Victoria Inn Restaurant in Bromsgrove

Our visit was far from great. On arrival we had to wait in the cold draft, the manager clearly had no clue on the lay out of the tables and was checking each table on the table plan as he brought out the dishes. We were left to wait too long whilst sat down, when we ordered drinks they were incorrect & I had to go to the bar to correct as there was no one around to help or ask. Our food eventually came to our table cold - we had ordered hot food. The plates were cold, the meat was cold and the mushrooms had clearly been prepared at 10 am in the morning & left to curl & go cold. The potato products, I cannot call them chips, however were furnace hot making them both inedible from a hardness of the uncooked potato & the external heat. My wife ate hers as she was starving but did not enjoy it. I sent mine back but the replacement was raw but I had had enough by then & just wanted to leave. Awful.

Well what can I say, our daughter and family moved into the beautiful village of Barnt Green, lots of famous and very wealthy premiership footballers live. So we visited this establishment after helping them move in and thought about having a break so we frequented this establishment, there were six adults and four children, poor muggins caught for the round of drinks, two pints of Spanish lager a pint of bitter, a glass of Prosecco, a tonic water, a lemon and lime, kids drinks, coke if I recall……£35.00, I’m not surprised only the Rich and famous live here, beautiful pub but I think I will drive past it next time

Absolutely amazing atmosphere/service and food

Visited for a Sunday lunch yesterday with my mum, and we had such a lovely time. The food is absolutely delicious, one of the best roasts I think I’ve ever had. Amazing portions (couldn’t fit in a dessert, sadly, even though they sounded incredible), delicious wine, and really fab staff. We were served by Liv C, who was so sweet and attentive. She was wonderful! Ticket number: 362.

Food is disgusting, had surf and turf one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Prawns were old and god knows how long they were in their freezer and for £40 you only get 2 prawns?!? Mrs had a burger for £20 and had half as much food as me? Steak ordered medium rare was overcooked and disgusting with no flavour. Chips all you could taste is frost inside of them. First and last time I am having food here. The atmosphere however is nice and the staff behind the bar seems great.

We did the bottomless brunch for 10 people. Had a great experience - well worth the money and the service was superb. Amy and Jurijs were very accommodating and did their best to make the experience enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone. Table number 292.

Visited the Vic as a group of friends and ordered various barrel ales. The specific one chosen was off and when I complained I was told in no uncertain terms that it was fine , I would NOT be getting a replacement and the manager was very rude about it. Only 20 mins later the beer was no longer available and a fresh one was still offered. Overpriced, poor quality and bad service would be my rating for this pub.

Breakfast with santa... No christmas music. No interaction with santa...most include singing, dancing etc. He could have been mingling during the Breakfast. Breakfast food was poor and not to what it said on the menu. The table next to us were offered colouring for their kids, not us. Very over priced for Breakfast and a quick chat with santa like you would anywhere else. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return.

Went to The Victoria for the first time yesterday. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious two course lunch. We treated ourselves to a cocktail and shared a bottle of wine. Our waitress, Izzy, was delightful. The whole place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we had a fantastic time. Thank you so much - we will be back! N.B. For this review, I gave 5/5 stars for food, service and atmosphere but, for some reason, the review is showing 0/5 for each! I tried to edit it but it didn't work.

First visit with my misses and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Firstly, I had the chicken liver with cranberry sauce on toasted bread and my partner had the mackerel. Both starters were prepared well and tasted great. I then had the festive menu which consisted of turkey, vegetables and a side of pigs in blankets and my partner had the pork belly with vegetables and shared the side order. The pork was delicious and the turkey was fine but I was more satisfied with the consistency of the vegetables, they were properly cooked and warm on delivery. We enjoyed our desserts of chocolate brownies, ice cream and pear. Ample ice cream but maybe the brownie could be larger. There was a positive, vibrant atmosphere and the staff were very polite, attentive and quickly met any of our needs. Based on our initial experience, we would return to drink and or dine here again in the future. Ticket number 215

7 of us came for our works Christmas lunch. We loved the decor of the pub with a really cozy feeling to it. Our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We all ordered from the festive menus. Our food came out together in a timely fashion. Food was delicious & I had jokingly asked for extra bread sauce with mine and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with extra! The only meal that didn’t receive positive feedback was the vegetarian butternut squash wellington, which was described as bland. Other than this everyone was happy with all their 3 courses. The only thing that needs to be looked at is the parking. We had real problems parking as the carpark was full! Surprised when we got inside to see it not that busy. People obviously park there to go into the village. Could do with some sort of reg recognition where patrons have to input their reg plate on a device when entering the pub. This would stop the parking problem. All in all a very enjoyable Christmas Lunch. We will definitely go back again and recommend to friends and family.

Great place to meet and eat with friends.

Everything was perfect as always from start to finish. Such a personal service and experience for 12 of us. Aaron came over to greet us and check all was ok which I felt was very tentative all the staff Izzy & Nona were organised smiling and not flustered at all the quality of the food was exceptional.

Will definitely come again! The first time I went with my partner were served by Chelcie who was super friendly and really helpful! Really made our visit special! Thank you again!

