Village Urban Resort in Dudley

i have used the village a lot now for quite a few years,normally the pub,but on a early morning trip out on the way back i popped into starbucks for a coffee,i was greeted by two smilimg faces and this at 6.15am the coffee was excellent, kim and henrietta a credit to starbucks certainly a excellent way to start the day off

Call me sensitive but ignoring people is very bad manners in my view. To me it indicates that you have so little regard for another human being that they do not even have to be acknowledged. I make no exceptions to this, and when in Italy my partner got a bad meal, I told him it served him right for ignoring the manager when he greeted us at the door. My meal was fine. So I was not very happy when my partner waited at the bar for 10 minutes in clear view of 3 bar staff busy cleaning without any acknowledgement at all. He is very relaxed and a signal that he was seen at that someone would be with him in a minute would have been fine, but no, not even that. So seeing him getting annoyed I went up to the bar and asked if they had a problem serving him. This resulted in the bar tender telling me he didn't like being spoken to like that. We walked out and told the staff at the door that we were going and why. Should the bar staff read this, as far as I am concerned if you treat people without a modicum of decency in the first place you should not be surprised when they are rude back to you. To the management, the first, the golden rule of business, any business, is do not ignore your customers. If they have that lack of respect for their customers then you could expect that lack of respect would follow through to the food, the drinks and the hotel. My partner also noted that they had been watching the England match while cleaning so this may be why they missed him, but I never saw that.

My daughter and son brought me and my mother this experience from groupon. It was 2 treatments each and a cream tea costing £88. As I work full time I opted for a Saturday. My daughter booked us in and at no time did they say we would have to pay £15 each because it was a Saturday. My daughter paid £10 for us to have towels and robes. This took her cost to£108. Upon arrival we had a 10 minute wait for someone to come to book us in. Then we were asked to pay the £15 charge, they even wanted us to pay for the robes because this had not been put on the system, they wavered the robe charge. We had no choice to pay this extra £15 each, as we would have lost our pamper day. We said we were going to use the pool steam room and jacuzzi, we were shown to the changing area. When we went to the pool it was full of kids jumping on and off floating aids. There were also some swimming lessons going on. Just 1 lane for swimming. My mother is 75 and not a fast swimmer and felt as though she was holding others up, so we gave up as a bad job. We had our treatments which were lovely, used the showers which were also nice. Off we went for our cream tea in the pub area, full of men and kids watching the football, it was so noisy, the last time we has afternoon tea here we went into a lovely place next to the spa what happened to that. I would not say I felt I had had a pamper day I felt more stressed than when I started. I do a lot of these experiences and have had far better I will not go back. In all this experience cost £138 which is nearly the full cost. What a rip off I am also going to write a letter of complaint to the head of the hotel.

Regular customer who has stayed at almost all village hotels in the uk. The Sunday stay and eat deal is amazing value. Again I’ve experienced an excellent two course meal in the verve grill restaurant in the Dudley hotel. All restaurant staff were attentive and informative, in particular Paf, the duty manager. He was friendly and professional in answering my queries about future stays I have planned. Would recommend both this hotel and the restaurant to anybody. Well done guys keep up the hard work! Used the conference rooms here for 2 days and very happy with the service. Reception staff on both days were very friendly and helpful as were the lady and gent who looked after us in the rooms and hub making sure we had everything we needed.. Both rooms we used were just what we required, clean and modern with good Wi-Fi and monitors. I would defiantly return.

Another lovely Sunday unlimited Carvey at the village ...all you can eat buffet starters main and pudding ...great value for money ..and the staff was great ..thank you to gwen who looked after us too ...

I hadnt heard of Village hotels before but the menu in the Grill was nice. Not cheap and the service was patchy but the food was good.

We ate here a couple of times during Feb 2018, after being recommended it by a family friend. Due to working hours we do, as a family it is very rare we are able to eat out on a sunday , so it has been a long time since we did a carvery, and this didn't fail. Superb!!.... Lovely selection on the starter table, Meats were cooked well and a great selection of vegetables. My only complaint... Yorkshires were hit and miss, and the Mash, both times, was peppered and no sign to say it was... caught us all out and it wasn't very nice, but all in all, it was fantastic value and will be returning again.

