Hasnath and his team created an amazing tasting restaurant, but sadly it has come to an end. The food was very nice and the staff were friendly. Will be missed

VERY sad to say that The Golden Curry is closing on 1st Sept after 58 yrs (they opened in 1966). Lovely food, place and staff. It will be sorely missed.

Great food and service. My mums been coming here since 1968!! And the food is just as good now as it was when she first visited all those years ago.

Absolutely phenomenal, first time trying it this evening and it was perfect, tasty lamb bhuna, plenty of meat, perfect mushroom rice and sag aloo 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

I just dined here with my family, and the food was amazing. Every curry, and rice and whatever we took was spot on. The service was top notch, have no complaints at all. The atmosphere there was a bit empty im guessing due to it being late at night, but overall highly recommend everyone to check them out.

very bland food and ordered garlic naans and pretty sure they were plain .only decent thing was the pompapoms. Normally love abit of left over Indian but the unlucky foxes can have it tonight..if they're desperate

We have been using the restaurant for years, we have moved out of the area recently but they still deliver our weekly curry to Hornchurch, I’ve tried most of the local Indian restaurants but always return to the golden curry. The family have just celebrated my 60th birthday there and the food as usual was great and all the staff so friendly

The food was hot, delicious and plentiful.

I enjoyed my meal at Golden Curry. The dishes were packed with flavor, and the spice level was perfect. I found the portions to be generous, and the prices were reasonable. The service was friendly, although a tad slow during the dinner rush. Overall, Golden Curry is a solid option for tasty Indian cuisine in Ilford. I'd definitely come back to try more of their curries!

Food was hot but the bread was cold. Bland and lacked flavour.

Curry was lovely but both breads were thick hard dough and very wet, also so very burnt. Would buy curry from here but never the bread

Food delivered to the wrong house in the wrong street. Luckily the recipient called me and I went to pick it up.

Always happy to visit Golden Curry. The food is good. It was disappointing that they did not have any prawns for the king prawn Jalfrezi, but other than that, we were very happy with our dishes. Nice freshly cooked nans are excellent.

My go to place for a good curry! The staff are so friendly and helpful, they always want to make sure customer is happy. I really enjoy their food especially the chicken tikka biryani and butter chicken. The garlic naan is spot on too. Also recommend the spicy potato mushroom dish the chef special, never had something like this it’s delicious 10/10. Try the tandoori chops also. Overall a great place great service and very good value for money

As always, food is plentiful and tasty. However, this time there was an error made with my order, the chicken dish was not chicken but lamb and it was tough as old boots. Spoilt my meal unfortunately.

First time at this long-established restaurant, following a recommendation. Food was superb. Five Course Meal on Wednesdays represents terrific value (though they're dishes rather than courses). You can get your standard Indian dishes, but there's also a large selection of Chef's Specials to choose from too. Looking forward to working my way through the menu! Deliveries also available.

Delicious food was delivered earlier than estimated. Really grateful, thrilled with food. Prawn bhuna and naan divine.

Food was very good, as usual. However, once again one of the items ordered and paid for (Onion Bhaji), was not included in the delivery. Annoying!

We were regulars, to be honest the food tastes good but for the price the amount of chicken in a chicken korma has been laughable at times. I understand costs have gone up but for £13 for just 1 Korma without even rice. Its sad but don’t think we’ll be ordering again. I understand if we are eating in the restaurant as you are paying for the experience but for take away it seems far too expensive. There are so many places to choose from now. Maybe rethink your loyalty strategy.

I had 2 deliveries with then and they were so good, this time, the price has gone from £9.90 to 12.90 for a curry and they made the portions size smaller, I'm not sure if I will order from them again due to portion size being smaller and then the price going up so much

don’t dine with them! Their food was undercooked and expired the person I explained this too were so rude and very hesitant to sort the issue. They most likely pay people to write their reviews. AVOID!!

We have been coming to the golden curry over 15 years and it's always amazing food. The staff are excellent and always make us feel welcome. If you're looking for a great place to eat this is the best curry house around. We love this place ❤️

Food nice but cold. As arrived 45 minutes late. Which is a shame as half term treat for my kids. So quite sad as I've been going to this restaurant since I was 10😣

Restaurant good quality is so disgusting. In mix grilled, chicken and lamb tikka is undercooked and full of colour(red)coating. Which is cancerous substances. All meats are preserved for long lasting. Tandoori chicken is Ohk. No favours, no taste and undercooked. I threw in bin. Where it’s belong.

