Always nice food here. Staff friendly and helpful. A shame it's not a bigger premises. Rarely find a seat indoors. They have a few seats outside too.

Just stopped in for a coffee. We had a lovely waitress with super service . The cafe was very busy with a lot of people eating and they all seemed very happy so I think the foods good too.

I went in for a coffee whilst waiting for something. The man who served me who I can only assume is the owner was incredibly polite and chatty! It was pleasant to sit and enjoy a coffee and have a chat with him! I didn't try the food but judging by the smell coming from the kitchen I would guess it's delicious! Definitely check this place out if your in town!

Our first time visiting this little café, and we were not disappointed! Very friendly staff, huge portions of excellent food and at a reasonable price. On top of this, they have supported the local infants school in the past by donating a raffle prize. Whilst this doesn't affect their food or service, it speaks to their community spirit, which matters!! We had a Cowplain breakfast and a chicken roast dinner, and had no complaints about any of it!

Popped into cowplain cafe staff always friendly and cant do enough food clean and cooked well i have vegetarian no2 my son had normal breakfast loverly as always top cafe best in area

Isaac and Kallie are just the loveliest, most welcoming hosts you could ever wish for. All of the food is always delicious, the coffee is excellent and the prices are very reasonable too. Everything is spotlessly clean. You literally just can’t fault anything about this place. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area, for a big breakfast or roast dinner. REALLY, worth a visit! Keep up the good work, and thank you very much for making such a lovely place for us to come and eat.

Recommended by our new neighbours in France (Pete and Belinda Allinson) for our breakfast on a short business trip to Portsmouth. Good food at a reasonable price!

My parents and I popped in with my two daughters this week. We had no expectations, but fancied a coffee and Costa was closed, and I'm really glad it was because we found a gem of a place in the Cowplain Cafe & Restaurant. The service was excellent, and really friendly and accommodating, especially in respect of the children (10 year old and 5 month old). The coffees were lovely, and my daughter had a milk shake, which she said was the best she's ever had. She also ordered the cheesecake, which ended up being shared between us all because it was so yummy that no one wanted to miss out on it. We will 100% be back (and very soon because I need more of that cheesecake).

My husband has more breakfasts here than I do! Any opportunity he is there! I can't blame him, the couple who run the cafe are super friendly and remember your drinks so they're being done before you've even sat down! The food is fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection and they are happy to accommodate any changes to your order. The cafe is lovely and clean and has a great atmosphere. We love this cafe and if you live in the area and haven't tried it, then give it a go! You won't be disappointed! See you again soon!

Lovely hidden gem - a café with great staff, generating a warm friendly vibe to all ages. Breakfasts are fantastic and wide ranging. A great start to the day.

Owner brought me a second free coffee after realising he made the first one with milk when asked for black, what a good egg.

Very pleased with the whole service from start to finish. Very friendly and helpful, prices well within most people's budget. Wide variety in menu and well cooked. Also not long to wait for food. Got my vote.

Would so recommend the breakfast so sizes from small eaters to large eaters, and the milky coffee are out this world.

Had breakfast here and found the service to be efficient and friendly. There were items on the plate which were good eg egg, bacon, and bubble but others that should have been better eg sausages and chips (cheap frozen type), and mushrooms (gritty). Overall for me - average.

The food was great and the service was excellent, I highly recommend it 👌

Amazing staff, amazing owners they are so very friendly and welcoming, makes you feel right at home while your popping in for a big breakfast or a Sunday roast the food is lovely and always fresh n hot. 100% recommend! Also keep checking out the puddings every time I come in, defo getting one to take away they look so tasty!!

Been coming here for years in my opinion its the best all round cafe for miles, I live 12 miles away from cowplain cafe and still make the journey and pass approximately 20 ish cafes along the way just for there breakfast

The staff are very polite, the owner is a really nice guy who does all he can to help. The food is good and very reasonably priced. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick breakfast/lunch.

The menu is extensive and reasonably priced.The roast meals are amazing,all piping hot and well presented.It is rare to visit a restaurant that isn’t all meals with chips. The cafe was spotlessly clean as was the toilet. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon and recommend it to friends and family.

Disappointment! Coffee was, all the ingredients for far too cheap, and all in all was well over priced. We were asked how the meal was, even after our displeasure, we were still made to pay full price.