Hot and cold starters and limitless desserts. Not an enormous range of veg and have had better meat elsewhere, but the servers are very pleasant and attentive and there is no excuse for not being full. Quite-to-very good value.

Good meal mid range price. Some difficulty paying. Good breakfast buffet. Including hot food. Fruit juice and cereals etc.

Ive stayed here afew times its good value if you wamt a night away or a family weekend with things to do with bowling,the zoo amd living museum all opposite within walking distance.

Fantastic room comfortable and the service was fantastic breakfast was to die for the shower was out this world and the beds are so comfortable with a massive tv and sky sports as well .

My husband and I went for an evening meal after going to the cinema, We had not booked but the staff were very helpful and got us a table. We had the set menu which was 2 courses £15 or 3 courses £20. We had a wait which we did not mind, but the waiter gave us our first drink on the house, which was a lovely gesture the food quality and portions were fantastic, Our waiter Mat was very efficient and helpful always had a smile. Will definitely be going back.

Spa day and staff are lovely enjoyed the gym and a swim and the spa. Unfortunately food for lunch has let this down.. chips not hot just warm and my chicken burger was dry. Also mayonnaise was not hellmans!! Was tasteless.. disappointed

Very good stay for two nights. Staff very cheerful and welcoming. Rooms very clean. Quick to help and see to your needs. Starbucks there bit pricey but it is what it is. Full on gym equipment, great atmosphere. Pool very clean. Lifeguards always attentive. Restaurant clean and always willing to help. Very good time thanks once again.

Went as a group of 9 for Sunday lunch at the village urban resort-excellent lunch and very good value for £12.95 for 4 course meal (icluding soup) -good choice of starters, carvery with 3 meats carved fresh by the chef, good selection of veg, and sweets, with a hot option that could be ordered if desired. Very good experience, and will consider going again. Amy looked after us, and was very helpful, particularly as we had a problem with the bill, which she helped sort out very efficiently

Una buena opción de comida para elegir y una amplia selección de vinos. Era nuestra primera visita a la zona y si nos paso en el futuro sin duda pop para una comida.

Esta es la segunda vez que visitaba al asador en el pueblo y tengo que decir que es excelente. La elección para los 4 campos es muy bueno. El personal es genial y nada es demasiado problema. Si lo que quieres es un gran domingo almuerzo, entonces no busques más, es genial.

It an absolute pleasure today when we visited the carvery. From the moment we arrived until we left we were thoroughly looked after. The waitress, Jojo, made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome - a credit to the hotel! My mom is coeliac (gluten free) and she was provided with her very own gluten free bread and gravy which was very much appreciated. Not everywhere provides specific gluten free food which means she quite often has to go without which is such a shame and makes a big difference between a good meal and an excellent one! There's plenty of choice for starters, mains and desserts. Also, you can eat as much as you want, which is a good thing as everything looks so appetising and tastes delicious.For starters there's a choice of soup which is served via the waitress or you can help yourself to a variety of starters including pâté, cold meats, fish, prawn cocktail etc. For mains, you have a choice of three meats and a variety of vegetables. For dessert, I had apple pie and custard which was served by the waitress and tasted delicious. Besides this you can help yourself to desserts which include freshly made waffles, ice cream, cheesecake, fresh fruit salad etc. We have visited the hotel several times for the carvery and have always found the quality and quantity of food to be excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We went for a girly weekend. We all had treatments in the spa, which we brilliant, very nice, smiley staff. The pool and steam room, and sauna were lovely, if a little crowded. the restaurant staff were all very nice too, and the food good

We have been to a few of these now and they are all have the same layout. Food good and drinks inexpensive.Upper deck worth the extra money although they would be better on top floor as we had strictly come dancing above us.Good value.Restaurant food nice but menu limited as we pre paid,although we booked the meal which the website says free bottle of house wine with meal this is the second time no wine with the meal but didn't take my booking form to restaurant to back this up so no wine so remember to take your booking form.Would return as Village Urban Resorts offer good value for money.

