First time , I bought a Groupon voucher and booked a table for 5 to celebrate my son ‘ s 24 th birthday. I am really happy with the choice, my Family also enjoyed the dinner . Food was very well presented , very tasty , generous portions. I really liked the place and strongly recommend it. Service was excellent , very friendly, efficient and definitely we will come back.

The setting of this resteraunt is very nice and the servers are very polite and attentive however the food was incredibly underwhelming and not authentic at all.

As parents of four kids we don’t often venture out for meals these days but when I saw the 50% off food in January offer I decided to book a meal for me and my partner and my parents for my dads birthday. We have never been to this restaurant before but I would definitely go again as it was fantastic!!! The service that Connor provided was great. It’s nice to see someone make an effort with customers. The food was delicious. Couldn’t fault a thing and we weren’t left waiting long at all. Thank you so much for a great evening!!!

We went here during January in their 50 off deal. It was so busy that they took on more than they could cope with. We ordered and it took over an hour for our food, tables that came in well after us where getting served before us. Then my partner's order came out wrong I was getting so frustrated I had to have a word with the manager. He was great and we soon got sorted. I had a chicken dish in a tomato sauce with goats cheese on it which was bland. My partner said her lobster spaghetti was nice. For me the garlic bread was the best bit. They gave us a free dessert for the troubles and a glass of wine. This helped numb the pain but the food wasn't great. Gusto in Didsbury is much better. The staff are all nice here but the food lets it down. Wouldn't return in a hurry, much better places elsewhere.

Lovely food, a perfectly fine Italian meal. Nothing mind blowing but the sort of place where you’ll never have a bad meal. I will say that there’s nothing particularly inspiring or different about here compared to other similar restaurants. We went in January with a 50% deal on and I would just about consider it good value - otherwise it would have been very expensive. The garlic bread was fine, and the salmon pasta was tasty. Large portions which always goes down well. Service great and friendly, if not a little too overbearing (they check back with you every other minute and keep filling your water glass up from the jug - I can do that myself!). All in all, I would go back, but only if I was in the area and really craving an Italian.

Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my best friends birthday. The staff were very accommodating and explained the menu according to our dietary requirements (halal). The main food, dessert and drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic. Shout out to our service members Amelia and Connor for their hospitality and kindness. You made us feel incredibly welcome and thank you to Amelia for answering our questions regarding the menu and making us feel comfortable :)

After an afternoon stroll around Didsbury my friends and I had to give this Italian a try. We was not disappointed. The food was amazing, we were welcomed by a very friendly gentleman named Felix and served by Connor. From start to finish a great experience, great dishes for everyone followed by desert and coffee that was just a perfect way to end our day out. Thanks again team, we shall be back soon.

Italian fifty-five in Didsbury has become my favorite restaurant, and I've frequented it several times. Each visit has been a delightful experience, marked by exceptional food and superb service. Last week, we chose Italian 55 to celebrate my son's birthday. Upon our arrival, Amelia, the manager, warmly welcomed us at the reception, having already noted the celebration in my booking. She graciously invited my son to choose his preferred table. Once settled, a thoughtful touch was added when a young lady adorned our table with balloons in honor of the birthday celebration. Our server, Connor, not only exhibited a delightful sense of humor but also demonstrated professionalism throughout our dining experience. He ensured our orders were accurate and seamlessly executed. For starters, we enjoyed the calamari and beef ribs for two, which were so delectable that we couldn't resist ordering an extra serving of calamari. Our main courses, the tagliatelle reggiano and linguine aragosta, were equally impressive. The table-side service for the tagliatelle reggiano, where Connor expertly mixed the spaghetti with cheese, added a delightful interactive element. The linguine aragosta was divine, with a perfect balance of lobster and tomato sauce. Despite feeling comfortably full, we couldn't skip dessert for a birthday celebration. As we perused the dessert menu, Connor surprised us with a tiramisu accompanied by fireworks, much to the delight of the birthday boy. My son thoroughly enjoyed the dessert, having found his favorite. We also indulged in the souffle al cioccolato and Millefeuille. While the pastry of the Millefeuille could have been crispier, the souffle al cioccolato provided a satisfying conclusion to the evening. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the team at Italian fifty-five for turning this birthday dinner into an extraordinary experience beyond our expectations.

The food and service were fine, but be aware of supplement charges. We end up paying £118 for 3ppl. It is not much cheap at all compared to original prices.

We enjoyed our first meal here; food was very good and they had a kids menu. Service was generally good albeit with a few miscommunications. There was an offer on during our visit but prices otherwise would have been at the higher end of what I'd expect for a restaurant like this. They had minimal vegan options listed on the menu which seemed an oversight.

Very bland food, the chicken was terribly dry and bland. tiramisù was thick and cloggy but was ok but not light as true tiramisù should be. Prawns were very good. Beef ribs undercooked as were still tuff and chewy. All in all was ok but certainly not for foodies but they had a 50% offer so £60 for 2 was not so bad but think would defo be 1* if we had paid full price. Service was very polished and good. Also way too bright in there for me.

Went last weekend for lunch, great offer but food wasn't as nice as first time I went, majority of the main course felt abit cold and not piping hot, was still nice but nothing to shout about, the mix battered start was nicest of the meal. Would like a special mention to the wonderful Connor who served us, very nice, polite and happy to help us. If it wasn't for him, I might have only given 3 stars.

