Vida in Trafford

Went for dinner and it’s super lovely restaurant, great decor and very comfy seating. Staff were very attentive albeit the place was really empty. We’ve been here before and always been happy with our visit. All good tonight except two small issues, wife went to toilet but no roll in any of the cubicles, she asked for toilet paper but was given napkins , not good. I ordered spaghetti carbonara but it was an oil based not cream or egg sauce ??. It wasn’t terrible but not quite wait ordered.

Such a lovely place. Decor and ambience is perfect. Live music playing whilst you can enjoy a varied menu and delicious food. Staff were lovely and really attentive. I will definitely return.

I popped in here on the off chance and it didn’t disappoint… lovely interior, very friendly staff. The menu is Italian but ask for the Persian grill menu as the food is delicious. It was a Thursday night and there’s a pianist there, he played a great selection of tunes, from ballads to Bowie covers. It’s obvious people go there regularly to listen to him. I had a really nice evening.

I just can't express our experience at this restaurant.The food was first class.The atmosphere was amazing the singers fabulous.And the service from the minute we walked in the lovely lady showed us to our table she was so attentive and made our night a real credit to the restaurant .Also the youg gentleman who served us .We will be returning in a couple of weeks with all family and friends for my partners birthday we can't wait .This restaurant is a great find and will recommend to everyone.Thankyou to everyone for making our night special and we will see you soon .

I have been here 2 times recently, both times large parties of 10 to 16 guests. The first time I ordered Rocket Salad with Parmesan followed by Pollo a la Creme. both of these dishes were beautifully presented and I decided on the same food this last visit, It must have been different chefs/cooks because the recent one was so disappointing, the salad was badly dressed to the point that it was dry and the chicken somewhat mushy at the edges with a sauce that was bland and watery and the mushrooms on top were tasteless. It was very busy but that is no excuse for dropping standards set by a previous meal. We were not allowed to go to the bar for our drinks because that would prevent the 10% service being added to them in the final bill. Nobody came to ask how things were for us and the Owner/Manager walked past on many occasions but never thought to acknowledge our party with an hello or anything similar.

We went for the Early Diner offer. As we sat down we were told we could only pay cash. We were told where there was a cash point but it was raining heavily. My friend put her coat back on and got the cash out. As we tried to order we said we wanted 2 courses; main and dessert. We were told we could only have a dessert with the 3 course offer. We said we only wanted ice cream. Again we were told no. We asked to speak to the manager who said the deal doesn’t work the way we wanted, we would have to have 3 courses for a dessert. We again stated that we only wanted ice cream. We said we were disappointed with what had already happened with needing cash. The manager said we were told that as we went in. We said no we were told as we ordered drinks. If we don’t have drinks we would have left. Eventually we were told we could have the ice cream - as though they were doing us a favour! The food was nice. Disappointing and we won’t be returning

Alanya has been rebranded as Piano Bar and restaurant and according to the website is under the same management. Based on my most recent visit after the change, and the amount of people I now see in here when I walk past, it was a good decision to rebrand. Service was friendly as always. They've changed the decor and it's even nicer than it was before, and it was already pretty good. Most of the food was good however I found the bruschetta very salty and the starters that came with bread didn't have a lot of it. Apart from those small things we all really enjoyed ourselves and would come back again.

Second time visiting. Great food, live pianist, friendly manager and staff, nice ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We loved this place when it was Vida, then the ownership changed. When it became Alanya we ate there once and found the menu to be confused. It was too broad, trying to represent all parts of the Med and the food was just average. When it reopened as Piano we thought we should give it a try. We hadn't realised when we booked that Piano was under the same ownership and management team as Alanya, and that did initially curb my expectations a bit. However, the reincarnation as Piano is a significant improvement. The decor is good and the expanded bar area looks great. Just focusing on Italian cuisine seems to have improved the quality of the food. Between us we had starters (variable generosity: the bruschetta was very small, the Insalate Caprese very large), pastas and a pizza and they were all pretty good. We had the early-bird menu, although it wasn't overly clear from the printed menu what is included in the early-bird and what was not. The front of house lady had to explain it to us and it still wasn't very clear. ( I note they have since updated their website and there is now a clear, separate early-bird menu.) If you went outside the early-bird hours the pastas and pizzas would represent pretty good value, the grill items less so. Despite the improvement in the food and the decor, there is still something not quite right that I can't quite put my finger on. Piano is basically in direct competition with Borrello, a couple of doors away. The menus are similar, the prices are similar and the quality of food is pretty comparable. However, when you walk past Borrello it is always busy and Piano invariably isn't. I think the atmosphere at Borrello is just a little warmer and more welcoming. Really hope that Piano works out. If friends selected it for a meal out together we'd certainly go and enjoy the food, but I think if we were choosing, we'd still go two doors away.

We went to Piano for lunch on Sunday. It was super. The food was beautifully fresh, and perfectly seasoned too. The staff were polite and attentive. We will definitely go back.

