Victoria Park Pub in Cardiff

We hired the function room for a funeral wake. The venue was excellent - clean, light and airy - a very functional space. The buffet was very nice and good value for money. What really made the venue special was the staff. Emma the manager really went out of her way to make things as easy as possible for us and meet all our requirements. We would also like to thank Matthew and Rhianne for all their hard word. We highly recommend the Victoria Park Hotel. Chris and Jan Perry

Always call in here when we're in the big City! Always a welcome from the excellent barman and a catch up on the Valleys! Their pint of IPA beers is the best I've ever had, Always consistent! See you soon!

The food was amazing I had been there before. The staff were great too but one lady treated me and my friend terribly after I asked her nicely to clean the table we were on as it had 2 empty pint glasses and a used napkin on. The attitude she gave me when I asked (soo nicely) I could sense and her attitude towards us was terrible after that. I always make sure I’m polite to people that work in hospitality because I do so myself and understand the workload. I say my please and thank you’s. Maybe it was a bad day for her I don’t know but once we finished our food we went into the beer garden and my friend left her drink (pint of Pepsi) on the table that had not been touched. We came back within 5 minutes and it was gone. My friend said to the staff member that she wasn’t done with her drink and she said “You should’ve put a beer mat on it love” in the rudest way possible. Make all the excuses you want but any decent person would’ve apologised and replaced the drink or atleast apologised genuinely. I have also never heard of anyone say to put a beer mat on your drink if you don’t want it picked up lol. This just confirmed that we weren’t welcome so we left because it was just very unwelcoming from the moment I asked for the table to be cleaned even though it’s her j o b. Probably won’t be returning because of this as she was giving us a bad attitude the whole time but the food is ten out of ten but don’t expect to feel welcomed x She was not there the last time I went and I had a pleasant experience the last time. The rest of the staff were lovely and they were lovely last time as well.

Been there twice has they advertise Prosecco on offer but both times going there on a Friday never got them in stock but do have the more expensive Prosecco mmm . I dont normally complain but this is a big chain and 7 o clock on a Friday and not one bottle of the offer Prosecco was available ? mmm .

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with my husband, delicious. Great roast potatoes good value. Couldn't fault the lunch. Staff very helpful.

Tried booking for new years eve but told not taking bookings. Turned up early to get a table only to be told by the young man behind the bar we had to move as table was booked. Not happy but agreed as long as there was a table for us. Older gent with dark hair behind bar came over and apologised and had a really good chat. He is the only reason you aren't getting a 1 star review. He even made his way around the pub at midnight to wish everyone a happy new year. Something I thought the landlady should be doing but he more than made up for it.

We visited for Sunday lunch, the pub wasn’t too busy and very clean. Good choice on the menu, good to see such variety of vegetarian options. Good quality food for such a small price.Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff!Lee a member of the management is a credit to the pub, excellent people skills. The waitress was smiley and polite, very refreshing.We will visit again, thank you.
