La única desventaja era que era muy ruidoso con un montón de fiestas de gente allí, pero no fue ningún problema ya que el gerente nos trasladó a una mesa más tranquila sin problema. Very nice place and attentive but food wise wasn't that pleasant. It may get away with some dishes like lasagna, but it is not authentic Italian. Ravioli were very salty this time, which is a pity. We didn't want to risk asking for dessert.

Finding somewhere that does gluten free food with a good selection and good quality is near impossible but this place delivers. My son really enjoyed his gluten free pizza, he said it was the nicest gluten free pizza he had ever had. Very reasonable prices and a beautiful atmosphere will definitely be returning.

We had reserved a table and went there for early evening meal. The staff were attentive and everything went well. We got served promptly with drinks and then waited for about 20 minutes for our first course. From where I sat I could see the kitchen staff working hard. I honestly liked that we weren't rushed between drinks and food service, and why should we? I love the idea of going for a restaurant meal and not being unduly hurried. Lovely. Food was excellent too. The only thing I couldn't work out was what the 51 stood for. 👍👍

Reservamos a última hora para un gran grupo de nosotros y eran muy serviciales. El personal era amable y atento e hizo un verdadero esfuerzo con nosotros. La comida era deliciosa y a un precio muy razonable.

Este lugar se supone que es una familia dirigida por italianos, pero la única persona que hablaba italiano era el hombre que nos saludó. Los servidores eran de diferentes nacionalidades y según uno de ellos el cocinero es albanés. Teníamos tres servidores diferentes, pero nadie pasó a preguntar si las cosas estaban bien. Tuvimos que pedir nuestras bebidas y uno de nosotros no recibió lo que se ordenó. Tuve que discutir sobre que la bebida pedida estaba en el menú (! ). Tuve que esperar la comida por un poco más de una hora. . . Cuando llegó la comida, uno de nosotros se equivocó. Este lugar es tan ruidoso que se aconseja traer tapones para los oídos. Tuvimos que hablar muy alto para escucharnos al otro lado de la mesa. No recomiendo una visita aquí y no volveremos.

Buen restaurante en una buena ubicación. Amplio menú sin gluten. Bruschetta era decente, pero la pizza era un fracaso. Para un restaurante italiano, esto definitivamente no era auténtica pizza italiana. Bang promedio. Los servidores eran encantadores, pero el servicio era muy lento.

Returning to this restaurant, having visited it last year As good as we remembered, delicious food friendly and welcoming staff. We arranged an early dinner, as we were visiting the theatre, we let the staff know, we were served very promptly the best steak cooked to ourpreferences freshly cooked veggies and a glass of red. We spent two days in Liverpool. The last night we had dinner there. They treated us very well even though we didn't have a reservation. The owner is a great host. All the food and service were delicious. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the place is decorated with very good taste. In the end we spoke a little in Italian. It was fun

The garlic bread was delicious, the pasta dishes OK, but the drinks were inconsistent. My first pornstar martini didn't come with the shot of prosecco separate, but the second one did. The service wasn't attentive enough; our whole section was left unattended quite often, so we were left waiting to order drinks (and to ask for a spoon for the spaghetti!). I gave my feedback when I paid the bill, and it was so well received that I insisted on paying the service charge.

Trattoria 51 us a top class with a real italian food and family atmosphere. Tony and his team lookafter me very well every time i go. I have been at Trattoria 51 for several years now and the quality of food and service is always the same and never change a real welcome. I highly reccomended the pizza 51 my favouritive but also you can'go wrong with any seafood dishes and also unbelivable pasta dishes. Thank you very much everyone shoud go here for a real italian treat you will not disapointed . They do also special that are great to. Thank you very much Tony and team well done never change please

Großes Lokal, sehr gemütlich, aber aufgrund der Größe und des sehr guten Besuchs natürlich auch recht laut. Der Service war fix, professionell-höflich. Speisen kamen recht zügig und waren sehr lecker. Preis Leistung sehr fair!

Comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Good service and the food was well prepared and presented, good portions. Prawn linguine and salmon tagliatelli were worth having again. Drinks, including cocktails, were chosen from a nice selection. Price represented good value. Would happily return.

Very warm welcome. Piped music appropriate and pleasant For an Italian resturant. All staff engaging/ relaxed and interested. Cocktails of the month very goid value At 8.50 and negroni choices never come across before. Specials menu as well as main menu. Portion sizes very good. Seafood pasta best had anywhere And beautifull presentation. Limited selection of wines by the glass But prices reasonable for a city establishment.

Das Ambiente ist einladend, aber durchaus verbesserungswürdig. Das Essen war leider enttäuschend, die Pizza war nicht wirklich gut. Der Teig leider viel zu dick und geschmacklich nicht besser als beim Imbiss um die Ecke. Das Personal war auch sehr gestresst, obwohl das Restaurant nicht übermäßig voll war. Die Preise waren hingegen sehr fair.

Precioso italiano auténtico. Realmente disfrutamos del ambiente y la comida que tuvimos fue hermosa desde los entrantes hasta los dulces. Pensé que el restaurante tenía un precio razonable para un restaurante en el centro de la ciudad, tanto para comida como para bebidas. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo y lo recomendaría encantado después de nuestra experiencia.

Was really looking forward to trying this place as it comes highly recommended for celiacs I expect to wait for a meal as you know then it’s fresh but to wait 2 hours for our main course is not acceptable, would of happily waited and sat having a drink but also waited 40 minutes for them to even bring the drinks, could see the chef arguing with staff in the kitchen not good when customers could see through to the kitchen, one table of customers got up to walk out as they also waited so long, The food was ok but wasn’t worth waiting 2 hours for wouldn’t go back

Absolutely gorgeous food, I have been multiple times now to try the various dishes on the menu - you can tell the chefs have a genuine appreciation for serving good quality meals, and it is very reasonably priced! Best Italian in Liverpool, and a hidden gem - I will be coming back again very soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The ambience and gentle buzz of animated chatter was a big plus - so many places are loud and echoing which makes conversation difficult, but not here. The staff worked as a team and we were well attended to. The pizza was delicious and the goats cheese salad was large and tasty. Thoroughly professional and great value for a town centre restaurant.

Went for lunch for a works do, we have been many times before. This time I ordered the lasagne from the Express menu, it came with garlic bread and side salad. The garlic bread was warm but not toasted also it was brown bread and tasteless. The lasagne tasted nice enough but it must have had half a sheet of pasta in it, 90% sauce, cheese and meat. The Express menu used to be really good with lots of choices but now there are things like a cheese and tomato small calzone and a meat focaccia sandwich. I had two courses so went for the strawberry cheesecake and this was disappointing too.

We recently visited whilst on a Hen weekend in Liverpool. The food was amazing, we picked from the party menu and it was brilliant value for money and so much food. One member of our part was gluten free and they went above and beyond to cater for her needs. The communication beforehand whilst booking from Nonno was brilliant too. If we didn't live so far away from Liverpool we would definitely be coming here again. Thank you!

We had the lunchtime special menu, £16.95 for 2 courses, absolutely delicious food, small-ish portions but great value. We're going to go back for the full menu next time. The food is authentic and home made, yummy 😋

We went last night to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. Thanks for making Eddie’s birthday so special last night. The food was amazing. Great atmosphere. Big shoutout out to Valbona for looking after us all. She took charge and made everything run smoothly. Awesome job. Had a very good time here after watching Liverpool vs Bournemouth. Members of staff are super friendly and Linguine 51 is the best pasta I have had in a while!

My first time coming here after hearing good things about the chain, but it’s disappointing to say the overall experience was mediocre at best. Took almost 2 hours to get the mains and as you can see below the standard of the food is poor and the presentation was abysmal. The staff while polite where nowhere to be seen to check up or ask if we needed more drinks had to eventually just get up to pay the bill. Just a overall bad experience.

We went on a date here today and it was lovely! The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing (risotto fungi was the best I’ve ever had). Definitely will be recommending to my friends!

