Excellent takeaway. Food very tasty..fantastic portions..and in my opinion the best prawn toast I've ever had..and we got a free drink and portion of prawn crackers..

Best battered sausage I’ve ever had & trust me I’ve had a few! It was so good we had to go back again. The ladies in there were lovely & to whoever keeps prank calling them, grow up who pranks a chippy!!

One of the nicest takeaways in Stalybridge. The Chinese food is lovely not too greasy or stodgy and you get plenty. Definitely recommend

I've used this chippy In the past and it was OK, the last time I used it I got a fish Dinner it Was awful but I give it the Benefit of the Doubt and tried it again this time the chicken ball was all thick soggy Batter and a bit of chicken lukewarm and tasted crap also got salt n pepper chips again awful chips was hard also just warm it cost me £15 with the drivers tip and the lot went In the Bin cheers village chippy for nothing . Avoid this place people now I know why they only accept cash .

Used village chippy for years never had a problem but tonight had a huge black hair in food when I phoned to complain had a very bad attitude put me off won’t be using again

Ordered food like we have for years from them. Tonight the food had black hairs in it phoned them to be given attitude rude on the phone hung up on shocking service for a customer who has been using them for years 😒

Waited again over an hour for food to be delivered, delivery driver sat out side the house for more than five minutes and was not interested about the wait, food is expensive plus the £2 delivery charge and to be honest the food was not very good. Don't mind paying for good fish and chips but will not use again.

Everything about this chippy is amazing. Staff are friendly, prices are great and food is out of this world. Downside? They don't deliver. Still, absolutely fantastic chippy.

Good food even when we change it every time

Not been in here for years, was glad to find it still there. The fish and chips was freshly cooked and excellent. I say fish, it may have been a small whale, and the prices were excellent.

foods ok but customer service has hit rock bottom for me 40 mins over the 40 min promised time twice and food came wrong when turned up, nice food but not worth the hastle when asking where your food is you actually ordered.

We order often from here for work & we have always been massively impressed.

Sadly the Special Fried rice we had tonight was so disappointing. Just a couple of prawns, no beef and only a few peas. I would rather have paid more for the previous amount of meat and veg rather than the poor quality of what was all fried rice we had tonight, so sad

Loved your food, but went and ordered chou main and got the shock of my life. Not had this for a while and you have added water chestnuts to it. WHY it was horrible spoilt the whole meal. Waste of money. Have you got a new cook?? The battered chicken was a bit over done, usually very succulent. Thinking twice now

Ordered two mains only one delivered the one delivered was so salty it was horrible. Had this meal many places never had so much salt not even in sea water.

Eat a lot of Chinese meals and tried different chippy's but this one comes out top every time. Won't be looking for anything better from now on. Found it! Delicious food and pleasant staff. Never had a complaint about anything. Keep up the good work guys x

The best chinese around. We've tried lots off the menu and always enjoyed it. Our favourite is the salt and pepper sharer box.

It's hard to find a good Chinese chippy lately but I do like the Chinese meals from here. Not bad prices either 👌

Just had plain old fish and chips. It was gorgeous the fish fresh and fluffy and proper. crispy batter, who says a chinese cant do english classics.

Went with a few friends for the first time to Village Chippy as wanted to get something to eat. Took 30mins!!! to get order correct and THIS is what I receive! Went back to complain when check food and got told I was lying about it! Very poor food quality and would NOT recommend this to anyone!

This is what I just had delivered you tell me what it is ..msuoposed to be salt n pepper squid hard batter and there was no way it was chewable what ever plastic like center it was ..I will be requesting a refund as its gone in the bin not the first time of late which is a real shame. Not usually one to complain but if you can't answer the phone this is the result. Very very annoying

Tried ringing the shop and complaining before you closed no answer but I shall be requesting a refund for what ever it was or you think you delivered meant to be salt n pepper squid unedible like chewing plastic it's gone in the bin 2nd time now and it's annoying thought I'd give benefit of doubt 1st time but it was shocking please I never want food like that again I unwrapped wat ithought was squid from the heavy coated batter to reveal what was like hard overcooked squid couldn't even chew it I have photos which I'll show you when I come for my refund really disappointed plus the salt n pepper seasoning was way too hot like the ribs we ordered last week which also too hot n spicy salty to eat overpowering we spend a lot of money here but I'm not having it anymore it's gone downhill

I have this chinese pretty regularly, it's lovely never had any problems if anything now its gone better than it use to be yummy!!!!!

