Victoria's Tea Rooms in Pendle

Myself and my son visited this restaurant after a long drive from Bristol we found this establishment by chance on a walk around the town with our Labrador who was allowed inside the restaurant we decided on a tea and a coffee accompanied by scones and cakes the cake selection was so good we decided on indulging in a selection of cakes as takeaway A truly amazing experience

Stay clear bad mannered staff clueless about customer Service and very rude individuals that are delusional to say the least sat down and watched staff take Menus to others who arrived after us had to get my own took over half hour to tell us that what we orders didn’t have some of the items . I will never return to this place it’s poor from the food To The service and is Overpriced

Called in for a drink and snack and really enjoyed. Very pleasant place with excellent coffee and I had a very good toasted teacake with jam. Would certainly go again if in Barwick

This place was a much needed stop on a bike packing trip. I arrived somewhere around lunchtime soaked through, cold and miserable from a 2hr+ downpour riding up from Hebden Bridge. I was greeted with a smile and immediately offered a cup of tea, they offered food but I asked if I could have a dessert, seeing me shivering they told me they do hot desserts. Heaven! I don't know what they do as I went with the first option of sticky toffee pudding. It was delicious, I wish I ordered two. Thank you for making that day's ride to Settle that little bit more bearable. And thank you to the couple who gave up their radiator table for me to warm up at.

I only called in for a drink but staff so welcoming. I had a very good coffee but must admit they have a great selection of cakes. Pity I had just eaten. Would certainly go again if in town

Called for brunch and was welcomed by a charming waitress, Adele, seated quickly and offered a menu straight away. Ordered our food and were eating within 15 mins. s . Food very tasty and filling and very reasonably priced. A great little find and sure to revisit in the near future.

Victoria’s has been a favourite of ours for years .Booked for lunch last Friday- friendly efficient waitress showed us to our reserved table., my husband had the 3 egg omelette and I had the plate meat pie. Both meals were excellent . Good value for money. Always worth a phone call to book a table .

After a lovely but challenging walk through wind and mud, my family and I googled this and what a great find. A fair few tables had been reserved which suggests it's popular here. Very friendly staff, lovely service. Great breakfast, lovely drinks and very pleasant. Still felt full in the evening. Will definitely revisit.

Absolutely fantastic again. Victoria tea rooms provided us with afternoon tea for our office party. It was beyond expectation and a bargain. Tasted scrumpy and we all loved. We will definitely be ordering again. Thank you Victoria tea rooms 😊

We had stopped wanting a snack on a very long walk. We sat outside in the brilliant sunshine when we realised there wasn't anything other than chips on the menu for vegans. However the staff assured us they could rustle something up and they did. A yummy vegan cheese and onion toastie with salad and vegan peri peri mayo! It was just what the doctor ordered and gave us the energy for the long walk back. Thank you guys

Visited for Afternoon Tea as we liked the look of the photos we saw and we wasn’t disappointed. All 3 of us agreed this was the best Afternoon Tea we had eaten. It was a lovely mix of sweet and savoury and very filling and unlimited drinks, for £13 was an absolute bargain. Add the fact that the the staff were very friendly and attentive I can really recommend this place as the other food on the menu also looked very tasty.

Waited over 40 minutes for service. 2 staff said they would be with us in 'a minute' . Eventually a menu arrived. I indicated I would like to give my order straight away but got a rude esponse.. Left without eating. Bought a lovely filled roll in a neighbouring sandwich bar and sat in the sun

I took my gran and my mum for lunch for my grans birthday, the service was really good very welcoming and friendly staff. The food came well presented, huge portion and looked very appetising. The food lived up to expectations and was great, a good price for a lovely lunch! Thank you we will be back!

Been for breakfast twice now within two weeks, very good and very cheap. As I work within hospitality myself I could tell the staff cared about there customers and where very professional. Only bad thing was the mushrooms on the breakfast where a bit greasy but for the price I wasn't bothered as still a lot better then other places

My son and I visited during the help to eat out scheme. Although the restaurant was extremely busy we were seated and our orders taken. Food and drinks came quickly and the food was extremely good value, plentiful & tasty. The staff were efficient & pleasant and we will definitely return.

My partner and I were treated to a spot of lunch by my parents today. First time for us but the 'rents had raved about it for a long time on their many visits by canal boat to the area.The food was delicious. Home cooked and generous portions with so much to choose from. The service was spot on too, very friendly and looked after us so well, even during these Covid19 times. All social distancing and government guidelines well in place and adhered to. The processes they have in place work well and visitors are clearly instructed on what to do. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone, top class hearty homecooked food, friendly service and very reasonably priced. Will be back!

