My Dad loves 'proper' pubs and this excels. Having only just found this gem, myself/Dad have been twice in the last month and cannot rate it highly enough. The food is excellent (certainly beyond pub grub), the staff are welcoming and engaging and the atmosphere is homely and vibrant. I cannot recommend this place enough and it is always busy meaning others must feel the same way. Thanks to the staff, particularly Lorna and John. We'll be back soon

Food was lovely, it was the reason we visited. We were sick of pub chains and the same old standard food. Food came hot fresh and tasty (all but the veg which was obviously reheated to the point my beans were wrinkled but nobody visits for the veg) . However if visiting with children I wouldn't again as we were made to feel unwelcome. My suggestion would be to either put a time or age limit on when/which children are allowed or simply don't allow children. Which is fine but don't provide a kids menu if you don't really want them to visit.

Ate here as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely place, great customer service, and fantastic food. Had the lamb rump which was melt in the mouth, with dauphinois potatoes which were cooked to perfection. Why can’t all pubs serve food of this quality?

A must visit for "non-fussy" foodies. So lets get the menu out of the way- an ever changing wall of chalk boards in the bar area, which seems to offer around 7 meat, 7 veggie/vegan, 7 mixed starters/sharers, 7 desserts and a selection of light bite options. Awesome!! Having said that my partner who is a Veggie who doesn't like vegetables has always been able to find something that she fancies. Their sunday dinners are brilliant but i would also recommend visiting on a mid week evening for something a little different where you can't be sure what is going to be on the menu, but you can be sure to recieve a plate of delicious homecooked food which will fill you up, washed down by a tasty pint or two. Loads of covered outside seating next to the train station platform, the indoor tables can get quite full, even though there are loads of tables and rooms its a popular spot and rightly so. I hope they keep doing what they are doing because its a treat to enjoy.

We like the Victoria alot. We live some distance from The Victoria so we don't as often as we would like. So bank holiday Sunday we decided to pay a visit. I had the mussels and TOH had the Tomoto and Mozzerala Tart. Both dishes were as usuall very nice. For me first time that I've been served mussels with a knife and fork. I did ask for a spoon so I could eat the sauce but our server must have forgot as I had to go back up. Also I didn't get another dish to put the empty shells anywhere. We got the feeling that our server didn't want to be there. On the whole despite that we had a pleasent early evening. Nice selection of beers especially with a tasting paddle.

Having stayed over due to work commitments I ventured round to this old fashioned gem. Staff were very pleasant and shows they take pride in the service and quality of food they provide. The service was very efficient after placing order at the bar. There is a great choice of ales and range of food on offer. Would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent old fashioned pub. Great for real ales, also nice selections of wine. Food is always superb, great choice for vegetarian or vegan; and always something a bit different. It’s not for you if you like freezer to fryer burgers and chips, but if you want fresh cooked food with no fries in site then visit.

Quaint and well designed interior that provides a warm and welcoming environment. Great choices of real ales. Whilst I am not a whisky drinker the selection on show was incredible, dozens and dozens of different malts available. The food was first rate, generous portions, pipping hot and very tasty. Also liked the 'No Mobiles' rule - encouraged chat and conversation.

Everyone knows there's a local pub to be had in England. If you're ever in Nottingham, check this one out. The Victoria Inn is an experience in both food, entertainment and company. Live Jazz was being presented later that night. Four of us sat down at an outside picnic table. It was a lovely evening. Inside most of the tables were taken. You can start off with any kind of drink you like, beer, wine, lemonade etc. Then you're stuck with trying to decide which of the many dishes on the menu, you're going to order. Two of us had the Jerk Chicken, one the Roasted Pork and I had a Moussaka. Our plates arrived just loaded. We had to order some more beer to help wash it all down. The service was friendly and quick. The price even better. Don't miss this place and the British Pub tradition in Nottingham.

I was very happy to find this pub while staying in Beeston. It had an excellent assortment of real ales, a large beer garden, and a great selection of menu items. This place is busy for a reason.

The vic has become my solid local - real ale, excellent selection of largers, spirits and some of the more unusual Belgian/European high strength beers. All drinks more the reasonable prices also compared to the surrounding area. I particular enjoy the outside area, directly adjacent to beeston railway station (literally on the platform) - unusual but makes for a unique experience. Food I feel slightly let's it down, rotational selection of British/European and international dishes but variable quality - and for the price there's better pub food out there in the vicinity. Important to mention, excellent management - make you feel at home and go out of there way to accommodate.

We don't visit "The Vic" very often, but when we do we always enjoy ourselves. There's an excellent selection of beers from local cask ales to continental draft and bottled beers. The food is great and all freshly prepared - the "wall of specials" is very tempting and changes regularly.Parking's a bit tricky, but the pub is within staggering distance of Beston Station.

Sabor promedio. Definitivamente no molestará de nuevo.

Booked for lunch for 2 and was surprised when entering a seemingly deserted place (no customers). Shown to the table of our choice. I ordered pulled pork terrine with onion relish and sourdough toast - absolutely delicious (might have preferred thinner slices of toast). For the main I ordered beer battered cod sandwich with fries and a portion of curry sauce. Fries were excellent, as was the cod sandwich (comprised of 2 cod pieces in batter with mayonnaise and a bed of minted peas all in a brioche bun). Too much to eat but excellent cooking.
