I was disappointed to arrive at 3.30pm bearing in mind check in time is advised as 3pm to be told the rooms the rooms were not yet cleaned and I had to wait for an hour. The ventilation in the room was poor even although it was pumping all night, the window was streaming with condensation. There was black mould on the ceiling so obviously a long term problem. Dinner was lovely and so was the party. I had coffee before leaving but to honest the service was extremely slow. As they say first impressions count and my experience was poor, perhaps a complimentary drink might have helped me cope with waiting for an hour to get into my room.

Stayed for a week on business Room was good size and clean only problem float in toilet was broken so toilet filled up every 15 seconds all day and all night but close the toilet door and not to bad. Food in restaurant was very limited ok if you want an expensive burger £18 or a snack so not good for evening meal after a days work so ended up going elsewhere on a couple of nights. The breakfast was standard for a hotel so plenty of choice both hot and cold. They have a good gym and a pool if you require it and can be booked with the room if required, gym busy most times as its used by locals. Overall nice hotel.

I arrived at around 9:30 pm to be told that there was issues with housekeeping and we would have to wait for our room. I was there with my young stepson, so I informed them we could not wait long as he needed to get to bed. We were sent to the bar to wait, after around 45 mins we were told there was no room available! We had booked and paid online around 3 weeks prior! The option we were given was to share a small bed, or have no where to sleep. No alternative was offered and no refund could be given on site as no manager has been present for days due to poor holiday planning. We ended up staying at a local Premier Inn who were much more willing to find appropriate solutions for us. I had to chase the refund multiple times over 48 hours as the staff just kept saying they couldn't do it. Every member we encountered was unsympathetic and dismissive. Any hotel that is happy to throw a child out in the middle of the night is one we will never be returning to. An absolutely disgraceful experience.

Great hotel, I have stayed in many of them across the UK and they are worth the money. Sometimes they are cheaper than a purple brand. The rooms were comfy, only issue was the receptionist who wasn’t very engaging and needed some support. Apart from that it’s a great hotel with brilliant facilities.

Great hotel with a very large entrance, a bar and grill to the right and full gym to the left, Continental breakfast was included with the room. The single room was spacious with nice decor, bath/shower was modern and worked well with soaps etc included. Tea and coffee are supplied in the room also. Large function room with outside seating also. Great place to stay for a company event as everything is on site you need for a two day stay. 11am checkout. Large carpark that's free if staying. Swimming Pool also on site but I did not see it.

The room was good standard and the shower very powerful, unfortunately the heads need cleaning as it sprayed in all different directions soaking the floor. The self check-in process wasn't the best UX. One of our party was checked in under the wrong name and given the wrong room so was asked to move but had already unpacked and had a shower. We were given a round of complimentary drinks which was nice. Staff were very friendly. Only one lift to the rooms which got a little busy at peak times so either wait or take the stairs. The lift can only fit 4 in the lift so I would leave plenty of time to check out. Dinner was nice a good value and the wine wasn't bad. The Starbucks was a nice touch for breakfast and morning coffee though I would have preferred a more ethical coffee shop.

Upon arrival, we had to get our bedding changed because there was a big stain on the bed, There was a lot of dust in the room and inside the coffee cups; We had to get the remote control changed due to it being severely damaged and not working. They charged £30 for two Glasses of wine, I’m sure that’s daylight robbery. The staff at the bar were quite rude and as attentive as I thought they would be. At 8 am The housekeepers decided to hoover the hallway which I thought was quite unnecessary, especially with it being on a Sunday! I’m glad I only stayed one night because I don’t think I would’ve stayed any longer if I booked more days.

This was a very hit and miss experience. It's location is good. Now in the middle of a newly built housing area. Close enough to travel links and Solihull. The bar and downstairs area was brilliant. I'm a little old school and prefer more of. A traditional reception area rather than the self check in area. It's nice to feel welcomed and for a person who doesn't stop in hotels often, made to feel special. Our room had been decorated for our anniversary, which was a nice touch. The room looked ok. Walls very thin and could hear the couple next door enjoying their time alone (😉😉) noisy hall area early hours. No phone in the room???? Everything was done via a QR code. This wasn't made obvious. We wanted room service but had to go down stairs to order the food, as the information sheet was tucked up in the wardrobe. Lovely food once we received it and took it too our room. No sort of table to put our food on. Had to balance it on the bed which was a bit awkward. Our kettle didn't turn off once boiled so couldn't leave it. When we checked out, we spoke to a young girl, who to be honest just get nodding like an old fashioned nodding dog in the back of a car saying yeah I know we're due a refurb soon. Didn't take our room number or name for fees back. Lovely hotel, just let down by a few things.

BEWARE. This hotel advertises itself as a hotel with spa and pool but fail to mention you have to pay an extra £5 PER room to use the facilities. If i wanted a bed to sleep in without pool facilities, I'm sure I can spend the night in a Premier Inn for half the price. Ridiculously priced for what you get, you're better off staying at a Premier Inn, Travelodge or Holiday Inn Express. Parking is supposedly free on the weekend ANYWAY so when I queried the extra cost for the pool facilities the lady at the front offered the parking as "complimentary", despite it already being free. There is no proper reception either at this hotel. Would never stay here again, 0 stars if I could.

Being a team leader on the bar at The Village Hotel Solihull and coming in with my family and friends has really given me the chance to showcase what an absolutely fantastic team of staff there are here. It’s the FA Cup final the bar is rammed with an amazing atmosphere and the bar staff are working their socks off! They are on top of everything somehow managing to keep the queue at the bar moving under great pressure and doing it all with a smile. Food runners are quick, efficient and happy and it makes me proud to be a part of this team. So Craig, Jess, Laney and Thomas keep up the good work and a massive pat on the back to you all!