This was simply very disappointing! Had high expectations that this would be genuine, Italian food. It wasn't. Pizza ok, but the crab avioli was below average. Little flavor and limp ingredients. If you only have tiny canned shrimp, you might as well leave it out for me. The price was also way too high for what we were served. The service was ok, but there was a bit of an assembly line feeling about it. Had to wait a long time for the food too. Hopefully there are many better Italian options in Liverpool.

Hadde forventninger, men ble ganske skuffet. Maten var veldig enkel, og ingen stor opplevelse. For så vidt hyggelig personale, men litt bråkjekk «hovmester». Varmt og dårlig ventilasjon. Det verste var imidlertid et voldsomt støynivå. Dårlig akustikk, og på grunn av støyen roper gjestene til hverandre, og så blir det bare verre. Ingen flere besøk der, dessverre. Skuffet!!

We went here as a family of 5, 2 adults 2 kids. Waited 45 minutes for starters...had to remind staff that starters did not arrive. I ordeted chichen as mains...it was like rubber. Pizza ok. Chef was shouting during our dinner & waitress had to close kitchen door. Would not recommend..terrible service, average food & unhappy staff.

Amazing Italian food! We have the focaccia nduja & fresh burrata as an appetizer, pizza 51, penne polo crema. The service is great, waiters are very friendly and helpful. Their cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced. They take reservations or walk in, I’d recommend a reservation for dinner Thursdays and throughout the weekend. They offer SO many gluten free options, almost their whole menu. The gluten free pasta and pizza are delicious!!!

The place may be hard to find because it's covered in scaffolding, but it's business as usual inside. Good set menu (2 courses for £16). The meatballs with crusty bread were delicious, and the pasta was good and a generous portion too. The wider menu has typical Italian fare with lots of choice. The restaurant wasn't busy at all when I came. Service was good, and the waiter kept checking in. Optional service charge is automatically included in the bill, but the waiter did state that I could remove it if I wasn't happy. They seem to genuinely care about the customer experience, which is nice 😊

Fantastic meal with friendly attentive staff & a great family style atmosphere. We had the seafood linguini, which was as good as any & gave that holiday meal feeling. Will definitely return whilst in Liverpool as every plate of food that came out the kitchen looked great. .

My husband is a coeliac (MUST eat gluten free food) and has to be VERY careful what he eats or he is very poorly. We were very warmly greeted and shown to a table even though we had not booked. When my husband said he was coeliac (gluten free), we were told 90% of the menu could be made gluten free and out waiter would talk us through it. He gave us time to read the menu whilst he fetched our drinks. My Husband said he would ask for a GF lasagne (even though it is hardly ever available gluten free without prior booking) and then would ask for something more mainstream when this was not available. When our waiter came back, my husband asked for a GF lasagne and was told this would be fine but we would have to wait a little longer as it would take time to prepare. We were both in shock from this answer and my husband became quite giddy! You will understand if you are a coeliac. We still went over the menu and were told the ravioli could not be made GF and that the bread board offered as a starter was also not a great option as there was very little choice in the way of GF breads in general. I chose a ‘normal’ main course of Porchetta. When both meals came out, they looked amazing and tasted incredible. My husbands lasagne was a very large portion and no pattern was left on the dish! My Porchetta meal was outstanding, the pork was so succulent and the mashed potatoes and vegetables were delicious. Although we both had very filling main courses, we were on holiday and so went wild and had deserts. I had the Tiramisu and my husband had the brownie. There were about four or five GF pudding options available, which was really lovely to see, but he does love a chocolate pudding. We also had two lattes that were the exact right drinkable temperature and not the usual scold you mouth attempt at a milky coffee. We really loved our visit here and the staff and chefs should be commended on their service and food. We would visit here far too much for it to be healthy if we lived nearer!!!!

Won't be going back there. They forgot 3 starter meals (party of 11). They forgot to take 2 mains orders! Food was nothing to write about, and they still charged us gratuity (£39!)

This is Fabulous restaurant serving really nice tasty food.My wife is gluten free and this was no trouble what so ever for the waiter and staff no fuss just great food I will definitely go back Thankyou for making our evening enjoyable.

