Fantastic choice of real ales, I had the scarecrow by Brimstage and a very friendly atmosphere. I didn't try the food so can not vouch for that but plenty of people were having food so I guess it must be good.

A grate hidden little charm in Liverpool City centre this pub sells Welsh beer at very good quality highly recommend .. this pub has brains beer on tap .... THIS PLACE AS GOT A new management

Been holding monthly meetings here for the past 4 years. Curry and chips is the best meal and reasonably priced. Always has an excellent selection of beers and service is always quick.

Didn't have any food but the ale was superb and great service this will be my first pub next time I'm up Liverpool worth a visit.

Travelled from Blackpool today to meet 2 of my oldest friends for a catch-up. Went to the Vernon, was made very welcome, the atmosphere was really good, the food was excellent and the staff were so polite and friendly. A credit to our home city. Thank you Jom and Barbara. I'll be back.

Visited here on a weekend trip to Liverpool. It is a nice traditional pub with really friendly bar staff, good selection of beers & spirits and a great atmosphere

Ordinarily my type of pub, a real old-fashioned boozer. Unfortunately, the larger was awful. Although the barrel was changed whilst I was being served, the Carling was flat and tasteless. My wife and I had a few mouthfuls and left the two pints to find a better pint elsewhere.

The Vernon Arms is just the type of pub that I look for, a good old fashioned boozer with some magnificent real ales on, all on top form i might add. As i expected the bar staff were really friendly and asked what sort of beer i wanted, giving me a few tasters on the way, and i went for a Cheshire Cat which was perfectly poured and went down a treat, so i had to get another as it would have been rude not to. 10 /10, a must for real ale drinkers. Ps I couldnt rate the food as i don't know if they did it.

Had drinks here recently Staff were very friendly Very laid back Kept meaning to return to sample the steak pie while we were visiting Liverpool, however, ran out of time unfortunately Great little pub!

Great pub on the corner of a lane. Good selection of beers available. Music played in the background. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that the toilet cubicle door was broken and wouldn't lock. Apart from that, no problems at all. Also friendly bar staff.

Went for a pub lunch with two friends. I was not disappointed as the food was excellent not expensive and the service was very good. I have eaten there a couple of times and will go back again. I would recommend this pub.

I love this old pub....its a proper pub .....beer selection is good....full of locals.....staff and locals are so friendly. Staff excellent. The pub lists ...like the Titanic. Thee food is just as you would have at home... cheese and ham toastie is lovely. We are from Manchester and go to Liverpool at least 3 times a year. Ways been very welcome in The Vernon Arms.

If you want a "Cheers" experience where "...you want to go where everyone knows your name"...then Vernon Arms is the place to go. Meeting the friendly and gracious owners Jimmy and his wife Barbara and their delightful team of workers and neighbors was great. The hard cider drinks and chilli con carne were awesome. I went twice to visit and had a great time each time. Definitely looking forward to coming back during my next visit to Liverpool from the States.

I would have liked to give 4 to 5 stars as the choice of beers is good and reasonably priced; the food, though unimaginative, is tasty and very good value. However, on a day when I had to stay alcohol free due to driving, I was charged £3.20 for a pint of lime and soda which is outrageous - even so called gourmet pubs rarely charge more than £2.00 - amazing how small details can sour ones opinion. Very disappointing, I'll stick to beer next time! Also, it wouldn't do any harm to use some air freshener in the gents loo.

Jim, the landlord made me feel very welcome , as a solo traveller it was great to find somewhere for a beer and a pie lunch, and feel comfortable!
