The majority of the order was spot on. hot fresh and delicious. however the lamb chops were off. they absolutely stunk. check your lamb.

We’d tried most of the Indian takeaways in Stafford but not this one so we gave it a go. Unfortunately the Chicken Tikka masala was watery, orange and not like it should have been. To make matters worse the chips were soggy :(. We won’t be using again.

Delivery time was changed after 10 minutes of already being late. Food arrived 35 minutes later which was freezing cold!

Had a takeaway took 2hours and was absolutely awful tasted of nothing only hot chillies and it was cold had to microwave it NOT GOOD

I have returned from living in New Zealand back to Stafford. A friend of mine used to own the cafe on Milford and I wanted to see how good the Indian had become having taken over from the cafe. What an excellent Indian (fine) dining. Staff were on top form, very freindly and helfull. The owner made us feel very comfortable and attended to all of our needs. Food was beautiful, a good price and we will be back again, several times. Car parking was plentiful and free. If you live near to and you have yet to use this Indian you must give it a go. Definatley 5 stars!

Large portions of quality food.

We all enjoyed our meals. Good sized portions. The only negative we found was the food needed a blast in the microwave. Not a problem though.

My lamb jalfrezi was swamped with oil. The sauce just wasn’t sauce, it was mostly oil. The rest was fine but I probably wouldn’t order from here for takeaway again

What can I say. Has to be one of the most expensive Bangladesh Restaurants I have ever been to. Nearly double from what you pay for takeaways. Have eaten all over the asian continent this has to be the worst food I have eaten. We tried 3 different dishes which was very bland and mushy so can review on all round experience. The wine also greatly overpriced. Would not visit again

Delivery was very late. Chicken Tikka Masala was very watery! Sagwala was super spicy. I could barely eat it. We both left most of our meals. Very disappointed.

So with it being slightly above average in pricing and really busy as a first time visit for a birthday we thought we was in for a treat, but unfortunately we was wrong. The staff were rude some more than others, We ordered 6 poppadoms to receive a small dish full that barely equated to 6 but charged for 6, we then waited an hour and 15 minutes for our main, which you don’t mind if it’s actually nice but one main was completely tasteless the other was floating in a load of oil and the other was more like a stew / gravy, asked for extra coriander on top of one of the dishes, but all come topped with the same amount of cress 🤣 asked for coriander again come in a chipped pot, wouldn’t normally moan about something like that but the attitude was just not brilliant at all so, rice and naan was the best bits, overall don’t waste your time or money coming here (nice decor and place though just a shame about the food and staff)

This isn't your normal Indian restaurant, the food and presentation is beautiful. I can't believe the last few reviews... The staff are so very friendly, I truly wonder if they have visited the Viceroy. They have three areas, the main restaurant and what looks like a private dining area. There is also the orangery, which is a conservatory. The main area serves a very reasonably priced al a carte menu where the Orangery provides a four course menu at £11.95, yes £11.95 a real bargain. I will attach photos and menu. 1st course poppadum with chutney platter. 2nd course - 11 to choose from, we had Sheek kebab and chicken tikka. 3rd course - 18 to choose from, we had chicken Rogan & chicken Balti. For side, a choice of rice or naan bread. Absolutely fabulous, plenty of freshly chopped tomatoes and so very tasty. Then finished with tea or coffee. What an absolute bargain. Better than a M&S takeaway! Our 2nd visit in a week, we will return. Thank you to the Viceroy team,

Went for dinner on 14th September 2023 along with family and friends. Was served literally tasteless food, particularly vegetarian starters. On questioning, Chef was very rude. Left the place mid meals and went to another restaurant in Stafford.

Went to celebrate a friends 60th birthday but ended up leaving the restaurant after just the starters. The starters, particularly the vegetarian starters were bland and lacking any flavour at all. Even the fish starters were less than appetising. The poppadums were stale too, only the chicken was any good. We are of Indian origin and so understand what indian cuisine should be like. When we expressed our view to the staff (including the chef), they became offensive and verbally abusive, asking us to "get lost". We are all professionals and have never faced such disrespect in our lives. Will definitely never be heading toward Viceroy again. After their disgraceful behaviour, we left the restaurant and ended up having a great meal at The Morris Man, who accommodated all of us last minute.