Visited last night (Saturday) at 4.45pm. we hadn’t booked and they accommodated us no problem. Managed to get the early dine which is amazing value for 3 courses. Great service, decor, food and wine. We have never been to this restaurant before but we will definitely be back.

Amazing NYE. Started off dubious as hadn’t been out on NYE in the evening in recent years and as we were latest reservation I think the team were overwhelmed with the number of customers and a bit on catch up. However our initial reservations soon disappeared. The scallop starter was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour. There was a set menu but as they’d ran out of sirloin steak we were offered ribeye, which was not a disappointment and I’m converted….they were cooked perfectly to order. I managed to stuff in the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream and they kindly put my husband’s in a carton and bag to take away as he was stuffed. We then danced away to see NY in with customers and the Piano team alike. Will definitely be going back. Thank you Piano Team. x

Just got back from a meal at the brand new restaurant in Sale " Piano" . The downstairs Italian Restaurant has just opened. There is an upstairs also that will be opened in the next couple of weeks. For a Starter we had a Garlic Bread with Tomato . it was lovely and crispy and we were told it was done in the their new Pizza Oven. I had fillets of Sea Bass with potatoes which was really really tasty . My wife had Prawns done in a chilli sauce with Chips. Just thought I would let you know. It was just as good if not better than Borrello or Linguine the other main two flagship Italian restaurants in the area. Will be back for their December Festive Menu. What was Alanya is now Piano. Run by same team but with some upgrades. Delicious fresh pasta, amazing gelato. Everyone enjoyed and the service was first class. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Change of name to Piano but still runny by Timmy and his team. Change of menu but srill a great range of choices available. Ribs to start with were fab! For those from the area, just like the old Italian Memory!! Great revamp of the bar and furniture. In the words of Arnie.... We'll be back!!!!

Not impressed, have eaten there before I few years back now and enjoyed it, but not this time. The early diner is inexpensive but the portion sizes were small, without the dessert we would have felt hungry, moussaka wasn't good, Service was good, and friendly, but lacked something maybe it was because it was very quiet.

What a little gem. The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. The chef is great and come out to greet his guests and made time to chat to guests. The food is absolutely beautiful, tasty and authentic. The food is freshly prepared and you can tell it’s all made in the restaurant. It was our first visit here but it definitely won’t be last.

Me and my parents decided to go out for an early dinner and tried a different cuisine in sale. And the food was delicious, we had the early bird offer with a great selection of food for all dietary requirements. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food came quickly and the atmosphere was great. Glad you were open today and we able to try something new. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu and I would recommend to family and friends.

It's really important that we support our local businesses, and if you want to sample some of the best cuisine Sale has to offer, you can't go wrong with Alanya. The restaurant has been here just over two years and once you walk in, you'll realise you've found something special. Elisa, Timy, and staff are always on hand to make you feel welcome. All food here is cooked fresh, with the grilled meat cooked over hot charcoal. Seriously, you can't beat the mixed grill for a tasty variety of middle-eastern inspired meats and salads. Like most restaurants in the area, Alanya offer a early bird menu Mon-Thu 4pm-7.30pm, and Fri/Sat/Sun 12.30-5pm. £10.95 for two courses or £14.50 for three...."cheap as chips" and all cooked fresh, as per the main menu. It shocks me to see 1* reviews of this place....I cannot speculate, but probably people out for a free meal having already enjoyed the early bird menu. Seems to be a trend nowadays....some people are out for what they can get. All I will say is, compare the 4*/5* reviews as a percentage of negative reviews, and you can see that the negative ones are in the absolute minority....the "negative Nellie's" are usually the ones with the loudest voice, unfortunately...instead of listening to them, why don't you come try for yourself....I don't think you will be disappointed.

Came here a few months ago and had a good meal no problems. However we returned on July 19th for evening meal and things have changed for the worse. The waitress was rude and not interested , The food was very poor , sparse and poorly presented . The Lamb Kebab was just a small tray of Donar meat (Cold and tasteless) No Naan bread or sauce or salad as advertised , Simply thin cold tray of wafer thin meat - Not edible. The veg moussaka was not seasoned and consisted of a large lump of aubergine almost raw with a sloppy bowl of tomato sauce with a sprinkle of cheese. We then waited for half an hour and still no dessert arrived even though we asked twice,We gave up and went to the counter to pay and the owner then rushed out with a brown bag containing what was supposed to be Tiramisu pudding (Absolutely no resemblance to a Tiramisu at all , More like a dry Weetabix ) We were then given the wrong bill and the owner tried to charge us for food and drinks we didnt even have ! Never again ! Not sure what has gone wrong with this place but certainly needs to be looked into.

