Don’t often visit Aldershot as overall it’s a depressing and run down town but on a positive, Vero Cafe is a good reason to make an exception. Good selection of competitively priced waffles/toasties/paninis as well as sundaes and hot drinks. I particularly appreciate the ability to select one of the many loose teas available to have in my pot. Friendly owner is always welcoming and a bonus is fact Vero Cafe is at the top of town and only a short walk from Morrisons free (3hrs?) car park. This visit was during the current Covid restrictions and tables were spaced accordingly. There were no cakes at all available and so yet again it meant we were unable to take up the £4.95 cake and coffee special :-(.......although our waffle and toastie were fine :-)

Thankfully, we're able to visit Vero again after the long, hard, dark cafe-less weeks of CV19 lockdown. Welcoming and friendly, the cafe is roomy and comfortable, great for a catch-up with friends and family. Coffees are very good. Also, the smoothies and waffles hit the spot nicely when the mood strikes.

Brough my girlfriend to this cute little cafe for a quick drink. I had the American with milk with a ham, mozzarella and pesto panini, and she had the iced late (that came with a scoop of ice cream!).Everything about the food and drink is perfect, and we're a bit of a snob when it comes to food/drink. You'll struggle to find a better cafe anywhere in the county, let alone Aldershot!

Aldershot centre has a few coffee shops, all mainly located along dismal Union St - Vero is at the very top end at junction with Grosvenor Rd. There’s a small outside seating area which I guess in summer is probably “smokers corner” and the interior ambience is a step up from those further down the street. What attracted our attention and “invited us in” was a sign stating “coffee and cake for £4.95” but disappointingly there was no cake left when we visited early afternoon and so made do with just hot drinks (tea is served by the cup or pot) - there are toasties, waffles and ice cream also on offer. Additionally, there’s a selection of loose tea varieties displayed in jars which can be purchased from 100g. In my opinion this friendly independent is probably the best Coffee shop in and around Aldershot - just hope they have cake next time we visit!

Drinks were thrown down in front of us in different stages and my husband had almost finished his latte before my pot of tea arrived. Also only a choice of 3 cakes and once they are gone they are gone we were told in a very rude manner when we tried to order a piece with our coffee that had apparantly already been sold!?!?!Will not be returning in a hurry, which is a shame as this could be such a nice coffee shop if run properly and staffed with polite, friendly workers!!!

We visited in a group of six as a lunchtime respite from the office. We chose Vero Waffle and Gelato mainly owing to the good reviews on Tripadvisor. It being the week before Shrove Tuesday we were all hoping to treat ourselves to some crepes! The first disappointment came in the form of them no longer serving crepes or pancakes. The already limited menu is now even smaller it seems. From what I can recall there were lots of different flavours of brightly coloured ice-cream, about eight different waffle combinations, two different sorts of cake, two toastie options and three sandwich options. Plus a full range of hot drinks and a few different milkshake flavours.I opted for the signature dish of banana waffle and had a flat white coffee on the side. This came to just over £6 which I think is a touch expensive. The food was served fairly quickly and the waffles were cooked from fresh, as one would expect from a cafe specialising in waffles. The coffee was good.Having seen what the rest of my party ordered, I was extremely pleased I stuck to a waffle. Two of our group ordered toasted sandwiches - these arrived as slightly warmed regular sandwiches with no real evidence of having been fully toasted. The regular sandwiches were also distinctly average. The savoury dishes were not served with any form of relish or small salad - just a cursory bit of rocket and sliced tomato could go a long way to improve this! The environment is quite pleasant, spacious and not busy. The furniture is well positioned and comfortable and the interior decor is inoffensive enough. The staff seemed disinterested and a bit distant. No polite conversation or menu recommendations.I'm not sure that I'd go back again for food but as a coffee house Vero Waffle and Gelato is acceptable. The menu is too limited for it to function successfully as either a dessert parlour or as a cafe. I suppose it does exactly what it says on the tin - but the limited niche of waffles, ice-cream and coffee may go some way to explain why it regularly seems to be devoid of customers!

