Vijay's Virasat in Redbridge

The best curry I can recall. Lovely place, great service and amazing food. We had an Indo Chinese prawn dish that was out of this world 10/10, simply the best.

We had a lovely evening at Virasat today, we were a group of 9 went to celebrate my Son’s birthday. We were very happy with the service and food today. The staff was very helpful and attentive even it was a very busy restaurant. A big thanks to Shivam who looked after us very well and to his team. We look forward to visit again soon.

Simply the best Indian restaurant I can recall going to including Michelin stared restaurants in town. Had an unforgettable Indo Chinese Prawn dish - can’t wait to go back!

Modern Indian restaurant, a lot bigger inside than it seems from the outside. Service was great and food was lovely. For the not so adventurous, the menu might not be perfect as some of even the typical mild dishes are still a bit spicy but all very tasty and a great range.

Best around! Greatest good, friendly staff, lovely setting. Even had live music the evening we were there.

Vijay’s ilford restaurant deserves a 3 star rating. The food is amazing, the atmosphere of the restaurant is lively however staff can be less attentive. Also, parking is a pain here!

Absolutley love this restaurant. The food is outstanding, the staff are so professional and attentive. Took my friend here for her birthday, did not tell the staff it was her birthday but they must have overheard, and at the end of our meal came over with a portion of cake, 2 alcoholic shots, and a birthday card, so incredibly kind. The food is really amazing here, the fried masala fish is a must try the cocktails are divine. 10 out of 10 for the restaurant and the staff. Thank you all for making our evening so enjoyable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing food, amazing service. A must visit when you are in town

Had a late lunch with 4 of us. Good selections of authentic Indian dishes. The food was constantly refilled and remained hot and was tasty. The place was well attended with groups of friends and families celebrating birthdays. The staff were obliging and attentive. Overall,it was good value and I do recommend it.

Literally the best Authentic Indian resturant in Ilford. The food is at another level, staff will facilitate most of your needs while being very nice and polite at the same time.

Let me tell you coming from Charlotte, NC USA this is the most authentic and amazing Indian food you can get in EAST LONDON I would recommend the chefs special chicken PUKT it was absolutely amazing. Definitely worth a try when visiting East London. Vegetarian options are amazing as well. 😁

Absolutely amazing from walking through the door having heavenly delicious food but not just the food the TEAM were so polite nice smiley 😊 we have been using the restaurant since it was Curry special which was also fantastic but the restaurant now is another level! Fantastic! A warm welcome from Ali, Ved and the team on our arrival, thank you :-). A great Wednesday evening with a Live Singer in performance, Happy Hour on cocktails till 9pm, the best local Indian Restaurant, no doubt. All the food was warm and fresh and full of traditional flavours. The Paneer Tikka Masala is a personal favourite, highly recommended. The Virasat team have been maintaining a high standard, consistently, for as long as we can recall (7/8+ years)! We look forward to coming back.

We went there for family dinner and I had an amazing experience at Vijay virasat. The customer service was outstanding, and the food was exactly what I was looking for. I was really so pleased with their service I received from this staff. “I was very impressed with the quality of the food we had. It was exactly what I was hoping for. They got the perfect indian taste. I would highly recommend everyone to try at least once you will definitely enjoy your night out. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐. Thank you to all the Virasat team. **** HIGHLY NOT RECCOMENDED**** ***They do not respect Muslim people***!!! Absolutely terrible service. Staff extremely rude. Started arguing with us that because the waiter is Muslim even though he serves halal we should take his “word” the food is halal. We told him okay and he kept on arguing. Manager came and apologised at first, then started arguing that this is England and we need to eat here even if they don’t have a halal sign. We refused and they made a scene to give us a refund for the online order. They state in their website for the food to be halal with 0 proof! Restaurant owner should fire and retrain its staff. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Arguing in front of the only 2 customers they have as well. Karma is well deserved and inshallah they will not see any of my friends and family there again.

