Vietnamese Street Kitchen in Birmingham

First time trying this place & I can honestly say I'll be back again! The flavours are amazing & the food is fresh. Also the staff are very lovely & attentive. Would definitely recommend eating here!

Nice place. The food was delicious — my soup was full of flavours, lots of meat, and fresh ingredients. And the service? It made me feel like home. Especially the waitress Eva, who was really helpful in explaining the choices and engaging in small talk with a smile and good energy. Well-spent money! And a thumbs up for Eva! 👍

Excellent tasty food and quick service. Lovely location. Enjoyed our visit very much. Only negative (and not just here for this) is the ‘automatic’ 10% service charge which was added. Why do restaurants do this now? Shouldn’t customers decide if they ‘tip’?

Food was excellent, but the staff needed to spend more time dealing with customers than standing around chatting and on their phones.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night out at the Vietnamese Street Kitchen while attending an event in Birmigham. The food was delicious with lots of options and the staff were very helpful. The atmosphere was really good too. Will definitely be returning if we've business in Birmingham again

Food was late cold burnt dry chicken. Cutlery was just slapped on the plate of food. Money wasted.

Nice food. Good place, a little expensive, but it is in the city center, so that price range is normal. The only thing, that is really annoying is that too many restaurants try to make the tip seem mandatory; the receipt does not say that it is voluntary anywhere. It's okay that you suggest it on the bill, but don't try to cheat tourists. And also, it is illegal.

We had a wonderful experience at Vietnamese Street Kitchen today! The food was absolutely delicious—full of flavour and beautifully presented. A special shoutout to Eva, whose service was outstanding. She went above and beyond to accommodate us and making us feel truly welcome. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

i've been here twice, and enjoyed it both times. the staff are attentive and the food and drinks are excellent. they are also very good with allergens, i have a nut allergy so this is reassuring!

The food is okay however the description of some dishes is misleading in terms of what you get. The meals are over priced. The service was not good at all. We were hungry so we just ate and left but nothing special here. We had to ask for a glass of water 3 times before they brought some over. It’s good that they cater for kids in terms of a colouring/activity sheet and pencils.

The Vietnamese rolls is the only Vietnamese that we eat, I order roast pork but was the Chinese pink one and my wife a vegan curry that tastes a bit like sand (probably they didn't dissolved properly). Go to another place.

One of my first times coming to Birmingham, and honestly, best experience there yet!! They have a large variety of things for kids ( non spicy) such as their chicken with noodles and some hot dishes for the adults. The service is great and on of our phones was dying and they offered to give us a phone charger at the resteraunt.

A very nice place with a nice view. Good cuisine with very friendly service. The food was nicely presented and, above all, tasty. I would only stick to slightly small portions. Overall, I recommend it

Mixed review. There was a very kind waiter, but some of the staff, didn't know what they were doing. We're already at the table and we have to go get someone just for the menu. They even forgot to give us the kids menu. They were friendly enough, just wasn't attentie. Food isnt bad but nothing special. Best thing is the atmosphere.

Came in and sat out side in the sun as per usual for lovely weather, ordered 2 mango daiquiris and two pau buns one with pork belly and one with chicken both were somewhat warm and not hot and the server who brought our food didn’t tell us which was which and just left us to it, thanks to us we have common sense and know what’s what . The dough however was not dry and had a great texture so I’ll give you that. The cocktails had bits of ice in them. If they were double strained this wouldn’t have been an issue and I think for the price of £30 for the total, the buns were quite small to. However I would come again for lunch just thought I’d leave some room to improve.

Lunch of Pho and mango salad. Resturant was quiet and hot from the sunshine coming through the windows. Enjoyed the food and camden larger.

I tried the grilled chicken with jasmine rice. Not much to our expectations. I don’t feel the taste is authentic and the chicken is dry.

Excellent!! Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. My eldest daughters choice as she loves this cuisine. Great service from the moment we arrived. Loved the draught beer, BIA Vietnam. We ordered: A kids meal of chicken strips, bun noodles and a drink. Great value for this. Prawn crackers. 1 x original spare ribs. 1 x sesame chicken wings. 1 x fried chicken bao bun. 1 x salt and chilli chicken big bowl. 1 x fried vegetable dumpling. 1 x crispy chicken strips. 1 x chicken spring rolls. Enjoyed all of the food. Good value for the amount of food and drink that we ordered. Would definitely return. 👍

We had a delightful Vietnamese coffee and a Strawberry and mint lemonade. The traditional spring rolls and bao buns were amazing unfortunately the salads had coriander in them so while refreshing they did taste of soap. Dessert let it down with the brownie being burnt but great ice cream. Would go again but avoiding the brownie and salad next time.

