Went here for a few drinks whilst staying at the hotel - to be brutally honest it was the best part of our stay. The staff were very polite and efficient and we were able to use our Village gym membership cards from Blackpool - meaning a pint of Guinness was only £3.50 a pint. We plonked ourselves in front of the big screen and watched the sport on tv. There was a very good atmosphere generated by a few groups of guests - a good time was had by all. Early in the morning it was very quiet at the same venue for breakfast. The choice was varied but who can resist a full English breakfast? A good way to finish what was otherwise an average visit to the hotel.

Originally stayed at the hotel in may and the food was awful so they offered us a complimentary stay. Came back a few months later but didn't eat for dinner just for the breakfast. Arrived at dead on 10:30 (because we were held up by the queue in the pool) and the staff saw us at the door (and even made eye contact) but completely ignored us. We had to go in and approach them ourselves after a couple of minutes. They said we could get what was left but didn't show us to a table or greet us just made us fend for ourselves. We went and sat on one and the waitress just came over and abruptly said 'you can't sit there it's all set up for for dinner' without telling us where we could actually sit or hello or anything.. then the only table we could find had wasn't set up properly.. two people came over and asked which room we were in.. then we left and walked past two members of staff who didn't say thank you or goodbye or anything even though it was dead. The staff were clearly miserable and just taking it out in the customers. Wouldn't eat there ever again just badly run by the looks of it..

The food in here is very nice, we have stayed at Village hotels a number of times and the Victory bar has never failed to produce nice food. The drinks are a little higher priced than in a pub but it is a hotel afterall and is to b expected. It certainly didn't break the bank though. Recommended.

The Sunday Roast,is very popular with local people, therefore it pays to book in advance. There is a very good choice of help yourself, starters. The mains, again are help yourself, except for the 3 choices of meat on offer. Again, the dessert courses, offer a reasonable choice and, yes,it's help yourself. The starters were really good, the main, was quite good, although some of the veggies, looked like they'd been under the lights too long. Nothing wrong with the desserts though.

Paid for two overpriced meals here in April 2016. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. I dread to think what the kitchen is like. I contacted the restaurant directly with feedback. They didn't care and I received no reply, apology, or commitment to improve, therefore I am making my feedback public. The email I sent them is below. Hi, My girlfriend and I have recently moved to the area. We go out with her family for a carvery once a month and thought we'd both try out the carvery at your hotel before inviting the rest of them. We came Sunday 21st at around 4pm. When we arrived we were seated at a messy table covered in crumbs. There was one and a half sets of cutlery and one napkin. It's obvious that the table hadn't been cleaned since the last customers were sat there. I have never been sat at a dirty and unset table in a restaurant before. I looked around the restaurant and every, single, table, was covered in plates, bottles etc. Every single table. It was an absolute mess. The table we'd been given, although filthy and unset, was the best available. The restaurant wasn't busy - there was my girlfriend and I, another couple and a family of around eight for the entire time we were there. It would have taken 2 minutes to clean and set the table before seating is at it. I saw two other tables slowly "cleaned" over the space of 45 minutes or so. Such a half assed job was done that they were still covered in crumbs afterwards. Your hotel looks up-market when you walk in, and the price of the carvery is so expensive, I was expecting to be impressed. I wasn't. I've never seen such a messy, disgusting restaurant in all my life. I dread to think what's going on unseen in the kitchen. Aside from the cleanliness of the restaurant, the utensils for the carvery were shared between dishes and so was not suitable for vegetarians. There was a general lack of options for vegetarians. I thought you should know, as if you continue running your restaurant with these standards I can't see you lasting. Toby Carvery is almost a third of the price, it's clean, has vegetarian options. Why would anyone choose you over them at this moment in time? Thanks, Jon

Whilst this is a Hotel you'll find plenty of locals use it for food/drink and socializing not the cheapest in town but nice food and friendly staff.

We went for Mother's Day lunch and as always it was brilliant! Plenty to choose from on the carvery and well worth the money! The staff were helpful and friendly, will definitely be going again and would recommend it to family and friends!

