Good location, especially if you’re a tourist in London. Ok food. Horrendous service. Rude. Clumsy. Little to no customer service. I arrived before my friend who’d booked a table in advance. I was waiting to be seated while 3 members of staff stood a few feet away from me, looking in my direction while chatting and messing about. A staff member eventually came over and asked if he could help me. I advised of the booking and after a considerable amount of time trying to find the booking, he said I couldn’t be seated without my friend. I asked if I could get a drink. I was eventually seated by someone else. My drink took about 20minutes to arrive even though I was seated by the outside bar. Was given food that wasn’t mine and the waiter argued with me that it was mine. At this point I hadn’t ordered, hadn’t been given a menu and my friend hadn’t arrived! The food was unceremoniously dumped on the table and the waiter walked away. We had to call him back and ask for cutlery. Then had to ask for condiments twice. Ordering a coffee after the meal was an ordeal. Had to ask for the dessert menu, which was hard going as all the wait staff seemingly tried their best to ignore us. Coffee, we asked if they did a skinny flat white, he didn’t know if they had skinny milk. Asked if they did a milk alternative, he didn’t know. We asked if he could find out. 15minutes ticked by…. Unless you have ages and are not bothered by slow, rude, bad service, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are so many better places to eat with good views of London.

We were served by Shofi who was wonderful!! A big birthday bash handled well, he went the extra mile. Thank you Shofi!

Rubel made the evening fantastic! From the start he welcomed us and ensured we got a great seating area with a fire pit too. The meal courses one and two were sublime, and we were bowled over. However the third course, dessert left a little to be desired. The manager agreed and was very helpful in resolving our issue. Felt very looked after throughout and will definitely return, as the food, ambience and river Thames Tower Bridge view were excellent…. Thanks again Rubel - you’re a star (well 5 stars actually)!!

The staff were accommodating seating us early for our 3 course lunch - unfortunately the steaks we had were all tough and nobody came to check on us during the meal

Such a lovely place! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were all super friendly. One of the team members who helped us with our table was especially kind (and had the most beautiful eyes, just saying). We had a great time and would definitely come back one day.

Fantastic view, fantastic food, impeccable service. I want to personally thank Iqbal for taking care of me and my fiancée. We came back late at night to the hotel and were craving a bite to eat. Iqbal welcomed us with open arms and said there's no need to worry and they'll take care of our needs. Goodness me was he right! Dear Vacinity Management, I would like to give 5 stars for amazing service for Rubel. Looked after us from start to the end of the service. I was looking at him and he was continously busy in clearing tables and taking order. I know that might be what is expected of him but here I am talking about him making great relationship with the customer and my stay for couple of hours in Vacinity was made welcomed and memorable. Only thing memorable here is the view of the Tower Bridge. Food is totally forgettable and quite expensive.

We had the most wonderful experience at this stunning restaurant by Tower Bridge. The location is simply gorgeous — we were lucky enough to have an outdoor table right by the fireplace, with the most breathtaking view of Tower Bridge. From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after. We enjoyed the beautiful sunshine, sipping on delicious drinks, and taking in the incredible atmosphere. The service from the entire team was absolutely outstanding — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special thank you to Chef Santhosh for the most exquisite food. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal — truly fantastic! Thank you all so much for the superb service and the incredibly warm welcome. We can’t wait to come back!

First, the service is very slow and bad. The restaurant does not require reservations, and when we entered we wanted a table in front of the river view. The waiter told us that it was reserved, and there were 4 tables. When we sat down, we saw a group that came and sat at two tables, and the seats were not enough for them, and one table remained empty. Then the waiter added the table for them even though he told us that it was reserved, and with that, the sound of the tables being taken away. Very annoying. The service is very slow. We ordered appetizers and they came and we sat for more than 30 minutes while the other tables got their food while we were waiting. I will never try it again

The price-performance ratio was not right for us. The taste of the pizza was very reminiscent of a frozen pizza and the burger was unfortunately very dry. At the beginning we were even brought the wrong food and the waitress initially insisted that we take it anyway. Only after a short discussion did we finally receive our correct order.

