Arrow in Gedling

Attended a 60th birthday party on 9/11/2024 which was being held upstairs away from the other pub customers that were down stairs .Then come 10pm a member of staff came upstairs and told the hosts of the party that all children under seventeen had to leave this establishment as football had now finished .Did staff at this pub think we were having a party so we could watch football and also as the legal drinking age is 18 why was only under 17 years old asked to leave .May I also add that none of the children at this party running about and being disruptive to customers down stairs the only time they went down stairs was either to go with their parents to the bar or visit the rest rooms .So for the life of me cannot understand why children were asked to leave This was upsetting for several children and left many parents trying to arrange transport home at such short notice and may I add some of us do not live in Nottingham itself .I this is your policy then I suggest when people book your rooms for parties you make them aware of the 10pm rule ,and many thanks (not) for ruining a wonderful ladies 60th birthday party

This pub was booked for my 60th birthday 🎂. And everything was going fine ,until we were told anyone under the age of seventeen woukd have to leave. When the football finished at 10pm.This was a private party. And all my family had children. On the time of booking,my husband and daughter where never told this. Has they wouldn't of booked. I have never been to a private party and children been asked to leave. And if this is your policy,you should of made my husband aware of it. We come here on many occasions for birthdays and other events with 15 and twenty people . But I will not be coming back. And I do hope as a business you look at,explaining to people when booking your rooms,you explain clearly. My grandchildren ,nieces and nephews were very upset ,has was I and I feel very disappointed with this establishment.

Stood at the bar wos ignored by the staff 3 locals wos served befor me so sead forget it if you don't won't to seve me as me and my partner wos leving the barmade sead I wos going to serve you next I sead wot about the 3 ppl that wos served befor me too little to late and we left herd nice things about this pub obviously not tru they seem to clicky with the regulars

Been to the refurbished Arrow several times since the refurb and closure of the nearby Friar Tuck. Everything is very nice, staff are helpful and friendly. Food is good with bargain prices, not sure though if these will last, could be just re-opening offers. Now the bad news I am disabled and am wondering who had the bright idea of placing disabled parking spaces at the foot of a flight of steps??? If you have no mobility problems I would certainly recommend.

First time visiting since the big refurb. Pub looks great, a bit cramped in the restaurant area, bit of a squeeze for the waitresses to get past some chairs when occupied but it all looked lovely & staff great! My only issue is where the disabled parking spaces have been situated. Instead of being near the front door, they are situated around the back with the nearest entrance being up a big flight of steps! Obviously for someone with mobility issues that isn't an option which means walking around to the front which again isn't ideal as no direct path to the front entrance. Great refurb though!

Great food, There was a wait on food , but was told that when ordering, was extremely busy, Looks lovely inside after the refit.

Very cheap prices, lovely food and came quickly. We had two mains, two sides and drinks for just over £20! Great service by Rocket as well!

Unfortunately our first choices on the menu weren't available but it was explained that they had originally planned to be closed that week for a refurb so stock was low but I was not disappointed with my fish and chips. Absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. The waitress was attentive and very funny. Would definitely return.

Come to arrow pub arnold thought food looked good but had fry up wife had lasagna kids pasta I thought witherspoon was the worst pub grub I was mistaken the arrow is worst pub food portion for prise over priced portion size for price very bad beer over priced all in 1/10

Very friendly staff. Efficient service. Good choice of food and drinks. Plenty of cask ales on offer. Prices of drinks could be a bit more competitive.

Football is back at the Arrow. Watched the Charity Shield, good match, great atmosphere. Stayed on for the all-day breakfast. Good service and a great meal. Just keep it going all season. Ged

Love the Arrow. Lydia, Sue, Heather, Jess are always welcoming. All day breakfast was just what the doctor ordered this morning. And the Timmy Taylor Landlord is as good as you’ll find anywhere.

Love £5 burger night! (Which is amazing) goes down a treat with our family! Also the Chick n Mix on a Thursday is just as amazing! My young one’s absolutely love!! Food is great price matches all types of budgets! Great place to watch football and catch up with friends, great atmosphere!

We turned up with around 15 people for an low key family gathering, the staff where amazing especially Jess & Leah! Great food and lovely staff I would 100% recomend!

Myself and my daughter often pop here for a bite to eat. Wednesday is £5 for a burger with 3 toppings! 2 burgers, 2 drinks for £18, bargain!

