Vincenzo Trattoria in Manchester

After doing a bit of research on here, I discovered this place had a lot of good reviews so I took a chance! We didn’t book but were seated straight away (it got busier, so I’d book!). The servers were all really friendly and made us feel welcome. We tried a couple of the specials, a pasta dish and a pizza. Everything we ate was authentic and delicious, in particular the special trifle dessert! The bill was also really reasonable, we would definately return when in Manchester & highly recommend it for a good italian meal.

Lovely atmosphere, warm, friendly staff and delicious, traditional Italian food. All priced reasonably. Would definitely reccomend.

If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience in Manchester, this restaurant is a must stop. From the first bite, you can tell that they take care of every detail to offer dishes faithful to Italian tradition. I tried the carbonara. The texture of the pasta was perfect, with a creamy sauce that perfectly balanced the flavor of the cheese. To finish, the tiramisu was delicious. Smooth, with the perfect balance between coffee and mascarpone, and just the right amount of sweetness. It's the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and enjoy every spoonful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also worth mentioning: cozy, with Italian music in the background and attentive staff who make you feel at home. A place I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian food in Manchester. I will always remember this restaurant, it was my last restaurant before returning to my country and my farewell with my friend.

Booked here on Christmas Eve, and glad we did as it filled up rapidly. My daughter and I had researched “best independent trattoria in Manchester” and the name of this place appeared repeatedly. There seemed to be a few Italians dining while we were there, which I think is a good sign. The layout inside is quite higgledy-piggledy being an old building, with tables tucked in nooks and crannies, between pillars, on raised plinths, but that makes it feel really cosy, charming and interesting. Just a very nice atmosphere. I believe it is a family run business, and it shows. The staff are so friendly, attentive but not overbearing, and basically very good at their jobs, you feel really welcome and cared for. And now for the main part, the food! In the last few years I’ve become somewhat disillusioned with eating out, things just seem to have gone downhill since the pandemic and, to me anyway, it seems to be increasingly hard to find genuinely enjoyable restaurant food at a reasonable price. Don’t get me started on chain restaurants - I’m absolutely done with them. But here is a place that restored my faith. We shared tomato garlic bread to start, which was just delicious, and I went for minestrone soup as well, which was beautifully flavourful. For mains my daughter ordered Penne Vodka & Salmone, which she devoured (and found a new love for capers 🥰). I went for Pizza Quattro Stagioni which was extremely tasty! Pizza dough is a very important part of a pizza right, and can make or break it; let me tell you it’s sublime here - light with just the right balance of crispiness and chewiness, lovely. The tomato sauce tastes wonderfully fresh too. After, we shared an Affogato al Caffé (vanilla ice cream with amaretto, espresso and cream poured over) - wonderful. And finally, a large espresso. I’m no real connoisseur, but I’ve tasted two great coffees in my life, one was in Toarmina in Sicily, and the other was here - my daughter thought I was having some sort of revelatory awakening experience 🤣. And the price; it came out at a surprisingly reasonable £32 a head - admittedly we didn’t go overboard with drinks, side orders, etc, but we came out feeling satisfied and full; so I think in this day and age that is a remarkably low price for such a top notch all round experience, and I applaud the business for offering such excellent value for money. These days, I quite often get the feeling I’ve been fleeced, but this was the polar opposite, genuinely worth every penny. When you find somewhere which makes you feel warm and excited about coming back, it’s a great thing. That’s what we have now in Vincenzo Trattoria. Bellissima! 😚

Had to wait long to get served. The food was all right and bland to my taste and there were no accompaniments like chilli oil etc. but asked for chilli and salt and Tabasco and the server brought it. Menu didn’t have much vegetarian options. Overall an ok experience but nothing extra ordinary for the price. Felt short staffed.

This restaurant is a real gem in the centre of Manchester. The food was amazing and cooked to absolute perfection - pasta was done al dente and the sauce was so tasty, tasted like authentic Italian which was an absolute treat. Staff are lovely and despite being so busy, were helpful and kind. Perfect atmosphere and we hope to come back for another visit at some point. Thank you.

Food was quickly served. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The waiters were very helpful, kind and professional. Great service. Hot drinks are a little on the pricey side.

I found the food dreadful. The pasta i had was tastless. There where 4 within our party. All our food was not good. It was not authentic and one of the poorest Italian restaurants i have visited. I had parmigiana starter it was full of sauce and tastless. We had olives they where dry and not fresh. Just awful food not to be repeated. However the 2 waiters whete a credit to the restaurant.

We left without eating due to the rude behavior of the waitress. We went there out of curiosity and it was a total disappointment. Your staff has no right to behave so rudely, it is not appropriate 👎👎👎👎

If you are Italian it will be like having a piece of home in a foreign land. If you are English this is very good restaurant for eating Italian food. Spaghetti meatballs are very good!

