One of the worst food experiences in Blackpool. They charged me £15.50 for a small, burnt burger on an oversized, stale bun. It was that dry the bun fell apart like clay. I also got wings but they were burnt to the bone too. Demanded my money back and the rude bar man didn’t even argue because he looked at the food and agreed it didn’t look edible. Never eat at this place

I brought my beautiful wife Sandra with me to grab something quick before we went out drinking. The table was in a right state when we got there, there was salt spilt all over the seat so we had to go home because Sandra is superstitious and was worried something might've happened that night! Thanks a lot

My wife and I ate at what is now called simply "The Pub & Grill" while staying at the Village Hotel. It wouldn't have been our first choice but there were two compelling reasons to eat there - firstly the hotel is in a quiet area quite some way out of the centre of Blackpool (arguably it's main selling point) so going anywhere else would have meant having to drive but secondly, and more importantly, we had a voucher for £40 off food there as part of the deal we'd booked on. The bar itself was reasonably busy when we made our way there at 5pm on a Sunday. There are two striking things about the menu, namely the lack of choice and the high prices for what is essentially "pub grub". Much of the menu comprises of burgers, which presumably explains the rebranding as "Pub & Grill", with a few other "pub grub" classics such as fish and chips. As it was her birthday my wife ordered steak and chips with a side order of peppercorn sauce and I ordered a Peri Peri chicken fillet burger. Those two meals pretty much wiped out our entire £40 voucher but probably wouldn't have cost half as much in a branch of Wetherspoons. Having sat back and waited our food arrived pretty quickly, probably not much more than ten minutes after ordering it, and in fairness we both enjoyed our meals. We weren't surprised to be served oven chips and frozen onion rings and although that's what we eat at home so we're used to them you'd expect something a bit different to what you eat at home if you're eating out, especially at the prices they charge here. The mains were tasty enough so we ordered desserts - a piece of cheesecake and a sticky toffee pudding - which I'm sure both came in frozen but were nonetheless tasty enough. Including desserts and thanks to our voucher it cost about a tenner for two mains and two puds so we left happy enough but I doubt we'd have been quite as happy if we'd paid full whack. In all it wasn't entirely terrible as the food was tasty for what it was and the staff were in fairness excellent but I wouldn't go back, at least not unless either I had another £40 voucher or they halve the prices.

I arrived early to the hotel and with a newborn. Whilst the husband was at work i decided to make the most of a change of scenery at the hotel and its surroundings. Im glad i started my day with a Victory buffet breakfast which was lovely and had a nice selection of hot and cold items. The staff were really attentive and friendly including helping me with some vegetarian options such as the sausages. They found me a place where i could breastfeed quietly and with ample space for my buggy. My little one was quite vocal too and the staff didn’t mind at all instead it led to some pleasant conversation to keep us going. A nice, spacious and relaxing environment in the restaurant with all the sports channels which is a plus for sports lovers. Thank you to the restaurant staff for making my little one and I feel so comfortable! You went out of your way to make sure we were ok and accommodated our needs.

Staff too busy on their phones to attend to customers. I asked for fish and chips and was gruffly informed"we got no fish" settled for steak and chips that would have cost £21 POUNDS! I had a voucher for £20 FROM the health club. This travesty of a meal consisted of a tough old piece of steak NOT medium rare as requested, cold microwaved chips, and 4 cherry tomatoes. £1 extra to have a little sauce! I asked for some course ground mustard a plastic bottle of "yellow" stuff was plonked on my table 20 minutes after the food arrived. This is taking the mickey as other friends have had similar experiences of this slapdash place.Frankly an absolute disgrace, avoid at all costs.

We were really looking forward to a Sunday afternoon meal with the family now the pubs have opened up again. I ordered the mussels which unfortunately were sold out so I ordered a salmon superfood salad . The salad was sold out as-well so I ended up with a dried up piece of salmon with chips, broccoli and asparagus. - an odd combination and not worth £16! The staff ( who were all lovely) were rushed off their feet - very understaffed and lots of people were complaining about having to wait. Luckily we had £20 of vouchers but as Deveres are really expensive we still paid over £30 for very average food and 1 drink each - hopefully things will pick up and they will start to order enough food for their customers.

