Great food, great service and decent prices.

We came in at the busiest time possible, from what the waiter told us, but the food more than made up for it. My friends and I had been craving some authentic Sichuan food and the noodles really hit the spot. The service was quite slow, though it appears that the restaurant was a little understaffed for such a high demand. I thoroughly enjoyed the tea and the hand-pulled noodles were excellent. Definitely a great spot if you need authentic Chinese food and tea.

The food here is scrumptious! We had the beer braised duck, hot & sour noodle and 2 veggies. We polished them all and added a dessert. The taste of the food is very authentic sichuan. The service was very good too. The waiters attentive and accommodating, suggested accommodating veggie dishes since we wanted veggie dishes. Overall, very pleasant staff. It was a pity that we only stayed in Oxford for 3 nights and had to move around the area a bit. We would have gone back to this place for meals if we had the time.

I ordered beef noodles there was 2 thin slices of beef then all chilli so very disappointing all I could taste was chilli I had diarrhoea for three days! Do not eat here unless you’re constipated!

Great Chinese food, and it’s very spicy as SiChuan cuisine should be. Feels like back to China. Even though it’s a bit expensive .

First time ordering a takeaway from there. Just ordered and left so can’t say anything about the the service inside but…my food So disappointed with it. £10.90 for this Special fried rice which tasted boiled. More egg then chicken just chicken no beef or pork two prawns no oyster sauce. Really won’t be spending my dosh in there again. Wouldn’t mined if it was decent

Just ordered a take away from here and unfortunately every dish apart from the rice we couldn't eat. Such a waste of money , I would not recommend this if you enjoy Chinese food

Very salty, no cooking skills, hard to eat 0/10 Hygiene is worth mentioning, very dirty, the dishes were not washed at all What a shame

The boiled fish was too bad. The fish was not fresh but packaged Longli fish. The chili and Sichuan peppercorn oil were not warm enough and were not fried thoroughly. There was no spicy taste at all. Hope it improves!

I brought ingredients for processing. A friend came here before and the store raised prices. The store bullied customers, played with customers' emotions, and didn't know how to do business.

As other reviews have pointed out, not good for vegetarians. My noodle soup had bits of meat in it even after I clarified multiple times that I wanted vegetarian. What's more, it wasn't even as flavorful as one would like. I've spent time in Sichuan and the flavors at this restaurant are not it.

Very bad experience overall. Not only was the service shockingly poor but I also witnessed a sign of racial discrimination in this restaurant. This restaurant treat people with different races differently! I was dining with my friends this evening and two Asian girls was sitting next to us and brought in two bubble tea with them. This restaurant doesn’t allow customers to bring their own drinks so one waiter warned the two girls that they cannot drink their bubble tea and they said yes. HOWEVER, after this warning the waiter very rudely brought two plastic bags and tried to cover their drinks in a very impolite manner! These two girls are shocked and confused because they didn’t drink after the waiter told them about the rules!! This whole process was very rude and disrespectful and you can tell that the waiter didn’t respect these two Asian girls. As a Chinese, I truly feel sorry for how this Chinese restaurant treat people!

We were a large group of 20+ who preordered some set dishes for a Friday dinner. Andrew was really helpful about ensuring we had the exact preorder we wanted and getting that all ready precisely. It was very easy to put together a menu to suit a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. We were sat across three large tables in a side room with no other parties, so it was essentially like having our own function room where our party could mingle and move around without feeling like we might be upsetting other diners, so this was really ideal and made for a wonderful atmosphere. The food was fantastic with generous portions. The light/cold dishes are always a highlight here for me and I would strongly encourage be adventurous with these if you generally stick to hot dishes only. The rest of our party commented that the meal was fantastic with many different highlights. Andrew was extremely helpful in letting us settle the bill as suited us but in hindsight I think we caused him a lot of stress and we will be more organised next time! Overall this is a fabulous choice for a very large group, the team are very capable with turning out a banquet-style meal.

Was nice food but too many menus, literally like 3 or 4 different menus to read through. Not many options for people who are vegetarian either.

