Terrible service! They are not patients. Treated customer with great contempt. I don't recommend it!

Great Service, staff are kind, good food, food took less than 20 minutes and tasted 5 star.

Very poor service today, we had to wait for kids menu for more than 30mins even after requesting few times. Staff chatting away with each other ignoring clients, as the place is busy. It's not usually like this... A bit disappointed..

They served off chicken and the "cheese" tasted worse than a dead unicorn!

We stayed for 3 nights & were staying on the all inclusive deal. The food is nice & edible but after eating there twice you have had pretty much all they have to offer. The food is mostly wraps / burgers with chips. I also feel the food is very overpriced for what it is. I personally recommend if you are staying to order food in from the surrounding restaurants, if we hadn’t of been on a deal we would of done that. The bar is also very expensive, but there is a Morrisons across the road & bargain booze 5 minutes up the road.

High price and poor range of menu items. The peppercorn sauce was not nice. The healthy menu offerings are roughly £20.

Comimos aquí ya que nos estábamos quedando en el hotel, si hubiera pasado más de 1 noche, definitivamente habría ido a otro lado. Las porciones eran pequeñas y los precios no! Definitivamente hay mejores opciones para cenar en Edimburgo.

Terminamos en el Verve Grill (en el Village Hotel) ya que todos los lugares que intentamos reservar estaban cerrados o llenos. El restaurante estaba casi vacío cuando llegamos (y todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí). El menú era un poco peculiar (que puede haber sido la influencia estadounidense) y los precios un poco altos, pero la comida nos pareció mejor de lo que esperábamos de nuestras impresiones iniciales.

Karolina sirvió - excelentes relaciones con los huéspedes, muy útil. Las comidas eran geniales, tenía solomillo, me pareció una buena relación calidad-precio. Después de haber bajado del avión de Sydney, estaba deseando tomar un vaso de cerveza escocesa, sin tanta suerte. ¡Tenía que conformarse con uno inglés! Sólo un punto menor. Recomiendo comer aquí si te alojas en el hotel.

Ate here while staying in hotel. Choice on "Set Menu" was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was very good, with friendly staff.

I was here with the company I work with. First impression was good. Hotel itself is very modern. We did not stay so can't comment on the accommodation. We arrived around 6pm to have drinks in the bar. Queues at bar, not enough staff. No pink gin. We were asked to move through to the bar outside the function room at 7.10pm. Were we were given some cheap alternative to prosecco and it was cheap. Then at 7.30pm we were told to take our seats in the function room. The seating was a long table, so you were unable to converse with anyone except the people immediately beside you. The first course,of potato and leek soup was eventually served at 8.15pm. The soup was fine but you can't really go wrong with potato and leek soup. We then waited until 9pm for our main course. This was disgusting to say the least. It was supposed to be a Christmas dinner.I have never seen a round turkey. It was also over cooked and dry. The 1 stuffing ball was brick hard and looked like it had been around a while. Other than that there was 1 chipolata sausage,1 strip of carrot, 3 brussel sprouts, 2 strips of parsnips and 3 undercooked roast potatoes. I would not have served this to a dog.The dessert was a cheesecake, sticky toffee. Very sweet. The dance floor was far too small for the amount of people in the room and therefore people were dancing on the carpet beside the tables. The save and grace was the DJ. Who played a variety of music to suit everyone. Fair to say, I won't be back and would not recommend for a Christmas night out.

Visited here as part of the £50 Sunday Night hotel deal which included a two course meal. I had a starter and main while my wife went for a main and a dessert. Strangely my starter came at the same time as my wife’s main then my main came with her dessert. That said the flatbread starter and chicken skewer mains were excellent however the pineapple crumble did not look appetising but was ok. The service was really slow and the food would be quite expensive if you had to choose off the main menu. Still not sure how they can justify £7.50 for two diet cokes.

Long waiting time from ordering to serving the food. (70 minutes) Small portions at a high price!..... not recommended.....

und in den knapp 2 Monate wo ich im Village gewohnt habe ich des öfteren beim Verve Grill etwas bestellt (Zimmerservice lässt grüßen). Ich fand alle Gerichte geschmacklich sehr gut die ich über den Zeitraum aß und den Preis durchaus gerechtfertigt.

Great food, Excellent helpful Staff. Had the soup starter and beef skewer with black rice, both very tasty.

I only ate here because I was a resident and it was tipping down outside. Waited about an hour for a weak impersonation of Buffalo wings then another 30mins for my main which was ok. Dessert came quickly, but this wasn't surprising as it was a sticky toffee pudding straight out of the microwave at £7.50 ! Worst sticky toffee pudding ever, must have been an Iceland reject. Service from sultry locals that would clearly rather be somewhere else. If you drive here to eat you're mad, if you're a guest go somewhere like Nok's Kitchen 8 minutes drive away.....it will cost you the same but the food and service is from a different world.

this was our 2nd stay at the hotel and we were really looking forward to our breakfast. Standards had slipped to be honest. The food at the buffet was overcooked and lukewarm. It was included in our room rate or to be honest I would not have paid to eat it. Very disappointing.

Friendly staff and the steak was tasty.

Visited for breakfast when we were staying at the hotel. Nice decor and a good range of breakfast foods. There isn't a lot of places to eat in the vicinity of the hotel, so worth trying here.