The surroundings are quite nice, it was warm and pleasant. The menu was reasonable and priced slightly over the norm for the area, but to be expected for a nicer place. The wifi worked well too. All was looking good. Looking for a table, we chose the one that had the least crumbs and pot rings on. Then sat down to find a dirty tissue on the back of the seating area. Cleanliness could be better.Ordered the Gourmet Mexican burger. My wife ordered the blue cheese burger and a kiddies meal for my lad. The meals came quick enough but, the kiddies meal had no beans, this was pointed out, taken away and came back with a small pot of beans that looked as old as me.My burger was a cheese burger with lettuce and tomatoe, it seems the Mexican had run away. This was pointed out, it was taken away and returned with a pot of jalepenos. Why weren't these put on in the first place? Who knows, no explanation, just pointed out too that there were no guacamole. Really should have been pointed out pre order. The main disappointment was that the food was only just like warm, but had been to the kitchen and back already and I feared it wouldn't be any more appetising if I asked them to warm it or even bring another. I'd lost all confidence in the kitchen. On this occasion the kitchen couldn't get the basics right and the front of house whilst polite, can't have been trained at all. So all in all, great build up to a disappointing, overpriced meal.

Not as good as it use to be, menu has changed again, no flat iron steak on the menu, and looks like the locals are not using it as much as in the past. Its now called the pub, which seems it a bit strange as still part of the hotel complex

We stayed at the Village resort in April for 3 nights, so got quite a few "freebies" thrown in, which included 10% off food and drink in the Victory pub ( and also the Verve restaurant)Small but sufficient pub grub menu, offering snacks, club sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, gourmet burgers, traditional meals and puddings. The burgers were very tasty, served in a toasted brioche bun with beautifully crisp salad and hot crispy chips.Club sandwiches also very nice.Drinks a little pricey but they do a Victory red card for use when football matches are on Sky which is a good deal and it brings the locals in.Service very warm and friendly ( it is Yorkshire, after all!) and we were made to feel very welcome.

Ordered food from the bar menu here at the Victory bar within the village hotel. It arrive quicker than expected for a busy Saturday night but 1 thing was missing.....cutlery. We asked our server for some, he went away and come back with the response "we have run out, just trying to find some" by this time we had 7 meals going cold. We suggested to him to get some from the main restaurant a whole 20 yards away but he didn't seem to want to do that. A few more minutes passed, food a little cooler and still no cutlery. I went to the main restaurant and asked for some cutlery which why were only too pleased to supply, problem solved. About 5 more minutes went we by and our server arrived with the missing cutlery. Food was average, nothing special but it filled a hole. Can see us returning there again too soon.

Staff Great Main course Rissoto was just a mussy mess lacked taste and Asparagus burnt Chicken was like rubber and broccoli so badly burnt was not edible . Dessert choclate fondant and ice cream good. We were told that a trainee was in the kitchen while the head chef was somewhere else . This was a gift from a special person so very disappointed. We were offered coffee but declined

Called in for a quick beer with my partner, I noticed there was a staff member from the Wakefield spoons, now one of the team managers at Morley, I spoke to her and she basically just ignored me, don't think this is professional from a management member. All other staff were friendly and polite, won't go back to that venue again.

Feeling peckish my friend decided he wanted fish & chips, we were on the Headrow so l thought of Nash's even though l've never eaten there. The reason for that is the business & alley approach looks so unwelcoming. And it did again...7 large green general waste dustbins right outside, rubbish everywhere. Now l know this is not the fault of Nash's but it's plain off-putting, they could screen it off for a small outlay. Secondly l said to my pal "lt's shut", everything about it led me to thinking that, even with an "open" flyer on the door, l was amazed the door opened when l pushed it. Oh oh, totally empty, no food in the fryers, really strange. The woman behind the counter was great, she explained that it was cooked fresh & wouldn't take long. 2 fish & chips were ordered and tbh l was not expecting much. I was wrong, the fish was really good and the chips fine & plentiful, mushy peas ok if a bit watery. The only negative was the tomato sauce, it was terrible, orange & cheap. Whilst we were eating 2 other customers arrived, so 4 in probably 40 minutes there. There is something wrong here, the food was good, the woman friendly & efficient but it is devoid of any atmosphere or decent furnishings, to me it looks like totally wasted potential. I'd probably give it another try, maybe l caught it on an unusually quiet day, but still, please make an effort on the approach & frontage to make it more welcoming, l'm sure it'd make huge difference.