This is an amazing Chippy but today I was really disappointed I ordered a Singaporean Spicy Fried Rice with King Prawns. Instead I got mixed meat instead with Beef- which is something we do not eat. This is like Muslims eating pork. Totally unacceptable, I was told come and drop my dish off to get an exchange instead of them dropping off. Customer is always right I am in the catering industry and this was upsetting massively. When you order from these guys please check what is in the dish…

Ordered a takeaway…couldn’t grumble on the service but when the food arrived my chicken with cashew nuts tasted and smelt off! I’ve ordered it from there before and it was fine so I know this wasn’t right. I rang up and told them and was told that it was fine and what do I want them to do about it…disgraceful ! Will not be ordering from there again and would not recommend.

Loved it. The food was great and the chap that was working the fryer just kept on cleaning as he went on. That's a big plus for me. The whole lot tasted great and was mercilessly devoured by the family. Fantastic portion sizes for the money. Previously we've had some of their Chinese food too and wow is it good. Can't recommend enough.

Second Chicken Chow Mein in 3 days. Travelled up from Salisbury and it was worth it. Fresh, tasty and honest food. Efficient service, friendly staff. Unequalled value for money. Would highly recommend. Brilliant! Now had 3 Chow Meins. Service, quality, portion sizes. Wish the Village Chippy was down South! 😪

Ok food, early opening at 4.00 pm which is great.

I ordered food the day before valentines for me and my girlfriend as that were our night off together. She was going to pick it up after work on her way so I rang and placed the order for pick up. 2 minutes later I rang back and changed it to delivery as for 19:45 as my girlfriend was still on the motorway. At 20:15 I rang to ask where the order was and they said on the way now. I live 4 minutes away by car. At 20:30 I rang back to ask where it was again! They admitted it was there mistake as the call taker never wrote delivery on the order the second time I rang. Food eventually arrived 1 hour late and not the best tasting. Surely if I was picking it up at 19:45 and an hour later id not arrived they would call or think something was wrong. Our bill was £23.50 and as a gesture they called it £20. Knocking a shocking £3.50 off, our food was poor, late and our night was ruined, eating food at almost 9pm. I always get food from here but as a walk in. I won’t be bothering again. Shocking service and no apology, only from the very nice driver. Extremely poor customer service!!

Nice food with a quick delivery, spot on.

We ordered shredded beef in ok sauce. I got crispy beef where’s the sauce? The chips were white and greasy. Sweet and sour chicken was like eating a sponge. We rang up to complain and the lady hung up on us and blocked us. Would never eat from here again and definitely wouldn’t recommend this terrible, unpleasant place again.

Ordered chips and chicken burger, both were cold and unpleasant tasting, not on a burger bun just on an ordinary muffin and no salad either. Also ordered egg fried rice and curry sauce.....no curry sauce came so had to drive up to the chippy to get it. The staff member was very rude and tried to charge us for the curry sauce again even though we'd already paid for it! Not even an apology Started to feel ill shortly after eating as well...will not be ordering from here again

Had a meal from there, picked it up so I cannot comment on their delivery. But after eating it, later that evening I began to feel ill. And was ill for a couple days after eating. That puts me off, and I am never eating their again. Terrible.

Ordered from their restaurant on Monday, and yesterday while I was eating the leftovers, I found a bug (looks like lice) in the chicken satay sauce. Had to of course throw it away. Called them today and the woman on the phone was extremely rude, accused us of lying and then hung up. Will not be ordering again, so disgusted.

The Fish are fresh cod. the chips are always piping hot ! The salt and pepper starter box is amazing ! The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are huge. Its gotta be the best chippy in tameside !
