Rudy's Neapolitan Pizza - Ancoats in Manchester

Never fails to impress, and what makes it even better is the service, Rosheen, you could not do enough for us, and I only wish more people were like this in the service industry.

On a wet Monday night in January Ancoats' Cutting Room Square isn't exactly jumping...quite a few places were closed...however we got a warm welcome at Rudy's - not rammed, just nicely buzzing - Just the ticket! Our waiter was chummy, knowledgable about vino. Pizzas always appealing and the rum baba (is this new I haven't seen it before?) was mega! We tried the orangecello, had coffee and left with a pizza oven glow!

Wow. The staff are nice and professional. How was the pizza? Like in Naples, and I've said it all! I want to eat a desert as well but unfourtunatly I didnt had tine. I want to thank the lovely lady manager for the gesture she made for me, saying that everything was from the house, because i m a Nice person. She made my day! 🙃 I will definitely come back but with the condition that I will pay all the bill! :) Thank You again !

Great customer service, our daughter went here last night for her 21st with friends from uni, we don’t live in Manchester but I called and they were so helpful and gave a glass of fizz to her at the table and then also sent over a birthday brownie…… she loved it. Also the girl who looked after the table was lovely to them all. They will all return.

We waited 40 minutes for a very uncomfortable seat (the counter). Waitresses are not professional at all. They keep going around pretending they're working. Nobody came to ask if we needed anything or order any dessert. They take ages to do everything. There wasn't enough tomato sauce on the pizza and it was overcooked. Mozzarella also tasted weird. Not recommended at all. If you want a decent pizza, book a flight and go to Naples.

There is quite a few in Manchester City centre but this one is slightly tucked away although still quite busy

Super delicious Neapolitan pizza. Service was super nice, a blonde. Price performance is completely okay. Will come eat here again. Unfortunately there was nothing free inside, so we had to sit outside. It was cold but there are heaters, which we thought was great and so we enjoyed sitting outside.

Recently moved into Cutting Room Square, visited this evening with my son. Not the first time I have visited but as always a great experience. Service and food is great. Keep it up.

Visiting Manchester for the City v West Ham game, this branch of Rudy’s is ideally located in Ancoats, so just a 15 minute walk up to the Etihad, Warmly welcomed and seated, our waitress came to introduce herself, and from that point we were so well looked after, Pizzas are always perfect at Rudy’s, whichever restaurant you visit, they’re that good, the triple pepperoni was fab, First time trying the Nduja Aioli, won’t be the last, free desert and coffee was greatly appreciated, Our go to place for gorgeous food at a brilliant price, with top notch service, can’t beat Rudy’s.

If you are in Manchester you must visit this restaurant! The pizzas are exceptional, best I ever had. Great drink selection as well… Make sure to pre book as the place seemed very busy.

I have visited Rudys quite a few times whilst living here in Ancoats. Always a delicious selection on the menu which is seasonally updated. I would recommend to book in advance as walk-in’s can mean an hour wait quite easily. But nature of being such a popular place of the area. Also a really cool decor, with some cool vintage movie posters!

Lovely food, spent around 50£ including drinks and we had to get our leftovers boxed to take away. Stuffed! 😁👌🏻 I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere because we were seated on a table that felt a little in the way of staff getting to their till etc. But apart from that we loved it 😁

I used to have a 5 stars review for rudy here but had to delete, very disappointed they made us wait for waiting 20 mins no one came to get our orders wow. We got so annoyed and left after sitting down for 20 mins for no reason. they were not even busy

Saturday night on a weekend away with friends and no booking. Luckily we were promised an outside table if we could wait 30 minutes, so we went for cocktails at Blossom St Social, got a text when the table was ready, and claimed our spot. Fabulous pizza, great value drinks and a brilliant server who is studying to be a barrister. Excellent all round!

Estuve aquí muchas veces, pero en esta ocasión en particular nuestras pizzas estaban frías en el medio, ni siquiera tibias, pero frías y sin cocinar. Estaban contentos de hacer unos frescos pero desafortunadamente también volvieron fríos.

First time visiting this weekend and we were served by a very hostile and unapologetic waiter. He was belittling and did not explain the seating arrangements kindly. Instead he took the opportunity to give us a telling off and make us feel awkward for not ordering food straight away when we were ordering drinks. We left with no apology from him, quite shocked with the experience

Third time now in a row of issues with noise with you guys.. who the hell is cutting through metal using power tools at 1:34am in the morning?! Last week it was the front being jet washed at 4am. Absolute joke.

