Venus Foods in Manchester

Their kebabs were very hard and dry and could not be eaten, their rice was very loose and watery, it didn't look like rice and we poured it whole into the bucket. Then you ordered a fish, which was worse than the kebabs, and when we asked the staff why they said the food like this, our chefs here It's not and it's 19:00 now!!! This was our last meal at this restaurant and I would like to give them 0 stars, which is too much.

Really nice Turkish and middle eastern grocery store with restaurant. Mostly I get what I need when I visit as this place has bakery, meat, vegetables in addition to the other groceries and the restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The prices are always good. You can find parking easily around the place and there are a bus stop opposite to it.

One thing prices are tooo high the other thing staff don’t know which things are available or not and they are selling expired products and in veg section some fruits are also rotten and the store manager his attitud is on next level even he don’nt know how to talk with staff and kindly please change ur manager

Very dirty shop and rotten goods .They are unhonest as they print a fake valid expiry date on a rotten and fungused goods.custmoer service is too rubbish and rude.I don't recommend. I bought lots of goods and when I back home I found most of them are literally rotten and when I back to the shop again the refused to change them nor get me refund. Disgusting!! Anyway I reported them to custom protection to stop selling people expired and rottend goods . The custom protection will fine them a lot and might take more action and colse that dirty shop as I have sent all evidences and photos of every thing that I claimed.

Specially for the boss who hold this mart kindly train your manager he is very rude and don’t know how to talk with the ladies very rude behaviour even my one of my family friend going for job his behaviour is very rude and he said u can come next week and when she going next week he said u can come next month please teach ur managers how to deal with the ladies…..😓🥲

This place used to be a night club called the sting, met my wife there 40 years asked if we could have champagne and candles without hesitation said yes, we also had a 1st class top notch meal , the staff and there food is 1st class . Thankyou so much the people of Venus foods

If you’ve got collection from this place be careful and check it before hand it. Otherwise your money will be waste it. I would not recommend it. (Except some chef)

A good place for shopping with a restaurant with amazingly delicious food

My wife and I took my five year old granddaughter to this amazing place one Sunday morning for food ,we sat in the sun with fresh spicey lamb and warm bread with side salad this food was some of the best I've tasted in a very long time and believe me it was value for money very reasonable,will be definitely returning.

I left the store without buying anything, as they didn’t have what I was looking for, and was asked to have my bag checked on the pavement outside. I declined only to be grabbed and shoved around when I tried to walk away. When my bag was then searched I didn’t get any apology from the man pushing me around. It wouldn’t have been acceptable even if I did steal! Seemed like an excuse for the man to throw his weight around. I’m not a big person and it seemed acceptable to him to shove me around because he was bigger and I couldn’t get away. If your store has so much theft, and you think that is acceptable, maybe think of hiring security guards who know how to handle things like that better.

Chicken shish is a 10/10 dish. Been coming here for years. The Turkish bread in the supermarket is also incredible

Loads of out of date/mouldy products on shelves, seen multiple people coming back asking for refunds and being refused. Staff screaming and arguing with the customer even though the customer was completely calm. Friend was assaulted by 2 male workers because they thought he had shoplifted something. Forcibly held him and took his bag from him to search it.

New people really made a change to this place. Food is always fresh and quality is very high. Hygiene is excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone that I know .

As someone who grew up in Istanbul this is my favourite spot to buy Turkish groceries. But after today’s lunch I wanted to give it an actual review as the food was the best since I’ve been going there - Adana kebab was great, rice was just like back in Turkey and pide fresh, tasty and amazing! Keep it up arkadaşlar!

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Venus and when I come to the till she greeted me with a warm and welcoming smile. I am new to the location and have some questions about public transport . The young Turkish lady at the till and student like me was really helpful. She answered my questions apart from shopping.

Good place to buy few authentic turkish and Iranian items mainly. Also they have a restaurant under same name and food is tasty. It's more crowded with ramadan. I love the fresh bread

We like to do a bit of shoping at Venus, it's a great place to find authentic and unusual ingredients especiallyfor Middle Eastern cuisine. Whilst there a visit to the onsight restaurant is a must. The food is good and excellent value. My lamb seekh was moist and delicious as was the chicken shish.