Oh my!!! One of the best afternoon teas we’ve had. Such good value for money, beautiful home made savoury and sweet items. Can’t recommend enough, and can’t wait to return to try the normal menu items as the food that fellow diners were having looked great! Lovely girls serving on, so welcoming and friendly. Shame it’s not dog friendly as my dog comes everywhere with me, but I’m sure I will be returning either without pooch or to sit outside in the warmer months. Definitely recommend! Well worth a visit! :-)

Generous with portions, very busy, greeted by a lovely selection of cakes. Quite a lot of choice available, lots of specials too, I had a flat bread with chicken bacon and avocado, lots of side plates in tow, ( tortilla chips, coleslaw and salad) toppings generous and tasted great. Bought a couple of cakes to take home as too good to leave.

Popped in for a coffee and a snack, server not really interested in making sure I was happy. Other customers were also snapped at by the server. Plus a cafe in 2020 with zero wifi. I wont be back.

What a lovely friendly café. Called in for a snack, had toasted teacake followed by scone with butter, cream and jam ...the best way and large mug of cappuccino. Very friendly staff nice relaxed atmosphere lots of homemade cakes on offer . Food was very good coffee also good . It's in the square so it's also possible to sit outside in better weather . I shall be returning

Fantastic tasty fresh food whenever we come in, and lovely friendly staff. An excellent asset to the lovely town of Barnoldswick. We will be back again soon.

Stumbled across this lovely little place whilst in Cromer and we are so glad we did. The service is excellent and so is the food. They even catered for gluten free. We will definitely be back

Decent food served by friendly staff and at a most reasonable price. Outside seating available with no passing traffic, good location. Recommended.

Eaten here a couple of times....Salads are exquisite. Only downside is I have to sit outside because I have a dog...& because of that the server sometimes forgets your there. I understand shes busy...but plz just remember us outside diners then it would be 5 stars all the way

Sat for 40 minutes at the outside tables, asked waitress twice for a latte told she would be with us shortly. Never came , then after 40 minutes came up to me and said if I was not ordering I could not sit there! unbelievable .. avoid

One of my favourite places. I come here regularly and I'm never disappointed. Great vegetarian choice. Best to book as it gets very busy.

Just got back from taking my parents for afternoon tea (summer menu) - it was superb and possibly the best we've ever had! Far more food than we could comfortably manage in one sitting, tasted amazing and beautifully presented. In fact, there is so much food, they bring the cream scone afterwards once you have made room, along with takeaway boxes for anything you can't finish there. Even though it seemed busy, with a constant turnaround of tables, service was outstanding, with tea and coffee being delivered on request and still hot. Decaf coffee was proper ground and tasted great, although instant was available if you preferred.

Had lunch today on a visit to this lovely town. If your not too hungry don’t visit here as the portions are big and service first class. You need to book and the lively Adele got us a lovely window seat. Will definitely go again.

We have visited this cafe several times because it's consistently good. Everything on the menu sounds great making it hard to choose! The food is very reasonably priced and service is fast. Food is well presented and delivers on taste. Lovely staff!

Booked a table for lunch [ recommended ] super menu with specials on assorted blackboards , decided on a ' Christmas sandwich ' arrived promptly and was lovely , fantastic choice of cakes on offer too . all portions are generous :)

Myself, my lil one n my mum n dad had lunch the other day n we all had a really good time. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is a wide choice of food which is cooked to order & the cakes are all homemade of the best quality ( the almond slices are world class ). It's a very bright & clean cafe with pleasant a & helpful staff. If you are in the area it's certainly worth a visit

Stopped for an impromptu lunch and was really impressed with the hospitality and quality of food. A very impressive garnish came with the sandwiches and service was excellent.

Thought I would call in here for a coffee after my trip to the doctors surgery. no greeting from anyone. sat waiting for about 25 mins. eventually someone came over to take my order, no apologies or anything. waited about another 10 minutes for my coffee and the girl just put it on the table and walked off talking to someone else, no smiles, greeting, apologies anything! A couple walked in and got a hello and served within 5 minutes, I felt so angry and frustrated. Service is dismal here, there are plenty of other cafes in this town that have a lovely service with a smile and I will not be calling here again I'm afraid, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Called in with the family for a bite to eat. There was a warm welcome on a very cold day. The food choice was fantastic and the service excellent. The meals we had were very tasty and really filling. I will definitely be calling in again

Victoria's is always busy so book.The large interesting menu changes often and the food is very good value and always good. The downside is sometimes the wait to be served can be too long and they could do with more than one toilet.

This is a cafe where they come to the table to take your order - I like that. It takes a bit more effort from the staff but brings a much more friendly feel to the place.