Il ristorante del resort mi ha deluso.Anonimo il bar, priva di atmosfera la sala da pranzo. Doversi inoltre alzare da tavola per recarsi al banco dove e' servito il cibo e al bar per prendere da bere e' accettabile in Autogrill, ma non in un ristorante.Spiccio e frettoloso il personale di sala.Non male la qualita' del cibo, ma banale e limitata la scelta delle pietanze: arrosto di tacchino, carote, broccoli,..

Hope to be looked after by Jess, nothing too much trouble for her. Really enjoyed the food and entertainment. Recommended

Carrie makes the best Skinny Egg Nog Latte. Other Starbucks won't make this drink skinny, which is a shame because I find it too sweet. Carrie goes that extra mile and makes me drink exactly how I like it! Top marks for customer service xx

Dark and dingy room which was difficult to find the lights low double bed with only two lumpy pillows no luxury here tv had very few channelsBathroom well if i was disabled perhaps it would have served a purpose but was horrid full of grab rails and dated kitchen cut outs to mask piping so bad I drove home this was on the first floor no luxury here and would never stay again this was no better than a Blackpool cheap b & b

I attended the village hotel club to be a model for the spa ladies to help them out on there course. I enjoyed my face & back massage by Stacey and the ladies on their training course. I would recommend this for a relaxing afternoon to unwind to anyone.. thankyou xx

Visited yesterday for my wife's birthday meal. Our party was one child and five adults.We arrived to an almost empty restaurant at 18:30hrs and were shown to.a nice round table set out well. M wife and I were first and ordered drinks. Pint of bitter and a red wine (merlot). The wine was ok but the beer tasted watered down and weak. I didn't complain not wanting to spoil the evening. Daughter and family arrived. Daughter asked for a cabinet Sauvignon and Coke for hubby. She was severed with a Cabernet Sauvignon white. Sent it back after a lengthy discussion about wine names with the waitress. Not a great start for them.The menu was ... Limited. Meals were ordered and eventually provided., but not all at once. There was around 5-10 minutes between first and last meals. Not great .. The meals were good and well presented however they were not all the meals we ordered. Apparently there were two fish dishes and while tuna steaks (Niçoise )were ordered , branded Seared Tuna steaks were provided. When queried the waitress started by saying they were the same. We asked why they were different on the menu. She fetched the manager who in my opinion behaved very poorly making a joke about it and started to argue over the differences with my son in law. Eventually they replaced the meals but offered no apology for their mistake.The food again was goodWhen I asked for the bill it came with all 8 meals AND a 17% service charge on it. As I looked the waitress ran over and replaced it with one without the service charge and two meals. They still included the salad they provided by mistake!Needless to say we will not be returning and will recommend others give it a miss.

Had a fab time along with my friend in the pool, jacuzzi and steam room, then we got the munchies and decided we wanted to eat a scrummy carvery. We were told fully booked, but the very helpful waiting on staff got us in a booth a couple of minutes later. Dan the chef was super friendly and the food was excellent. Great way to spend a few hours!

We have visited the Village several times for Sunday lunch and the food, service and Staff are all outstanding. Everyone is very attentive and cheerful and the whole experience is a delight. Dan, the carvery Chef is one example of the super Staff; he is chatty, cheerful and very attentive. Today, we had the pleasure of being looked after at our table by Amy and she was equally delightful. Whoever looks after us at the restaurant, we always come away having had a lovely meal and a very pleasant experience. Well done everyone.

I used the bar restaurant, and found the food looked good but was not as good as it looked. Ordered a large orange juice and lemonade, barmaid served me a small (half pint). When I requested and asked for a pint, her answer was. We don't do these any bigger. I suggested she make two and put in a single glass. It was to much and asked her co worked how can she charge for that. Several people standing at the bar who were waiting to be served shook heads in disbelief. When food arrived it looked really nice, found the chips to be over cooked, and the burgers very dry. It was an okayish meal and won't use the bar meals again.

