Great cocktails, great service and diverse selection of drinks which keeps things interesting. Definitely a place to visit if you are into your cocktails. Fairly reasonabley priced for what you get too. It loses one star because the soundtrack is always hip hop. But that is a purely personal opinion. Other people might love it more for this reason.

Bramble did not live up to its hype for me. The cellar space combined with trying to be an upscale bar and the rap music (which is quite good but so out of place) don't mesh well together. Pitch dark inside as well. The biggest letdown was the service, having visited a number of Europe's top cocktail bars, we came in for the experience and to learn about their mixing philosophy. The staff was disinterested and didn't bother talking us through our drinks. The drinks themselves were average, not well balanced although there's potential.

This is my kind of place. It's small, it's unpretentious from the outside, it doesn't call itself a speakeasy despite the understated exterior and moody interior, it's not packed full of Instagram influencer wannabes, the staff is super, and the drinks are solid. I did feel a moment of cringe when I saw the giant clear iceblock, having not so great experiences with the obnoxious pretension of similar bars using those, but that hipster-aversion was quickly allayed. The staff was welcoming and cool. (Cool cool, not cold-shoulderish.) Laid back. I could tell it was the type of vibe I prefer. The space is intimate, and the backbar full. We took a table overlooking the bar and got the full show. Music wasn't too loud or in your face, just melodic ambient beats. And I do appreciate their attention to preventing flash photography as it's a small, dim venue and blinding flash is at best annoying, and at worst harmful. The cocktails are not showy. And that's fine with me. Not all cocktails need fancy garnishes and glassware to shine. After all, it's about flavour more than gimmicky presentation. I'm going to be honest that I don't actually remember the first cocktail I ordered as it was a few months back, but at the time I was very impressed by it. I then ordered the Affinity which is a prebatch in a bottle. I always find that a bit like cheating, but I also know people like the novelty of pouting their own drink at their table. I didn't like it as much as the others, but it was still a solidly good drink. So between smooth, well-balanced and crafted drinks, the chill ambience, and the lovely staff, it was definitely a 5-star sort of experience.

Stood at the bar, was told to go round the "front" for service, managed to squeeze in at the front only to watch the same member of staff serve 4 people from where I had originally stood without asking them to move! Is it cos I was not a younger woman, but over the age of 30? Rude and unwelcoming. Unless you plan on auditioning for love island next season I suggest you go elsewhere.

Someone took my drink away when I was halfway through it. Asked for another one and got charged for both at the end of the night

Bramble is an absolute gem! My friends and I instantly vibed with the DJ’s playlist—it set the perfect tone for the night. Of course, the cocktails stole the show. First up was the Copita, bursting with ginger flavor and easily a 10/10 for me. My friend convinced me to try the Kimchi Tai, and though I was skeptical, the kimchi twist worked surprisingly well—solid 8/10. Finally, the Bramble: a stunning mix of gin, lemon, and blackberry, perfectly balanced and another 10/10. If you're looking for a fun spot to unwind with friends and enjoy great drinks, Bramble is where it's at!

How can somewhere so unassuming, so gently low key, feel like the centre of the universe when you're inside? Sam's 'Penicillin' cocktail has ingredients that will transport your senses to a far away place. There is genuinely nowhere like Bramble, Friday evening or any other time. Don't let another year go by without experiencing this.

Lovely drinks, staff and venue. But the music was quite bad and very loud so we only ended up staying for one.

Stopped by after an earlier dinner in the New Town. Service was attentive and the drinks were ok. Not exactly chap, but that's OK. I'm also not sure how much alcohol was in them, but not much.

Just had a lovely birthday meal at Under the table with a group of family and decided to end the night with a cocktail at Bramble. But the bouncer decided to spoil the whole evening by refusing us entry for no reason at all. If he had said the place was full or had given any reason we may have walked away disappointed but he just said not tonight. Then when we asked him for an explanation he became obtuse and just asked us to leave. We have visited Bramble most weekends and would consider ourselves regulars but we will never darken there door again as we are apparently unwelcome. Shame on you for turning away good locals who you should consider valued customers.

As a New Yorker this is the best bar in Edinburgh. Every year I come to Edinburgh for my summer getaway and I come here every time. The staff is great. Drinks are amazing. It's a true cocktail bar where ppl are knowledgeable about how to make drinks and are willing to experiment without sacrificing taste. I'll give this place 5 out of 5 every time. Cheers to the team

Amazing cocktails and lovely staff as always

I made a quick little visit to Bramble while in Edinburgh for a couple days and I highly recommend it. I had an Amica Nova which was delicious. Great little spot with cosy little corners and a great energy all round. Lovely service too. Thank you!

Best cocktail bar in the city. Excellent cocktails, incredible staff and a cozy atmosphere that wasn’t too loud or overly crowded at the time. We ordered off the menu the first round and asked for the bartender’s choice the second round, both of which were fantastic. Highly recommend!

