Lovely spot and decor. The Victors burger @£18.50 however was completely under whelming ! It made other chain burgers look like fine dining.A bland burger in a bun with a thousand island style dressing / no salad or relishes. Accompanied by a pot of anaemic skinny fries.

Overpriced food. The live music was so loud you couldn’t hear anyone talk. The atmosphere was awful. The service was awful, one waitress snapped at a member of our party at the table. I wouldn’t speak to anyone like that, let alone a paying customer. It was a graduation meal for a 22 year old who was initially refused a drink at the table with her meal whilst seated with family despite that being allowed in the UK without a valid ID. Then it required discussion with about 4 different members of staff to rectify this even though at the door we were told her lack of ID wouldn’t be an issue. Would never recommend, staff are rude and we were made to feel very unwelcome. Would advise anyone looking for a meal at the top of Westgate looks elsewhere

Would not recommend if you want a nice peaceful meal! They mistakenly gave our table away to someone else so we had to wait at the bar until they had sorted it out to which they forgot about and I had to ask again of when our table would be ready. They have a live DJ playing from 8pm but the music was so loud you can't hear the person next to you, it's more like a club. The food was mediocre at best, the burger was tiny with no salad, the chips were undercooked and pretty sure they were McCain chips. We refused to order dessert as we didn't want to be in there longer than we had to. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant.

Me and my friend always wanted to have a dinner in victors so we decided to book a table there. Firstly it took almost 30 minutes to book a table where the person who was on call wasn’t able to get the name properly. After the call she said that the table was booked for 2 people by 9pm. By 7:30pm he called and asked to adjust for one person but then the manager started speaking rude which was not expected from such a great restaurant. Also the manager said there’s no booking by that name.Without no reason speaking rudely when asked to adjust for one person. The staff is too rude and in the end the manager said we are blacklisting you. I hope they first work on how to talk with the guests. What a worst experience just on a call and thankfully we didn’t go there to have our dinner with such disrespectful staff

Absolutely loved my visit yesterday, me, my girlfriend and a group of friends came here for dinner for my 30th birthday. I wish I got the name of my waitress because her service was impeccable! My fillet steak was absolutely divine! Great drink selection throughout and catered to one of my groups nut allergy. Atmosphere was really nice too. A small thing I did enjoy was the constant water top ups of the carafes. The entire experience was just delightful and then some. Would 100% recommend victors for a meal or a celebration meal! Thank you a great night

Such a beautifully decorated restaurant. The wisteria is stunning! We popped by for a quick lunch and enjoyed the Caesar salad and Turkey club sandwich. Both very tasty and nicely presented.

Having recommended this restaurant to some friends we dined with shortly before going to a Pretenders concert at the New Theatre, the experience was not anywhere near the same wow factor as last time I visited this restaurant. The service was very slow and several times we had to get up and ask for attention, including drinks which took ages to arrive. The food quality wasn't great either, and I had to wait 25 mins after my seabass main course had arrived, before receiving a garlic and potato side dish, which we had asked 2 staff separately for updates that weren't received. In summary, the extortionate price of £219 for 4 people didn't match up to the service and quality expected! Very disappointed...

Been here several times over the years. Definitely won’t be going back on a Friday or Saturday night (after 8pm), music is so loud that you have to shout to hear what anyone is saying. Bit of a joke when you’re spending £100 per person on what’s meant to be a nice meal. Staff cannot turn volume down. The food is good overall, shame that they have removed sashimi from the menu though. Cocktails are ok but not great. Negroni was mediocre, Long Island IT tasted like they’d only put about 5ml of each alcohol in the drink, if that. I will go back I imagine, but I’m not in any rush to. UPDATE: We arrived at 8:15pm and we left two hours later at 10:15. At no point was there any singer nor any DJ. Just loud music, but definitely no singer nor DJ between 8:15-10:15pm on Saturday night.

