I love this quirky wee place. Had lunch with my son here today. We both had pho, which was delicious. The drip coffee was strong and sweet and the owner is so warm and welcoming. We’ll be back soon to try the banh mi. If you’re around haymarket, please don’t be put off by the roadworks as you can’t hear them from inside the cafe.

I visited the cafe whilst on a business trip and I am already planning to go back! I had the shrimp pho which was was like a warm hug in a bowl. Great portion size and lots of prawns. The Vietnamese drip coffee with sweetened milk was something I’d read about but not tasted before - oh my goodness, it was delicious! The owner and server were lovely and friendly. They advised I try the summer rolls next time which I plan on doing! I also picked up a slice of carrot cake and a brownie to go as they just looked irresistible! A real joy to visit and I can’t wait to go back!

This soup cures any nasal cold, or any throat cough. This soup must have been distilled from the gods themselves. This soup is the best soup I have ever had. Shreds of chicken breast steeped in a broth, sitting in a blanket of noodles, sprinkled with spring onion and chives. Perfection

We came here for lunch and shared a bowl of pho between us which was plenty for a light lunch. We would have also had some summer rolls but they only had tofu ones left, instead we had some ice cream after our pho, coconut ice cream and honeydew ice cream. Delicious on a hot day! For drinks we had drip coffee and lotus tea. The drip coffee was lovely and the lotus tea was ok, I'm a bit of a tea aficionado so I actually have some lotus tea at home (bought from a teahouse in Korea), my tea at home contains on the leaves but this tea also contained the stems so it was bit more fragrant, I find lotus tea to taste like marshmallows haha, the downside to the tea was it over brewed really quickly so I could only drink 1 of 2 cups which is a shame as lotus tea has many health benefits. The beef pho was phenomenal, you could taste it before even putting it in your mouth, that's how fragrant and delicious the broth was! Really nice to try real authentic pho as previously I've only had instant pho (even instant pho served to me from a restaurant) so knowing how disappointing that is I wanted to try the real thing! Really delicious, I even drank most of the broth haha. For sure we will be back on our next trip to Edinburgh!

To begin with, the first time I went to Vietnam House Art Gallery and Cafe, was to get a massage on my back and shoulders; it did not happen, but as I am curious about world food, I returned a couple to eat. The menu does not have a great selection of foods, but dont let yourself be fooled, here you will eat food made with warm and heart. Vietname food is something different, delicate, fresh, and much more of a healthy option in Edinburgh than chinese, per example. I have tried sticky rice on lotus leaf, pork baguette and vietnam drip coffee - amazing! I got to return a couple of time more to try the rest of the menu! Elusive authentic Vietnamese food is here. Forget microwave reheated hard spring rolls which began life some days earlier in a Basingstoke factory. Here you can see staff in the kitchen making soft, fresh Vietnamese spring rolls with prawns and fresh mint. The Pho soup which is a meal in itself, tastes so good partly because the matriarchal chef cooks chicken bones for hours to extract maximum flavour for the stock.

We went there as could not find a open place for something fast , so we were not sure about the food we just asked for one dish the sticky rice, it was very good. and we order something else and it was also very good. So I'm really really surprised about their food as I have never heard about them, it is a secret in Edinburgh you must try

This place is a god send! It sometimes get missed, however next time anyone is in haymarket, take a short walk from the station to this small and cute place! The first time we came here, we had great Vietnamese salad and rice and the lotus tea is very nice. The owner is very sweet and showed us the paintings and it nice and quiet. 2nd time we had a massage here and it was very competitively priced and relaxing. Overall in a month, we have been here 5 times as we feel very welcome. Every 4 weeks there is an exhibition which has local artists and Vietnamese art ...which also gives free wine and cheese. It's a shame we are leaving Edinburgh...wish we found this place sooner

Well I was passing by at street and took a look at vitrine and see the paints and the massage advertisement. I just get in and was very welcome by the a lady. She was so kind and nice. I just booked a massage (body) and took a Vietnamese coffee that was excellent. The massage was really relaxing, I would come back someday when visit Edinburgh again. About the arts, I think is quite expensive but they are very nice.

My husband and I came across this gallery on a walk around Haymarket in Edinburgh and we were enticed inside by the wonderful colourful artwork and crafts on display in the window. What we discovered was a very warm and welcoming gallery with a range of work from Vietnamese artists but also art from Scotland and other countries. Do not be put off by the small size of the gallery as there is plenty to look at and I was very happy to see that prices for work was very good and that you could pick up lots for £10-30 and paintings were in a great price range too with some of the larger work for £120-£200+. The hosts in the gallery were extremely welcoming and my husband fell in love with the Vietnamese coffee that was on sale here. Comfy sofas, delicious drinks and friendly chat while being surrounded by stunning artwork meant we stayed for longer than we thought we would and we were never under huge pressure to buy buy buy which meant I could have a look around and ask about work without having to commit straight away to buying. I highly recommend a visit to this gallery which is just across from Haymarket Train Station and was a refreshing change from the larger galleries we tended to visit. I left with a couple of purchases but I know I will be back upon my next visit to see what new work is on display.
