Had a lovely meal again at Italiana 55 in Didsbury, we were there with family to celebrate Mother’s Day. Lovely food as usual and excellent service, especially from Anna and martina who looked after us

Rose was the best waitress. The reception guys were great too. They swapped us for a booth seat without fuss on a busy mothera day.

Tasty food with homemade pasta and the friendliest service! Rose waited on us and ensure we got everything we wanted. We definitely will return soon :)

Slow service with a negative atmosphere, food good but nothing to cheer about.

Had a lovely meal with family. Martina served us and was very helpful and welcoming. Particularly enjoyed all the starters from arancini to the bruschetta and the prawns. All was really enjoyable.

We arrived on a Saturday evening with a table for 3 booked to an almost empty restaurant with more staff than customers. The food was just about warm not hot enough as if it had been sat there for a while. We paid £21 for 3 small portions of tiramisu which did not taste fresh. The waiting staff ask how your meal is every 5-10 minutes which was annoying. It was expensive and not worth the £133 we paid between us for a bang average meal I expect better especially in didsbury village where there are plenty of other options. It is a shame really as this place was good when it first opened but has gone down hill massively. I will not be returning as there is better value for money and quality elsewhere.

Friendly and accommodating staff, poor service, i.e., waited well over an hour for starter, same for main, left before dessert which I was looking forward too. We were a large party. Steak was undercooked, and we were not asked how we wanted it. They were far too overwhelmed and grossly under staffed. There was a party of four that had been booked in that could not occomadate due to over booking. Bad first lingering impression guys, can't see me returning, and I had such high hopes. X

We thoroughly enjoyed an early evening meal last Monday night. The food was all delicious. The staff a d service was excellent and very friendly and welcoming. We could not fault anything and will definitely go again!

We were having an important family meal and after looking at reviews online we booked a table at Italiana Fifty Five which turned out to be the perfect place for us. Looking after us was Chloe, who was really friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed throughout. Her attention to detail really went above and beyond, checking in with us regularly and with her knowledge of the menu, ensuring that the dishes we ordered were just how we liked them. The food was incredible. I had pasta, which you could really tell had been made fresh and was cooked perfectly. All family members said simular about their orders, in particular the garlic bread, and my sister saying the steak was the best she'd ever had (steak being her go to choice). All in all, you could tell that quality ingredients had been used and the chefs knew how to make the most of them. I would highly recommend going for a meal at a Italiana Fifty Five and appriciate everything Chloe and her colleagues did to make it such a special evening.

Such a shame as the one in town/Deansgate is fantastic with customer service. To start with it took over 30 mins to set a table, the front of house gentlemen is extremely rude, said it would be 10 mins and was only done when manager/owner asked us 20 mins later if we needed help. Placed order but again told front of house gentlemen we wanted to order food before drinks as we had waited so long to be seated, 3 times we advised as he was persistantly ignoring us. The restaurant was not full either!! Placed order, starters were lovely no issues. Placed order for drinks had to ask on 2 occasions when they would arrive. Placed order for main, lamb chops not availble but told after 2 mains had arrived, 4 people eating but only 2 with food. Steak came perfect for one medium rare, but medium well was attempted on two occasions without success. Manager/owner came to assist and was not happy with steak provided, very nice and apologetic, however front of house gentlemen then came and asked exact same questions like he was going to be given a different response. Extremely rude and from the start we were made to feel awkward by this gentlemen. Won't be returning to this particular restaurant but certainly will attend deansgate/Town.

What a dreadful place rude staff. Booked a table had a booking reference but they had completely booked out the restaurant for a private party but did not cancel or offer to reschedule our booking. We had travelling 2 hours.. there was no apology no offer of a compensatory voucher just a shrug. Absolutely dreadful no care for the customer . DO NOT BOOK HERE AS THEY WON'T HONOUR YOUR BOOKING

Came here with my friends for a Valentines dinner, and the food was so lovely! We had a server called Izzy who was incredibly helpful. So friendly, and even though we made her go into the kitchen 20x to ask questions, she came back with a smile, haha! Great service from all staff, but special thank you to her. We enjoyed every dish. Even though we over estimated room for dessert, the tiramisu was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again :)