It was my friends birthday and we made a trip from London to Oxford to celebrate. We asked to move seat as we were too close to the singer-it was no problem. We thank the gentleman with the long nails. So helpful. I like to get the name of my server, ours was Poppy. We had the roast lovely meal -no problem I made a bday booking and no bday firework came to our table, so I discretly reminded Poppy - no problem The bday plate came along without a cake and it looked lonely. So we requested a cake (there was no issue paying for what we wanted). However, another waitress informed Poppy infront of my party (apparently Poppy was new) that there was a fee for the cake and we were not to have it for free. The conversation was unneeded and we had not requested anything for free. We just wanted a cake, not details of other clients expecting freebies I had no understanding why a waitresses who had not served us, proceeded to intervene when we had made a simple request I removed myself from my table and raised my concern with the unwelcome waitress (no name). She was hostile, rude and curt. Adding further insult to injury. I requested a manager and was met with a man presumably from the backoffice who I had not seen on the shop floor. He did not deescalate the situation and it was clear he had chosen to be on the side of his staff. He did nothing to remedy, offered a token apology for my feelings of disappointment and offered no good will gestures. Ultimately my efforts to celebrate my friends 47th bday have been tarnished by a hostile experience. That I believe was so unnecessary. I thought I had done everything right. 1. I had alerted staff to the bday when I arrived 2. I had registered a bday on my booking. 3. The bday was forgotten and that's fine. Things do happen. But the way my compliant was handled. The energy of the manager who was determined to honour his staff rather than remedy the situation was shocking. I don't need to hear stories of clients trying to get a free bday cakes. I don't care. I just want to have a positive, memorable experience with my dear friend. What we experienced was very saddening and my pictures are left with sad undertones. Great food. But between the manager and waitress ( whose names I don't have) rather upsetting and downright appauling

My idea of hell, honestly. Woke, hipster, noisy, full of posers and severely, criminally over priced. Food was extremely poor. I sent my chicken burger back and it didn't come back in time to eat it before we needed to leave. Somehow I owed £55 and I'd eaten 2 croquettes. Dreadful **update** Since my review I have had the pleasure of being in contact with Robbie and then Shaun from Victor's regarding my dissatisfaction. The attention to customer service and care was really exemplary, and I'm very impressed. I'm upping my review score from 1 star for this reason. The team really listens to their customers and takes feedback very seriously.

This is a beautiful restaurant but sadly the food doesn’t match. It’s certainly an instagrammable location with stunning interiors but we were let down with the food. I had the beef sandwich with chips, sadly I felt the portion was so small especially paying £17 for it. I also ordered a coke and when the bill came, I saw they charged for a pint even though the menu didn’t specify sizes and it showed a lower price. Staff were friendly and welcoming though it took a while to pay. If you leave feedback you get £20 off the next time though I don’t think I’ll be returning. It’s a bit too expensive for what it was.

Its was quiet as we went on a Monday night but the food was great, the beef tataki in particular was amazing. We ordered a second portion. Delicious wines and exceptional service. Thank you.

We visited with a group of 8 over the weekend. Lovely looking place with great potential - unfortunately the service wasn't great! Everything seemed to be too much hassle for the staff - but the biggest disappointment was the food - ordered burger which was no different to McDonald's cheeseburger! Definitely won't return anytime soon.

Food was very average. Staff were not serving outside, despite there being lots of staff around who seemed to be doing nothing. We ordered at the bar - even a wetherspoons would let you order on an app. The venue itself is very nice, location excellent, parking readily available.

Fantastic meal out to celebrate my recent qualification, the staff were so attentive and brought out lots of sparkly surprises! I'd been looking forward to the lobster mac and cheese all week and it did not disappoint!

Came here for dinner last night and was a bit underwhelmed. The prices are high so the food and service should reflect this. Unfortunately the service wasn't of a particularly high standard - the staff weren't that friendly and didn't really make us feel welcome. On the whole the food was fairly decent but didn't quite live up to the price. I had the popcorn chicken to start. The chicken itself was nice and fresh and had a nice texture on the outside, but overall the dish lacked flavour. The accompanying dip was pretty weak and could've done with something else to elevate it (maybe even just a wedge of lemon or some chilli sauce etc to cut through). The steak for my main was pretty nice and you could tell it was good quality. However, I asked for it medium rare and it was definitely more rare (the middle was pretty much raw). The fries were standard McDonald's style fries which, again, were very disappointing for the price. Finally when the bill came they had automatically added a 12.5% service charge. I understand this is discretionary, but it puts the customer in an awkward position as you feel rude asking to remove/change it so feel obliged to pay. We weren't pleased to see this especially considering the service wasn't great. Overall, the food was pretty nice but the experience was let down by high prices and subpar service.