We went for dinner and drinks . Walked out after starters . Stale tasteless food . When complained chef came and told us to get lost .never ever experienced behaviour of staff like this.very rude staff and bad bad food . I went to Viceroy with a group of friends to celebrate 60th birthday of a friend visiting from abroad. We were all hoping for a great experience, meeting after a long time. I have no words to describe how horrible the food, service, staff attitude was. We had to leave after drinks and the most awful starters, cooked in stale oil, flavourless, unseasoned food. The staff attitude was even more shocking who were rude, aggressive and thoroughly unprofessional . The restaurant should stop calling itself Indian restaurant, as the crap they are serving does not reflect rich Indian cuisine at all. I can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who actually cares about authentic Indian food. Absolute shame on its chef and the owner.

Had a worst experience I ever had in any restaurant. Food was of poor quality. Chef has no idea of cooking vegetarian food, overcooked mutton, oil seem burnt and used several times. Not bother about taking any feedback and asked us not to come back to their restaurant ever …….such a poor hospitality……… very rude and unprofessional staff ……. Takeaway arrived half an hour earlier than requested and it was disappointing that we weren't ready to eat when the food arrived (my husband was still in the shower!!). If it had arrived when we wanted the Aloo Gobi might have been properly cooked! Chicken Tikka Korma was tasty though.

Me and my hubby booked to go out for the first time in several months...well we had to queue to get in and we were greeted with chaos, people complaining, staff rushing around, disgruntled customers. We finally got to the front, to be told our table was late but we needed to wait....where I don't know the bar was full and oriole.were hovering everywhere. Our name wasn't taken but we stood at the bar for 20 mins and we were never even offer a drink and neither was the rest of the restaurant....people wear arguing with the managers the bar staff and the waiting on staff....what a horrible atmosphere, we left, drove 5 mins up the road and went to the Shimla Pallace where we were welcomed and asked to wait but they would squeeze us in eventually, offered drinks and staff were happy in their work...avoid viceroy!

Lovely restaurant, nice private table 8 popadoms, smashed - no way was there 8 and hated the smashed look. Paid for pickles. Main courses OK but not as nice as the Island in town. Rice minimal portion. Extras not worth the money . Desserts OK. Water a total rip off nearly £4 per bottle. £150 for 4 people. Never felt more ripped off.

Another excellent visit to Viceroy. Staff very attentive, food excellent and a lovely atmosphere. Slightly more expensive than your run of the mill curry house, but the choice /quality and presentation is worth it. Would recommend.

The take away food is always ok whereas the in restaurant food is very good. My biggest annoyance with the Viceroy is that despite living 3 minutes away they never can find us despite leaving copious notes. And they invariably ring and need help which is tiresome.

Delivery was delayed by 20 minutes, however we were informed of this and we were not overly impressed with the food, however food was warm on delivery

Terrible service. Waited 2 hours only to be provided with cold food. The delivery driver, chef and waiters all rise to the level of incompetence displayed by the manager.

Dreadful experience - really dismissive and brusque. Also you cannot get off the mailing list they constantly spam you with mail suits even though you opt out. If you book they also di the same with your phone. Won’t go back and foods not great...

The food arrived late and was stone cold. The starter was small, but tasted OK. The curry was cold, swimming in oil and had an overpowering taste of garlic. The keema naan was again cold, but even when heated, it had no flavour. Overall, a really disappointing meal and we won't be using Viceroy again.

Possible miscommunication with your driver ? Arrived 15 mins early when I was out . No problem courteous driver then waited for me . Food a little cold but warmed in no time . Food from here is incredible, cannot complain. Always has been great, garlic chicken curry is just perfect! Delivery was terrible. By the time the food arrived it was cold which was a shame. Driver very apologetic though. We know how busy they get, a courtesy call to say they were running late would have helped.

Second time in a row they forgot an item, rice in this case which meant another trip back since there wasn't enough for everyone. The food usually is delish but last night the quality was not great. I had a korma, always have the same as I love it, and the chicken was rather dry and hard and the sauce was a bit watery. The meat usually melts in the mouth and is beautifully flavoured but last night was nowhere near as nice as I'd had from them previously. We collected, staff was pleasant and helpfull as usual and remedied their mistake promptly but we still had to go out again to get the rice as they couldn't deliver quickly- we live about half a mile away only. All in all it feels like standards are dropping :(