We were really looking forward to dining here after reading great reviews, however we were pretty disappointed with the experience. The cocktails and starters were lovely, albeit very slow to arrive. We were asked as soon as we were seated what food we would like to order - we asked for a couple of minutes so we could look at the menu, and the server didn’t come back for about 15 minutes. The mains were the real let down of the entire experience. The cappellacci al salmone was a very small portion and while had an nice flavour, was too salty. The Bucatini Reggiano arrived cold, the flavour was bland and pasta a bit too undercooked for my taste - also, they were unable to do the “show” at the table as advertised as our seating area was too cramped. Our server did check on our mains, but only as soon as they arrived at the table, which meant we couldn’t comment on them until the end of the meal. When we respectfully raised the issues with the gentleman who came to clear our plates, we felt very dismissed by his reaction as he barely apologised and simply told us we should have asked for the dish heated up earlier - when we explained we couldn’t get a servers attention otherwise we would have, he just took our plates and left. Also, all of the plates, dishes, and glasses had some sort of sticky residue on the bottoms?? Overall, the atmosphere is nice with mood lighting and decoration, and no complaints regarding the quality of cocktails and starters - just very disappointed with the mains and overall service in the restaurant. Would not recommend visiting without the 50% discount.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Special thanks to Rose served us throughout the evening - she was amazing and so lovely. The atmosphere was modern and chic, perfect for a night out. I will definitely recommend it to everyone.

Came here with my wife on Monday, and was so impressed we brought our daughter back on Thursday for her 18th birthday. The food and service were excellent, and the staff treated our daughter so nicely and really made her feel special, giving her one of the nicest evenings of her life. I have seldom if ever felt so welcomed at a restaurant, and the food was beautiful as well.

My wife and I had a fabulous time here on Monday, and are going back tonight with our daughter! I had the salmon and my wife had the sea bass. The food was fabulous and delivered so quickly, and with such friendly attentiveness from the staff. I have never had two restaurant staff shake my hand on the way out! The 50% off food in January was the draw. Discovering there was a “supplement” charge made it feel like a bit of a swizz, but the food and service were so good, I’m prepared to forgive them, and it was still a good deal.

Italiana Fifty Five: Seriously Good Italian (and a shoutout to C.J.!) Let me tell you, Italiana Fifty Five is the real deal. I went there the other night, and it was honestly one of the best Italian meals I've had in ages. The place itself has a great vibe – not too stuffy, but still feels a bit special. It's the kind of place you could go for a date night or just a fun dinner with friends.The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was just incredible. Seriously, I could have licked the plate clean. But the best part? The service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, but I have to give a huge shoutout to C.J. They were awesome! So friendly, knew the menu inside and out, and just made the whole experience even better. They were really helpful with recommendations and just had a great, positive attitude. C.J. is a superstar! Basically, if you're looking for some seriously good Italian food in Didsbury with a relaxed atmosphere and fantastic service, you HAVE to check out Italiana Fifty Five. I'll definitely be back soon!

Visited this evening 4 of us. Food was nice however they had run out of a particular dish that my friend wanted and they had carefully chosed due to alergies. They ended up with something they weren't too particularly used to eating The venue was full as it is 50% off being January Very noisy in music and staff having to shout to be heard. The staff hover over you like hawks which is so unnerving and unprofessional constantly asking if you have finished and removing plates as soon as your cutlery is down. I hate being rushed in restaurants Sadly not returning again

A wonderful atmosphere with very tasty food. Izzy was a wonderful waitress. My only feedback would be that only 1 person needs to check on us throughout our meal as we had multiple people ask how things were whilst we were trying to enjoy our meal. That's not a negative though as it was nice to be well taken care of! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We dined here last night as a party of 4.it looked relatively busy when we walked in which is always a good sign,it's a very relaxed atmosphere, hannah was our waiter,she was very attentive and thoughtful and knew how to pronounce all the meals we requested. The starters and the meal was on a par with my favourite Italian which I wont name here,overall i thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be returning,we gave our waiter a generous tip but it was deserved,the only issue we had was the parking but it's a town centre so its expected.

