I was here for a funeral so a bit odd for me to give a mark for the atmosphere! But a nice pub with good service and food, would definitely visit again when in the area

Great pub. Tasty food, great pints, friendly staff. Certainly not a budget establishment, however if this is not a concern I would have to recommend this establishment. Was very impressed on my visit.

Are you the manager of a hospitality venue (pub, restaurant etc). Are your reviewers consistently giving you anything less than 4 stars?!?! I suggest you pay The Victoria a visit to see where you are getting it wrong. We were a table of 8 visiting at possibly the busiest time on a Saturday on the last bank holiday of the summer... Our order was taken promptly, and additional dietary requests made via telephone before our arrival were met - Correctly! The service provided by waiting staff was nothing short of first class. Attentive but not invasive. (There's nothing I hate more than being asked if everything is OK with my meal before I've even taken a bite). The food was served in a timely manner, it was hot, and everyone's order was correct. It also tasted really good, "The proof is in the pudding" as they say....and yeah, They were pretty tasty too! Atmosphere wise, as I said it was a peak time so lots of full tables but a good crowd and I felt quite comfortable there. I'd struggle to mark The Victoria down on any aspect of my visit and would without hesitation both return and recommend. 10/10 This is how it should be done! 👏🏻 And last but not least...My raffle ticket number is 114.🤞🏻

We visited a few days ago and the atmosphere was welcoming. A very nice place for a quick drink after a day out. There is plenty of nice areas outside which is nice in this weather.

Stopped off on a trip back from holiday and glad we did. Great lunch for family of four and attentive service despite a busy beer garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Recommend the pork belly / scallops and sauteed mushroom starter which our daughter had as a main and really enjoyed

We caught up with some old friends and had food and drinks. Everything was excellent and also nice surroundings, it was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was busy, but staff were quick and attentive. Visited to catch up with family and friends , had the brunch option which was lovely , food was excellent quality and the drinks were very nice only just wished there was more options on the drinks available, pub is lovely and we were able to sit out in the beer garden . Enjoyed a lovely meal at the vic service very good served by a young lady called ciara who was excellent.

We arrived without a reservation and was seated very quickly by Liv. Checked through the menu and with mouth watering anticipation, ordered starters and mains and we was not disappointed The crab sourbread was different and superbly prepared and the sticky chicken was mildly spicy and very edible. Mains followed on with the level of quality set by the starters and well done to the chef Nona, many compiments from me and my partner, everything was cooked amazingly. We would also like to thank Laura for her service and the amazing warm friendly service from all of the staff. We will definitely be visiting here again. Came in today with family and was served by the lovely Ciara. Couldn’t have asked for better service - she made us feel so looked after. Food was incredible and had a lovely atmosphere as well, will definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely lunch at The Victoria! I was served by jess and then passed over to server Liv T. Both girls were super friendly and had a big welcoming smile. Very attentive and made sure our experience was 5 stars. I had the chicken burger and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend this place it’s a must visit!! My raffle number is 520.

I have got back from the Victoria, Barnt Green at 17.45 on 29/05/2024. We left at approximately 17.15. I wish that I could say that it was a happy experience. Unfortunately it was the opposite. I went to this pub at 14.25, as my wife was having her hair cut in the village and was going to join me and we planned to eat there as well. I went in and I was using a walking stick as I have severe pain in one of my feet. I approached the bar. There were two people there. A young lady with longish hair who also had foot pain due to an infection in her left foot and a tall man with black hair. I asked for a drink and the young lady started pouring it. The tall black haired man aggressively asked cash or card, evidently not expecting me to be able to afford the drink. I paid cash, I hobbled with my stick to a table near the gents toilet as due to my slow walking speed, I did not want any accidents. The young lady brought my drink to my table. An hour later, my wife joined me. We had a few more drinks, and then some food. My wife had the chicken, leek and cheddar pie. Due to her losing her taste due to Covid in the last 3 weeks, she could not comment on the taste of food. She did however tell me that it was hot. I ordered two starters come come with her main. That means that they are cooked as her main is cooked and not allowed to go cold while the “cook” (certainly not chef) cooks the main. My starters were cold. The crab on sourdough probably should have been cold. However I find it hard to believe that pan fried wild caught scallops should be completely cold. At no time were we asked if our food was OK, so we could not give our opinion on the food. I felt like I was been given the evil eye by the black haired bar manager. Her totally kept himself out of sight. The young lady had gone off shift earlier due to her needing to see her doctor about her foot pain. We spent over £80 on the meal and drinks. As I left I said goodbye to him. He totally ignored me. Obviously I am not local (think league of Gentleman). I don’t live in Barnt Green, but I do live in Belbroughton which is another high prestige village on the outskirts of Birmingham. I felt like I was not welcome as I was “not worthy of his attention, unlike the locals” I have been successful in life. I have never dressed or lived upto my income, as I can't be bothered to and find it a complete waste of time, effort and money. I find this make people disrespect me so that I can have a true judge of their abilities and character. Due to several local pubs asking me to stints as Santa last Xmas, I have allowed my white beard and curly white hair to continue to grown untamed since September 2023. I am booked for Santa stints in the run up to Xmas 2024. I am not a random homeless person as otherwise how could I have arrived in a Nissan Navara. Did he think I stole it? I don’t drive posh cars or wear posh clothes as I have never felt the need be to live upto my income. I could probably buy that pub out from under him in cash, but with toxic staff like him, why would I bother. Besides he would be the first of my sackings. Both my stepdaughters work as managers in the hospitality industry, so I know how it should be done. So he demonstrated dis-ablism, total lack of respect, total lack of customer service and a bunch of other things. In my opinion, he should be totally demoted, made to start from the bottom again, retrained many times over and monitored repeatedly to make sure that he learns the lessons from his training and dismissed if he fails to learn.

