Me and my partner both ate here during our stay using a voucher of £50 that the hotel provided us with. The food was very good, tasty and we had a decent portion - we both said we would eat there again.

There was nothing wrong with the food, just nothing out of the ordinary (except the price!) - Average food, served to look (but not taste) fancy. Food took a long time to come, even though they were not especially busy.

Lively bar/diner majoring on burgers. Some good offers (burger for £1 with fries a further £1 - early special) and really a sort of cheap and cheerful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not really my kind of place. Trying to be a pub inside an quite average hotel.

I ate in here on the evening I stayed in the attatched hotel. Bar staff were attentive and friendly. Great selection of beers to try, including a very tasty IPA brewed in Chicago. I'll be looking out for more of their beers! To eat I had the old pub favourite of sausage & mash. Four chunky sausages sat on an island of mash, surrounded by a moat of gravy. Heaven. Being naughty, I then had the chocolate mousse. This arrives in a mug. It's huge, dense and really tasty. It beat me, but probably just as well, as I'd forgotten my gym kit to work it all off...

Was initially looking for a place to eat in Hull, but being a nice Saturday evening all the good places were full. Decided to go back to the hotel where we were staying and try our luck there. Not usually a fan of hotel bars as the food is usually a bit naff. Really surprised how good the food is. Staff are really friendly, a real credit to the place. Only ordered burgers but they were real. Not the usual filler filled burgers which most places sell. Followed by a cheesecake pudding which was great although a bit on the large side. Definitely recommend.

We have visited a few Village Hotels pubs. The pub here is advertised as a hotel bar and classic sports bar but the two unfortunately just didn't mix at this hotel. The pub was a dark room with dark wooden blinds most of which were shut during daylight hours and with all the dark furniture it felt stuffy, small and overcrowded. There were screens showing sport, the speakers for the TV/music in particular in the corners of the room where the eating tables were were on far too loud, we sat at a table under a speaker and had to move because we could not hear each other speak (we are in our 30's and no problems with hearing) "Pub grub" as advertised by Village was on the menu - Burgers £9, wraps, sandwiches, pizza £8.50, fish & chips £10. The burgers were good with nice fries as was the club sandwich, fish & chips had far too much batter on it and the fish batter was dark brown, an unpleasant mouthful when the oil in fryer just probably needed changing.

The Village Hotel provides a convenient meeting place just outside of the city centre. Not very busy on a Monday lunchtime and the 2 meals for £15 is a decent deal. My colleague had a classic burger with cheese and I had the sweet potato and spinach curry with rice and nan bread. With drinks this all came to a shade under £20. Attentive staff and good value food. Have visited before and will recommend to others.

Five of us called here for lunch and we're presented with a fairly limited menu consisting of sandwiches., burgers and pies. Nothing really jumped out.Anyway we ordered and the food turned up in good time. Nothing really wrong with any of it but then again nothing was very memorable. Having ate on a Saturday we were unable to take advantage of their 'deals' meaning it wasn't great value. Sorry. But that's the way it was.

The Victory is a great looking pub, you feel like you're in a real pub not a hotel bar and there are plenty of offers to take advantage of. We were there for a weekend and Friday night was really vibrant with a disco on. Saturday was quieter but still lots of atmosphere there. It wasn't all plain sailing but please read to end before you judge them as their handling of situations is really good and to err is human after all. They need to up their game as some of their practices go as far as being illegal. They served half a Budweiser in a glass more suited to a large short and mixer with no markings on. Weights and measures rules state that when serving from a draught pump glasses must carry a government stamp indicating the volume the glass carries. Clearly this is a training issue that can be rectified immediately. And so into the menu which is very good again with offers and a really great Friday burger offer. We ate here on the Saturday night and my partners club sandwich n chips was great. I ordered my cheese n ham with no tomato and it did indeed come with no tomato unfortunately they decided to add Mayo to it. This is not stated in the menu and due to allergies this again is something you can't do. The menu should clearly state what it is serving. Ham and cheese club is described as ham, melted cheddar, tomato and lettuce i took it back and they were really good about it and replaced it quickly. This time it had tomato in it! I gave up and told them to take it back and I didn't want it replacing as I would have liked to eat with my partner who by this time had nearly finished. I hope I expressed this politely as it wasn't the servers mistake. They did refund our money, give us a free drink and try to encourage me to have something else. They handled it so politely that I almost felt bad! Well done on their handling of the situation. It is a shame I didn't get to eat the food as my partner said his was excellent. I feel this sounds a bit negative when actually we enjoyed our two night in there and would definitely return. Everywhere can make mistakes, they should be judged on how they handle those mistakes and the Victory handled it really well. We will definitely go back.

We visited this place years ago and it was good, we visited again the other other day and it was even better then before. They have a starbucks coffee area , gym . swimming pool, pub, and i believe its called the de vere restaurant. We thought we would try the restaurant, on the sunday they do a 5 course meal for £12.99 which is fantastic value for money. The place has a really relaxed atmosphere about it and really nice and cosy setting in the restaurant. They have soup to start or their is a pasta station pick what you like with the pasta and they cook it in front of you. Then they have have a salad bar with prawns, different fish a potato dish which was lovely pork pie etc etc. Main course been a carvery which you had 3 meats to choose from all of them if you like, roast and creamy mashed potato, sausages, stuffing, homemade yorkies etc.You have a choice of plenty of different desserts trifle, chocolate fudge cake, cheese cakes, crumbles, fruit salad and from the station pancakes it just goes on and on. And when you think its all over you have the cheese board to compete with the biscuits for cheese and pickles. Its great value for money good service very very clean and a very nice selection of food only problem is i ate to much. Everything was very nice and to be truthful as much as i tried could not fault it ,GREAT PLACE.

We popped into the Victory Pub for a lunch time snack. Our food was very good as were the staff, friendly and helpful BUT if we were expecting to have a quiet hour we were very dissappointed as this is more a sports bar than a place for relaxing. It is a place where the tvs are showing not stop sport (although being a saturday may have been something to do with it).We did find a quiet corner, but then realised that although there was no tv there was a speaker so we wouldnt miss anything!! The place is also quiet dark. If you love your sport then you will love this place, otherwise you may want to avoid it.

I stayed at the village for 2 nights and both times ate at the victory. The place is well llaid out, caters for families, couples and businessmen , like myself, travelling alone. The staff are polite , friendly, courteous & have a smile on their face. The food was brought out quickly (But not too quick to make you "Wonder"), was PIPING hot & very tasty.Fish & Chips are fresh, not greasy & you get about the right portion control.Would recommend the double stack burgers (I shouldn't of - but when in Rome...or Hull!) great value and very very filling. My only slight...very slight issue is the price.£15.90 for fish & chips with a pint of guinness , is just a bit above the normal for me.But overall, great place, great food, great staff.