Fantastic pizzas, one of the best I’ve had. I especially loved the garlic cheesy bread and the Gorgonzola & Capocollo pizza. The hint of rosemary and the honey coated walnuts added such a great touch. It is also located off such a cute courtyard in Ancoats. It is small but worth the visit. The staff are very friendly too.

Easily the best pizza in the city, Rudy’s never disappoints when we pass through Manchester. This time, we lived the Gorgonzola and Capocollo pizza, which had just a magical blend of mozerella, hints of Gorgonzola, a light honey glaze, olives and amazingly toasted walnuts. The cheesy garlic pizza is also beautifully done, with just enough garlic to punch through without being overpowering.

Pizza are all delicious. It’s the best Pizza I have ever had. Very busy at Saturday afternoon @1:00PM. Price is cheap. Not luxury look of inside. The inner dinning room do not have any window. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Recommend triple pepperoni. Hardly to find car park. Will definitely come back to try more flavors. Thanks for open a such delicious reasonable price restaurant.

I haven’t been to Italy yet, but my experience here felt like a taste of it. 😋 From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warmest smile, and the staff who took our order & served us were just as friendly. The restaurant’s aesthetic is charming, with four "chalkwalls" showcasing the menu and petite wooden chairs that create a cozy atmosphere that felt like an Italian nona's kitchen on a Sunday evening. I would have loved to try the garlic bread, but didn't because it was just a small group, and we didn’t want to overindulge. The pizza, however, was the star of the show—and it did not disappoint. The dough was incredibly fluffy, like a pancake, and the toppings were exactly as I’d hoped they’d be. I’m already looking forward to trying the dessert menu on my next visit! We enjoyed: 🍕 Almost Lasagne 🍕 Triple Pepperoni 🫒 Nocellara Sicilian Olives 🍹 Hugo Spritz 🍹 Rudy's House Lemonade Highly recommend this spot for an authentic taste of Italy! 🇮🇹🍕🥗🍷 Also, lleaving a cash tip is a great way to show your appreciation for the hardworking team, they really value it! Some of the best Pizza we have had in a while! We ordered the Triple Pepperoni and the Almost Lasagne which was one of the specials. They were both really delicious, definitely would recommend. I would also recommend the Blood Orangecello Mimosa. Service was excellent as well, very friendly and fast!

All of the toppings were thrown in the centre of the pizza so we had to space it out when it arrived. I've only been once before but it was very disappointing this time around.

I recently visited the Ancoats branch of Rudy's Pizza Napoletana with my husband for the first time, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. We arrived around 4 pm on a Saturday when the restaurant was busy but not packed, as there were clearly some empty tables available. Despite this, we were the only ones waiting to be seated, standing at the entrance for about 5 minutes before another couple joined us. What followed was a frustrating 10 minutes during which multiple staff members walked past us without so much as a glance. None of them seemed occupied with anything of importance—they were just wandering around the restaurant while only one staff member appeared to be actively serving food. The couple behind us eventually left, commenting on the slow service. At this point, we had been standing there for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Finally, a man came over and seated us at the back of the restaurant, where there were even more available seats. We were placed near the bar, and there were two staff members in this area: a man behind the bar preparing drinks and a woman serving customers. After a few minutes, we were ready to order, but once again, no one approached us. I tried to catch the attention of the staff, but they avoided eye contact. When the female staff member came to the bar to get some drinks, I asked if she could take our order. Her response was shockingly rude: she snapped, “I can’t take your order right now, can you give me a few minutes? I need to serve these drinks,” with a lot of attitude. I was stunned and just said, “Okay.” The man behind the bar, noticing the awkward tension, immediately offered to take our order. The female staff member then realised her mistake and half-heartedly apologised, saying he would take our order instead. As someone who has worked in customer service, I understand how busy it can get, and I wasn’t demanding that she take our order right then and there. I just wanted her to know we were ready so she could come to us when she had a moment. Her reaction was uncalled for and made the whole situation unnecessarily uncomfortable. The rest of the service didn’t improve much. It took forever to get the bill, and we were left sitting there, waiting to pay, feeling completely ignored. Eventually, my husband had to flag down the same man who had seated us to ask for the bill. What should have been a lovely meal with my husband turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience due to the lack of basic customer service. The staff needs serious training on how to handle busy periods without ignoring customers or responding rudely. We won't make the mistake of returning to this branch again.

