The food was good, lots of different choices on the menu, the service was also good too, but inside the restaurant it was quite cold and there was a lack of inspiration when it comes to decor.

Restaurant freezing cold had to wear coat and hat inside. Service extremely slow. No one else in restaurant but still took 1hr to get our food. Owner Mainly concerned with the vast amount of phone orders felt like we were eating in a take away shop. Wouldn’t eat there again looked run down and dirty.

Excellent food and reasonably priced, good size portions, friendly staff. It was a shame the resturant only had two other people in i. Would recommend highly

The food was very mixed quality, and I have lived in India for years so know Indian food. The ‘chefs special’ entrée was not what was described on the menu, and the chef even cooked the pomegranate seeds! The waiter (owner?) didn’t apologize or charge me less like most restaurants would when I told him. On the other hand the tandoori salmon entre I also tried was good.

Our friend suggested visiting the Viceroy Indian Restaurant in Gillingham. We prefer to eat early evening. Not surprisingly on a very cold January Friday evening, we were their first customers. We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. I can only describe the interior as a bit of a barn and a bit rustic nevertheless cosy enough with extra heating dotted about. The seating was very comfortable. The current operators have only been there for one year but are very experienced Indian restauranteurs having two restaurants in Yeovil. I had the Purple Tiger curry, which is aubergine and King Tiger Prawns that were huge and and the dish was well spiced very fresh tasting and just the right amount of heat for me. All the food was served piping hot. The menu is vast and very interesting if you like to try something different but with all the traditional dishes too. The young guy serving was obviously very new, but he was very polite and eager to help. Delicious food, fantastic value and reasonably priced drinks. We will definitely return and really fancy trying the Wednesday Gourmet Night, currently £11.95 for 4 courses. This might sound a bit gushy, but we have had many disappointing experiences eating out lately. This place on first experience seems a bit special

Viceroy has a huge range of dishes on the menu and as we are vegetarians it's good to be able to try exciting new curries rather than the usual choices we get in most Indian restaurants. All very tasty and cooked to perfection. It's great value and definitely worth making a detour to Gillingham if you are visiting in the North Dorset area.

Food is generally very good but orders are often missing items etc. I’ve been a regular customer since they opened, prices of late have increased substantially to the point I no longer feel it’s worth it alongside missing items with orders.

We loved the food that we got from Viceroy, Gillingham last night. The menu is extensive with quite a few dishes we has never seen before. We tried a couple of these as well as the Indian standards and thought that they were all really good. We ordered online and then picked up from the restaurant which is tucked away in south street. At pickup, the team were really friendly.