The actual restaurant and vibe was very relaxing and the Staff were so lovely but I'm afraid I didn't enjoy the food! The duck (duck salad) was tough as boots and the merangue (raspberry pavlova) was raw! My daughter on other hand, had the honey chicken burger with fries, which she said were lovely. A favourite cocktail (reason for going) and pudding were out of stock but that's understandable in Graduation week.......for which my daughter was very kindly Congratuated for by the lovely Staff. Great Staff!

As a loyal customer who has visited Viktors in Oxford more than 20 times this year, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of respect and poor service during my recent visit. My group of three wanted to sit at a low table, but there were only two chairs available. When I politely asked if they could move over three chairs so we could all sit together, the staff refused. Instead, they insisted that one of us sit on a high chair at a low table, which was both uncomfortable and unreasonable. Thankfully, Lefteris, the barman, understood our situation and went out of his way to help us. His assistance was the only positive aspect of our visit. I wish the entire staff, not just part of it, were as well-trained and attentive as he was. It’s disappointing that, despite being a frequent customer, I had such a frustrating experience.

As a restaurateur, decided to travel 2 hours for fun and enjoy Oxofrd at the same time. I recently visited Victor and had the Tomahawk steak, which was satisfactory. I decided to upgrade to the Surf & Turf. Unfortunately, my husband chose the Sunday Roast, which was disappointing and didn't justify the price. STAFF attitude problem: The real letdown, however, was the behaviour of the receptionist - an Eastern European woman and a flamboyant man who appeared to only pay attention to those they considered posh. Their rudeness and lack of respect were evident, especially when I commented on the delay despite being informed that our table was ready. The receptionist was particularly sharp in her response, and HIS facial expression was dismissive. Our friends had previously encountered similar experiences with these individuals, but it was brushed aside as part of the overall dining experience. However, personally experiencing such behavior was unacceptable. I read a lot of comments and it appears that tjis restaurants major issue is the STAFF!!!! The Bart tender on the other hand was nice and knowledgeable. Would i recommend this? No Would i come back? No Would this be a top place? No The experience scars us.

We came for some nibbles at the bar and a few drinks. However, I wasn’t entirely pleased with the staff’s attitude. They weren’t rude, but they also weren’t particularly friendly. It felt as though they were doing me a favour when they told me to sit anywhere at the bar, especially since it was my first time there and I wasn’t sure where the bar area started and ended. On a positive note, the barman was good at accommodating custom changes to the drinks. The food was fine, though nothing exceptional—although I did really enjoy the spiced tomato butter.

Over priced. 35£ for 7 pieces of sushi, and trying to convince us the this meal is for 2 people. Plus the sushi was below average.

me and my now fiance recently dined here, it was an excellent meal and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. baring in mind we came on a very busy night service was quick and just as a kind gesture our waitress brought over some champagne to end our evening as we celebrated our engagement! would highly recommend.

Bottomless brunch- Willis Phoebe Simone and Archie were amazing. Couldn't fault them very attentive nothing was too much trouble. Would come again. Great atmosphere. Food was also amazing! Highly recommend.

Came to celebrate my birthday with my family , which was overshadowed by the most horrendous quality food you can imagine. Thinking we were going with the safest option - we ordered a chicken burger, which was made with the cheapest looking bun, an over fried tough piece of chicken and some sauce. No garnish, no tomato cucumber salad leaves nothing that you could expect to see in your burger. I orderer a beef burger that came in the same pathetic bun, 2 slices of gherkins, a processed patty with full of hard chewy bits. We complained, as an apology they didn’t charge us for the desserts. But honestly overall SHOCKING. Overpriced and low quality, definitely not going back and wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this place. If you want a nice burger, you better go to Popeyes or even to McDonalds.. Service was really slow too.

Terrible service as Victors especially as we had some high profile guests visiting from the US. They forgot to bring many orders and items. Still charged for them at the end. Service was bad. Lots of confusion. One of the waiters stood at the opposite end of the table and tried to take my order from there. Food was average. Great atmosphere though.