I went with my wife Lesley and had a really nice meal. We are vegetarian. I had a veg kebab and my wife had moussaka. Good value, good food , good service. We will go again

I had the garlic chilli prawns to start and they were excellent.. it all tasted very fresh and tasty. Lovely decor and great ambiance. I would definitely recommend a visit here .. Highly disappointed! I had heard such good things about this restaurant and our experience let it down. Let's start with the positives: From arrival the staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere within the restaurant was good. Everywhere looked really clean too. However, within the first few minutes of sitting down we were asked four times what we would like to drink. I hadn't even taken my coat off. Lets talk food: starters arrived promptly however they lacked seasoning and taste. The hummus was advertised with a pitta however this was a cut up bread roll. Not quite what I was going for. We waited an hour from having our starters to our mains arriving, but the restaurant was busy and it was a Saturday night so can be understood. When the mains arrived as a table of 7 we were all highly disappointed. Majority of us order some sort of kebab which just turned out to be some meat on a plate, half a cherry tomato, half a tortilla wrap and the last of the bagged lettuce on the side. One thing I can say is that the chicken kebab was moist and flavoursome. All the kebabs were ordered with what was advertised as naan bread however this was also a cut up bread roll. For the price of the meal I'd of expected much more, I'd have got more for my money ordering a kebab to takeaway elsewhere.

So my 1st visit to this restaurant is very bitter sweet. I ordered the spicy meatball in tomato starter and it was nothing to shout about. Barely seasoned and small. Tomato sauce was bland but looked OK (thought it'd be better considering the 25 minute wait time. (I'll add that me and my Mrs were the only people in at the time). Then another half an hour wait for my main which was a small peice of seabass with 2 or 3 potatoes, a couple of pieces of cauliflower and 2.5 new potatoes which would be small next to my own 2 veg if you get my meaning. It was OK, swimming in oil but actually tasted quit nice. My Mrs on the other hand received the wrong order (lamb kebab) she had asked for chicken. When got what she actually asked for the chicken was raw inside. It's fair to say that the I don't know if we will return. We'll know more when we find out if the prawn starter doesn't make the Mrs poorly. If the manager reads this then you need to have a quick chat with your chef and head waiter about the food that leaves the kitchen. When you go out for food it needs to better than what can be cooked at home. The unfortunate thing Is that I know I could do better than your chef. What's the bitterest part is that although the waiter did take my better half's food off the bill I did end up spending nearly 30 pounds for a disappointing 2 hours that I'll never get back.

We went to Alanya for the second time yesterday and it was just as good as ever, and we will be back again! We visited late and didn’t realise how late we were until we realised it was 15 minutes after closing. Thank you to the wonderful staff who didn’t rush us or chase us out! We both had starters and mains which were each delicious. The decor is lovely and is suited to romantic meals or nights out with friends/family. The staff are really friendly and efficient but you don’t feel as if they’re hovering. Can’t wait to come back again!

Just returned from a brilliant meal at Alanya for my dad’s birthday. Great selection of dishes, catering for the meat eaters and the vegetarians. The staff were very attentive and even brought out a slice of complimentary birthday cake for my dad. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely Mediterranean restaurant, tasty fresh food, good service and nice atmosphere. Prices are fair. The only slight comment is the waitresses uniform, poor girls have to wear short little blue kilt type skirts, I guess they are kind of traditional but not all the girls...

We had a table booked this weekend. It didn't start well as we waited over 10 minutes for a drink. We nearly left, and only wished we had. The manager is a pleasant person but her family were just finishing eating and she was more interested in introducing her son to customers who were obviously regulars. The rib starter was awful the calamari was fine but the main course came the second we put our knife and fork down. The chef was clapping his hands to attract the manager's attention as she was going from one table to another chatting. Other people were waiting for drinks and food but she was oblivious, it was all too amateur and casual.She went to the hatch and told him not to clap, he said he had to as the food was going cold because she hadn't collected it. Our main pasta meals were put down and we were offered no pepper or parmesan. Mine was awful the meat was meant to be filet steak and it was chewy and tough and tasted strange. The chicken my partner had was overcooked and hard. No one came to see us during the meal to ask how it was. I left mine with the meat around the edge of the bowl. The young waitress just collected the plates and said nothing. The staff were drinking monster energy drink behind the bar from the can. The staff are in desperate need of proper training on how to behave while working in a restaurant. I was ill as soon as I got home.

I had the Italians ribs for a starter and the meat just fell off the bone beautiful sauce! For mains I had the fillet steak medium rare and the chef cooked the steak to perfection! Amazing friendly service. Highly recommend Vida

The chefs need to know how to make a calzone. Without a hard crust. Calzone is a soft folded pizza I h trouble cutting into the thing which was horrible also eating a little of it i was crunching on a shard of glass I thought was a crunchy little bit of pepperoni in the ( calzone ) I pulled a little bit of my tung it was glass and showed the staff. Not a lot happened they took it away no more was said .0 an apology and said that they don’t make their own food on site/ kitchen it’s all bought in so I was reliably informed I coughed up a little bit more of the glass that was stuck in my throat I kept coughing up and found the reason why. Nothing else was said not even the cooks in the kitchen came out .

Beautiful restaurant BUT service was poor and food wasn’t good either unfortunately I couldn’t give my feedback to the waitress as she didn’t even ask me once how my food was. It’s a shame as it has great potential. I might give it another chance as it could be a one off.