Place has been decorated nicely but the food is not amazing. Service was slow and kept getting things wrong or not coming back with things. At the end out clothes stank of grease because I think they haven’t turned the extractor fans on. Won’t be going again anytime soon

If you’re thinking about dining here, I strongly suggest you think again. Our visit was a total disaster from start to finish, and I honestly regret wasting my time and money. We were a large group and had pre-ordered our meals weeks in advance, but when we arrived, they had completely lost our order. We were told there was nothing they could do, and we had to wait while they tried to sort it out—no apology or explanation, just confusion and frustration. Things only got worse from there. No one came to take drink orders, and when we finally flagged down a waiter, they acted as though we were bothering them. This set the tone for the entire evening. We were forced to reorder drinks multiple times, which, at a decent restaurant, should never happen. To make matters worse, we had to wait over two and a half hours for our main courses, despite having pre-ordered! That’s beyond unacceptable. On top of that, when we asked to change tables, as we were awkwardly crammed around small round tables, the staff acted irritated, even though they had initially offered to move us. When the food finally arrived, it was nothing like what was promised. The steak I ordered well-done was served rare. I sent it back, and they just slapped it back on the grill and returned it looking like the same piece of meat. As if that wasn’t enough, the cutlery was dirty—my fork had food residue on it. The pasta sauce tasted like it had come out of a jar. They never brought us all the food we ordered, and acted like they were doing us a favour by taking it off the bill even though we never received it. We spoke to the manager about everything, but instead of addressing our concerns or offering any form of compensation, he was rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in resolving anything. It felt like they couldn’t care less about providing a decent dining experience. When the time came to pay, we were told they couldn’t find proof of our £10 per-person deposit. After arguing with them for several minutes, they finally accepted it, but it left us all feeling completely disrespected and unheard. Overall, this was a chaotic, frustrating, and disappointing experience. The food was subpar, the service was appalling, and the management couldn’t have cared less. There are plenty of better options in the area—save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs.

Regulars here but exceptional hereltoday partly thanks to Eduardo and the Italian music. Felt we were on holiday. Calamari starter had incredibly light batter, my new favourite. Ragu sauce on main course really good. Best place in Manchester for espresso. Eduardo recommended the Valpolicella wine which was enjoyed very much.

We were a large group and had pre-ordered our meals well in advance, but when we arrived, they had lost our pre-order. This already set the tone for what would be a frustrating evening. To make matters worse, not a single member of staff came over to serve us; we had to repeatedly ask for drinks, and when we did, the staff seemed annoyed and visibly angered by our requests. The attitude was appalling. We left a £10 deposit per person, and when we asked for the bill, they questioned the proof of payment and didn’t seem to believe us. Absolutely baffling. The quality of food was far below expectations. The cutlery was dirty, and the food was nothing like what was advertised on their social media. We waited over 2.5 hours for our main courses despite having pre-ordered. That’s unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that claims to offer a decent dining experience. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Long story short, extremely slow service - we had to reorder drinks two or three times and were not offered any after we were seated at our table. We were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours after having preordered our meal, which they had lost. We asked to move tables as 9 of us were awkwardly seated around two small round tables, this seemed to annoy the staff even after they had offered to sort us a better table. Table was missing cutlery, my clean fork had food on it. When pouring the wine, a waiter spilt it on one of our party. Sides took so long to arrive we ended up refusing them as all our food had gone cold. Steak was served rare when asked for well done, sent back and they had just recooked the meat off our plate. We complained to the manager throughout the meal and asked to speak to them at the end of the night too. We were offered no replacement of food, no discount, no complimentary drink, nothing but an apology. Overall an absolutely chaotic atmosphere and the food was laughable.

Seriously not what we were expecting. Below average food and experience. Went today in a large group and service struggled to get even the basics right. Inexperienced staff and kitchen low on ingredients. Had calamari to start but it was very rubbery. The chicken mains was okay but just bland and all in all just a sub-average meal. Manager wasn’t up to much either - I don’t think this place will be here for long. Won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend. (Updated review on 29 Dec - visited on 22 Dec)

My first visit here was for lunch on a Friday. We both really enjoyed the food - it was really good value and delicious. I had the seafood spaghetti with was perfect. The wines are also very reasonably priced and with a good choice. We ended up staying four hours as we were enjoying ourselves! The place is nice and warm and it wasn't too busy. Very helpful and friendly staff too.

