When I arrived I was greeted very cordially, taken to a table, informed that my waiter would be over shortly and left. So far so good. My waiter appeared with a menu and inquiry as to my drinks order. He returned with my drink and then promptly disappeared. I heard him introduced to other prospective diners as their waiter so it looked like he was the only one. I keep seeing him making drinks at the bar, watched by what it seemed were at least another two barmen who didn't do anything to help. There seemed to be a distinct of urgency when it came to the waiter taking food orders so I drank up, went to the bar to pay for my drink and walked down the road to the Beefeater where I got something to eat.

I have ordered a MrBeast burger on UberEats, franchised by Village Hotel Club and all I can say is the worst thing I have ever ordered. Burger bun flat, soggy and wet, burger had no sauce, no lettuce, no gherkins completely plain and nothing like the picture whatsoever. Drink that stated to be a "Coca Cola" was a Coca Cola Zero. AVOID, never been to this specific hotel or any by Village Hotel Club but to have received food from here from a UberEats delivery and to be charging £18 (including add ons) should be classed as a crime and has only damaged your name. I will never ever go near your hotels or restaurants as I can only imagine this is the quality I will receive.

£12.50 breakfast geys you over oily streaky bacon, reasonable sausages, hot beans, soggy saute potatoes and dry hard croissants. Coffee ok, fruit juice unremarkable. Pleasant staff in a big venue

we ate at the Village restaurant Friday night for my wifes birthday. Friday and Saturday night we stayed via a Red Letter Booking given to us for Christmas. The Food was above average for price £16.50 for a burger and £7.50 for some small donuts pudding. There were some tables with 8 or more so heaven knows what there bill would be ? Breakfast was good but limited Fruit available

Loveliest staff here - very comfortable and a big open space ideal for working and making a few calls. My latte was piping hot and the croissant when down a treat.

My first visit to the village hotel’s restaurant was very successful, I will definitely be returning! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and it had a lovey atmosphere. The food, even though the restaurant was busy, came very quickly and was delicious throughout. I couldn’t recommend enough, thank you for a lovely meal, please pass my gratitude to the staff working this afternoon/evening.

Great gym to use for working out and relieving the days stress. Lovely staff , very helpful and fun to be with. Followed by visit to Bar n Grill for well earned pint served by great staff.

If you are looking for somewhere With Friends to have a quiet lunch don't bother to go here. Full of numerous children running about shouting throwing balls couldn't hear myself think. No management about one young girl waiting tables on her own and a family who brought their own food in, wasn't aware you could do that here! No complaints about the food but the atmosphere overrun with children and no management dealing with it has put me off returning.

Tonight I meet up with some friends and we chose to visit the Village Inn pub and grill for dinner, well I wish we hadn’t! From the start the service was poor and only got worse there was only one young lady serving at the bar struggling to keep customers happy. The situation didn’t improve when a couple more staff turned up to help but by then two large groups needed service as well. Once we managed to order our food we didn’t have to wait too long for it to arrive but two of us weren’t given cutlery and when I went to the bar to ask about this I was told to chase after the two bar staff serving the food to ask them, they had gone into the kitchen so I stood by the kitchen door to await their return!! The tables weren’t cleared and cleaned the food was not great and the music and TV (yes together!) were so loud we couldn’t hear each other and we were sat next to each other! The general cleanliness wasn’t good inside or at the outside tables. I’m guessing there just weren’t enough staff to do all that needed to be done. Sad it use to be a nice place for a meal and chat.

Would not book a. Meal here again. Went for Sunday roast . Waited an hour for food . I kept asking where it was and was told it just coming which wasn’t true . I was never updated myself I had to keep asking . Eventually rock hard cauliflower . Anemic roast potatoes and dry carrots came out . We didn’t enjoy it at all and would never recommend it. The restaurant was nearly empty which should have told us everything on a Sunday when people like to go out for roasts.

We went for roast dinner. £16:95 each. 1 Yorkshire, 3 slices of carrot, a spoonful of cabbage. Gammon with a great lump on fat on it. Roast potatoes the size of a 2pence piece or smaller x3. Cauliflower in sauce. It did not fill the plate and was not good value for money.

Booked a table which we had to wipe clean ourselves before sitting, food was slow, order came through wrong, chicken was so dry it was inedible, chips covered in salt, cleared table ourselves as understaffed, extremely bad service!

Very Poor, not what I booked for (Inspiration Restaurant) £30 boxing day meal, got the "Pub" very short staffed had to clear on table to the empty table by side of us. 25 minutes for the main meal of beef to be cooked and rested??? I have had better meals in a staff canteen!!! Plus very noisy with the disposal of used bottles in the bar!!! and would have been better off going to "Mickys" dinner just up Bluebell Hill, children on scooters going round the pub tables (thank god they didn't get bikes for Christmas) Would not be recommending here to any one soon, and if we were not with 4 friends, and not wanting to cause a scene would not have paid for this Fiasco. It was not the 3 staffs fault on duty this day, all they kept doing was apologising for every thing. We did in the end only pay £25 a head for this "Boxing day extravaganza" would have paid a lot less else where indeed would have walked out. Again let me reiterate this was not the fault of the fault of the minimal Staff

The hotel is badly kept and the managment was poor often seeming chaotic, although the receptionist jack during his night shift was lovely, kind and polite despite this making my overall stay much more pleasent, dissapointed with management and their practises but the general staff made my experience that little bit better. He went above and beyond my expectations of a hotel receptionist although it was evident he was busy, he took time out of his shift to make my night more memorable, and if I do come back I hope to see him again.

If you want a terrible meal delivered in various parts over a very long period of time then this is your place. Don’t visit with friends as your meal won’t be delivered anywhere near the same time so it is pointless. Soggy expensive food delivered...