There are a couple of things that make this restaurant special: First off, the food — especially the hand pulled noodles were a real treat, as were the size of portions served. This place came recommended by a mainland Chinese student and did not disappoint. We had a number of noodle dishes, spring rolls as well as various hot desserts and jasmine tea. All equally good — you also know you’re in the right place when all the other tables around you are occupied by mandarin speakers. Second, when we left one of us forgot something at the place and the manager ran half way across Gloucester green to catch up with us. Taking their food as serious as their service. It was the perfect place for a piping hot and hearty spicy meal with fellow speakers at an event. Informal enough to let the conversation flow yet good in a way that meant we also got replenished after a long day of debating. Can’t wait to go back for all the other dishes and thanks again for taking such good care of us!

Each fried rice dish is cooked to perfection from what I tried. The service and atmosphere are also both spot on, definitely a place I’ll be visiting again 😍

This restaurant has the most lovely and delicious BBQ and noodles among Chinese restaurants in Oxford, the grilled lamb skewers, oysters are in Chinese style very much, noodles are very native and tasty as well, they are my style, an impressive food journey.

Great Sichuan food. The kind of place connoisseurs go to eat for authenticity.

Every time I am in Oxford, a visit to this restaurant is a must. I know Sichuan cuisine very well, but I have never eaten as well as here, at least in Europe. All dishes have their own individual taste and are incredibly delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. A recommendation for anyone who loves real Sichuan cuisine.

Excellent Sichuan restaurant, right by the bus station. In a city with so many students, including those from China, there has to be a restaurant where the country's cuisine is served. The Sichuan Grand occupies this spot. Each starter was very good with a different taste. The giblet salad was delicious. The fried fish in sweet and sour sauce as the main course was unbeatable in terms of crispiness. The restaurant is an absolute recommendation from me.

Excellent, authentic food, not only from Chongqing and Sichuan, but from Xinjiang and Dongbei as well. The service was also perfect. My only complaint is that they should put some curtains on the windows; several of them allow light directly onto diners faces right around lunch time.

Be careful - we enquired if a dish was vegetarian and were assured it was - only to find chicken skin in it - poor - they took the dish off the bill and apologised but that was the only concession - despite one very unhappy and upset customer

The food tasted great. It was worth every penny that I paid. The fried rice was well cooked and the lamb was tasty and spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

They kept us waiting at the entrance from 6pm to 6.30pm while there is no waitress coming to serve us! This restaurant is so rude. They are not busy at all, and we are so visible at the entrance. There are three groups of customers waiting to be served, but no one paid attention to us, no one come and say hello, no one not even gave us a glance. Two groups of customers, including us, have to leave with disappointments.

The food here is amazing, especially the fried rice. It tastes just like what I imagined it to be —— very authentic. I would love to come again!

Not so good. I’ve been here a number of times before and the food was ok. Tonight it was pretty shocking. It’s only 20:30 so still early but they seem to have given up. Really poor quality. Won’t be coming here again

Dropped in for a quick meal after the theatre and just ordered a selection of starters. Utterly delicious and far more authentic than any other Chinese I have been to. The lady who owns/runs the restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We will be back.

I gave 1 star merely because I cannot give minus stars. Despite this is a Chinese restaurant, the manager is racist against Chinese people. The story started with our negotiation with the manager about the bottle open fee. The manager was very arrogant and disrespected us. The manager kept ignoring us. In our very short conversation, the manager kept saying “you Chinese mainlanders always break rules in UK”. First of all, we did nothing wrong. Secondly, negotiation is custom’s right. Last but not the least, the cashier miscalculated our bill on purposes twice. In conclusion, this is a pure white-worship restaurant. If you are not white people, I strongly do not recommend it!

Waited too long for our table even though we'd booked. Menus just dumped on the table. Wife received wrong starter Waited 45 minuted for mains and the spring rolls order on the side turned up 10 minutes before Then they had the cheek to add on 10% service charge. That got removed sharpish. No, we won't be back.

Absolutely amazing place to eat Chinese food, we will be making a reservation for our next visit in Oxford, 10 of 10 for every single aspect of this meal, and this is coming from people who know and love great food!

Karaoke was good but the toilet was such a let down. One,if not the most disgusting toilet I have been to....and it tells a lot about the establishment.