I'm extremely disappointed. Booked Christmas dinner. Did the same last year, which was excellent all around. There was no Christmas cracker on the table. Was also given the regular menu plus the Christmas one, not sure why! Roast potatoes were potato wedges, Christmas dinner salty was taken back, and still returned salty. Given the wrong dessert. Service was poor and lacked any experience and service. Overall, it was supposed to be the Christmas menu, yet the food was from the regular menu. Will pass next year....

We had a family meal and the staff were welcoming and checked in regularly with us. 2 of the party were delayed and this was no problem for the staff which was helpful. The food was great! Pizzas and arrabiata pasta were all good with a delicious tomato sauce. I had the gluten free pizza and it was excellent - the best base I have had in a long time. A reasonable price and great food. What can I say the place is amazing. Top customer service and experience soon as you walk through the door. Staff can't do enough for you. Food is unreal and out of this world, the carbonara is one of the best we have had in the UK and up there to the ones we have had in Italy amazing. Would recommend this place as its an absolute gem .

Very poor service. A lot of the meals were not available. Managed to be served with drinks and a starter. We then sat for over an hour waiting for our main meal. During this time a few more customers came in and were served their meals. We asked why the big delay in been served, only to be told the chef had run away. Because we had to be somewhere else, we walked out, shame because it used to be a very good place to visit. We probably won't be visiting again in the foreseeable future unless they get the service improved. Maybe if they catch the chef and bring him back might help.

All the food here is excellent and the hospitality is excellent. Connor and Ian were so helpful even bringing a small table when we needed to work on my laptop. I was very impressed with the thoughtfulness. Most places have basic customer care, I felt very welcomed and I well looked after.

Really enjoyed the food, particularly the rigatoni and pizza. Very good ambience and we enjoyed the sunshine streaming in through the windows on a bright November day. We were well looked after by Connor and Theo made us a great cup of espresso.

Freezing cold only me and my friend in. No atmosphere, but so cold obviously no heating on Sunday at 1.30 on the 17th November. Food very average, they also charge 3.95 for a bottle of water. Won't return, previous owners - was the place to eat - not anymore!

Well. Went to your lovely restaurant Saturday evening. Ready for a delicious Italian meal,as your reviews stated. Didn't happen. We stood at the waiting point for at least 20 minutes,and know one came to seat us or acknowledge that we were there. I'm a great believer in customer service,which this was not. I left with my party,due to this lack of customer service. I recommend that you either employ a front of house person or have your staff stay at the front of house so this doesn't happen again. Pluss this was my experience,not saying its everyone's experience. You weren't busy. It wasn't full. Obviously not returning.

Taken for lunch at this Italian restaurant. I liked the linen tablecloths and napkins. However after a long journey from London I headed up to the Loos. First one was filthy! One occupied and the other had no loo roll, but a pack of black cocktail napkins had been left!! I let the waitress know, but she seemed to know already saying one toilet was closed - it wasn't. I suggested putting a note on the door. She said toilet roll was on order! Hadn't occurred her to pop to a shop and buy some it seems. Food is well priced. We all enjoyed our starters. Arancini very nice. Unfortunately I chose the chicken main dish- chicken overcooked which is never good. Sauce nice though. I'd been given a 'sharper' knife fir the chicken- it was totally blunt and I couldn't cut the already rubbery chicken. Everyone else had risotto which they said was good. Because of the bad toilet maintenance, I wouldn't recommend this place.

My partner was ordering and she dismissed him multiple times to ask what I wanted first which some would think is polite to ask the woman first but was rude of her to cut him off, just let him order! Plus we asked for the bill and she took around 15 minutes to bring it to us whilst she tended to everyone else. She just didn’t seem interested in us at all and prioritised everyone else in the restaurant over us it felt quite uncomfortable. Other than that had a nice night.