This is a lovely café we always visit, have been in a few times this month. It has always been heavily reserved meaning we have to book or have no chance of getting a table. It is always clean with very helpful staff. Meals have always been nice with even my daughter eating most of her food. Lovely side salad full of fruit, would like to see more like this elsewhere. Only down side was my panini filling wasn't actually in the panini but was lovely all the same. They have some lovely cakes too but all a bit on the large side for my liking really. kids meals were great too especially coming with squash I thought was a good touch. Nothing was too much bother and all staff were very helpful. Would recommend

My wife & her best friend took me here after they had been before & wow they where not wrong for once. The food ,service & value for money was superb. Try the hot beef baguette. The best I've had. Will definitely be back

Called in for a cuppa and a cake after walking from Barnoldswick to Nelson and getting the bus back. Wow did they both refresh the parts that needed refreshing. The lemon and blueberry drizzle cake was to die for and the tea was life saving.

A typical cafe in the center of this village, serving really good home cooked food at reasonable prices, the cakes are to die for.

We had the very good fortune to dine in this wonderful tea room. It is the best food we have been served in a long time.The staff are so pleasant nothing is too much trouble and the desserts are to die for,all home made.The prices are great tooOn some reviews they have given one star or two and I can only think that we were in a different tea room,please this place is a gem!!! I only wish that we lived nearer so we could visit on a regular basis but we will be visiting again that is for sure

We were staying at a local caravan site and we walked along the canal especially to have lunch here! We sat outside, as we had the dog with us, but the service was still good! The staff are all friendly, the food was served quickly and was presented beautifully! The food was all delicious. I had a wrap from the new summer menu and it was lovely, I especially liked the summer side salad with strawberries and kiwi! My husband had the homemade mince and onion pie and he thoroughly enjoyed it! Can't wait for a return visit soon! We need to try one of the many delicious looking cakes! First time 45 minuets before there closing time only wanting drink and cake.We were to much trouble trying to stack tables and chairs around us very unpleasant. The second time my partners daughter wanted to treat me to lunch so we went in, it was busy I had the home made steak pie. I normally eat my food but it was like bad Motorway food that had been under heat for hours dried out and very poor. I left it not wanting to make a fuss because of the situation. I will never go there again.

Had breakfast here and enjoyed it very much. Big portions at very reasonable prices. Nice big airy room, good service too. Sadly we didn't have room for any cake which looked delicious.

I use the Tea Rooms regularly as a stopping point for a morning brunch or afternoon tea, Situated in the centre of the town overlooking the community square you can sit and watch the world go. The tea rooms offers and extensive menu of breakfast and lunch time food and everything has that home made taste about it. The service is with a smile and the atmosphere is always friendly. A great meet up place for the young mums and dads and retired folks for a catch up, a brew and a choice of the most amazing cakes and buns.

A group of biking friends stopped by at the tea rooms. Very good choice of food and very helpful & friendly service and good value. Will return.

We were shopping in Barnoldswick today, needed a drink and some lunch. We saw Victoria tearooms, it was full of people. We were greeted with a smile and a cheerful hello. The menu is amazing, so varied and good value. We had a huge pot of tea and a sandwich. The cake table was groaning with such lovely large portions of cake. We had to try one. The staff were really friendly, asked several times if we were ok. It's really an old fashioned tea shop, but fantastic. It's an absolute must to visit and enjoy an hour over a drink and a hot or cold meal. A place not to be missed. Keep up the good work.

We were impressed by the lunches - Full English Breakfast and Cheese & Onion Pie. The food was very filling and tasty. Americano coffee was a tad strong for my taste, so will try a weaker version next time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend to friends and return.

Stumbled on this by chance - worth a visit. Staff are wonderful and food is very good. Good selection of meals and cakes. Only called for a sausage sandwich and tea but it was very enjoyable and it is so reasonably priced - 80p per person for tea!!!

We went after a morning shopping for a new oven in the nearby Esse factory. The cafe was clean, service was excellent. We had 2 big breakfasts and a hot panini. The food was excellent, amazing value for what we had £20 for the three of us including drinks. Can't fault the place, even had some Christmas cake to take out!! Cake choice was incredible, all looked home made. Amazing can't fault the place. Will make a special journey to come back!

Something on the menu for everyone here, full breakfast being my fav. The selection of home made cakes is lovely so if you are a cake lover this is the place to go.Staff are great,friendly and helpful.

I came here as I had a couple of hours to kill whilst my van was being tuned locally. What a gem of a tea room this place is! Wonderful, welcoming staff, really good coffee, all at a really competitive price. Highly recommended

Popped in here for a quick lunch and we both decided on the special salads - I had salmon, hubby had chicken & chorizo. Whilst the portion sizes were huge and the main ingredients were delicious & fresh I was slightly bemused to find a basic fruit salad in with he salmon, prawns, lettuce, cucumber, tomato & peppers - a wedge of melon & kiwi fruit & a bunch of strawberries were also included! I guess that's one way to get your 5 a day sorted! Tasty though

After walking into the centre of Barnoldswick on a lovely warm Saturday afternoon, we decided to stop for a coffee, big mistake, we spotted these tea rooms and thought mmmm nice place for a coffee, should have gone elsewhere, listening to the waitress, a young slip of a thing, telling a customer he couldn't have an 'all day breakfast' because the cook wanted to clean the kitchen, it was only 2pm, he said is there anything I can have that's cooked! It went down hill from there, despite being asked to take a seat outside and somebody would be with us very soon, we sat down and another couple sat down at the table next to ours, they were served before us!! It was quite busy that day, the market was on, it was warm and sunny, a lovely day to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or two! Only two members of staff were on, not good enough, don't think we will be frequenting said tea rooms again!