The staff in the Victory Bar go above and beyond every time we visit. Ash, Matt, Max, Dave to name a few. I heard that hours are being cut for regular staff although there is a constant stream of new people. The hotel manager is never seen in the bar so would have no clue that us regulars appreciate the core regular staff so much. Its a real shame.

We took advantage of two £20 vouchers for staying loyal to the Village gym after lockdown. This was to be redeemed at the Victory Pub. Although the menu was limited we did select a double burger each - a spicy Mexican and an American stack with chips and relishes. The portions were massive and very tasty, swilled down with a couple of drinks. A pleasant meal served by young, well mannered staff. We will be back next month with our new set of vouchers!

After arriving we went there for a drink, we both drink wine and asked for an Australian Shiraz and NZ Sauvignon Blanc. We don't do them you have to pick from the menu. we eventually picked a white and a red and it was not to our taste at all. A company generated wine list that is inflexible and doe not cater for a popular wine Region ln the UK is not with it at all. A Pleasant view of hole of the golf course was to be enjoyed. We retired to Starbucks for a Coffee and Tea before dinner in the restaurant on site.

We were here for our daughters birthday. Her choice as we live very close by. We haven't been here for ages and were leasantly surprised at the new layout and design, really lovely. The girls ordered pizza, burger and some chicken - all went down a treat and very large portions, I was trying to be a bit healthy and so ordered the veggie wholemeal wrap with salad. It was so fresh and tasty. He ordered the superfood salad which was amazing and something we'd never tried before. Very good value - the portion sizes were great for the price. Only thing that tickled us but others would find annoying was as it is a sports bar with huge screens everywhere, the ones behind the bar act as a distraction to the bartenders. So waiting to be served when no one else was there and two staff had their backs to you as they watched the rugby could irritat some, we just laughed. We'll definitely be Wilkins over the fields to this place again.

Very disappointed. No draught bitter- no call for it they said. Mmm? Had to manage instead with Camden Pale Ale at £5.50 a pint & bar staff that don't know the difference between Scotch & American sour mash! I ordered & Scotch & dry ginger, & I saw the bar girl at first reaching for brandy & then when I said " No, Scotch," she went on to pour out a Jack Daniels! You would think at these sort of prices the bar staff would have an elementary knowledge of the drinks! £12.50 for 2 drinks is a rip off. Didn't cost that much on a recent trip to London. Shan't be rushing back. At least at Wetherspoons they know the difference between Scotch Whisky & American sour mash whiskey!!!!

The eating area has been upgraded with a special comfy area to watch the big screen tv. Outdoor is pleasant too especially with a lively six year old.The grandkids opted for pizza and sausage/beans/mash. Four of us had double burgers plus one wrap. The quality was decent and service was ok. A nice experience / the 25% off made the price of meals and drinks acceptable.

In comparison to similar establishments around the country, I feel the food is over-priced to the tune of £4 per main item - It's tasty but it is just "burger and chips" kind of fayre, and shouldn't be breaching the £10 mark however many burgers you try to stack under the over-sized bun! Beware the price of drinks too! £5.35 for a pint of IPA is London prices, in a town acknowledged as the 4th worst deprived in the country! If they dropped their prices a little, this could be a nice spot, as the view over the golf course are pleasant and the decor is inoffensive - However I left feeling a little ripped-off, and that's not a good recipe for a return visit

Enjoyed a stay at the Village Hotel in Blackpool - and stopped for a few drinks at the bar on a couple of occasions. Staff were pleasant and engaged with customers quite well for a large bar.The drinks were a bit on the expensive side (£4.60 for a pint of Stella in Blackpool and £5+ for the Goose Island and Blue Point imported "craft" beers brewed by global giant Anheuser-Busch InBev). The bar is large but there seems to be speakers everywhere - so if you want to get away from the TV screens (multiple) you will still be bombarded with the sound of the match or sporting event being played. There is a good menu (although we didn't eat here) and what came out seemed to be priced about right for the bar and location.