2nd visit. First one was better. Food was delicious first time but sadly the second had just dropped a little. Still very nice though. The theme is nice and staff are cool. Waitress on 2nd visit was little cold and not very happy but maybe it was just a bad day. I still recommend this place. Happy to try this place again.

Visited 2x on Wednesday 19th Feb 2025. On my first visit I went shortly after 14:00 and it was relatively quiet with maybe 10 other guests. Initially I had to change my chair as it had dry spillage on it. Ordered the "Triple Roast" which came within 15 mins but I thought great as I was quite hungry. This was slightly above warm. The taste was disappointing. Both in appearance and taste seemed as though it was cooked maybe the day before. The meat lacked taste and the egg fried rice was dry. Hugely lacking in taste I also ordered the hot Vietnamese Coffee which was nice. Together this was just over £27 As a work colleague wanted to eat there for dinner, as apparently the restaurant had been closed for a while and it was on their list I reluctantly went back but thought I'd order something different and also felt they had a good menu as well as being very different to the other restaurants in the building. On this occasion it was just after 20:00 and very busy. The 4 cocktails we ordered we decent. I ordered the following Bao Bun - Roast Pork Spare Ribs - Hot Kick Salt and Chilli Crispy Prawns Chilli, Salt & Pepper Chips The ribs tasted nice, lovely sauce although these were not spicy but that's down to personal taste. The rest of the order all seemed thrown together, lack of seasoning and effort. £89 spent on this occasion. It's a real shame as I'll be staying within the Resorts World for work on a monthly basis and this restaurant with the type of food I feel is perfect for me. I'm unsure if this is within the normal range of quality or the chef was having a bad day but I doubt I'll be returning. I'd like to give a little shout out to the young (light in complexion) lady who served us as she was full of energy, had great suggestions and was just lovely.

This place is OK… nothing massively to shout about. We got 4 small plates each to share across the table - some were pretty overpriced for the price quality of the food. The cocktails were nice. I wouldn’t rush to visit again

I had an 8:30 PM booking on Valentine’s Day and arrived at 8:20 PM. Our order was placed by 8:30, yet we didn’t receive our food until 9:20 PM, nearly an hour later. When it finally arrived, it was cold, tasteless, and lukewarm at best. What made this even more concerning was that customers who arrived after us, specifically white patrons, received their meals much faster. Some even managed to dine, pay, and leave before we were served despite placing large orders. When we raised concerns about the wait and the quality of the food, our server responded with an unprofessional attitude rather than an apology or an attempt to resolve the issue. The stark difference in service was unacceptable, and the experience overall was extremely disappointing. No customer should feel like they are being treated unfairly based on race. I expected much better from this establishment, and I hope they take serious steps to address these concerns.

Didn't plan to go there but now I don't regret it even a bit. Service and food was great. We've had 3 different dishes and flavours were amazing. We've been surprised by how good each sauce was. Seasonings , look of food, top class.

Disappointed, food was dry, fatty and cold. Mains not really as described, spare ribs extremely fatty, paid extra for egg fried which was cold. Chipped Crockery. Cheesecake was recommended as "owner's wife makes it", so ordered it, then told "not in stock'! Then later told "it's back in stock" 💁🏻‍♀️ 135 quid (2 + 1 child) for a 1h poor experience. Sorry but won't return.

We came during Lunar New Year and it was a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were fantastic and very attentive. The food was delicious. We all had a fantastic time and will be coming back again.

Terrible experience - Food not served for over 45 mins as online orders were being prioritised and they expected people in the restaurant to just wait it out. The staff were reminded few times of the waiting times as I had a kid with me but no attention was paid. Low quality disgusting food, kids apple juice was watered down so much that it just tasted like water, crispy chicken was rubbery and chewy. On top of that, they charged service charge which they didn't agree to remove, despite the pathetic food and service!

