I have visited this place 4 or 5 times with my partner. It has tasty and authentic food, with helpful and professional staff. Will defo be back soon for more hand pulled noodles and octopus tenticles 😄

Really enjoyed the spicy beef with tofu. The spice level was just right—not overly hot. The tofu was soft and flavorful, pairing nicely with the beef. Would order again.

Wonderful service and phenomenal food, would definitely recommend the hand pulled noodles absolutely deserving of these 5 stars. Our food came very quickly, as a group of 7 you’d expect the food to be delivered slower than usual, but this restaurant made quick work of all our separate orders. Also a very nice clean, peaceful environment. ☺️👍

Our family came from London and accidentally discovered this restaurant, which serves authentic Sichuan cuisine. The unexpected surprise was that the modified roujiamo was very delicious, and the Kung Pao shrimp balls are also recommended.

My boyfriend and I randomly picked a restaurant for dinner. I didn’t expect it to be so delicious! Go back home! You can taste the aroma of glutinous rice in brown sugar glutinous rice cake, which is much more delicious than pre-made dishes! Highly recommend the rice cake strips!

Spicy and delicious, super authentic! The boiled fish is tender and delicious, the spicy chicken is deliciously spicy, and the service is warm and thoughtful. The environment is clean and has Sichuan flavor. The price is affordable and the portions are sufficient. I will definitely come again!

It is a very famous Chinese restaurant in Oxford. I ordered grilled fish with my friends. It tasted very authentic, and the brown sugar glutinous rice cake was also very delicious!

The taste is as good as ever, I will go back to China in a year! The boss is very enthusiastic. He has hot water every time he comes and even gives birthday noodles on birthdays.

I booked here for a birthday dinner out with girl friends. The building is a lovely old building, but looks to need tidying up a bit. We were welcomed and shown to a table, the room was nice, a pretend fire, the room was rather cold, other diners were wearing their coats! Very cold. Lots of menus to choose from-a noodle menu, one on the wall, a big “proper” one, then another stood on the table. We waited for a long time to have our order taken, so long that I went to find someone, the chap said that at 4pm it’s their lunch time so they were all on a break. So I would highly recommend not to visit during 4-5, (although they state they are open and we did pre book a table) We ordered, honey bbq pork, beef in black bean, chicken fried rice, mixed veg chow mein & chicken chow mein. The food was the best Chinese food all of us have ever tasted, the honey bbq pork and black bean sauce were really really good, once we did order the food did come quickly, it was lovely and hot too. Shame the service was below par. If I was in Oxford again, I would get a takeaway (if they do them) but I wouldn’t dine in again.

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever been in. First, at 9 o'clock, the manager looked at his watch. Then we were seated in the annexe without a drink and left there. We'd just made up our minds to go, coats half on and over came the waiter. We should of left. The food was an expensive, greasy mess.

We came in at the busiest time possible, from what the waiter told us, but the food more than made up for it. My friends and I had been craving some authentic Sichuan food and the noodles really hit the spot. The service was quite slow, though it appears that the restaurant was a little understaffed for such a high demand. I thoroughly enjoyed the tea and the hand-pulled noodles were excellent. Definitely a great spot if you need authentic Chinese food and tea.

The food here is scrumptious! We had the beer braised duck, hot & sour noodle and 2 veggies. We polished them all and added a dessert. The taste of the food is very authentic sichuan. The service was very good too. The waiters attentive and accommodating, suggested accommodating veggie dishes since we wanted veggie dishes. Overall, very pleasant staff. It was a pity that we only stayed in Oxford for 3 nights and had to move around the area a bit. We would have gone back to this place for meals if we had the time.

I ordered beef noodles there was 2 thin slices of beef then all chilli so very disappointing all I could taste was chilli I had diarrhoea for three days! Do not eat here unless you’re constipated!

Just ordered and left so can’t say anything about the the service inside but…my food So disappointed with it. £10.90 for this Special fried rice which tasted boiled. More egg then chicken just chicken no beef or pork two prawns no oyster sauce. Really won’t be spending my dosh in there again. Wouldn’t mined if it was decent

The boiled fish was too bad. The fish was not fresh but packaged Longli fish. The chili and Sichuan peppercorn oil were not warm enough and were not fried thoroughly. There was no spicy taste at all. Hope it improves!