I ordered room service for the resto & paid £91.50 & the reception lady on my check out took my details & said i will get refunded. 5days has gone & i still haven't receive the refund of my £50, only to find out from lovely payel manna when i call today that i need to email Craig Greenway to get refunded!! This is not right. Awful communication. No one contacted me at all regarding my refund! You need to make sure that £50 voucher should be given on arrival., if not, the refund should be process ASAP & if not, should have emailed the customer and update what need to be done to process the refund!! I have recently stayed at this hotel on St Patrick's day. The food service was impeccable but all this was spoiled by others who couldn't manage the drinks they had purchased and this went on all night. So needless to say I didn't get the rest I had booked for and nor did my partner. I have complained to all the parties that were advised to myself and nobody seems to respond. Even calling the hotel seems to be an issue as nobody seems to be there.

I stayed here with my husband on St Patrick's day. Not for the celebrations, I was due surgery the day after at the hospital just down the road. Our room was on a floor with a group of people who obviously couldn't handle their drink. They were loud all night. Running up and down the corridor. Constantly banging doors, shouting, arguing, fighting. This went on all night and not one member of staff appeared to sort the matter. The police even showed up at around 5.30am. Things went quiet then but it was far too late to get any sleep before my surgery. We asked to move rooms as we were booked in for a second night as well and thankfully we were moved to a different floor, even though the young woman on reception didnt really seem that bothered to help us or concern herself with our issue. We have phoned and emailed the hotel to forward our complaints further but we have yet to get a response. The room was clean but the overall stay was terrible, I doubt we will be back.

Dreadful place, busy full of locals strutting to the gym area looking as if their life depended on it, bar loud uninviting and predominantly male. Rooms dark depressing and twin beds are pushed together like a double and really uncomfortable woke both mornings with aches pains and little sleep. Carpark was like something from fast and furious wheel spins, shouting horn blowing and smashed glass everywhere. TV is not a smart TV so limited channels. Shampoo as hand wash in bathroom was just horrible and extremely disappointing on every level.

We stayed at the Village Hotel in Solihull this weekend, having stayed at over 9 of their branches over the recent years we like to know what we’re talking about when it comes to Village Hotels. Upon arrival the lady at the check in desk was superb helpful, however once again at Village Hotel, the complimentary “Glasses of prosecco” were missed (this isn’t the first time) which is fine anyway, as we don’t like Prosecco, but just something to note. We booked the “ Club Room “ this time round to see any difference, although there isn’t any difference compared to the standard rooms, at least I’d hope the rooms are a little less used, personally just go for the standard normal room next time, at some sites you may get a larger bed in the club rooms, so it’s worth comparing branch to branch. We noted an issue with our room and notified the check in team, this was dealt with ok, and the young lady who came to assist was wonderful, super helpful and just generally a lovely person, we’d also noticed some food next to the side of the bed, the young lady swiftly cleaned this up for us (pictured) Marvellous! The view from the 4th floor is pictured, great if you love plane spotting too… although a little far away. The noise on Saturday night from the music and people outside was quite loud, and were the 4th floor up, I feel bad for anyone below us! We bumped into another young lady from the house keeping team earlier today was who also lovely! Starbucks team were friendly too, along with the team within the bar in the day + mornings, super helpful. Breakfast was nice! (Pictured) Turkey and Bacon Club Sandwich was also tasty (pictured) Car park is plenty big enough, room quality is fairly good, personally prefer a shower instead of a bath but that’s my own opinion, bed was comfy too! Do note the walls in the hallways are quite thin… we heard quite a bit of screaming (in a sexual way) whilst walking back to our room… maybe I’ve got good hearing, who knows! Another lift would’ve be nice within the building too, but I know that’s not exactly an easy fix. We’d stay here again. Thanks for having us!

I will be back. I actually can't wait 🥰 So I came here for my Birthday 10/02/2024, on arrival, we were greeted by a super friendly lady called Piyal. Such a friendly lady, who was willing to go above and beyond. She arranged to have balloons put in my room (which was such a lovely surprise) after gifting me with a beautifully presented dessert. A super helpful gentleman called Jake got a trolley for us as we had luggage. The stay just got better and better. In the evening we were served at the bar by a lovely gentleman (I believe his name eas John) and another young lady (Belle) who I will never forget. She was super helpful, kind and we had some lovely conversations. Even if and establishment is nice, it can be spoilt by the staff, that is most definitely not the case here. They are an absolute credit to the hotel. I will definitely be returning. This is my new go-to hotel of choice. Thank you to everyone at the Village Hotel for making my Birthday soo special 🥳

Stayed here for two nights for work and let’s just say it’ll be the last! Damaged bath with rust and chips out it, damaged carpet, dirty & dusty bathroom, gym music so loud that you can’t sleep and the vents, where the hell do you start with the loud vents. Firstly. The gym staff must either not want to hear their customers or are trying to pretend they are in their teens again at a rave. I had the unfortunate chance of being in room 107 right above the gym facilities and the bass you could feel and the music could be heard above the tv and also whilst I had my headphones in for work calls. Really bad. Secondly. The bathroom is beyond help. Just rip it out and replace it. Rusty bath. Chips out the bath. Dirty toilet seat. Dust on the shaver point and the small “window” as well as in the main mirror of the bedroom. The floor needs a good clean as starting to mark. Water damaged door with door stop hanging on for dear life. Lastly. The carpet needs renewed as it’s damaged and just really quite disgusting. I believe they need to look at their ventilation system. Within room 107 the vents are so loud that they will keep you or wake you up. Not ideal if you are wanting a good nights rest ahead of a busy work/travel day. There are definitely better hotels now in the area and the fact this is still classed as a 4* hotel is HIGHLY misleading so the quality of your stay. I have attached photos to prove my points.