My parents brought me and my sister a spa treatment/ night at the hotel as a Christmas present..got in to the room and wasn't very clean if I'm honest so we complained nothing came of it so cleaned up a bit ourselves beds was ok just a bit hard ... Location is great got tesco, cinema , bowling and loads of food places walking distance away ..spa treatments was ok nothing spectacular overall I would visit again but not for longer than 1 night

The Spa is relaxing with excellent treatments. Staff attentive and friendly. Pool and surround, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi very good. We had plenty of space with sun beds for the four of us to relax by the pool. Great drench showers in changing rooms. Lovely afternoon tea.

Really good food and good choice of food, a little pricy if you ve not booked in for dinner bed and breakfast, but do the hotel deal and it works out really cheap that way, smallish restaurant and can get busy but staff very friendly and polite and helpful really nice restaurant

Steve warmly welcomed us and were swiftly seated and introduced to our waitress Casey. Very friendly and prompt service with chatty enthusiastic recommendations for the menu.Tasteful decor.Food was lovely and tasty. We had the belly pork along with the pollock and seasonal veg. Very nice.

Loved it they looked after my hen party so well . We had full use of facilities, pool gym etc. afternoon tea was a huge selection of sandwiches,cakes,scones. Had a wonderful time will be looking into membership. The only negative I have is she pool decor is now looking very tired, thank you all so much

Used the restaurant during our stay at the hotel. A very good selection, especially if you are a veggie like me. Well prepared and presented. You have to wait for it to be cooked but it is worth it. Attentive staff and first class Head of Restaurant, who kept every thing running smoothly. The breakfast is also really good. Plenty of choice. Freshly cooked and plenty of it. Definitely will return. it is great to find a restaurant that serves good quality food. Not cheap, but worth it. RJC.

We ate here with my friend and our kids in the easter holidays. We live locally and were staying at the premier inn hotel nearby for a short break. It was quiet. There was only one menu on the table so I went and picked up another one. We were at no point offered kids menus, with 6 kids between us that was quite strange. We ordere the indian curry with naan, portions were very small. I accidently knocked over a pitcher of cocktail the girl came over and put a tea towel on the floor and never returned. I asked if I could have it replaced I was told as I had spilt it I would have to pay for another one! I found this unbelievable. Poor service and absolutely no regard for the customer. We made a big mistake In spending £60 there, never again!

Attended an awards dinner where the food and service was very good. The portions were on the large side, but that's hardly a problem. The choice of chilled wines was excellent and the staff handled my request for a special coffee very positively. This is often the test for me when I ask for something different and they deliver without any fuss.

I had initially a very poor meal, I just sent it back and it was handled very well and ended up with a lovely meal. Better to tell them on the spot and let them resolve positively than go home hungry.

I gave the village a second chance after last year when my husband and I stayed there and the staff refused to clean our room and change our sheets. Big mistake on my part.... Went there today for a 'spa day' for my mother in laws 60th birthday. The treatments were an average standard by beauticians who really were not interested the 'afternoon tea' was two crappy finger sandwiches and a stale scone. When I asked to see the manager he tried to tell me the afternoon tea was a favour on the hotels part and basically I should be grateful that we got two finger sandwiches not one! This place is a rip off with incompetent staff who really don't give a crap about the customers or your experience staying there. Stay away!!!!!!

Rude staff, waiting times are too long, weird decor and everything has seemed to have got smaller, made to a budget and feels more like eating in a public toilet apposed to a restaurant in a high end hotel, save your money and go to Starbucks next door!!!Bring back the old restaurant and excellent choices and we will be coming back.

We went into the Victory pub last night after a workout in the gym. We were starving so we went for the offer of £3 burger and fries. Fantastic offer and delicious burger. We are considering doing this regularly.

Have stayed here a few times and found it reasonable value for money. The lobby and bar are always bustling, there is a decent swimming and sauna area and a Starbucks if wanted. The rooms are a little tired looking but always clean and everything you need is available.

I've was sitting in the reception of the Village(Urban Resort??) this afternoon and ,with the dark painted and poorly lit walls and the "club" music playing -I wondered if this was the reception area of a sophisticated hotel for grown up management-or was it the under 16's school disco?

Parking excellent. Staff very friendly. Checking & out efficient & pleasant.Rooms very good. Good room service. Choice of two restaurants. One formal, one pub.Breakfast very good. Buffet styleFree wifi