Opened in the former Croma building restaurant, which we visited many times before. We decided to try this new place Italiana 55 and were not disappointed. We were met by a delightful lady who took us to our table. It was quite busy but the service was very good with young staff. They were very chatty and helpful. The food was very good and we enjoyed all the courses. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is our second time at this restaurant and the food and atmosphere is great. Our waiter Simo was excellent and took care of us throughout our meal ensuring we had everything we needed. We had two little ones with us and so the help was greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back again.

I’ve been to the Didsbury branch 3 times and have the same observations each time. The food is really good and very well priced…especially with the January promotion. My only reservations are that the lighting is way too bright which spoils any atmosphere. Also some of the service is patchy. Andrea was lovely but some of the staff seem very inexperienced. It’s not been open long though so I’m sure that will improve. Overall it’s particularly nice for lunch and I will definitely be going again

Had a lively meal here. Restaurant is nicely furnished and both spacious and light with all the windows. Service was very attentive and food was lovely. Calamari was spot on and well seasoned and lobster ravioli was nice. Cheese garlic bread was full of cheese unlike some places and the tiramasu was lovely and a generous portion. Will go again.

Today I was eating at this restaurant and I ordered., 2 started 2 paste 2 main course (one all fish/one all meat) Boht are very delicious. highly recommended.

I preordered the food for 11 people a couple of days beforehand, in my naivety I expected us all to be able to sit down at 6.30pm & the starters to be served around about 6.45, NO the starters were served at 7.40, yes 1 hour & 10 minutes wait for preordered food to be served, those of us that didn't want a starter waited until 8.20pm to get our main course, was it worth the wait? NO it wasn't, it was a small portion of food, nothing special. Every time I wanted to ask how long are we having to wait for the food, same excuse, we're busy, it'll be 5 minutes, the restaurant wasn't busy & I'd preordered the food, thinking this would be helpful, we paid £100.00 deposit, when I asked for the bill the £100.00 hadn't been deducted, I told them that I want it deducted, another apology, it was then deducted, we got discount for the length of time that we waited for our bland food. I told a member of staff that we are really disappointed with the experience, will not ever set foot in the restaurant again. My advice, avoid it.

The best Italian food I have tried in Manchester. The food, service and ambience was just brilliant. I would definitely come back and if you are here, ask for Promise - what a service! Also, don’t forget to try the Panna Cotta, that is as good the first kiss 👍

The staff and restaurant are lovely. We ordered arancini which was nice. Tomato garlic bread, again nice. For our mains, we both ordered tagliatelle reggiano with chicken. The show of pasta was fun to watch. The chicken however was bland and looked like boiled chicken. Long story short we both ordered the same thing and both had food poisoning 🙃 We spent a total of £70.02 which I felt was a little pricey for the quality (an expensive way to get horrifically sick).

Restaurant just about empty, had to wait 20 minutes to order, and I even had to ask to be served as all the staff weee standing around talking with each other. Took over an hour to get mains meals, again even though there was only 4 tables full out of 30. Food was nice, but service very slow.

This is by far the most satisfying restaurant I've ever eaten at in Manchester. Not only is the food delicious, the environment is beautiful and peaceful. The waitress Elle is very professional, polite and enthusiastic. You can relax and enjoy your meal in this restaurant.

Some of these reviews seem suspicious to say the least, every five star review seems to mention the waiter or waitress by name… I had dinner there as part of their 50% off offer but still felt short-changed. My partner’s starter of meatballs was incredibly bland, my mixture of seafood was disappointing, the calamari and octopus were incredibly chewy. My main of lamb shank and mash was tasty if a little salty and some veg would have been nice. My partner’s seafood risotto was dreadful, full of shards of broken shell and again the calamari was incredibly chewy. Crème brûlée for dessert was also disappointing, the surface wasn’t firm enough and it was rather bland, think Bird’s custard. The wine was nice, staff very friendly and service was speedy. Atmosphere wasn’t my cup of tea, as if trying to be high end but clearly on a budget. The toilet was flooded with rainwater. It didn’t feel like an authentic Italian restaurant, more decent pub chain. Plenty of other options nearby so won’t be returning and especially not at full price.

The food was bland and the chicken in my Caesar salad was dry. I mean… how can you mess up a Caesar salad?! One of the managers stood by the bar staring at the floor staff with the most sour expression on her face… I don’t even know why she was there. Also… we waited for the food for over an hour and when we asked if it would be coming soon, they responded with 5 mins, we’ll times that by 6 and you’d get an honest response. For the prices you pay and the experience you expect, it was appalling.

The early bird does not catch the worm.... unless you want to pay a £2 supplement!!! Went tonight 6 Oct for the early bird, all meat dishes have the supplement so no bargains for the non vegan. Went for the lobster ravioli, while it was nice ... the sauce has so much chili and garlic in it you cannot tell it there is any lobster in there!!! The service was attentive to the point of intrusive, every minute someone is asking if all is ok and wanting to fill up the water or wine glass. When you have finished and you get sked if there is anything else they can do... don't ask for the bill if you want to finish your drink and chill, they are back with the machine within 2 mins to get you up and out so they can get another cover. Overall poor compared with the other eateries in Didsbury. For me a one and only visit for the overall experience and price. Plus point if you are a red wine drinker the Merlot is nice

My mom and I came for lunch during their 50% off. We ordered the calamari, carpaccio and burrata for starters. Pretty good, but the olive oil for the burrata wasn’t the nicest. I recommend using regular olive oil with balsamic vinaigrette rather than balsamic glaze as it’s too thick and doesn’t mix well and more basil would have added more flavour. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was nice. Mom ordered the pollo porcini which was basically a thick dried out boiled chicken breast in a sauce. Everything was bland. Server should have also mentioned no sides were included with the chicken. Ended on a high note with the tiramisu which I could not fault.