We were walk ins at Rudys and excited to try these Pizzas! . I ordered triple pepperoni. The pizza came looking good but very cold in the middle as if it didn’t cook. We sent this back, only to find the next pizza was exactly the same. Also the mozzarella wasn’t really cooked either. I understand the middle can be soft but not raw. We refused to pay and they did accept this.

Pizza was cold in the middle sent back twice unfortunately, what i found was 1 star is when asking how long the bill would be i was asked did i not like that either. One waitress was absolutely amazing very apologetic and very nice hats off to her this place was not for me

It was great to be able to sit outside in the mild but dull weather. Service was attentive and pleasant. Two of us went for the specials this month (nerano and calabrese con melanzana) and the third for the carpriccosa. We tried some of each other's and all appreciated the quality ingredients and fresh tastes. Dips for the crusts were also a nice idea. Rosé wine was pleasant and the primitivo excellent. There is also plenty of room to sit inside with the dining area being deceptively large. We didn't rack up too big a bill, so it was good value for a Saturday lunch out in Manchester.

Food was lovely. The lady that greeted us and took our order was lovely. However the man in the fake palm angles top was awful. This man kept coming over before we were done and tried to brush us out. He was also slamming plates around .He shouted at my friend “How much would you like to pay” after she told him the amount. He then continued to shout “I Am SpEAking EngLiSH” then proceeded to spell out the work “English” when he didn’t understand her. He then realised he was being rude and apologised and offered us 3 lemon cello shots. He didn’t bring them over until we had our coats on. Then as my friend was doing his shoe lace he rudely told him to get his shoe of “his chair” before quickly brushing us off. The whole meal felt under pressure

Quick service probably busier on weekends, the food was lovely and the chubby guy was friendly and talkative, a must if you love Neapolitan pizza!

Wanted to pop on here as we frequent this restaurant often and it’s somewhere our family always go. It just never disappoints! Big compliments to the staff they are always very welcoming and accommodating.

Managed to get a table in peak time on a Saturday. Great service despite business. Food and drink served really quickly which was a bonus as we were in a rush. Pizza was superb. Some interesting options and classics on the menu perfect for all palates.

My first time at Rudy’s, was super excited to try - love pizza and was going with friends who are a big fan of another branch elsewhere. Service started out great, we were sat outside and our orders were taken quickly despite this by a friendly waitress named Inez (I think!). Drinks came back immediately and pizza was no more than 10 minutes later which we were pleased with. The pizza looked fab and for the most part tasted amazing too, the burrata on top was lovely. It was just a bit oily and then liquidy with the honey, which was also a bit odd but my own fault for not reading the pepperoni pizza description properly. The only thing forgotten was my friend’s dip but this was brought as soon as we told the waitress. It began to bucket it down with rain but our waitress was quick to come out and put down the umbrella which we appreciated. Later I nipped in to use the loo and walked in that direction, before being called back by the hostess and questioned whether I was a customer. I can’t describe it but something was just super off about this interaction, the hostess asked where I was going and I replied to say the toilets - the look she gave me back was like I’d killed someone which I thought was really weird, but she quickly clarified I was sat outside and let me pass. Once the rain got too bad for the covers to handle we asked the hostess if we could move inside for drinks and maybe dessert. I think they had some reservations so it took a while to see whether this would be possible but we were eventually sat and ordered a drink and a dessert. Again, it was so strange - we were sat (she gave us an eye roll as we were sitting down) and ordered immediately but the hostess went aside and was throwing some crazy dirty looks and gesturing a waitress over in a hushed manner. I think she was annoyed by us wanting to wait until the rain was better to leave but we’d just spent 50 quid on pizza and were ordering more food and drinks so I didn’t think this would be a problem. Anyway, dessert came and unfortunately had a hair in it (we were desperate at this point to avoid any further interaction after my friends had pointed out some looks she’d given behind each other’s backs as well) but we found another super friendly waitress who replaced it for my friend with a fresh one as well as deducting it from the bill - above and beyond because my friend was more than willing to pay. I can’t think of anything we’d done wrong, my friends and I have worked at the same restaurant together for years and have had our fair share of annoying customers but we’ve never handled anything like this woman did, especially given we’d done nothing annoying as far as I knew. It was just so odd, very uncomfortable but in summary - won’t be back and shall be sticking to the regular branch which is a shame cause this spot was super cute and the other staff looked so friendly.