I like Victor's but dread talking to the hostesses every time I go there. 🙄 My husband and I went for lunch, half of the tables and Casamigos (where we wanted to sit) were empty but we were told we had to wait over 20min or sit inside on one of the few sunny days. I questioned if Casamigos' waiting time was long and after some confusion between them, we were sat straight away. The waiter at our table was very nice, the food and drinks were served promptly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

I've been here numerous times (I'm not sure why) and all (but one) of them have been disappointing. They have the most intricate and delicious-sounding items on the menu, but they just aren't very nice. I came here for a dessert after a meal at another Westgate restaurant and despite looking heavenly, it had an unusual texture and was very bland, despite appearing to have the most delicious flavour profile from the menu. I probably won't be returning.

I visit Victors often and was served by Ava on this occasion. Ava, provided great service and looked after our table well. Big shout out to Ava and hopefully she is our waitress next time too.

My party of 6 visited on Sunday, August 4th for a baby shower celebration. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations due to several service issues. Billing Errors: We were incorrectly charged for a spilled drink and an extra beverage due to confusion with orders taken by multiple staff members. Missing Items: Unlimited tea wasn't offered, and some sandwiches arrived late and required replacement. Plates were also not provided initially. Communication Issues: The inconsistent service staff caused confusion with orders and delivery. This significantly impacted our enjoyment of the event, especially considering it was a special occasion. I contacted the restaurant directly on August 7th to address these issues but haven't received a response. I hope the restaurant takes my feedback seriously and improves communication and service for future customers.

The atmosphere in Victor’s is truly outstanding, the food is amazing and the service is quick and on point. Our server Lyu had amazing recommendations and was outstanding, definitely recommend paying a visit!

I loved the service the food everything, this is a must for food lovers especially their tomahawk rib eye which was insanely yummy. You have to try it if you visiting and I got very very very good service from Archie who works there. (Pls give him raise)

First trip to Victors. Place is busy, bar staff are quick and attentive. The menu is somewhat uninspiring It’s not cheap so was expecting some well presented and tasty food for the price. Ordered the Burger and chicken burger. Both dishes poorly presented, more of a burger van burger. At £18.50 basic bun, patty burger sauce and a bit of cheap cheese. Fries were very basic. No side salad/garnish Chicken burger was the same. Is it bad, no. But is it good absolutely not. Bit of a shame as would seem from recent reviews I’m not the first to point this out. Staff were friendly and attentive Place is nice and clean so really it’s just the food that appears to let this place down.

My friend and I had lunch last week.. very surprised by the attitude of the waiter that gave us a seat.. did not look happy and when he asked us if we wanted water.. he never came back to us.. we got served by someone else in the end.. The service was not good and that’s why we did not pay the discretionary service charge..

Disappointing!!! We’ve previously come to Victors and not had any issues but today really let us down. The burger was very mediocre- completely overpriced as it was purely burger cheese and bun. No pickles or salad. The chip portion was also underwhelming. To make matters worse, the burger meat was of poor quality as it had lots of fatty chunks/ grit. All in all we left disappointed as we felt like the hefty price tag couldn’t be justified in the quality of either of our meals. Unfortunately, this means we won’t be returning.

Popped in with a friend for cocktails. Lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff . Next time we’ll be back to have a meal.

We arrived and to be honest they all had a “fake smile” on their face. We ordered our food and it took an hour to receive. Then when it came, they didn’t even tell us what order was which but it was especially important because we had a couple of people with food allergies. Our starter plates were filthy. But not just filthy, they had sauces on them and oil, it’s like they didn’t even bother replacing any plates from previous guests. The manager was actually really nice, it’s the staff who are rude, fake. This place is really going downhill because of the customer service. It’s a real shame! I won’t be going back in a hurry…..