Visited here with my daughter she been here before recommended it the food was lovely an fresh very tasty an we had desserts best cheesecake I ever had the decor is so pretty it’s a nice atmosphere I definitely be eating there again thank you

This place is a real gem for central brum. Our food was delicious and generous portions. It was all good quality and well presented. Cocktails are 2 for £15 and they were good! Surroundings are really pretty too. It isn’t street food prices but a great place to eat before the theatre.

FOOD POISONING! I had severe food poisoning from eating here. After reading these reviews, it is clear that lots of other people have had food poisoning too. I would avoid at all costs.

Found this restaurant when we just had one hour for our bus, just ordered chicken dumplings and stir fried noodles. The woman who was waiting on us was very sweet and the food was amazing. They were spicy as requested and the dumplings were crispy on the outside.

Me and my friend came here while looking for somewhere to eat in Birmingham City Centre. We arrived and were seated quickly. The atmosphere is very nice. It's a clean and cosy restaurant with plenty of space if you get there when it's not so busy. For the starter me and my friend both ordered the Vietnamese calamari which came with a dipping sauce. The calamari was nice and crunchy and the sauce was full of flavour. For the main we both ordered the bin cha ha noi which was noodles with pork, king prawn meatballs and a spring roll. The portions were quite generous and the food was nice. We also got a Christmas themed cocktail each. Overall we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. The only things I would critique are the prices - £48 each, which for "street food" is a bit steep and the staff didn't ask us if we had enjoyed our food which is usually just common courtesy at a restaurant. Price wise I would probably try somewhere new next time.

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional decor that set the perfect tone. We were welcomed by a pregnant lady who had amazing hospitality and customer service made sure we were satisfied throughout the whole time very inviting and kind would go back just for her!!! The food was simply outstanding—every dish was a masterpiece. The pho was rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of spices and a broth that felt like a comforting hug in a bowl. The fresh spring rolls were delicate and refreshing, and the banh xeo (crispy pancake) was cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and happy to explain dishes to those unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. They even recommended a few off-menu specialties that were divine. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Vietnamese food. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant will not disappoint. I can’t wait to come

I cannot believe they can’t deliver to streetly from town! Deliveroo won’t come this far! But worse still they will not accept an order over the phone for pick up even though we offered to pay for it whilst placing order. Have had some good meals in the restaurant but unfortunately a couple of times they have put things in that we specifically said had a severe allergy too!! Luckily we spotted it before consuming! Such a shame because when they got it right the food was good!

Absolutely loved the place. Food was amazing and staff were excellent. I had Lemon grass Chilli Chicken with noodles which was probably the best I've ever had. My wife had the Chicken wings with chunky chips and loved them. It was an excellent experience all round and special mention to Faye who was polite and welcoming while we were there. Will definitely go again.

It is a whole restaurant, but they are not using it all! We had to sit down close to the upstairs bar, as they were not using the main restaurant sitting! It was a bit tight! Food is always beautiful 😍 Staff is always helpful too!!!

Bought recently for a midweek treat. Food was hot on delivery and tasted wonderful. It was just what I needed. Highly recommend.

I visited this evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I tried the lemongrass beef pho, dumplings, and loaded chips from the halal menu, everything was perfect! I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon.

Pho is just warm. but the “noodles” is quite nice! summer roll with hoisin sauce taste abit weird.

I ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food was very very good. I went for a selection of Bao buns and dumplings. The pork belly and crispy chicken also looked lovely. Friendly staff and although it was very quiet when I was there it was a nice atmosphere. 100% recommend you check this place out.

Went in on a Monday for dinner time and the food was absolutely amazing! One of the best Vietnamese restaurants I’ve tried. Highly recommend the Crispy pork belly with egg fried rice! It’s super crunchy and flavorful when dipped in the sauce. The chicken wings were cooked well and very flavorful. Their homemade lemonades were also flavorful and amazing. A must-try place if you’re visiting Birmingham!