Probably the most tasty Chinese restaurant in Oxford City Centre. My Sichuan Restaurant has been rebranded to Sichuan Grand. Rumour says the owner is changed to the same one as the Sichuan Grand in London and the menu is the same. We came in as a big group for a friend’s graduation party. Ordered quite a lot of dishes - probably 10-15. All of them taste very nice! The restaurant serves Sichuan cuisine, which is known for spicy food. So be prepared for some hot dishes. They also have some specialty in noodles. Definitely try their chicken sesame noodles! The service is a little on the hectic side, but they were really busy. I probably suggest to focus more on the taste than the service. I will come back!

We ordered food but it didn’t come after 30 mins. Surprisingly the table coming after us got the food and almost finished. It turned out that what we ordered was not really ordered. Understood it was busy, but it really impacted the experience. Later another lady (she was really helpful) had fixed the issue. The food there was quite good.

Loved Sichuan Grand! We were a big group of 25 (3 locals with Hong Kong university students that came for a summer programme), and all of us were treated really well by the staff. The food was excellent and the Hong Kong students especially loved eating here as they found it quite authentic. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. I would highly recommend coming here (especially with a big group of people) and would especially recommend ordering the smacked cucumber and the twice cooked pork slices.

Great hot pot, had the sour fish base - 酸菜鱼锅。 we had mostly shrimp paste 虾滑 and vegetables and soy products. Green veg selection is not wide and dipping sauce compared to Haidilao, a bit limited, Not bad for Oxford

Servers were welcoming and super kind. The food was very delicious, especially the mapo tofu. Food portions were quite generous. One downside was that a bowl of rice needed to be ordered separately.

Horrible experience. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and paying the check was impossible due to the lack of organization and lack of comprehension.

This mainland Chinese Sichuan food is OK.The feel is likely we are back to mainland Shenzhen from Hong Kong. The service sofar is OK mostly speak mandarin chinese. Sichuan Chinese food is good (Almost better then Shenzhen Sichuan restaurant). Price is OK. (這店比返大陸深圳食四川菜好食)

This place is good serves authentic Chinese food. Everything is good except the staff were very unprofessional and none of them speaks English except the manager (Andrew). They only give 10 percent off on the bill only to Chinese nationals not to any other's that's a bit kind of "RACIST" and everything served here is FROZEN for like weeks in their mega freezer and cooked twice and added ingredients. Higly not recommended for kids especially, but still few dishes served here are really tasty and good. I visited here more often for quick food. One of my colleagues worked here they highly recommended me not to dine here because nothing is fresh here everything here is frozen for weeks without any proper measures.

We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. The food was delicious, portions were on a larger side, service was adequate. Most importantly, the value was great.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at Sichuan Grand restaurant recently. The service was extremely poor and it had a negative impact on the overall dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were not greeted warmly or with any kind of hospitality. The staff seemed disinterested and unengaged, and our requests for recommendations or assistance were met with impatience. The food took an unusually long time to arrive at our table, and when it did, it was not up to par. The dishes were lukewarm, and some were not prepared properly, which led to a less than enjoyable meal. To make matters worse, the waitstaff seemed oblivious to our dissatisfaction, and it took us several attempts to get their attention to address our concerns. Overall, the service was very disappointing and left a negative impression of the restaurant. In conclusion, while the food at the Chinese restaurant may have been acceptable, the service was extremely poor and impacted the overall experience negatively. I would not recommend this restaurant to others due to the lack of attention to the customer's needs and the poor quality of service.

Bad food quality and taste. And they are selling alcohol without any license. The worst thing is that those alcohol are fake!!!!!!!!! Me and my friends got super headache after drinking their fake alcohol.!!!!!

Llevaba mucho tiempo buscando un lugar donde comer “hotpot” de nuevo tal y como lo probé por primera vez en Sidney. Mi pareja y yo decidimos darle la oportunidad a este sitio en San Valentín para cenar. Reservamos con tiempo y llegamos 30min antes de la reserva. Pese a que aún el restaurante no estaba lleno, tardaron bastante en atendernos. Aún viéndonos en la puerta esperando, pasaron largos minutos hasta que alguien se acercó a hablarnos. El menú es EXTENSO, y ni siquiera vi la opción de “hot pot” por ningún lado pese a ver las fotos en la reviews. Casi todo es picante y comida con vísceras. Entre que nos dieron la carta y nos sirvieron la comida, esperamos más de una hora. En esa hora, varios camareros nos atendieron. En definitiva, un descontrol. La comida no estaba mala pero tampoco vale lo que cuesta. Para lo que comimos, casi mejor hubiéramos pedido un take away y hubiéramos tardado mucho menos.

