Although I am local, have driven past The Village Bakery for years, this was the first time I have visited this delightful establishment. I went with my brother, before going on to the Warners on Hayling. We both ordered the breakfast and were not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection and was enjoyed with enthusiasm. It was quite busy, with the majority of the customers being mostly in the building trade. This is always a good sign. Thank you Village Bakery, although it was my first visit, it certainly won’t be my last.

Really nice down to earth cafe. Pleasant personal service with good food nicely cooked and served. Cost is low with very reasonable prices.Freshly made pastries are an additional bonus.

We ordered a jacket potato with Tuna mayo and a cheese and tuna panini with two lattes . The tuna was the fishiest tuna I have ever had and I ended up throwing it away. The “salad” was very wilted. My daughters panini was the same. The coffees were already sugared for us- except the lady must of put all of the sugar into one coffee. I get that the prices are quite cheap but I’d rather pay more for decent tasting ingredients. I can’t imagine what their cooked breakfast is like 🤢

Considering it can be very tricky with 2 toddlers eating out, the lady was so polite and patient with the children. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, amazing prices cannot fault this place at all. 1 million percent would recommend this place to anyone.

I only called in here for a take away coffee one cold winter morning with a Spanish friend. She and I are used to very good coffee. But it was the only place open (during semi lockdown.) Whilst the server who attended to us was as helpful as they could be, the coffee is not high quality and in future we would rather do without. (Actually, I poured mine over the grass when we had walked back to Purbrook Heath as it was reminiscent of British Rail tea/coffee - before they improved things.) NB At the time the other customers were not social distancing and this also put me off.

Called in here after an early appointment at QA. Service was quick. Premises really clean. Quite a few builders in - usually a sign of a good breakfast at a reasonable price. This did not disappoint. Had the full English x2 with a few additional items (mushrooms tin tomatoes black pudding) 2x tea and the bill was less than £15 the food was amazing not at all greasy spoon! The sauté potatoes were to die for. The only negative- it was so good hubby is going to want to come every day and with our daughter getting married in 6 days not sure if I will fit in my outfit if we do!

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast today at the Village Bakery. Ordered two full English with extra mushrooms , egg and bread and butter. Asked for poached eggs and told this was no problem. Two mugs of tea brought out and not long after some bread and butter and the toast. That would be my only little criticism as the breakfasts were a good 5 minutes later which meant the toast had gone cold. Apart from that the breakfast itself was lovely, hot and not at all greasy. Will definitely visit again.

If what you want is a classic full English breakfast then this is the place to come. The food is excellent and priced very well, you can have any combination you wish, and the staff friendly. We come here once a month or so when our urge for a lovely cooked breakfast needs satisfying.

Tipped up at this cafe on a Saturday lunchtime for a breakfast and I wasn't disappointed.Food was great cooked well with no excess fat/grease and reasonably priced too.£4:95 for potatoes,beans,egg,2 bacon,2 sausage, a choice of bread and butter, toast or fried bread and a mug of tea or coffee!(see pic)Only two miner negative pointsCutlery had water marks on it (easily removed with a puff and rub). And the bottom of the egg was a little over cooked leaving a kind of skin over it (top of the egg was good though) I admit I'm quite fussy when it comes to eggs!Would definitely frequent this establishment again.5 thumbs up from me.

I took the kids to Village Bakery & Café for an impromptu lunch and they thoroughly enjoyed it. More importantly so did I. :-)We all had an all day breakfast - they had healthy toast etc and I had fried bread for the first time in years. It was lovely! We all loved the café and will be going again!

This café is local to me. I use it from time to time. It is always very clean. The "Purbrook Porker" breakfast is £6.95 but is really good value for money and cones with a mug of tea/coffee. It is always nicely cooked and there is plenty to satisfy a big appetite. There are usually a couple of newspapers available to read too.Keep up the good work guys. All the best - Dusty the Handyman.

The village bakery in Purbrook is definitely worth a visit. The premises are clean and well presented and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. All the food is cooked fresh and their breakfasts are definitely worth going out of your way for. You can ask for healthy options, preferences and tailor your breakfast should you need to. Pastries are delicious and there is seating outside for a sunny day. Give the village bakery a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Made booking for dinner on website last night for tonght . Got confirmationof booking this morning. . Arrived there. Got jumped at the bar first off, then announced we had a table booked for 8pm. Girl behind bar asked 'do we not know about the food situation?'. Obviously not!! They had no chef! She asked when we had booked, so I told her. She offered no explanation! She did how ever offer that we could order from the chip shop or Chinese next door and eat it in there! Not quite what we had planned. Why were we not informed by email or phone? Eventually found somewhere else to eat.

Went with a friend to see 'No Ordinary Love'- a film I wanted to see at the cinema but didn't manage to go. Ticket booking online very easy to do and pick up tickets from the box office. Nice little cafe inside but we didn't partake this time. Great film, helpful staff, will be back for another event soon.
