Had a table for 6 for brunch on Saturday- what to say...fabulous fresh delicious food, great atmosphere and a very warm welcome from Michelle and her team. You have to visit this little gem 🌟!!

…the best dressed-crab salad ever

Maybe it was a bad day but we dropped by here for breakfast. Not a particularly friendly welcome. Not obvious how to order - we just sat around our allocated table with some other folk on a different table who didn’t know what was going on either. Eventually told by a member of staff “oh, order inside if you want anything!” Drinks took a while to arrive, considering not particularly busy that was a surprise (an iced latte and a flat white!). Food followed after that - a “BBQ breakfast”. Reminded me of a truck stop type affair. Soggy toast. Bacon and sausages in fat / greasy water. Nothing particularly special that’s for sure. Genuinely can’t see why it gets good reviews!

Lovely place to look at and nice views of the marina was excited to give it a try was quite busy in the main area so we sat outside we went into order and the guy that served us not sure if he was rude or just his way but either way wasn’t the best welcome! We ordered what myself and my husband wanted and asked if there anyway they could do some scrambled egg my son has ARFID so always tricky eating it but most places have eggs on there menu and always accommodate but this was a firm no! So we placed our order so we could eat quick to get him home to eat my husbands food arrived wrong again the man was off about that but it did get changed my food a jacket potatoe was very nice with a lovely side salad worth a stop for the view

Appalling service without any smiles and staff unfriendly… used to come here regularly as a bike stop but will seek alternative now.

Lovely bustling cafe, with perfectly executed home made food. Had the bacon 🥓 quiche and salad, chips on the side, then fruitcake and a flat white. Great balance in the avocado salad, no complaints about anything. Will be back.

Lovely spot in the marina. A great place to relax by the water. My son and I went for coffee and cake at about 3pm. The cakes were delicious - we had a chocolate chip shortbread and a cinnamon roll. The coffee was fine. Next time we go, we will try more of a meal, but it looked like we'd probably have to book, as it was very busy.

Consistently good here. Warm welcome, easy ordering & timely polite service. It is worth noting that they get busy & to avoid disappointment I would suggest booking in advance. As with any small establishment, a wait for food at busy times is to be expected...😊👍

My wife and I have been coming here since it first opened and it has been consistently a great experience. The combination of location, good food, good atmosphere and Michelle's team make this a special place to come to.

Nice venue, seating could be a little more comfortable, food delivered quite quickly. Only problem was my Ciabatta bacon and cheese was supposed to have cranberry or chutney on it but it had neither, and it was advertised as such on the menu board, I did bring it to the attention of one of the staff but just received a quick ,"oh sorry" This was today Thursday a 12:30 booking

My daughter and I popped in here on a Sunday morning whilst in the area. Lovely little place and filled up quick soon after we arrived. I had a avo, egg and Salmon roll and my daughter had two slices of toast with beans, a Coke and a OJ. Came to £25 which I thought was quite expensive.

It shuts at 3pm (sharp) not 6pm as advertised. I asked if that was the same every day, and apparently it is. Average prices, average service, so satisfactory. A shame - it could be so much more in such a nice location.

Breakfast and then Lunch at the Salt Shack Cafe were perfect for a visit to Hayling Island after 51 years of absence. A busy venue, for all the right reasons, and Mary Jane managing this happy, up-beat cafe impeccably. Serving such delicious food and drinks in this marina setting deserves recognition and we will certainly be returning soon.

Most of the seating is outdoors and we were told all the outdoor heaters were broken. So a very cold eating experience! Probably best avoided until it's warmer. But also staff very unfriendly bordering on hostile. No hot water bottles or blankets offered to me or my group! Lunchtime on Friday 22 December.

Popped in for a brew and a superb piece of carrot 🥕 cake. Seating in the tented area complete with blankets and a few heaters and offered hot water bottles if required, well worth a visit, will use again.

Came for breakfast with friends and the food did not disappoint - the sausages in particular were packed full of flavour. Extremely reasonable prices as well. Only grudge is that it was a bit cramped seating wise.