Tips are calculated automatically (it says 13.5% in small print in the menu) Price-performance not justified! After eating and paying, we were immediately asked to leave the restaurant...

From the moment we arrived, the experience was frustrating. It took 25 minutes before anyone took our order, and another 5 minutes to receive our pre-ordered drinks—30 minutes in just to get something to drink. Starters arrived 45 minutes after arrival, mains took 1 hour and 20 minutes, and dessert was brought 10 minutes after we finished our mains—but only after we specifically requested it. When dessert arrived, it was brought out with takeaway containers, leaving us to box it up ourselves. When we asked for a bag to carry it in, we were dismissively told, “We don’t have bags.” Staff were cold and disengaged throughout, with waiters standing around instead of actually helping, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. When I raised concerns with the manager about the delays, he just responded, “One hour?”—then walked away and avoided our table for the rest of the meal. He sent a staff member to deliver updates like “the food will be a few minutes.” It all felt careless and unprofessional. The food was a mixed experience. The chicken tenders were hot, fresh, and genuinely tasty. Chips and fries were also served hot. However, the steak was cold from the moment it arrived and undercooked (rare instead of medium). The kale was cold and extremely tough. The red cabbage slaw had a strange, fermented, alcohol-like taste—definitely not fresh. The chicken burger lacked flavour entirely, with only a subtle burnt aftertaste. No one asked if we wanted sauces until a staff member overheard me complaining about it at the table. A few decent elements couldn’t make up for the lack of service, poor attitude, and inconsistent food quality. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

A typical tourist trap right by Tower Bridge. We ordered pizzas, all of which were quite raw around the edges. We had to share salt and pepper with the other tables.

Disappointing Birthday Experience – Overpriced and Underwhelming I was genuinely excited about this restaurant – it’s advertised as having a beautiful view of the River Thames and Tower Bridge, and my husband booked it as a special treat for my birthday. We decided to skip afternoon tea and go for a full meal: a few starters, mains, and three desserts. Sadly, the experience just didn’t live up to the expectations. First, the view we were looking forward to (and that they showcase on Instagram) is only available if you book for afternoon tea — something they don’t clearly mention. We were seated by a window, but the view was blocked by a building, so there went the “wow” factor. The food was average at best, definitely overpriced for what it was. The arancini starter was good, but the fish and chips were bland (the fish had no seasoning), and the steak pie wasn’t great either. For the price and the location, we expected better. Service was extremely slow — we waited up to 30 minutes between courses, no one checked in on us, and the basics like water, salt, pepper, or napkins had to be requested (and sometimes never arrived). What really left a sour taste was the fact that we noted in the reservation that it was my birthday, and there was no gesture at all. I understand it’s not a requirement, but even a simple “Happy Birthday” would’ve been appreciated. Unless you’re a tourist hoping for a quick bite near Tower Bridge (and even then, it’s a stretch), I wouldn’t recommend this place. Not the spot for a celebration, and definitely not worth the price.

Faultless afternoon... with gorgeous views of Tower Bridge as a bonus

Reservation were made Jan 7th for a fireside table on April 11 from 6 to 7:30. We were not seated until 6:25 and the table, surrounding area were dirty from the prior guests. None of the preordered food items were put in until we asked for them from our server at 6:40. Our preordered champagne didnt arrive at the table until 6:50. We asked for the fire pit to be turned on 4 times after sitting when we were eventually told they were "still trying to find the key" The fire was finally lit at 7:05 when our preordered food arrived. At 7:15 our daughter still didn't have water she ordered when we initially sat. While the food was good, not great, when it finally came. There is no way I would recommend this restaurant. 10/10 for location 2/10 for experience. Bummer for our last night in London.

Service outside was borderline rude or virtually non existent. After being reluctantly shown to table we waited for a menu which eventually appeared. After that, nothing. In the end we gave up waiting and left. Very disappointing as we were staying at the Tower Hotel and had to go elsewhere to eat and drink.

