Our food was very good but not as good as other pubs we’ve been in so that is the reason for the 4 rather than a 5. Otherwise it was a great experience. Owners were very personable.

We had passed The Victoria Inn on many occasions and decided to go in for Sunday Lunch. The woman behind the bar was really friendly and welcoming. The place is spotlessly clean, rather outdated decor but clearly well loved and cared for. The dinner was very good value at £10.50 with well cooked meat (choice of 3) along with very good roast potatoes and gravy. The veg was mostly frozen, as we would expect for this price, but perfectly fine. The puddings are traditionally English, syrup steamed pudding, spotted dick, crumble etc. We had the syrup steamed pudding with custard, again very nice. If you are looking for a good value Sunday lunch in a friendly, clean pub, then you can't go far wrong than the Victoria Inn.

My husband, myself and another couple were staying at the nearby Campsite and thought it would be nice to go for a roast dinner locally, not far to walk at all through a lovely field. There were only two people working, one was in the kitchen serving dinners and the other was taking orders for food, drink and waiting on tables but she was a very friendly, calm lady considering how much she was working. If you want a tasty roast then this is the place but I saw mentioned "a roast like you had at your grannies" well, my grandma would not have used frozen or tinned veg and also all the food was placed on the plate and not on separate dishes. Like I said, the meal was tasty but mostly tinned or frozen produce used. The majority of people there were over 60's and that sort of meal is perfect for them, we enjoyed our meal but doubt we will return. Thank you anyway.

We've passed by this Inn so many times travelling either from our home in Abbotsbury to Weymouth or on the return but never called in. Hearing lots of friends saying we should try it, especially Sunday lunch - so we did today and hit the jackpot. Sunday lunch was fabulous and good choice of meats. Definitely go again.

We have been quite often, mostly for Sunday dinner, it’s a very nice dinner, roast potatoes, 4 veg, Yorkshire pud, gravy, and beef, lamb or pork, My favourite pudding is blackberry and apple pie, and custard, ice cream is an option with the pie. Service is just right, not overbearing, just nice and polite. The customers are mostly local, with occasional visitors from a nearby camp site. It’s best to book, it can get busy, but not always. The Sunday lunch was £9:00 and pudding £4:50

This pub about 200 meters from edge of Bagwell Farm camping park. Very warm welcome and locals friendly. It does not look much from the outside and when you walk in looks like the working mans club from my home town. BUT it is relaxed and friendly and although a limited menu it does offers excellent value for money and honest food .

We called in to the Victoria Inn on our way back to the nearby caravan park where we were staying as it was our last night in Weymouth before heading back home the following morning. We had a lovely meal. My husband's steak was cooked to his liking and my fish meal was also very satisfying which washed down with a couple of pints of the local cider made the evening complete. Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.

I took my family and some friends to the Victoria Inn for a meal this week, 10 of us in all. There is a great family atmosphere and outside play area for the children. The menu is varied and something in there for everyone, without is being complicated. There are children's sized meals as well. Everyone enjoyed their meals and sweets, especially the children who had clean plates. One of the children was 17 months old and a high chair was provided along with empty plates and cutlery for her to share food from others rather than having to buy and waste a full meal. A great night at Knights in the Bottom and a food bill less than £110, now that I thought was great value and excellent service. Well done.

My husband and I, and another couple had a very nice meal here just before Easter. It was a Wednesday and there were only 2 other customers, but the atmosphere was fine and the landlord was very welcoming. The food was of good quality, served nice and hot, and reasonable priced. We were helping to run a Caravan Rally next door at Bagwell Farm and about 70 of us visited again on Easter Saturday evening. Some had food, but the rest of us just had drinks. We were made very welcome again and spent a good evening there.

If you're after good basic pub grub and a reasonably priced pint then this place is a safe bet.We found the staff and locals friendly and the food well cooked and tasty. The landlord informed us that they have live music in the form of a jam session on the first Friday of each month which we intend to try out on our next visit to the area. I have also heard that the Sunday roast is good. The decor is a bit dated but the place was clean and welcoming. There is a small raised deck area with outside seating and a small play area for the children which my kids enjoyed.

I personally found this pub run down and drab. it is I am sure just a drinking hole for locals that are only interested in drinking. It is very clichy. I believe they do food but have not tasted it. It has potential but no motivation to do anything.

Have eaten at this pub numerous times. It's slight out of the way of the hustle and for me that's a delight. The landlord is friendly & humorous and always very welcoming. The waitresses polite & helpful. Some nights there is a grumpy bar man who is often more interested in chatting then service. He can put a slight tint on your evening but it won't spoil it. The menu is kept simple but the food is always good. My husband & I have had the steak many times and every time it's been to die for. Tender and we'll cooked. We are trying to find time to sample what were told is an amazing home cooked roast.First & last Fridays of the month are a good night to go as they have 'jam night' music. Would thoroughly recommend the place to anyone.

We visited this pub Sep 2013 some of the locals were playing musical instruments so it looked to be a good evening. I had to wait for the landlord to stop talking to one of the locals before he decided to serve me he came across the bar to me did not speak but nodded his head then as he was serving me struck up another conversation with one of the locals, he told me the price of the drinks did not say please or thankyou, we drank up and left, I think he must be one of the most ignorant landlords I have ever met

Although the menu is basic, no matter how many times we have eaten there, we have ever had the slightest reason to criticise the service or the food. It is a grossly underated eating place and it you are after a straightforward meal in a congenial atmosphere then you can not choose a better place. Well frequented by locals and tourists alike. Have never eaten such nice chips anywhere. The best in Dorset.

Lovely hotel and friendly helpful staff. Pricey at £350 B&B with very average rooms but good breakfast, although service very slow. Sadly not accessible for those with mobility disorders as no lift, steep stairs and few accessible bathrooms However, marvellous for lunch or dinner on a day out

We were camping just down the road this past weekend and decided to have a browse - I'm glad we did as there was much more to this farm shop than I was expecting. Lots of different produce and gifts type things all quite nicely set out. Some things were sensibly priced considering you do expect to pay a slight premium at a farm shop (postcards 50p, fresh scones £1, clotted cream £1.99), but some of the prices were a little shocking - there were loaves of fresh bread at £4.50 and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of ice cream being served at the side of the car park! Overall a worthwhile trip - the scones were delicious, good selection of ciders and got some lovely warm slipper socks. I'd recommend popping in if you're passing (the views are fantastic too) just don't expect any bargains.

We wanted something less corporate for lunch and was pleased to find this cafe as it looked a little more old school and independent. The build your own breakfast offered great choice and when I said I fancied crumpets with marmite rather then the offered jam, was told this was fine. The crumpets came with a generous serving of marmite in a little bowl. This was a great find and having never been a fan of Dorchester improved my opinions if the town (finding the park also helped improve my opinion of the town) .