The food was delicious. The manager and staff were attentive without being intrusive. The drinks were fairly priced and tasty. The atmosphere was great with one caveat... although the live singer was talented he had a habit of cranking up the volume so that it was hard to hear each other. Would definitely recommend!

Went here for a work leaving do. Food was good and plentiful. Set menu including soft drinks for a fixed price so no awkward bill to pay.

We order desi chicken and when food came their was no born chicken pieces inside only 2 pieces also staff said u have to paid for dish because of u order and we gave same dish no any mistake from Restaurant , when we asked to manager to this problem he said their was 6 pieces born chicken inside but my fries already taken out 4 nor less chicken pieces from dish and press and broken chicke thier was born or boneless but it was 4 pieces born-less in front of him , but still they not agree manager take his staff side ,, we been their always last 5-6 years Not satisfied their service and staff very rude said paid for dish??????

This restaurant never disappoints! We went for the Sunday buffet as a party of 6, we filled our bellies, everyone loved it and had a favourite dish. We are regulars at this restaurant - either dining in for family events or ordering a takeaway on a Friday night. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and always attentive. The food is fantastic - the mixed grill and tandoori chicken are amazing but there is something for all different tastes. Couldn’t recommend the restaurant highly enough - it’s easily the best Indian restaurant in the area.

Book the restaurant for their Sunday buffet...large group to celebrate a birthday. We went 2 weeks in advance to book the venue and make sure we understood what was on offer and how it all worked. First the chap who was dealing with us gave us a menu to show the buffet items, great. Then closer to the date he told us that menu was for a set meal and had nothing to do with the buffet !? Second, we were promised the space upstairs, secluded and private. On the day, we turn up and get told sir downstairs with everyone else. We were a group of 17. The buffet itself....don't bother. The veggies were not impressed and the meat eaters could only say the lamb curry had any flavour. The chicken flavour honestly tasted like a frozen meal, no spices, depth of taste and the chicken pieces were hard to chew. The dessert was something pineapple related...noone had it. I am sure the Al a carte is better...don't waste money on buffet. We left more on our plates than we ate.

We came as a family to eat for Mother’s Day. To begin with we ordered 3x Cobra beer which were all flat. We told the waiter who offered us Tusker from the bottle instead. We actually wanted the draft beers. In addition to this the kebabs we ordered were stale. The food that we ordered was not fresh and felt like it had been pre-made. Our whole family had upset stomachs all night and it wasn’t just experienced by one family member but by the entire family. I will not be visiting again. They should be making their food fresh to begin with.

I got hair in naan and when i saw them. They said it’s happened sometimes. Honestly since last 2 year i only eat from here that what i like in east London and i based in kent but somehow with this reply i won’t come anymore.

My first visit with friends who dine regularly at the restaurant, I was absolutely wowed by the service, it is very rare to get HOT places in restaurant where the food is served whilst the plates are still hot, nothing was too much for the waiters, all very attentive and polite, Loved their professional look, the ambience was just right without having loud music blaring in the background so we could have a decent conversation during dinner between us, The highlight of my dinner was the Lychee Gin & Tonic, it was Lush !!!!!!!!!!

Came twice here not that impressive with service but the food was excellent seekh kebab and special fried rice was excellent.

I have been coming with the family to this restaurant for the last few years. Our previous favourite restaurant has gone downhill over the last few years so we were looking for authentic indian food locally & this is a superb restaurant. Superb starters & great mains. Proper Punjabi style & great service. It’s an undiscovered gem.

Celebrated my mums 80th birthday and the food and staff were excellent. Nice atmosphere and we were all looked after very well.

Consistent, reliable and delicious - cannot fault this place. Generous portions and super friendly staff. Excellent adaptation for allergies and attention to detail such as how fiery or mild the food is. I would consider adding more soft furnishings to absorb more sound for when it gets busy.