Very disappointed. Badly managed pub with just two girls to run the bar, take food orders, clear tables and waitress as well. Girls were brilliant but obviously too many customers to take care of. Food was okay but steak and ale pie was awful. Not a very big slice, lots of gristle and overcooked as gravy was virtually moulded to the plate. But if kitchen staff were as few as bar staff then no surprise that food was not up to standard. Drinks were reasonably priced except for a pint of coke, which was more expensive than a pint of real ale, so.not great for those who are driving or don't drink alcohol. Also, asked for no ice in coke so only got three quarters of a pint.

The Arrow is a friendly neighbourhood pub operated by Greene King but with a lovely village pub welcome. Lydia is a brilliant landlady and Sue is so good you get a smile as you walk in and she starts pouring your favourite pint before you even order it. Speaking of which, the Timothy Taylor Landlord is as good as anywhere and cheaper than most, especially with Camra discount. Food is great too. Love the place and did I mention Sue is awesome?!

Called in here for food and drink after visiting our daughter and new baby granddaughter in hospital. Staff Lydia and Sue where so welcoming and all day breakfast was great! Lovely atmosphere and will definitely visit again 👍definitely recommend 👍

Excellent food, clean environment with exception staff always polite, helpful and inviting.

Well it was cup final day so it was very busy. The food was slow at coming out but the waitress was lovely. The scampi needed a bit longer in the fryer as it was quite pale but hot enough to be safe. The lady who served us drinks was very friendly.

Lovely pub Great selection of real ales. I had the double burger and it was great. All the food was hot which nowadays makes a welcome change. Jess and Sue are very friendly id deff go back

Always friendly staff and atmosphere. Loads of seating inside and out. There's a lot of choice for drinks on tap and in bottles. The food is typical green kings pub food. Cheapish and cheerful and fills a hole. The games' nights are really good fun. It's not dog friendly, which is a shame. But you can sit outside with them.

There are six real ales on, all reasonably priced. The crowds are back so there is a great atmosphere. It's manic when there's a Forest match on. Just keep it going like this Team Arrow.

Really good service for a Sunday especially with the football being on. The food that we ordered was great but not having burgers available was a bit of a disappointment.

Husband booked a table for lunch, went with our daughter and son-in-law. From walking in was made to feel welcome by the staff, all were very friendly. Two of us ordered the roast turkey. Couldn't fault a thing plus proper gravy not thin and watery. The rest of our party picked vegetarian options and were very happy. special mention to our waitress Katie (Rockey) She was lovely. We'll be back.

There's an advertisement that keeps coming up on the television on a Wednesday showing a double burger with all the trimmings for a fiver.It is misinformation because when you go to get it you get a single burger and you have to pay extra for each trimming.

Absolutely love the arrow! Highly reccomend 100% its been my local now for a few years and have never been left disappointed! The food and drinks are reasonably priced and they do have some great deals on like £5 burger wednesday with chips and addiontal 3 toppings on the burger all for £5 and double up your burger for £1 !! BARGAIN!! The staff are absolutely down to earth, friendly and socialable they always put their customers 1st! And will help in anyway they can to make sure you're happy with your visit and looking forward to coming back again! The Arrow is a very very good place to go for a variety of nice food, a vast selection of drinks, a nice game of pool or a good game of darts. It is also a very lively place to come and watch the football with a splendid crowd. The staff here are very nice and talkative and very welcoming. I would highly recommend coming here.

Went to watch the football multiple sports on at the same time so lots of choice atmosphere was good especially when forest play staff friendly and rocket (katie) is amazing very friendly helpful and funny

Had a family meal on Christmas day staff were amazing could not do enough for you even added my sister a late edition to the booking. Just celebrated my husbands 50th at the Arrow pub. They reserved the upstairs for us which was perfect for a gathering of 30/40 people. The service from the staff was fantastic and the food was amazing. I cannot thank the Arrow enough for a great night 👌

went to watch my football team play on TNT while having a drink and a bit of food. lovely lady with dark hair and glasses was behind the bar. she is fun, bubbly and a credit to the pub. she has served me before and she is lovely.

We went to watch the Ladies World Cup Final with our Under 11's football team and the team at The Arrow couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We paid a reasonable deposit to secure a specific area and the whole day was great from start to finish! Thank you Sue and the Team that were working that day! :)

We held a funeral wake for a family member. The food was excellent and plentiful. Service was lovely. Thank you for making a difficult day a little easier.

I’ve visited the Arrow several times now and I have to say that whether I pop in for a quick lunchtime drink or an evening meal the service is always excellent. The manager should be so proud of the staff, they are an absolute credit to her and the company.
