeezed us and we had a great meal, again. I still have some family in Manchester so hopefully I'll be back again soon. Have never eaten the same thing twice and never been disappointed. A brilliant spot for authentic Italian food, especially the pasta dishes.

A nice change from English cuisine. The appetizers were very tasty, the lasagna too, but the chicken was unfortunately a bit dry. The desserts are worth trying