Menu changes for time of year offering variety all year round. The staff always seem very busy but try their best to give good service. The food is great and portions sizes are very large. The only downside is that as it's always busy there aren't always seats available. So book in advance if you can.

Upon arriving (two adults, two 3 year olds and a baby), and after booking a table for 11.30am the day before, we were greeted by a very bolshy waitress who was adamant we had booked for 12. I had made the booking to fit in with my 7 week old daughter's feed at 11.30 who was making it very well known that she was ready for her feed by crying. The waitress was very loud and made it clear she wasn't happy about having to deal with getting a table and was extremely rude to the other guests. She told us someone was still sat at our table and we would have to wait until they had gone, all within earshot of the guests at said table which made it very awkward. I explained I needed to feed the baby so she managed to find us a table. We were then rudely told that someone had booked that table for 12.30 so we only had an hour! I understand that tables need to be turned but we shouldn't be made to feel unwelcome and rushed just because my booking wasn't booked in correctly. The food was, as always, excellent and the rest of the staff were lovely. My son made a game of organising the sauce sachets to keep himself occupied and we got on with having our lunch. The thing that annoyed me the most and led to me deciding to write this review was the same bolshy waitress telling one of the other waitresses that she hates it when children mess with the sachets and it annoys her as we were leaving and they were clearing the table. I am in no way precious of my parenting and if my son was misbehaving I would hold my hands up but he was simply keeping himself occupied. Would they rather he ran riot in the shop?!?It is such a shame that this one lady turned a lovely lunch into an unpleasant experience.

Having come across this lovely tearoom by chance last year, we planned a diversion to our journey so we could call in. We had a really super meal - great homemade pastry on the pie. And an amazing selection of really delicious cakes and puddings to choose from. It was very hard to make a final decision. Margaret who looked after us was extremely nice and friendly and very hard-working. Nothing was too much trouble. She wiped our table down without being asked, offered us glasses of water (and refills), brought a jug of boiling water with our coffees in case we might want some ... We'll definitely be back. It was smashing!

Sunny day so my friend and I sat at one of the outside tables, in spite of the waitress attending the table next to ours we sat for over 30 minutes without being served. When we went inside to ask for service we were told that we should have asked sooner. The waitress then came to take our order, no apology, and surly, she then took a filthy cloth and wiped the table leaving a greasy film. we decided to leave without staying for coffee.

I visit here on a regular basis when meeting up with friends or just call in f I r a cuppa whilst shopping with family. The staff are lovely, very welcoming and helpful, Siobhan stands out as very cheerful and happy to help.The menu is extensive with choice to suit many also cater for diet choices and allergies, I would highly recommend to others.

Always looks busy but they will squeeze you in if they can. Called in for a cup of tea and a cake one afternoon. The cake selection is fabulous and we both were torn which to choose. After much deliberation we opted for 2 different cakes, the orange and white chocolate, and the Sunbeam cake. There was a good choice of different teas too. When the cakes came, the pieces were massive and every mouthful was eaten with gusto with lots of appreciative noises following. We both left with a smile on our faces and licking our lips. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were very friendly. Will be looking for excuses to go to Barnoldswick again very soon.

Visited last Saturday with my partner, we both had the full English. Plenty on the plate, both struggled to finish it off. The coffee was very good and the waitress was very friendly.

My family visited this tea rooms as we had heard good things and it always seems to be full when passing by! Deeply regret coming in here! The food was overpriced and barely anything on my plate, I ordered a crispy chilli beef panini and there was literally three overcooked pieces of beef on it! The underside of the plate was covered in mash from what he had placed over my daughters plate, when I asked them to clean it they gave me a dirty look, didn't apologise and didn't even wipe the table. To top it all off I had a THICK black hair in my food which put me off all together! It's safe to say me and my family will never eat here again.

I've had a table booked every Thursday for lunch over the last 10 months Great English food a superb menu choice pleasant service from the helpful staff and the price is so very very reasonable.If you want great food at great prices Victoria Cafe is a must.Suggest you book in advance.

Went in first of all for a pot of tea - great tea and only £1.25! Booked a table for lunch - definitely need to, apparently, most days. Returned later for something off the 'winter menu', again well worth it and if you can manage it, 'go large'. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and will go again.