Bramble is a fantastic night out. I have been before, but after a night getting to know both Sam and Matt, my expectations were succeeded. The drinks and atmosphere were 5 out of 5, and both of the boys made it a birthday to remember! If you're reading this, thanks again, boys!

This cocktail is the best kept secret in Edinburgh! The cocktail are absolutely first class and the staff are really friendly and attentive. I particularly liked the fact that this bar is table and bar service with lots of small intimate spaces to sit as a couple or with a grown of friends. The music is contemporary but not too loud, so you can actually have a conversation. Also, being hard to find, this bar tends to only be frequented by locals not tourists which is refreshing for a city so busy with tourists. We can’t wait to go back - five stars.

Cozy atmosphere, good music and very good cocktails. They vary between ~9-13£ and are very delicious! Big recommendation and we will definitely come back!

Great cocktail selection, the staff was willing to conjure up some good Chartreuse Vert cocktails and the DJ for the night had a great '90s hip-hop set.

Loved this bar! Hidden away it's easy to miss but once you get in, it's lively and buzzing. It has a great atmosphere and the service is awesome, all staff are highly knowledgeable about the drinks on offer. Super creative drinks, great atmosphere and awesome service. Prices aren't cheap, but for a cocktail bar they're pretty good in my opinion. Would reccomend!

Secret cocktail bar. From the outside you can't see that it is a drinking establishment. It is very curious. Great variety of cocktails, although somewhat expensive. But to see a place like this it is worth it. There were tables and sofas to sit on and although there was music you could talk perfectly.

My favourite Edinburgh cocktail bar, great recipes using unusual ingredients. Tucked away off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. Comfy place to while away an hour or two on a cold night. Friendly service, great drinks.

I absolutely loved this bar when I visited Edinburgh. The music selection was brilliant and the spirit knowledge the staff had was really impressive! My favourite spirit is usually Ron Zacapa, after 2 visits I seemed to have polished off the lot so they were able to recommend me something very similar. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere and I'll definitely be back...

My wife and son and I came to celebrate her graduation from the University and were treated to finest evenings of sipping, chatting in what seemed like a catacombs but was an artful series of rooms destined to be our favorite of all cocktailing. Emma made our first drinks, each a nuanced series of handpicked experience. Sam continued our adventures with inspired cocktails based on our favorite flavors. Sam generously sent us on our way with recommendations to round our out Tor of the town. Do not miss this inspired place!

We heard about this wee gem from friends so had to try it out when we came to the city. Defo worth a visit if you like small low-key and intimate places. The chill hip hop playing was perfect. Interesting and tasty cocktails on the menu plus all the classics. Will be back for another negroni!

There's a reason Bramble is consistently highly ranked in the world's best cocktail bar listings. Original cocktails skilfully made in a cool, chilled environment at very reasonable prices. The highlight for me though (along with the top class booze) is the staff aren't pretentious unlike some other cocktail bars; they just want to find what you're after and give you a top experience. A must visit if visiting Edinburgh.

Interesting cocktails, nothing we've seen before and taste great. Nice and cozy place, it's at basement level so you can walk past it but there is a sign. Chill music, friendly staff, amazing drinks. If you want to get away to have a relaxing drink, pick here.

We went as two couples and thought that the drinks, although good, were pretty expensive. The Sauvignon Blanc was ordainary and the cocktails over priced.

Very strange experience. Just tried to enter with my partner after watching a comedy show at the fringe and we were told we were not allowed to enter because we seemed too intoxicated by a very abrupt woman on the door. Despite having a couple of drinks at the comedy and being far from “too intoxicated”. We then tried to ask what about our approach gave that impression (out of interest rather than trying to gain entry) and she just said “dunno, just what I thought”. Have never experienced this before and quite a vibe killer! Based on this experience, I’d say avoid - off to find a bar with friendlier, more competent door staff!

Ramble Bar made our group of 3 people feel rubbish (a polite word for the one we would really like to use). One of our party went to the bar (the man) and ordered drinks asking them to be sent to the table (two ladies). The barman sent someone to the table to ask if the two ladies wanted the drinks being ordered. One of the two ladies explained that the gentleman ordering the drinks was her fiancé!!! We asked the barman why he didn’t ask the gentleman why he was ordering drinks for the two ladies. The barman would not listen - he realised his prejudice. If asked the gentleman would have simply said they were ordering drinks for their fiancé and a friend. Everyone of our party of 3 people left Bramble Bar feeling the victim of prejudice.

It is painful to describe our experience at Bramble Bar other than to say the barman was extremely prejudice. We will not be returning.

A very unassuming basement bar. Incredible service and wonderful drinks! Seriously have never received better service at a bar. Drinks run about 10 pounds each. Lovely spot!

We’d been recommended this place by a bartended in London for its hip hop and good cocktails. Lived up to expectation! Particularly enjoyed Carabena with yuzu and chartreuse.

I had several nice cocktails, nice vibe and friendly staffs. They served a nice cocktail quickly. But this place is noisy because there are many groups of friends and music is bit weird. (so I don't recommend this place as a first date place.)