Came here for the roast dinner for £15. Meant to be 4 courses got soup, then help yourself to basic salad and bread as another course, roast dinner was ok and then crumble from the kitchen or desserts at the buffet bit. Food was decent though we got there for 3 and the carvery was finishing at 4.30. If anything is running out they won't replace it. So round about 3.45 we asked for the crumble and the waiter had to check as he thought they had run out. Luckily we got the last helping but doubt the family of 10 after us got any. Service was really poor where we were sitting round the corner. No one served us when our drinks ran out and after 10 min went to the bar to order despite 3 waiters standing around very much lack of attention. Would recommend but go earlier than 3 pm

2 course evening meal as included with the Sunday special.. Tomato and pepper soup Avocado and tomato salad Beef Stroganoff Thyme and lime chicken All very nice and only issue was the food was a little cold.. Service was a little slow too, but staff pleasant. Will come back again..

We ate exclusively from the set menu and it was quite nice; the ribs were unavailable so we opted for the pate which was okay but the salad consisted of one cherry tomato and about an inch of greenery so it was a bit sparse. The burger was a very large portion; slightly dry because it was so thick but the accompanying salsa helped with that and the chips were delicious. The desserts looked lovely but we didn't partake. The menu is good value but the drinks are definitely over-priced so be aware of this.The best thing about this restaurant is the staff; they were pleasant, friendly and efficient; every single one of them made a positive impression and to me, that's the most important thing about any restaurant - they were a credit to the hotel.

Ate in the carvery today with my family and I have to say I was really impressed. The staff were friendly and attentive and we all really enjoyed the food. The one thing I would say though is that we felt the starters and desserts weren't replenished very often. We all got what we wanted but I would be intrigued as to how they would cope with a large booking(which we plan to do) I.e around 20 people. But I would definitely return.

Ordered room service and food has been fantastic each time!

Decided to treat the family to Sunday carvery buffet as advertised on website.Turned up and left 15 minutes later. Reason... Totally invisible or very rudely ignored whilst waiting to be seated. Sign at foyer implied staff greet you and give you a table. Sorry but there is only so long a person can wait til they think enough is enough and decided to walk away. Place was certainly not heaving as only few tables occupied. Perhaps this is how they treat all potential diners. Pity looking forward to a roast dinner however ....Don't think we'll try again.

Good size portions, tasty, hot , reasonably priced and a good choice. Just what we needed. We were pleasantly suprised how good it was for the price. Make sure you don't book in the same time as the coach parties though.

Visited for a three course meal as part of a DBB deal. Initial thoughts are it is a nice setting and atmosphere. Second thoights is it is a bit manic and staff running all over the place, nearly running into each other. We were seated near the back of the restaurant in close proximity to the bar and kitchen and felt our meal was kind of interrupted by people rushing past each other, literally missing colliding with each other at times. Food was okay...chicken kiev garlic too much and too rich, felt bit ill afterwards. Deserts lovely, sticky toffee. Felt a bit rushed between courses even when we asked for some time between mains and desert. Not too sure if I would rush back. Visited March 2016 YB.

My partner and I came to the Verve Grill at the Village for Valentines day. It was £60 for 3 courses and a drink each, although a £5 supplement per head as we had the chateaubriand. Which was fine, although there wasn't much of it. The chateaubriand was around the size of an average one-person steak and the portion of chips came in a small serving dish, again enough for only one person. I felt like we were sharing a one-person meal, we were given side-plates to use and when we split the meal, even those weren't full. I was just lucky I could have the creamed spinach to myself as my partner didn't like it. The meat was cooked beautifully though. The prosecco cocktails and the chocolate sharing platter were great although there was a long wait on the dessert. Also about halfway through my meal I realised I had a voicemail on my mobile, which turned out to be from the hostess asking when I would be there for my booking! I had to go back up to the restaurant reception and advise I was already there and in the middle of my dinner! All in all okay, and nice food, but stingy portions for £70. We also returned a few weeks later on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm for the carvery to be told the carvery was on at lunch time only. I thought this was silly, a lot of people at sunday dinner at dinner time! And I had checked their website before and there were no carvery times on there. However when I emailed and provded this feedback I was assured the times were on their website... I still can't see them on the Sunday Lunch page or under the t's and c's. Maybe put these on and stop people wasting a trip.

I live close to this relatively new hotel and use it frequently. This facility is just what the area needed and serves it well with a Starbucks coffee shop, a fabulous gym and a terrific pub.

Had one meal and three breakfasts here. Service was attentive and not rushed although it was not busy anyway. Food was a good mix some similar to the bar it is next to, but better presentation. Tried a spinach and chickpea curry which was very nice and had Britto Misto, would have both again.

Sì, è il ristorante dell'hotel, ma in linea con la struttura e la qualità del resto, è un'ottima soluzione se si vuole restare a mangiare in hotel. La cucina è internazionale, quindi accanto a specialità tipicamente inglesi si affiancano piatti dal sapore orientale, italiano, indiano ecc. Ho assaggiato diversi piatti ed il livello è sempre stato ottimo, a volte sorprendente. Servizio giovane e spontaneo, conto nella norma rispetto ai prezzi (alti) di Edimburgo.

Went Sunday before Christmas for the carvery. Just under £15 a head, with starter and pudding. Was lovely, as much meat as you wanted. Loads of vegetables,potatoes,gravy,Yorkshire puddings. All nicely presented not like the slops at other well know carvery's. Excellent value and definitely be back. Oh and service was second to none

I went to the Village for a 30th Birthday spa day. The service we received spoilt what should have been a very special day.

the staff were good and helpful, good selection of food types, you wait long enough to know your food is freshly cooked and it is lovely and tasty

Beautiful food. My sister and I had dinner at the hotel on several occasions and were impressed each time. The food is wonderful, the service outstanding. I had one of my favorite meals at Verve while in Edinburgh. Chicken something. Bon Appetite!