I decided to have food which was still good nevertheless. But £9.50 for a few chips and salad with a wrap! If it was not the fact that the Chinese and Indian takeaways are still living in the stone age in Blackpool, I would have ordered from them. I rang about 10 of them. They did deliveries but are behind with the times not having a cash machine so I couldn't pay over the phone which is something I am used to doing in the 21st century! Met family here on a Saturday for a catch up. Haven’t eaten here for a while so was expecting it to be as good as previously visited. Atmospherer wa slively, it has sport on all the TV screens and is very popular as is the 19th hole to the onsite golf course. Service was good, staff were courteous. Ordered Fish butty with fries, America Burger with fries and Chicken Buffalo wrap, with a side of fries (don’t know why these were not included as the others were) and a portion of wings. With 1 glass of wine (£5.90) the bill came to £29.17. Very expensive and to be honest not value for money. The burger was a roaring success however the fish butty was grey fish in an anemic batter with a lettuce leaf, tomato slice and gherkin. Not nice at all. The wrap tasted strange but possibly had a cheese sauce which was overpowering the taste of the whole thing. Didn’t complain as didn’t want to make a fuss however when most of the food goes back into the kitchen you would expect someone to be concerned. Definitely will not be eating in the Victory Pub again, however have been to weddings and conferences here many times and the food has been excellent.

We live 1 mile away from this hotel and frequently walk the circuit around Devere. Last night it was a pleasant evening so decided to call and have a couple of pints outside, the queue was 10 deep waiting to get served which took 15 minutes at least. There was one barman serving, one taking drinks and food to outside tables, and one girl collecting glasses putting them on an already full bar area of dirty glasses. One pint of Boddingtons and one pint of Becks = £8.05, on showing the now required " on line" discount card on my iPhone we were told it's not accepted as there was no live football match and it was mid week, only accepted at weekends, strange this as its been accepted many times before! After the first round of drinks I went back to get another and yes just the same, another 15 minute wait. I complained to the bar man but was told the staffing was based on last years figures of how many staff are required at certain times of the day!! WHAT! I plan NOT to visit again this same time next April as I don't want to wait 30 mins for 2 pints of very expensive ale.

Just been in this evening and couldn't fault the staff. Sam was very attentive and cheery. Always good when you have staff with passion to excel. Not just to work for the wage. The chicken tenders were lovely. Only criticism would be a lack of steak in the steak pie! Other than that, great!

I visited with my husband and son. When ordering my husbands asked if there was any sauce on the chicken strips as they were for our 2 year old the woman taking the order said no... They came with jalapeños all over them !! My pizza came with what seemed like a full tub of oregano I tried to scrape it off and it was in edible I went over to tell the lady she did offer to do me a new one witch I declined as we were visiting the zoo and everyone had finished eating expecting her to offer my money back for at least the pizza she just said awww ok bye !!My husbands burger was ok but we had also ordered some chicken wings which tasted sour!! All in all I was disappointed I did email but didn't even get a reply awful customer service!

This is by far the best place to eat in this village hotel.I tried the Italian which was awful .The food was simple but tasty pub type, I had the double cheese burger with fries and was great.Good atmosphere, very attentive staff and enough TVs to be able to watch sport from anywhere

......A tad expensive for us.This is our 4th time of being in The Victory.Greeted by Sophie..chatty and smiling, who told us about some local attractions, and was great company. Great atmosphere in the pub itself. We didn't eat this time but the food is generally ok. The pub itself is very comfortable and welcoming, and we do like to sit outsode, weather permitting!

Nice pub located in the DeVere Village Hotel. Good atmosphere and views across golf course but wow, seriously ... How much? £4.25 for a lager shandy (ouch!) Staff offered me a free Red Card that gave half price on some drinks during live football matches but other than that ... How much?! Only popped on because I was staying at hotel but the prices are expensive!!