We have waited them for half an hour just to take our order and when i am asking them they keep saying we are coming 👎🏻. And they have to give us the drink before even asked about our order!!!!!

I was at the restorant a week ago with my toddler , the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing . Strongly recommended if you like authentic Italian food.

We had a lovely evening meal. The food was delicious and good portion sizes. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff - Mariano was incredibly helpful.

We ordered 2 starters, the scallops and arbugeine and a main of linguine with prawn in white wine sauce. The food were good however I do not think this is authentic Italian. They are very good in a way I preferred it to be called as Italian food with american fusion. They taste very american to me, but in a good way. Thats a -1 point overall. Another -1 point is for the server. They dont seem to care and a bit dismissive. Overall okayish. Can come back occasionally but definitely not regularly.

Love this place. My son was in Uni in Manchester for the last few years and we visited her a couple of times a year. Recently over for his graduation and tried to get a table. They were really busy but Rosa and the team squeezed us and we had a great meal, again. I still have some family in Manchester so hopefully I'll be back again soon. Have never eaten the same thing twice and never been disappointed. A brilliant spot for authentic Italian food, especially the pasta dishes.

I was a little skeptical and instead of saying everything was perfect from the music to the decoration Very good pizza, even better The staff were friendly and accommodating I highly recommend it to feel a bit at home or to enjoy real Italian cuisine

Attended without a booking on a Tuesday evening around 7.30 pm, and the place was absolutely packed, which is always a good sign. Had to wait a short while for a table, but the food and service certainly made it worth the wait!

Visiting from London, I’ve never felt so uncomfortable and unwanted at a restaurant. Initially we were told there was a wait of up to an hour because they claimed there wasn’t seating for two even though we could clearly see available tables. We didn’t think too much of it and decided to go elsewhere. We then returned later in hopes of just having dessert as the restaurant was now virtually empty. However, we were refused a table with the explanation that they couldn’t seat us just for desserts. Had we been seated, we likely would have ordered drinks as well! At this point, it was clear they simply didn’t want us there and I’m not sure why. This experience left us feeling extremely unwelcome.

Ok service, food was very average for the price. Place is lovely inside which does add to the vibe.

The service is exceptional, the food is good and the environment is clean, spacious and quaint. My son had a birthday party and they were nice.

This is ideally located in central Manchester. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent. Our waitress last night, called Rosa , was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she served us with a fast and efficient service, always with a smile. Considering the food is such high quality, the prices are extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I was in a hurry and went in when it was full, in less then 5minutes I had a place to sit and directly could order my risotto, It arrived in less then 5 minutes and it was delicious. Just enough to leave some space for a finisher, which was a tiramisu. It was also really good just enough to get me satisfied. In less then 35minutes I had my whole meal and payed it. Great service!

One of the best place I have visited. I went here on my birthday and it was a wonderful place. Stefano's service was adorable. Other two people' s service were also good, I didn't get an opportunity to ask their names. Must visit place, beautiful food, great service and wonderful atmosphere.

Me and my partner dined here this evening - food was subpar with the bolognese tasting like a microwave meal, the aubergine starter tasted like it was made with a tin of tomato soup. We also ordered 2 desserts - one being a panna cotta which came in a pot and was curdled and grainy with what only can be described as Mr whippy raspberry sauce. The waitress said this was how they served a panna cotta yet was quick to remove it from the bill- moments later another waiter walked past our table with a dessert which actually resembled what a pana cotta should be so we were confused as to what we were actually served. Only saving grace was the front of house staff who were friendly and attentive, definitely need new 'chefs'. Would not return.

This is the second time my husband, daughter and I have visited Vincenzo, the last being on my husbands birthday in August. I loved it so much, I was determined to come back even if it wasn't for a special occasion. We were served by Rosa, who was friendly, chatty and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It appears that the staff are in the main Italian, which gives the place an authentic Italian atmosphere and for me having been all over Italy, this is the best, most authentic, Italian,we have been to outside Italy. Whilst they continue to employ people like lovely Rosa and serve fantastic authentic and thoroughly delicious food, their business will continue to flourish, really looking forward to my next visit😁😍

Some friends and I visited relatively late on a Sunday yet were warmly welcomed even opening their upstairs area for us. Following that I had one of the best Italian meals I've ever had and our waitress was incredibly helpful as well as fun

where to begin? the staff? super friendly, 10/10. the minestrone soup? An explosion of flavor, to my great delight. As my friend put it, “this bruschetta could step on me and spit on me and I’d say thank you. The lasagna and spaghetti bolognese? Moved me to tears. This place is my new home.