A lovely dog friendly gastro pub. Friendly staff with warm welcome. A spacious restaurant area relaxes seamlessly through to the bar. We found this gem while searching for an EV charging point. And it turned a problem into a great double win.

Really nice staff and lovely decor. But, those pricess are taken the piss. They are lucky there is not much competition in the area because the prices are borderline criminal. Hopefully somebody comes In and pushed these guys out the market unless they change thier prices . It's a village not a street in Mayfair

Are you the manager of a hospitality venue (pub, restaurant etc). Are your reviewers consistently giving you anything less than 4 stars?!?! I suggest you pay The Victoria a visit to see where you are getting it wrong. We were a table of 8 visiting at possibly the busiest time on a Saturday on the last bank holiday of the summer... Our order was taken promptly, and additional dietary requests made via telephone before our arrival were met - Correctly! The service provided by waiting staff was nothing short of first class. Attentive but not invasive. (There's nothing I hate more than being asked if everything is OK with my meal before I've even taken a bite). The food was served in a timely manner, it was hot, and everyone's order was correct. It also tasted really good, "The proof is in the pudding" as they say....and yeah, They were pretty tasty too! Atmosphere wise, as I said it was a peak time so lots of full tables but a good crowd and I felt quite comfortable there. I'd struggle to mark The Victoria down on any aspect of my visit and would without hesitation both return and recommend. 10/10 This is how it should be done! 👏🏻 And last but not least...My raffle ticket number is 114.🤞🏻

We visited a few days ago and the atmosphere was welcoming. A very nice place for a quick drink after a day out. There is plenty of nice areas outside which is nice in this weather.

Stopped off on a trip back from holiday and glad we did. Great lunch for family of four and attentive service despite a busy beer garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Recommend the pork belly / scallops and sauteed mushroom starter which our daughter had as a main and really enjoyed

We caught up with some old friends and had food and drinks. Everything was excellent and also nice surroundings, it was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was busy, but staff were quick and attentive. We arrived without a reservation and was seated very quickly by Liv. Checked through the menu and with mouth watering anticipation, ordered starters and mains and we was not disappointed The crab sourbread was different and superbly prepared and the sticky chicken was mildly spicy and very edible. Mains followed on with the level of quality set by the starters and well done to the chef Nona, many compiments from me and my partner, everything was cooked amazingly. We would also like to thank Laura for her service and the amazing warm friendly service from all of the staff. We will definitely be visiting here again. I have got back from the Victoria, Barnt Green at 17.45 on 29/05/2024. We left at approximately 17.15. I wish that I could say that it was a happy experience. Unfortunately it was the opposite. I went to this pub at 14.25, as my wife was having her hair cut in the village and was going to join me and we planned to eat there as well. I went in and I was using a walking stick as I have severe pain in one of my feet. I approached the bar. There were two people there. A young lady with longish hair who also had foot pain due to an infection in her left foot and a tall man with black hair. I asked for a drink and the young lady started pouring it. The tall black haired man aggressively asked cash or card, evidently not expecting me to be able to afford the drink. I paid cash, I hobbled with my stick to a table near the gents toilet as due to my slow walking speed, I did not want any accidents. The young lady brought my drink to my table. An hour later, my wife joined me. We had a few more drinks, and then some food. My wife had the chicken, leek and cheddar pie. Due to her losing her taste due to Covid in the last 3 weeks, she could not comment on the taste of food. She did however tell me that it was hot. I ordered two starters come come with her main. That means that they are cooked as her main is cooked and not allowed to go cold while the “cook” (certainly not chef) cooks the main. My starters were cold. The crab on sourdough probably should have been cold. However I find it hard to believe that pan fried wild caught scallops should be completely cold. At no time were we asked if our food was OK, so we could not give our opinion on the food. I felt like I was been given the evil eye by the black haired bar manager. Her totally kept himself out of sight. The young lady had gone off shift earlier due to her needing to see her doctor about her foot pain. We spent over £80 on the meal and drinks. As I left I said goodbye to him. He totally ignored me. Obviously I am not local (think league of Gentleman). I don’t live in Barnt Green, but I do live in Belbroughton which is another high prestige village on the outskirts of Birmingham. I felt like I was not welcome as I was “not worthy of his attention, unlike the locals” I have been successful in life. I have never dressed or lived upto my income, as I can't be bothered to and find it a complete waste of time, effort and money. I find this make people disrespect me so that I can have a true judge of their abilities and character. Due to several local pubs asking me to stints as Santa last Xmas, I have allowed my white beard and curly white hair to continue to grown untamed since September 2023. I am booked for Santa stints in the run up to Xmas 2024. I am not a random homeless person as otherwise how could I have arrived in a Nissan Navara. Did he think I stole it? I don’t drive posh cars or wear posh clothes as I have never felt the need be to live upto my income. I could probably buy that pub out from under him in cash, but with toxic staff like him, why would I bother. Besides he would be the first of my sackings. Both my stepdaughters work as managers in the hospitality industry, so I know how it should be done. So he demonstrated dis-ablism, total lack of respect, total lack of customer service and a bunch of other things. In my opinion, he should be totally demoted, made to start from the bottom again, retrained many times over and monitored repeatedly to make sure that he learns the lessons from his training and dismissed if he fails to learn.