Just returned home with full bellies after having a wonderful meal here. All our food, starters- chilli chicken, pakoras. Main -butter chicken, lamb, biryani and the lovely naans were absolutely delicious. The flavours were out of this world. Hats off to the amazing and talented chef. The service was great. We were greeted very nicely on arrival and waited on with care and patience. We weren't made to feel hurried or rushed. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Decor beautiful, clean and tidy. Mocktails were yum! We had the Virasat special and the Colada. Will most definitely make this a regular place to visit and highly recommend it.

I ordered paneer tikka masala but only when we had a few bites did we realised that it’s actually chicken. I’m a vegetarian and I don’t eat chicken at all. It was such a bad and overwhelming experience realising what it actually is. I used to love this restaurant (a loyal customer, to be honest), but this was extremely disappointing. I’m never going to order from this place again, I find it hard to trust this restaurant now. How can they be so careless and irresponsible? I’m now doubting their hygiene as well. Tremendously disappointing.

I placed an order Friday evening for a take away I ordered Garlic naan Keema naan Lamb rogan josh Malai tikka Shashlik paneer tikka Absolutely disgusting Keema naan had a few grains of mince Lamb had so much fat on it Paneer / less paneer more veg Veg was disgusting Big fat pieces of onions, peppers and tomatoes Garlic naan over cooked hard and chewy Poppadoms rubbery n chewy Malai tikka - under cooked The prices are extortionate and food was awful/ I have eaten here many times and ordered food. They are obviously cutting out good quality food and just improvising Never again !! Wasted £45

Visited for a buffet on the weekend. Quality food but limited options and unlimited soft drinks with the buffet. Customer service was very good.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience when I ordered food via Uber Eats. Taste wise not so bad, but grossly overpriced for what they serve. Mutton biryani is more like pulao and Noodles are very average. I also ordered chilli chicken to go with noodles and what I got was home style chicken curry. For the price I paid the quantity was miserable.

First time when I went we had a great service band food was worth eating. But on Saturday which is 09/sep/2023. No proper service non proper food presented. In fact the staff was not at all corporative. When I tried to open the food lid, it was so hard to handle by ourself and fell with great force and the fire fell on my right thigh. And when informed the staff had no concerns. Pathetic service of the staff Chef food was good.

I visited Virasat for my birthday! I told restaurant that we will be 18 adults but unfortunately only 16 adults came to the party. But this restaurant charged for 18 adults even when I told them before hand that it might be 2 more or 2 less adults. The buffet we had was their general buffet, open to all, even walk-ins! I don’t understand why we were charged extra.. was food made specially for us..? Did they refused any walk ins because we have booked it for 18 and only 16 came.. or their food got wasted because of us? If instead of 18, 20 adults would have come to our party, so they won’t have charged for it or the food would not have been available with them? If they can charge for extra, they could have managed will 1-2 people less.. sometimes there are emergencies when people are unable to turn up.. and it was a matter of just 2 people and the manager was so adamant.. It was highly unethical..after all it was my hard earned money charged fe tea with no valid logic!! Virasat’s food is good but they should consider their policies.

We tried veg food and it was bit on the sweet side but kids loved it, good portion and nice service. I recommend to book a table in advance on Fridays or weekends. Space it little cramped and ambience could be better. Bollywood songs in the background but noisy. Budget wise is also okay compare to the other indian restaurants in Ilford.

The manager mas is friendly and professional, always looks after us when we dine in or do an take out. Will recommend everyone to go and ask for the manager for your special evening for a special at Vijay Virasat.

Food was just ok ok types. Paneer tikka shashlik starter was extremely bland. Main course was ok but then very small portion for the price charged. Staff was courteous

We went here for Sunday lunch, around 2pm, and it was very poor. For £16 pp you would expect a wide variety of dishes. Unfortunately, there were just a handful of starters, 2 curries, daal and rice. Presentation was something like you would get in a canteen. Even worse, all the food was lukewarm to cold. When we complained to the waiter he said if we had come at 12pm the food would have been hot!! They then acted as if they were doing us a big favour by warming the food up. Seems the food had been out for a couple of hours without being replenished. Stick to a la carte menu in the evening. This was very poor value for money. Under no circumstances should they be serving up cold food.