Absolutely gutted. Booked a table in the secret garden for my birthday’s birthday. She came all the way to Oxford:( Unfortunately there was something wrong with the booking and I couldn’t book us all for afternoon tea. I couldn’t modify/ cancel the booking and I had to give the restaurant a ring but the staff was so unhelpful and impatient then I had to cancel the reservation. Later that night, I didn’t realise that the booking wasn’t cancelled until I received a sms to confirm the reservation. I only had a few hours to book another restaurant for the next day. I literally had some good experiences celebrating birthday with Victors but this time was completely different and so sad that my friends’s birthday surprise was ruined. Never meant to complain but wrote some feedback to the restaurant by email. Someone called Sam asked me to write in details. It’s been a week but still no response at all, feeling even worse.

We came here for bottomless brunch for a friends birthday. We ordered our first drinks and had to wait 20 mins. As someone who works in a restaurant I felt a bit bad but went on to see they have 7 bar tenders? Crazy. The food is so mediocre for the price, tasteless fries, overcooked squid the only thing that was okay was the burgers but nothing special and it’s not hard to make a burger. Because of the delay in drinks we kept ordering everytime we got drinks delivered to try make the most out of the £42.50 cost of bottomless brunch, some people in our group paying £50 to get cocktails. We were then told we can’t order another drink until we finish the one we have??? Insane. How can you make us wait 15-20 mins for a simple drink with 7 people behind the bar but we’re not allowed to order until our current drink is finished that’s not even bottomless brunch just normal service. You can get better at las iguanas or any other restaurant for cheaper.

The view from the outside alone is worth the money...

You have to place your order from the bar, they service charge you à hige amount and then the bartender ask you to add gratuity without telling you anything about service charge. You end up for 2 cocktails a fries and a houmous to be charged more than 51 pounds. Will never be back again.

Would absolutely recommend coming here for a bottomless brunch - the food was fabulous and a lot more than I’d expected!! The drinks were amazing and definitely worth the cocktail upgrade!! Came here for dinner and I asked for some water upon sitting down. No one came over for 25+ minutes. (Arrived 8:30pm, left at 8:56). Not to ask for our order, or for drinks, or to give me my water. Even after waving staff down multiple times. Gave them a piece of my mind and left.

Lacklustre experience in what we thought what would be a lovely restaurant. The restaurant is very pretty so we thought we’d go in for a date night. We sat outside in the aesthetic wooden canopy. We were offered tap water which would be great in the heat…but it never came. We ordered one cocktail and another soft drink.The ‘sweet sting’ cocktail was ‘lame’ according to my boyfriend. It tasted like watered down whiskey with a tropical juice from a corner shop. The moving mountain burger was nice for a vegetarian but came with nothing but fries, I'm used to some coleslaw or salad on the side! My boyfriends chicken burger was just sad. It was about the size of your palm with no relish and the bread was soggy. For the price, you would expect to be full after the meal, but no. The service was fine, we never got the water and weren’t checked up on at all we didn't mind. We understand it was busy and things are forgotten but we never got the water and were never offered more drinks. Disappointing trip and we wont be returning, even if it’s a popular instagram spot!

Oh may what a wonderful charming restaurant. Great choice of champagne 🍾 and priced very reasonable by glass or bottle

Not been to Oxford before, happened upon Victor’s on the rooftop. What a fantastic spot! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Did have to wait 10/15 minutes before we asked for our drinks order. The Raspberry Berry mocktail is delicious by the way! After waiting a further 20/25 or so for our main meal which hadn’t arrived, I politely asked one of the staff and within 5 minutes our food was brought to the table. The crispy duck salad was fantastic. My daughter did ask for some mayo but the waiter didn’t return. If I visit Oxford again, I might well head to Victor’s. It was a little bit of a letdown in some areas and slightly overpriced, but the staff (aside from the delays, it was busy though) and setting are a delight!

We ate outside. The staff chatted a lot with each other, made customers wait a long time and paid little attention to service. The food tasted good. Was well taken care of. Too bad about the service and the long wait for the drinks.

We celebrated a friend's birthday here. The food was very good as were the cocktails. I would definitely recommend the crispy duck salad. The only thing to let the experience down was the service, very lovely but waited a very long time for drinks. At one point we had a jar of cocktail but no glasses. Others were having similar issues. A shame because the venue is lovely, the live band was wonderful.

Service was slow but it seemed to be because there weren't many waiters/waitresses. The ones that served us weren't bad. Food is lovely. Definitely recommend. Just need more staff.