The restaurant was warm and inviting, and the portion sizes were very good. Sadly that is the good vibes coming to an end, the restaurant was let down by the quality of the food. The first Caesar salad I had to return as it was more Caesar sauce than salad and the chicken was tough. I think maybe precooked and warmed. The second salad had totally the wrong lettuce type, it was a leafy green leaf, not a crunchy romaine or Cos lettuce and the Chicken was equally as tough. If you can't get a salad edible after two attempts, then it says a lot. I did not eat the second version either.

Beautiful Italian meal in nice restaurant with attentive service

Went when it was very busy, felt quite rushed and was sat rather cramped into a corner. Food was unfortunately average, partners spaghetti was very bland.

Went early mid week and the restaurant was busy which is always a good sign, great service from all staff and delicious food

Superb food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. The staff kindly changed our table to accommodate my wife who has mobility issues. We will be back next time we’re in Liverpool!

What a shame that we didn’t enjoy our meals. If it had been just one or two disappointments then I would have given a higher score but it was numerous reasons. Also be aware that 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill despite them not giving great service.

The name may be 51, but on my first pre theatre visit, I soon discovered to my pleasure that there are no half measures in this tremendous trattoria! From the moment I walked through the entrance, I was transported into the spacious interior of this traditional trattoria, my senses alive to the sound of 1980’s pop tunes as I was greeted by the pleasant restaurant staff, and offered the choice of a table either by the windows or near the bar underneath the various pictures of stylish black and white prints on the walls. The colourful Fiat Uno and the Italian Vespa are the vehicles of choice in this warm treasure of a restaurant as you take a journey through the splendour of Italy on a plate. The menu is extensive with a wide selection of main courses including a tempting array of artisan pasta dishes, but there was one that stood out from the rest with its pincers coated in a sublime cream tomato prawn and dill sauce. The delicious crab ravioli was bursting with colour and flavour, accompanied by a generous portion of chunky chips, I couldn’t resist attempting to relive the moment by capturing the image for posterity before diving into my gargantuan portion of pasta washed down with a Rossini cocktail which was glowing with fruit and flavour. Jeans straining at the belt, I was offered coffee or dessert and feasting my eyes on the delectable choices on offer including the ubiquitous favourite Tiramisu, I plumped for the Florentine domed delight Zuccotto which was the piece de resistance of the meal. My eyes were as large as my belly on this occasion as I managed to polish off this ancient delight with relish, before spending a penny in the classically inspired conveniences admiring the high ceilinged elegance. Having paid my bill, I glanced around at the top tier of the restaurant with ornate high ceilings, and its spacious tables perfect for a group booking or a special occasion. As a regular solo diner, I highly recommend 51 for liberal measures of food, and flavour in what was a festive atmosphere during the early part of the day, an ideal place to fill your boots before frequenting one of the jazz bars on and near Old Hall Street or for some pre shopping or theatre fuel. Buon appetit!

Staff were really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious (we all had different pasta dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal. Cheesy garlic bread was great too and perfect for 2 people.

We had an amazing time at Tratoria 51. The staff treated us very well and the food followed the same pattern of them. We highly recommend this and on our next visit to Liverpool definitely we will have a go at Tratoria 51 again.

It was heavy rain in Liverpool on Saturday night, I needed a filling meal the day before the Liverpool Half Marathon at the Pier Head nearby. I had seen the reviews for Trattoria 51 and turned up without a booking. The food and service was exceptional. My dad has said on several occassions the snapper he had was one of the best meals ever. This is a real first-class establishment. I really am looking forward to returning again soon. The specials menu, and the regular menu, are both spectacular. Thanks to the lovely staff for an incredible evening - we have lovely memories of our visit.

Went here with my 10 year old son, as I was in the mood for a pizza & was staying in the hotel next door. I honestly can't think of anything I would have done to improve the food. Even the chips were absolutely divine. Both my son & I left extremely satisfied with the meal we just had. Lovely looking restaurant as well. Didn't feel like it was overpriced, either. Will definitely return.