A good restaurant in a friendly setting on the banks of the Thames. The BBQ burger was delicious with its sauce. Friendly staff, I recommend. 👍

My family went at vicinity to celebrate my sisters birthday. Service and food were superior. Place is really enjoyable. Thanks to our waiter, TIPU, for your good service.

Stumbled upon Vicinity while exploring the area and were not disappointed. Ate from the regular menu outside at a fire pit table. The food was great and as others have said they were very allergy conscious, even more so than a normal restaurant in the UK.

Nice location but tarte tatin was ICE cold. Obviously this dessert is usually served warm, especially as a restaurant dessert with ice cream. Ice cream is disgustingly artificial tasting but tarte itself is nice. Just wish it was warm. If it’s cold they should say so on the menu. I tried to call to ask if it was a mistake but the phone rang and rang without answer.

We stayed at the hotel, which was a great experience. The food at Vicinity was awful. I had the buttermilk chicken burger. Unfortunately, the chef felt it was acceptable to send out a burger that was so burnt it had the consistency of a biscuit. Dry overcooked and a disappointment. We were compensated with two pina colada's, which was nice and an ok gesture, but the damage had already been done. Vicinity, you must try harder. Our server was brilliant and recieved 4 stars everything else was average to poor.

Nice location to sit outside by the Thames. We waited a very long time for the food to arrive, when it finally came one of the salads missed an ingredient. The waitress brought some of it to have on the side when we let them know, which was appreciated. Still a bad experience. Would recommend leaving your money someplace else.

Staying in tower hotel for 2 nights we dined in vicinity, took order for drinks first, 15 mins later no drinks, ordered food, only half the food came, turned around to find the waiter standing chatting to another waiter with the other half of our food, dreadful service, and then had the nerve to add a £17 service charge on the bill.

The place is nice , feels luxurious, but they have three fire pit tables which we wanted to sit at, turns out theres a £150 minimum spend to sit there.. as a couple there was no way we could spend that much so we just sat at a normal table which was a bit disappointing, but still had amazing views of the Tower Bridge. I ordered a virgin passionfruit mojito, it was really nice, £9. For food we ordered cod fish and chips, and escalope chicken. The chicken was not flavoured enough, and was quite hard to chew on. I only ate two three bites and couldnt anymore. The chips were amazing. The fish was cooked well, small portion though. The waiter was nice, overall it was a good experience, would go again but try different food.

The ambiance is amazing. The food is great and the service by Iqbal is top notch . I would definitely come back and recommend Vicinity to my mates.

We stayed at the Tower Hotel and spent our last evening at the Vicinity for drinks. After our waiter (Rubel) heard that it was my birthday, we got free cake as a surprise. We felt very well taken care of and the drinks as well as the view of the Tower Bridge were amazing:)

Lovely food with geat views overlooking Tower Bridge. One of our group has a nut allergy and our sever was really helpful if explaining what dishes were ok to eat. The kitchen kept the plates separate too.

Outstanding service from our waitress, Loredana —friendly, professional, and always with a warm smile. The food was decent but didn’t quite justify the price. The mash was underwhelming, and the red wine sauce lacked depth. However, the steak was well-cooked and full of flavour. The setting is a highlight, with a fantastic view of Tower Bridge and a relaxed, mellow atmosphere for lunch. The outdoor seating is a great option, featuring comfortable chairs and effective heating, making it a pleasant spot year-round.

Me and my friend visited this place for the first time. We had good time here. The waiter named Iqbal made sure we had a amazing time. He was really kinda and nice. I went for the view. The tables with the fireplace are the best in winter. It's a good idea to book. The view of the bridge is beautiful. It's worth going for a few drinks.

An absolute disgrace. Service was terrible food was appalling dirty floor wobbly table completely completely overcooked food didn’t even give us cutlery that we had to ask. Waitress, who looked like management started spraying the tables behind us and made us start coughing with the fumes. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I’m even annoyed that I had to pay For what I received.

03/2025 We dropped in late but the kitchen was still open. We got super friendly service, nice staff. Lady Rumin We ordered beer and: Fish and Chips. All perfect. Tasty sauce, super fries and brillant fish, fresh, crusty and hot. A top recommendation. We will taste again. RSeib