Had s lively lunch here. Loved the ambience of this place. Sat on the decking under a frilly parasol with Mediterranean music playing in the background. Made us feel like we were on holiday which was lovely! The food was fresh and tasty, nicely dressed salad and generous portions. Will def be recommending to friends and family.

This is a MUST visit cafe when on Hayling Island. We called for a reservation for lunch as we had heard lots about this place and wanted to make sure we got in. The location is right on the marina and is AMAZING. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel like family, and the food is DELICIOUS. It's served with so much presentation and love, and tastes FABULOUS. I can not recommend this cafe enough. We had heard so much about it and they DIDN'T let us down. Thank you for a truly amazing experience.

We had a pretty good breakfast but the enamel plates revolved so we had to sit them on our table napkins to keep them steady. The table napkins were soaking wet anyway and not nice to use for anything else. It's done to wrap them around the cutlery, but it's unpleasant. My husband's toast was burnt black with the black side down. I found a £7.50 tiny price label in my coffee! The coffee was excellent but the label unexplained. I didn't realise until I'd finished my apple juice that the glass was really badly cracked. We received apologies. I think that standard have slipped.

I was attending a training course and had heard good things about the Salt Shack. I decided to go there for my lunch with some other students. We were not disappointed, the location is amazing, the food was delicious and the staff were brilliant. I would 100% recommend the Salt Shack

Quiet idyllic location over looking the Marina. Good seating and tables. We were served at the table by friendly staff. Food selection does seem to vary according to season / busyness, which is not surprising.

Wow, what a location. Overlooking the beautiful sea and boats, with cosy seating and tables outdoors and indoors, it’s stunning. The food is fantastic and the staff very friendly. You couldn’t want anymore!

This café has a very nice atmosphere - a good spot right by the deck and line of boats. The staff were friendly, the food we had was really decent and there was a good variety to choose from. We will be back should we return to this area!

Just spent £16 on 3 coffees and a cake. all coffees mediocre (especially for £4) and the cake was too small for £4 (was very tasty though) i would not recommend for coffee but i am not sure about food. also, 60p for oat milk was a little excessive. chap who served us was lovely though

Booked a table on September 11th for lunch. An enjoyable 7 mile cycle ride got us there with 10 minutes to spare 😊👍. Greeted politely after which our table number ( 6) was pointed out to us. We both enjoyed our respective meals, both of which arrived promptly. Until next time 😊👍

Staff unfriendly. Bad energy and rude Add tips compulsory even though you need to order at the till. Dirty stuff too. Views not that great Expensive! £24 for 2 full English & coffee (+tip ! :( )

Very limited menu. I asked if I could have toast rather than ciabatta. I was told this could not be done as food is cooked on the bbq, despite toast being offered with the full English breakfast. A little disappointing.

We turned up for lunch with no booking. The staff were incredibly accommodating and managed to push some tables together. The food was fabulous, the service was 5 star, and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Would highly recommend this gorgeous little place by the water❤️❤️

Me and my partner had visited this wonderful cafe while exploring Hayling. I must say it is absolutely WONDERFUL! The food was amazing and full of flavours but most importantly we felt welcomed by the staff. Two young girls stuck out the most for us...

Complete find, we stumbled on this it's right on the seafront, we stopped had tea and coffee with scone, didn't need to ask for the scone to be warm it was which is just how we like it, really good customer service, the food been...

Right on the coast of Hayling Island. Walkable to the resort where we stayed with over priced food. Nice view good coffee and cakes, savoury options available but didn't try. Decent prices. A shame not after 4pm...

This is perfect, just what the area needs. Fresh good value fish, imaginative menu. Setting and ambiance perfect. The food was so tasty and fresh. and service fabulous. Felt the owner really cared about everyone having a lovely evening. Definitely on our 'fav' list now.

Had a fabulous dinner at the Salt Shack tonight. Location and view perfect. Friendly staff, great menu choice for food and drink. Catch of the day, Sea Bream, was delicious. Added bonus they are very dog friendly.

This was amazing! Food was gorgeous and it felt like we were on holiday! I want to pop back this weekend it was so good! Only issue was the parking so be ready to circle a couple times but overall a cracking venue!