Firstly I would like to say the food and drink was good. My problem was poor service. There were only two people working there and it was about a third full. We ordered 3 hot drinks one sundae one toastie and a waffle. We waited about 10mins for the first two drinks followed by the sundae. After my granddaughter finished her icecream I then asked about her hot chocolate and was told its on its way. Another 5 or more minutes passed I chased it up. Then I noticed other people getting their sandwiches before us that came in after. I chased up our sandwich and waffle. 10 mins later it arrived but not correct so I asked for the difference in price back. It took about 50mins for our sandwich and waffle to arrive. If I didn't have children with me that chose to eat here I would have left!

Vero's coffee, waffle and gelato bar is my all time favourite place to enjoy a coffee and a catch up on the morning's newspapers. It's where I take business associates from London. Situated on the corner of Union Street and Grosvenor Road, the huge glass windows catch the evening sun, making it a lovely place to enjoy a coffee or hot chocolate after work, or any time of day really. Historical pictures adorn the walls, informing us that the building was visited by members of the royal family during Victoria's reign. The decor is lovely, the proprietor is welcoming and I love the fact that he roasts and grinds his own coffee, so that I can enjoy the Vero experience at home. The waffles are good, but the Bavarian pancakes are truly exceptional. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

I decided to come here while I was in Aldershot for the day as I thought that a café specialising in waffles and gelato seemed interesting. While I enjoyed my order, neither my drink or dessert measured up to the competition. The waffles, while enjoyable, were a little disappointing given that they are supposed to be this place's signature dish. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day, but the staff didn't seem to be particularly happy and this affected both the service and atmosphere in the place. The menu here is quite different from your average café as rather than focusing on sandwiches and cakes, they have a strong focus on waffles and ice cream instead. Cakes remain available, but I only saw one on display, so there doesn't appear to be much variety on offer. Sweet and savoury crêpes are also available, with these being the only savoury item on sale here. Aside from the regular hot drinks, milkshakes made from gelato are available, while they also sell smoothies. Despite a large display counter, there didn't seem to be many different ice cream flavours on sale. Perhaps a number had sold out though, as they were wasting a lot of space otherwise. I had a tough time choosing between gelato and a waffle, but I opted for a waffle in the end as I thought that this seemed a little more irregular than gelato. My order consisted of a luxury hot chocolate and a 'Vero Waffle'.The luxury hot chocolate came first. I was expecting a 'luxury' hot chocolate to come with marshmallows and cream, like they usually do, but here it was simply cream. The cream seemed to damage the drink rather than improve it as, unlike most places where it sits on top in its entirety, some of it had mixed in with the hot chocolate, cooling it down in the process. In terms of flavour, the cream was pretty average, which meant that there wasn't a great amount of flavour to it. The chocolate powder on top of this was fantastic though, as this had a strong chocolatey flavour to it that was neither too sweet or sickly and it definitely improved the drink by a fair margin. The hot chocolate itself didn't have a great deal of froth, which was nice to see as many other places have a tendency to use far too much of this on their hot chocolates. The hot chocolate itself was reasonably average though, which meant that the chocolate flavour wasn't particularly strong, although it was reasonably sweet. Despite its shortcomings, it was an enjoyable drink, but it just simply didn't measure up to the competition. The 'Vero Waffle' came topped with cream, banana, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries and chocolate sauce. The waffle itself was fairly sweet, although not quite as sweet as the better waffles are. It was also quite thick and this meant that it seemed rather doughy at times. It also lacked any crisp or crunchy parts, with the entire thing being soft. While it tasted reasonably pleasant, it seemed a bit lacking for what was supposed to be this places signature dish. The fruit on top seemed a little better than your standard fare as they all had a fairly strong flavour to them. I was quite impressed by the blueberries as these can sometimes turn out flavourless, but each and every one was packing flavour here. The kiwi was the only disappointing fruit on offer here as all the pieces seemed to be overly hard. Perhaps it would be better if this particular fruit was served unchilled. The cream on top didn't seem to do much in terms of flavour, but it added a different texture to the dessert, tying the fruit and the waffle together nicely. The chocolate sauce on top wasn't particularly flavoursome, but this helped to add a different flavour to the dessert.Unlike most independent cafés, you pay for your order up front rather than afterwards here, although they do take your order to you at your seat rather than making you stand at the counter until it's prepared. The service here could definitely have been improved as both members of staff behind the counter seemed fairly unhappy. The menu itself doesn't explain what the various waffle titles are, so I asked the man if he could explain to me what they were. He pointed towards the counter with a rather condescending look upon his face, suggesting that I should have noticed that they were there, despite the fact that this side of the counter could not be seen from the entrance and my eyes were on the menu boards for most of the time. The other times I dealt with him, he was polite enough about everything, but the tone of his voice seemed quite miserable. Upon leaving the café I said thanks and goodbye to the female member of staff, but I did not receive a response back, which seemed rather impolite. Perhaps this isn't normal here and I simply caught them at a bad time, but they could definitely both have done a better job at masking it.In terms of value for money, the prices here seem pretty reasonable, being more or less what you would expect from a café with nothing being noticeably overpriced or underpriced. The waffles here are absolutely enormous though, being much larger than you would find in most other places. Based on this, there is definitely some good value for money to be found here.In terms of decor, there isn't a particularly great amount going on. Some walls are green, while others are white and there are some small paintings here and there preventing the place from being too plain. The café has a lot of floor space and they have done a good job at managing this well as, while there is plenty of seating available, there is also plenty of space between each table, ensuring that customers have a lot of room to feel comfortable in.