Been here numerous times now, my go-to place for reasonable yet tasty italian in manchester!! the food is always perfect and the atmosphere of the restaurant is so cosy and authentic! one thing is that sometimes service is a little slow but it is understandable considering how busy its been every time i’ve visited! would recommend :)

Nice staff but unfortunately the food was very average. We had the carbonara pasta and a seafood pasta dishes. Carbonara almost taste like a powdered cheese, not nice .. the seafood pasta was just alright. Unfortunately I would not go back again

This afternoon, I attempted to book a table at this restaurant based on its positive reviews. However, after an unreasonable delay of over 5 hours, I finally received a response—only to be told my reservation was declined. What I find baffling is that I booked at 4:30 PM, during the time their website clearly indicated availability. Frankly, it’s their loss. I’ve already made a reservation with another local restaurant that values its customers and confirmed my booking right away. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. It seems they believe they can pick and choose guests without knowing who they are or how much they might spend. Do yourself a favor—take your business elsewhere. This restaurant is a complete joke.

What a gorgeous restaurant with incredible service by Rosa. The food was delicious and it was such a welcoming atmosphere! I can’t wait to come back. We had bruschetta, arancini, rabbit ragu parpadelle, cannelloni, tiramisu and several Limoncello cocktails and oh my gaaaaaaawd it was heaven! Grazi Rosa!

Beautiful Location and great atmosphere. I've been here before and wanted to come back again, because of how good it was (8 months later). We had a starter, the fried calamari and fish which was very nicely presented and both myself and my girlfriend were happy with. Unfortunately on the main course the pizza (photo) had no flavour to it, it was covered in tomato sauce, as if it were a liquid, the cheese slid right off, I was so disappointed as last time it was so nice. I didn't even finish it, it was inedible, my girlfriend loved the pasta she had, so I'm guessing it was just a fluke. In terms of service, there was one waiter (not ours) who came to check on us, however our waiter didn't even speak, I don't know if she didn't speak English or she was shy, but she didn't speak, when we entered I said I had a booking and she just walks away (presumably wanted us to follow, but no indication of it), in the end we were served by the only male waiter, who was very good and friendly. Im not sure about how much cleaning or maintenance goes on in this place, seemed to be dirt and cracks on the toilet, as well as stained seats. The service didnt ruin my evening, but the pizza did, my girlfriend was happy though, so it gets 3*'s for that. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, as thae pizza put me off (Italian restaurant doesn't know how to make pizza), however I reccomend to stop by to anyone reading this.

Completely unwilling/unable to accommodate our party because we had an infant. Cancelled our booking. I called up and offered to bring a fold out high chair that straps to a normal restaurant seat, and then still said no. I can't speak about atmosphere or food. Couldn't even be bothered get the spelling of my name right. Terrible phone manner. Update after Response: See Additional Photo: Liars, all of them. As you can clearly see from the first photo I sent, the reservation you declined was for THREE not SIX or SEVEN. I called once to ask if you could take seven, you said no. Then I made a reservation for THREE and FOUR (two separate bookings), and mentioned the THREE included a child, which you then declined (you did not cancel the Four, I did) because you don't have high chairs. I then called to explain we had a booster seat, and your staff rudely dismissed me in broken english. My 1 star rating for service is valid, and I have the evidence to discredit your lying attempt to reimagine the incident.

What a delightful and cosy Italian place in Manchester. When you enter the resturant, you will feel the Mediterranean feel of southern Italy. Food is excellent. Pasta was cooked beautifully and not too heavy. So good Wine is great too Service is professional and friendly

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine, i tried the mushroom risotto, it was really tasty. Would definitely recommend, also the garlic/cheese bread tasted great!, i’ve also tried their amazing tiramisu thanks to Rosa’s recommendation. TOTALLY RECOMMEND! such a nice ending to an amazing meal! the BEST thing is the service! Alex and Rosa were so welcoming and friendly. To all the solo travelers, i’m sure you’ll enjoy your meal there! Definitely recommend it and would go back again!!

Was a walk in on a early on a Tuesday evening. Did not intend to have three courses but I did really enjoyed the penne pasta as a main.Finished off with a coffee and an Irish.The draught beer was well poured.All of the staff that I had contact with made me feel very welcome.No hesitation in eating here again.Highly recommend.

We had a really great evening. Our waitress Rosa was very nice, she explained everything to us. Surelly wasn't easy because english is not our mothertounge. She always looked after us and was really helpful. The meal was delicious, and the desert was the best we had in a long time. If you are thinking about going to vincenzo do it. It's really Worth it.

Staff were excellent ,very welcoming and had great customer service skills everytime they came by they stopped to see if everything was okay also on top of that .They all had a great big spontaneous smile which made the atmosphere even better so thank you for making me and my cousin feel comfortable and welcomed Will definitely be coming here again thank you once again to Mariano ,Step and Alex what great people you’re !!