Haven't been to sichuan but the food seemed very authentic, it also came out lightning fast. There is an English menu but i get the feeling you may get better service (or can order secret menu) here if you speak mandarin...

Went to Sichuan Grand Oxford tonight, loved the hand ribbed noodles! Ate the veggie version - veggies were al dente, very delicious and the sauce is amazing! Highly recommend!

Excellent place for hotpot, we didn't order from the other menus but all of the food looked fantastic. There are three heat levels available for the hotpot of which we got normal, which is the middle option and of a pretty standard level of spice for Sichuanese hotpot. We also opted for two stock types as seen in the photo. Portion sizes for the hotpot are very good, everything was fresh and very tasty. The crispy pork and Dan Dan noodles were also very good. The service was also very good, the waiting staff are very attentive. The interior of the restaurant is also very nice and comfortable with plenty of tables. I'd recommend this place if you like hotpot and Sichuanese food, they also offer handmade noodles which looked fantastic.

I wished I was more local to the area - amazing food and super quick service! Hope to return with a larger group to try more!

Genuinely the worst dining experience I've ever had and on our anniversary. Menu looks exceptional however awful people and was overcharged. Will never visit again even if they do dan dan noodles.

Had a table booked for 8:30 - waited for half an hour in the restaurant to be seated and couldn’t even speak to a host, eventually gave up and went next door. Very odd, very rude

A bit pricey but the food was good !

Really love this restaurant. They try so hard to achieve a traditional Chinese restaurant atmosphere and really succeed. Yet amazingly they also keep the charm of this historic building. The food never disappoints and frankly is as authentic to food in China as I have seen in Britain. Really great and helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. It's not cheap but its not expensive either for what they offer. Highly recommended.

带娃来牛津转转，顺便探访了慕名已久的成都府。考虑到小朋友没法吃辣，给他们点了牛肉汤扯面，孩子们相当喜欢，强烈推荐。大人们点了沸腾鱼，水煮黄喉，爆炒腰花，大体来说味道算是正宗的，但黄喉几乎无味，比较失望。最后感觉没吃饱又补了一份过桥米线，汤的味道和米线的质感都很不错，推荐。总体来讲菜品比较多，味道也还算OK，但价格比较高。

跟朋友从伦敦过来牛津玩，路过成都府进来吃饭，第一感觉店面非常干净，点了几道菜吃了非常开心，口味很地道，朋友都赞不绝口，最重要服务也很到位，很亲切，以后还会再来。

服务态度可以，但是。。。 菜品又咸又油，一餐就能吃得钠超标。辣椒一点辣味都没有，而且个别菜品味道奇怪。担担面咸到发苦，还贼甜。上菜极慢，等了40分钟才上。 你以为我是辣到流汗，其实我是绷不住了😅

餐厅环境不错，但是菜品差强人意，点了香辣鸡胗和香辣猪蹄，来英国一年多头一次吃的我那么难受，一点点香辣配上起码加了两勺的糖。3.2￡一碗的饭只有两口。另外本来点了三道菜，一道小炒猪蹄上来以及我们全部吃完之后还没上，幸好双方同意一起取消。

I have been eating here weekly for a year 😂. Good Chinese food and quite authentic flavours. Close to central Oxford so very convenient. Menu choices can seem limited but the food is amazing. Strongly recommend their La Zi Ji and fish dishes. 10% off for payment in Cash or WeChat pay.

Great Chinese restaurant in Oxford! Stopped by for dinner and ordered a variety of dishes from the menu: Wonton noodle soup, Choi sum, Kung Pao chicken, some hand pulled noodles, fried rice, and pickled cucumber/peanut. They were all delicious and the staff members were friendly and helpful. Majority of their menu items are Szechuan spicy, but they can adjust the spiciness. You can also order many things that are not spicy. Overall a great experience and highly recommended if you are in the Oxford area and looking for more authentic Chinese food.