I'd heard about this place before and after moving closer I decided to go and check it out. I was blown away. The waffles are handmade and taste out of this world as do the coffees. The service was personal and friendly. Already recommended it to my friends.

Pleasant, unhurried atmosphere. Lots of choice. Felt very tempted to try to gelati. Perhaps next time!!

Visited with my daughter for a breakfast treat. She loved the waffles (good wheat free ones) covered in chocolate sauce. A good cappuccino for me.

A nice, quiet, new place in Aldershot. You can get waffles, belgian chocolates, and gelato (ice cream) here, as well as drinks. There are some nice comfy chairs and higher bar chairs. I like the waffles, and they come with fruit. The ice cream is good too, although some flavors seem a bit artificial.

For my last 2 favourite bakers my orders didn't turn up but were signed off delivered which I wasn't happy about but this sandwich was excellent. Very well made and tasty.

This place offers a promising illusion of decency and quality, but it is a long way off the mark. It is cashing-in on its enviable location beside a lake, but they have no clue about what constitutes decent food, decent service or quality. It is a DIVE! The food is dreadful and the owner is a thug! STAY WELL AWAY!!! We are here recently, it was hideous.. The quality is just awful, and they don’t care. If you raise an issue, the owner comes and gives you a mouthful. He’s not a decent guy, and this is a place best avoided!

This is a small Starbuck located on the ground floor of the Village Hotel in Farnborough. It has limited seating in the coofe shop itself, but there is seating near by that can be used to enjoy your Starbucks. All the usual coffee and different combinations and ant offers ate available, and as far as I can tell the cost are no different to other Starbucks in the local area. The coffee served here is as you have come to expect is very good. So if you are at the hotel it's nice to know that you can get your caffeine fix, right on your door sep. The only thing g to be aware of is the opening times as they are different to what you might expect.

I'm the worst person to leave a review on a pub, being tee total. Oh! And a vegetarian!...So please forgive my perspective. I love this place and the way I am always welcomed here. There is always a warm family welcome and I can't ask more than that. If you're looking for a bistro pub...Look elsewhere. This pub is the heartbeat of this community and it's menu reflects that. The food is good with plentiful portions. Long may this pub continue to be current and a success in this area.

Food is nice big portions. Be careful it might to too chill for average pallets. Make sure you check with the staff or maybe request for but tune down on the chills