I brought ingredients for processing. A friend came here before and the store raised prices. The store bullied customers, played with customers' emotions, and didn't know how to do business.

As other reviews have pointed out, not good for vegetarians. My noodle soup had bits of meat in it even after I clarified multiple times that I wanted vegetarian. What's more, it wasn't even as flavorful as one would like. I've spent time in Sichuan and the flavors at this restaurant are not it.

Very bad experience overall. Not only was the service shockingly poor but I also witnessed a sign of racial discrimination in this restaurant. This restaurant treat people with different races differently! I was dining with my friends this evening and two Asian girls was sitting next to us and brought in two bubble tea with them. This restaurant doesn’t allow customers to bring their own drinks so one waiter warned the two girls that they cannot drink their bubble tea and they said yes. HOWEVER, after this warning the waiter very rudely brought two plastic bags and tried to cover their drinks in a very impolite manner! These two girls are shocked and confused because they didn’t drink after the waiter told them about the rules!! This whole process was very rude and disrespectful and you can tell that the waiter didn’t respect these two Asian girls. As a Chinese, I truly feel sorry for how this Chinese restaurant treat people!

We were a large group of 20+ who preordered some set dishes for a Friday dinner. Andrew was really helpful about ensuring we had the exact preorder we wanted and getting that all ready precisely. It was very easy to put together a menu to suit a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. We were sat across three large tables in a side room with no other parties, so it was essentially like having our own function room where our party could mingle and move around without feeling like we might be upsetting other diners, so this was really ideal and made for a wonderful atmosphere. The food was fantastic with generous portions. The light/cold dishes are always a highlight here for me and I would strongly encourage be adventurous with these if you generally stick to hot dishes only. The rest of our party commented that the meal was fantastic with many different highlights. Andrew was extremely helpful in letting us settle the bill as suited us but in hindsight I think we caused him a lot of stress and we will be more organised next time! Overall this is a fabulous choice for a very large group, the team are very capable with turning out a banquet-style meal.

Was nice food but too many menus, literally like 3 or 4 different menus to read through. Not many options for people who are vegetarian either.

There are a couple of things that make this restaurant special: First off, the food — especially the hand pulled noodles were a real treat, as were the size of portions served. This place came recommended by a mainland Chinese student and did not disappoint. We had a number of noodle dishes, spring rolls as well as various hot desserts and jasmine tea. All equally good — you also know you’re in the right place when all the other tables around you are occupied by mandarin speakers. Second, when we left one of us forgot something at the place and the manager ran half way across Gloucester green to catch up with us. Taking their food as serious as their service. It was the perfect place for a piping hot and hearty spicy meal with fellow speakers at an event. Informal enough to let the conversation flow yet good in a way that meant we also got replenished after a long day of debating. Can’t wait to go back for all the other dishes and thanks again for taking such good care of us!

Excellent Sichuan restaurant, right by the bus station. In a city with so many students, including those from China, there has to be a restaurant where the country's cuisine is served. The Sichuan Grand occupies this spot. Each starter was very good with a different taste. The giblet salad was delicious. The fried fish in sweet and sour sauce as the main course was unbeatable in terms of crispiness. The restaurant is an absolute recommendation from me.

Every time I am in Oxford, a visit to this restaurant is a must. I know Sichuan cuisine very well, but I have never eaten as well as here, at least in Europe. All dishes have their own individual taste and are incredibly delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. A recommendation for anyone who loves real Sichuan cuisine.

Excellent, authentic food, not only from Chongqing and Sichuan, but from Xinjiang and Dongbei as well. The service was also perfect. My only complaint is that they should put some curtains on the windows; several of them allow light directly onto diners faces right around lunch time.

Be careful - we enquired if a dish was vegetarian and were assured it was - only to find chicken skin in it - poor - they took the dish off the bill and apologised but that was the only concession - despite one very unhappy and upset customer

They kept us waiting at the entrance from 6pm to 6.30pm while there is no waitress coming to serve us! This restaurant is so rude. They are not busy at all, and we are so visible at the entrance. There are three groups of customers waiting to be served, but no one paid attention to us, no one come and say hello, no one not even gave us a glance. Two groups of customers, including us, have to leave with disappointments.

Dropped in for a quick meal after the theatre and just ordered a selection of starters. Utterly delicious and far more authentic than any other Chinese I have been to. The lady who owns/runs the restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We will be back.
