The lovely people at The Seven Stars saved the day! It was my wife’s birthday and we had 17 guests, but our original restaurant was hit by a storm induced power cut. The day could have been ruined but somehow they found us enough tables at one hour’s notice on a Sunday just before Christmas. Thank you so much for the fine food, excellent drinks and wonderful service. Pete, Ruth and all the staff are golden!

Booked a room for the night, when we turned up the staff were very friendly and attentive. They quickly sorted out our booking and we were shown to our room. On entering the room we were really pleased, the room is spacious, the on-suit is large and the whole room is spotlessly clean. The extra's in the room were above expectations, we will definitely stay here again, when visiting the area and would highly recommend the Severn Stars. There is a a fantastic selection of draught beers, something for everyone. The chef is amazing.

You’ll feel so comfortable in this pub you won’t want to leave! Grade II listed, this former Mitchell & Butlers house retains much of its original charm and character with the addition of the exhaustive range of cask ales you will find across the Black Country Ales estate. Top quality bar snacks and so close to Stourbridge Junction 🚂 make this a pub not to be missed.

Nice pub in the Black Country Ales chain. Decent ale selection (there’s always something nice, though most of the 10(+?) hand pulls are taken up by middle of the road stuff), friendly staff. Not cheap but not expensive. The cobs are a contender for best in the Black Country. Seriously!

First visit. Went in the bar - 15, repeat 15 - real ales and ciders on hand pump. We tried 4 between us - all excellent. Given samples to try ales before purchase by engaging bar staff. Scratchings were also excellent. Lovely tiling and coloured (stained?) glass. We were there for an hour early on a Saturday evening. The clientele continued football supportersfrom 2 different teams on their way home post match. Happy atmosphere, no problems. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Will return.

Been meaning to get into here for a while and got the chance last Friday. Brilliant location for a pint before going into brum or coming back from. The pub DOESN’T do food but they gave us a recommendation of a Turkish restaurant nearby. 10 minutes in an Uber and we arrived at a fantastic restaurant. Got back via uber again and tasted quite a few beers and ciders. Lovely sleep in great bed and sooo quiet. Breakfast was superb, massive, tasty and amazing. Lots of tea and coffee. Three veggies amongst us therefore in real terms went with out.Dessert - Not Brilliant Did not get coffee and mincepies as the did not seem on offer. At this point we were getting really fed up and complained.Resulting in not being charged for eighteen month old child meal and £20 off bill of £455.Did not even have cracker on table. When complained told the had tried to get some that morning! No sorbet because of problem with freezer. Eaten out several times on Christmas day this was so disappointing most expensive ever for definitely worst meal ever

Booked a table for my mothers 87th Birthday. I decided to give them a call ahead to see if there was something they could put on the table for her just to make it a bit more special as mom is also disabled so not able to get out very often. I spoke to a member of staff called Matt. I explained it was my mom’s birthday and I asked if there was something they could put on the table and he hesitated and replied in what respect ? I said I don’t know maybe a little balloon he said no sorry we don’t do that. I felt his attitude was a little poor and he came across sarcastic in all honesty and just didn’t want to help and make the visit more special for my mom. I am pretty sure they could have put something on the table even just a little decoration I even offered to pay and to be honest I was tempted to cancel the booking and go elsewhere as never known a pub/restaurant not willing to make someone’s birthday visit just that extra bit special. Especially a lady of 87!!! We decided to go as have been visiting and having deliveries from here for a few years now and always received good service and excellent food. However of late I do feel the standards are slipping. I had gammon and turkey my mom had the turkey and to be honest it was just ok nothing to write home about. 2 roast potatoes and not a great selection of vegetables at all just cabbage and carrots. I did eat it all as I was so hungry but mom left a lot of hers. The waitress serving didn’t once smile and when she brought us our cheesecake desserts they were just plonked on the table and we were handed a spoon which was not wrapped in a serviette and mine had food all up the handle I had to get a wet wipe and clean it off as there was no staff member in sight. We were also not given forks which you should have with a cheesecake. The place just does not have the same welcoming feel to it anymore the standard of service and food has definitely slipped and at 2pm I was very surprised as normally this is a very busy pub but there were not many in at all. I think I will be giving this place a wide berth for a while in all honesty there are plenty more pub/restaurants in the area with better food and service who will always go out of their way to make someone’s special day that bit more special!!