Dined here on Thursday and the food was spectator. Been a few times now and it get’s better and better.

Visited on Tuesday for some lunch, our waitress Ciara was very attentive and provided excellent service! Nona was our chef and the food was amazing!! Will be returning again soon.

Have been here numerous times before, however not sure if it’s changed hands or whether M&B just don’t bother investing properly. They had no cask beers on, which seems bad planning for a pub at a weekend. The food was ok but overpriced for what it was with some of it being bland and a bit tasteless. It used to be good here but I won’t be returning again in a hurry after this last visit.

We went here for lunch to celebrate my Mum's 90th birthday. There was a lovely choice of food on the menu and everything was presented nicely and tasted delicious. We had asked that my Mum's dessert came with a candle to celebrate her birthday and the 2 waitresses carried it out whilst singing to her!

Came here over Easter weekend and today and can see the food and service have definitely improved. The menu has changed and now includes more vegetarian and fish dishes, and the quality of the food has also increased. We’ve tried the rainbow salad (with goats cheese), sea bass, and a selection of the small plates (truffle cheese doughnuts are amazing) and we’ve been really impressed on how good everything tastes. On Easter Sunday they had two live acts which were really good and created a really fun and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend this pub now for great food, atmosphere and service.

We were seated promptly upon arrival, drinks ordered and arrived quickly, and we were given plenty of time to look at the menu to decide. We all ordered completely different things, a roast beef lunch, a steak, a chicken pie and a chicken burger. All our meals were absolutely delicious. Not a single criticism. But what made the whole experience even more enjoyable than the food itself, was that our server, Chelcie was absolutely amazing.! She was attentive, without being overbearing. She noticed when our plates were finished and our glasses were empty. She really is a credit to you at The Victoria! And we can’t wait until our next visit.

Had a lovely do at The Victoria in Barnt Green, right on the edge of Brum. It's got that proper traditional pub feel with a modern twist. The beer selection is brilliant, and the food's something else - hearty and delicious. The staff make you feel right at home, super welcoming. Only downside? It can get a tad noisy when packed, but that's part of its charm. Ideal for a cosy night out or a Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit.

Great place for brunch. However, the vegetarian breakfast seemed to lack something; maybe a vegetarian sausage.

The pub is quality. Great singer. The beer is very average at top price. If they sold decent craft it would be good. Madri, , etc are a B mass produced rip off!

Lunch there today. I’d forgotten just how frustrating this place is. Welcome is very friendly and taken immediately to our table. Drinks also served pretty quickly. Then eons went by before our starters and similarly for our main course. Looking around, others were suffering the same. Seems to be an institutional thing at the Victoria, I remember the same problem last time. Food is reasonable if uninspiring. Won’t go back.

Popped in for a beer and coffee over lunchtime. Presentation of the Victoria from the outside looked good particularly with the nicely lit party hire glass house to the rear. Inside from the car park side you have 3 eating areas with a bar area that wraps L shaped around the front entrance. Modern interior with a good range of various styles of coloured textile seating and complimentary lighting and open fireplace in the bar area. Food selection is more up market with an attractive menu more upmarket than the chain pubs and which would suit the local clientele. The small plate offerings for the bar area sounded really good. Great range of beers largers ciders and wine. Layout is good and has been opened up. It's obvious the owners want to put on a good show and care about appearances. The staff seemed naturally friendly and chatty which was great. This type of connection with customers will always lead to people coming back to a pub/restaurant. Noticed music on a Thursday night from 8. 30 which apparently is well attended so arrive early to ensure a seat. The only slight negative is the loos which need some attention.... so as to match the standards that's set in the front of house. Otherwise a lovely visit. Barnt Green residents are luckily to have such a great pub.

Ordered 2 Sunday dinners yesterday via just eat, absolutely disgusting the food that turned up. No pork on the trio and the meat supplied on both dinners was what can only be described as scraps. No care taken at all and can't even get a refund from just eat which just tops off the experience.

Pre booked for a group. service was very very slow. Food was barely edible once it arrived cold and overcooked a few of our group left there mains. Deserts where not much better with one unedible and had to be abandoned as the cookie was rock hard. The establishment was packed and we where a pre booked group of 16 but only two waitresses on duty for the who restaurant and bar. We arrived for our 12:30 booking starters didn't arrive until nearly 13:30. We where leaving at just before 16:00. More tables where complaining about the service as we left. Won't be going back anytime soon 👎