Got the mushroom and tofu with stir fried noodles. Probably one of the better Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. Was full of flavour and would recommend it

Good food place, but food hygiene rating is 1...don't think I will go back again. During the lockdown, this was my favourite Vietnamese place in Birmingham, and they had a better good hygiene rating back then. I had the beef curry with egg fried rice and watermelon/lychee mocktail. The beef curry would probably be better with the jasmine rice as it is quite a wet dish. It overpowered the egg fried rice, so it was marked down. The mocktail is too sweet for me. I had to dilute it with some water. Overall good service, good food, but the low food hygiene rating really worries me

The food is delicious but arrived 45 minutes late

First time I came here and the first day I've tried Vietnamese food too. Absolutely lovely food. Very fresh tasting, lots of nice flavours too. Drinks were nice too and fair price for it all. Service was great, place was clean and decor was very cool too. Hope to come back and try some more soon and recommend this to others.

AVOID AT ALL COST if you value your health!! My daughter got food poisoned over the weekend and I’ve never seen anyone that ill!! After couple of days of heavy vomiting and diarrhoea we ended up at the doctors as it just did not stop!! Also SEVERAL girls who were with her at the meal got the same problem! They haven’t returned to school yet since the weekend as they’re that drained!!

It was great to find a nice restaurant like this open before 5 because we had to travel and getting sat at 4pm was fantastic! Convenient parking meant it was a 5 minutes walk from the carpark to the restaurant which was even better because we were starving. It was quite empty when we arrived and they sat us straight away. The atmosphere was so nice, but I've dropped a star because there was a heavy smell in the air that was reminiscent of incense. It might have been the candles burning on every table, but with zero airflow it was massively overpowering. BUT everywhere was so clean and tidy, the decor is wonderful, the toilets were clean and they had a disability toilet downstairs. The plates and chopsticks and little hand towels were so cute. I loved the effort they put into it all. The servers were attentive and so polite. Really high level of hospitality and they checked in on us throughout. Some of the best service I've had in a restaurant before. They cater to gluten free with their own gf menu, which was fantastic! There weren't a great deal to choose from but honestly I think the variety was still really good. I chose the spring rolls which were crunchy and hot, and the special pho which looked amazing when it came out. Unfortunately it was jam packed with coriander which was very over powering, but that's more a personal preference and it was really fresh and crunchy. It was also quite under seasoned. I had to add some salt to the broth to bring out the flavours. There were also a lot of small chicken bones in it. Small enough to swallow but it was still a little off putting. My partner had the slow cooked lemongrass beef that was slathered in ginger. Hes Filipino and even he said it blew his head off. But it was super tender and came with fresh and crunchy salad, so it wasn't a heavy dish. For the price I'd have expected it to be a little better in flavour and a greater portion size. Especially with the starter as 3 tiny spring rolls shouldn't cost £7.50 But it was still an exciting experience after a long and tiring day!

I was sat under the staircase in the Birmingham new street branch. Food was good, which is why I walked in. Not sure how it compares price wise to other Vietnamese food outlets. I had a hard time understanding the choice of decor (a larger than life size printout of an old broken door with some dirty Chinese signs to accompany) Polite service, although it took several attempts to get the waiters attention once I was ready to pay the bill and leave. They Didn't look too busy, but just wondering into space instead of attending to those present.

The place is great, sitting outside in a sunny day is really nice. The food is good, but not the best. Somethings I found a little unflavored and dishes took a long time to come! Like 40 minutes more or less, on a Saturday.

Beautiful decor, staff fast and attentive, food was incredible! Had the Homemade Curry 🌶️🌶️ with Lemongrass Chili Chicken & Jasmine Rice, slightly spicy, highly recommend!

Absolutely top class! Really really enjoyed all of it. A very cool looking place and relaxed atmosphere. The freshness and quality of the food is impeccable, We opted for a few small plates to try whilst looking at the menu. The cocktails were brilliant and the non alcoholic drinks were so good, I would recommend the ice tea and fresh lemonade. The king prawn skewers and hot sweetie wings were my favourites along with the lemongrass big bowl. The children’s menu options are also spot on, I would only say the option of some of the adults bowls in a smaller size would be great as my child enjoyed mine. All the food looked a smelt amazing but the small plates are worth going back for alone. Thank you Tammy and Ruby for looking after me and my family! Service was wonderful.

Food was horrible. Old chicken wings with plenty hair on top . The portions sizes for chicken and king prawn really small. I order plin wings they come spicy.

The taste of noodle with soup was not good enough, sticky floor and the prices are bit high if compare with the taste. However, the service was quite good.