We were staying at the DeVere and as it was the first day and we'd got to the hotel early we decided to eat at the Victory Bar - even though we had seen the reviews on TripAdvisor. We ordered some sandwiches and a burger. The burger was actually very good - even if it was missing its side salad/garnish. The sandwiches were also good - one arrived with sweetcorn in it which was not mentioned on the menu so went back. Overall cost for five meals and drinks was £85. Overall the service was good as well although the staff member we dealt with to pay really needed to get some maths skills as she had to get the manager to work out the change for her!We didn't eat here again but did stop for a few drinks most days.

They really need staff training, 20 minutes waiting at the bar to get served, then advised it was a half hour wait for food, after an hour we enquired when would the food arrive, no response !! when it did arrive it was mediocre at best, we were eventually asked by a member of staff if everything was alright, we said no and asked to see a manager......guess what , no one came !! shocking service and it wasn't busy, we won't be going back !!

Visited here with friends. Hotel is very nice but the Victory pubs food was awful. I only ordered a burger my friends weren't eating. Took 40 minutes to arrive wasn't overly busy! When arrived burger bun was very dry burger was as thin as a slice of ham and no cheese on like it described on the menu !! Chips were nice though !! Certainly won't be eating here again!!

Firstly I have never used the De Vere as we always thought it was out of our price bracket..but was recommended to visit by my sister. Anyway last Friday we ventured over to the Victory pub..all 8 of us, now we have a lot of fussy eaters in our party and at first I thought our waitress 'Sophie' was a little startled by our requests, but she was brilliant, she really looked after my fussy lot!Our meals were delivered, all hot but a hit and miss on a couple of the meals, the fish and chips were delicious if a little greasy. The burgers were good and also the side dishes onion rings and chicken tenders. I would visit again, the bar prices are not over priced either..you pay much more in town for cheap watered down drinks. Thank you to Sophie for her making our visit a memorable one.

After attending my sons college presentation evening we decided to have dinner at the DeVere Hotel, we first looked at the Italian Resterant but did not think the menu was not that interesting, so on to the Victory pub! Both my wife and son decided on the burgers, my son finished all his meal and told me that he really enjoyed his meal, my wife finished all her meal but told me the chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil.I ordered the fish and chips, when it arrived, it looked amazing! The Tatar sauce was fantastic, chips were ok, but the fish batter was just dripping with grease, it was a shame because the fish was still succulent and tender. When the waiter came over to ask if the food was ok, I told him about the problem,he looked at me and said ok,do you want any sweets!Shame.

Visited to check out the facilities prior to booking a long weekend at the DeVere for Friends And Family.Decide to eat in the Victory Pub - what a bad mistake this was. Staff were not interested and food quality was poor. One meal sent back as cold was obviously pinged in the microwave.A burger was ordered without cheese only to be delivered with cheese on it. When it was sent back the staff obviously scraped the Cheese off then turned the burger over before putting back on the same bun. Will not book the hotel as a result of this service. Will use an hotel in Blackpool which provides a good quality service

I booked afternoon tea for my mothers 60th birthday, the sandwiches were the worst I have tasted, having requested vegetarian we received aubergine and sun dried tomato!!!!.....no other varieties and these were served on a wooden block along with scones with whipped cream and plastic tubs of jam!!.....This was not afternoon tea, we should of had a selection of sandwiches served on a silver plate and clotted cream......I paid a lot for this and made a complaint on 26th Feb and had no response having chased on numerous occasions even re-visiting the hotel..........AVOID AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I will not be re-visiting and certainly wont be recommending :-(

It's pub food. What do you expect? For me, I expected British fish and chips and to cross off "drink a beer in a British bar" on my bucket list. That's exactly what I got. For more, read my blog post: http://thecarpediemproject.ca/travel/blackpool-england/

Not even average quality. I had tikka masala and it was obvious it was a microwave bag meal. The hotlel is really lovely, good value for money and I felt this facility let the standard down. Wouldn't eat there again but will definitely re visit the hotel.