Everything was great except I was given meat instead of vegetable samosas which no one liked.

Very tasty. Nice Niramish. Had 3 vegetable sides plus lemon rice - daal also good. Prefer paneer fried off first in motor paneer though do deducted a star.

My partner and I have eaten some lovely meals there. We hadn't been there for 18 months. What a shock we had--The food was lousy! There must have been a change of staff in the kitchen! The standard has dropped so badly sadly.

The Prawn Jalfrezi was so hot and spicy it was more of a vindaloo which I didn’t want. Not a enjoyable experience. Left our mouths on fire all we could taste was chilli powder and nothing else.

Chicken balti palak, tarka dall, garlic rice and tandoori lamb chops all great. No complaints here as the food and service are always fantastic.

I have been a customer of the Golden Curry since my teens (I’m now in my sixties) and they have never disappointed.

Mattar paneer had hardly any peas, paneer in big unfried cubes - mostly a tomato based sauce. Niramish was lovely though.

I ordered four garlic mushroom potato starter it's my favourite meal i have no complaints with golden curry their food is exceptionally delicious

Ordered Rogan curry, the chicken was hard and very dry, the source was very bland, onion bhaji soaked in oil. Won't be using golden curry again

Its small but AMAZING! The hospitality offered from all the staff is second to none the food is very good they cater for all tastes and the Elvis tribute act Sal is brilliant I've had many a great evening here with or without entertainment the staff work very hard to please everyone!

We have always enjoyed eating in and take out from Golden Curry so asked them to cater for our 40th wedding anniversary party. They were really helpful, from deciding the menu to delivering the food. Everyone of our 80 or so guests absolutely loved the food, and went back for more! Everything was fresh, hot, perfectly cooked and delicious, we couldn't have asked for more.

I am very disappointed at the restaurant as they never gave me any tissue or spoon or fork to eat with. Was very inconsiderate to be honest as i just moved in to a property and i dont have cutlery thats why i ordered online to make my life easier.

Order was 30mins late, thankfully the food made up for it more than enough. Outstanding flavours which made the experience very enjoyable. From the curry’s, starters and all the sides. Flavours were lovely.

one of the worst restaurant In east London. Food items are not fresh and charges at peak. Never ever visit.

The service received from the delivery driver was excellent, he referred to me by name, and not as other drivers from other restaurants have by grunting. The temperature of the food was lovely and hot. The chicken was tender and tasty, with an ample amount of coconut. The rice and naan bread was perfect. I will be ordering from this restaurant again and telling my family and friends to use them too. Fantastic place. Well done to all the staff.

Excellent portions and arrived hot

We ordered 2 curries one lamb one chicken the chicken was very tough but there was plenty of it however the main reason for our dissatisfaction is that the lamb curry had only 4 small pieces of meat and considering the price we paid this was totally in acceptable and not a fair exchange in value for money we have used this restaurant many times without complaint so this lead to our disappointment regards

We have been regular customers of the Golden Curry for many years and we have never been disappointed! Both their food and friendly service is ALWAYS excellent, whether we are eating in the restaurant or ordering a Just Eat delivery!!! Last week we both ate in the restaurant and also ordered a Just Eat delivery and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal on both occasions! We highly recommend!!!!

I really love this place. The food is very good quality. Unfortunately i ordered meat samosa but received vegetable ones. But apart from that the food is always lovely. It would be nice to get some free popadoms with an order

More like golden piss.. Keema nan hardly any meat in it and charging so much! Your chicken curry is old curry from fridge then you put in pan to warm up, I can smell the chicken and tell its not been cooked fresh, lamb biryani is tasteless,

Food was very hot and tasty but there is a but, the prices are very high, after spending £26 there wasn't any onion salad or poppadoms, just a very small bag of lettuce, Alice of tomato and lemon

The service was good and the food was hot when it arrived. Unfortunately I didn’t really enjoy the vindaloo as it didn’t really taste like a vindaloo curry and I asked for the curry to be spicy but it wasn’t really. The curry tasted okay as I’ve tasted better vindaloo curries.

Disappointed there were only 6 pieces of chicken in the jalfrezi & loads of onions. The container wasn't even half full. Portion size is getting more & more disappointing

I've ordered many times from this restaurant. Always been impressed. For some reason, the app has lost my previous orders and so I wasn't able to reorder. I made a new order and the portions were very small. The Korma had only five little chunks of chicken and loads of sauce. My other dish didn't reach the halfway mark in the container. The nans I ordered were delicious, as was the rice - well done.