The last time I went to Venus was just after COVID. I used to do all my food and other necessary shopping and often used to take my family the takeaway for food. I also used to invite friends for some quick food. However my last experience completely changed my opinion about the store. I went with friends and I ordered lamb donor. As soon as it was placed on the table. The smell of off meat was horrendous. I asked the customer service provider who was wearing big thick glasses to replace with something else, he served me with lamb donor again saying that this is different donor. I asked him to give different food such as chicken, veg or salad except lamb donor. However not only he did not serve different food, did not refund me. I raised the issue with management and management and he could refund me and said, don’t worry when I come next time, he would sort me out. What a service!!! I have informed many of my friends about this disgraceful service and will continue to do so. Only to make sure that they don’t get treated this way. I have always been in support of local community and local shops although sometimes the prices are a bit expensive then chains, but definitely not support of Venus Turkish supermarket anymore.

A lot of choice of food but always on cashier need to ask for more and more bags . Stuff for 60 quid and 3-4 plastic bags theyr giving us only 1 . Shame

Overall it's a nice supermarket some products are very expensive compared to other shops, but one thing I must say some products are priced wrong & I've been experiencing this for years hence my edited review, for example sarikiz drinks labelled on shelf £2.49 when you get to the till they charge you £3.20, this is just 1 example of many times I've been over charged somebody is not doing their Job properly or either that or there just ripping ppl off... Big let down tbh.

Came here for more than 3 times so you can say I’m a regular customer here. However, each time I come here I don’t feel welcomed, the staff here are so arrogant and really don’t know how to communicate with customers except one Syrian waiter, he was nice to us. The only thing that makes me come back is the food, the food is nice and delicious. My favourite is the chicken shawarma, I don’t recommend the lamb shawarma. I have tried the Leeds Venus and they had the same treatment. I don’t know how the managers here treat their staff but definitely not nicely.

They don't pay taxes... Paid with card even when he encouraged me to pay with cash. When asked for receipt he gave me one where i essentially paid £0. Yeah, they don't pay taxes.

I go to the shop pick out an item and it is set at 1 pound then I go to the cashier it is turned into 3 pound. I hope you will fix this problem.

The worst food I have ever eaten. The kebab was very hard and dry. The chicken was very raw and undercooked. The rice was hard and dry. Very bad. I do not recommend eating here at all. One star is even too much.

Amazing for Turkish groceries, and the restaurant attached is fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Definitely everything for every Eastern European, Middle Eastern or Asian person 😋 great range of products with more likelihood of finding actual organic fruit and vegetables.

Chicken skewers with fresh bread was cooked well, hummus and olive oil was delicious and high quality, Turkish bread was lovely although quite thick Chicken donner was a let down, tasted and smelt old. Service is efficient and quick.

I used to get the Turkish bread from there, but they aren't nice as they used to be.You could be buying hot bread ,but it's reheated lef over from previous days.

Amazing Eastern European supermarket. Lots of foods in flavours not found in the UK. Wonderfully fresh pastries (savoury and sweet ) and breads. So many different pickles, pastes and chutneys. Meats and sausages, cheeses galore. An absolute wonderland. Could not see any form of insect killer and noticed quite a few flies, hence the 4* rating but it won’t stop me from going again.

Came in for a late lunch with a friend. Haven’t been for quite some time and the layout has changed to make more seating area I guess. Chose the mixed doner plate. Good sized portion. Meat and chicken were cooked well. Slightly on the salty side for my liking but overall a good meal. Drinks are a selection from the fridge so a simple affair. As the restaurant forms part of the supermarket, it makes a handy place to start before doing your shopping. Parking spaces around the corner but can be limited when busy. You might find more space further along the side streets.

We came in for a happy family meal, what you may have there will not give you any joy. The resturant's staff are grumbly and hostile. They have no temper for anything. Will share a photo for what they sell a double chicken burger !!! And they get rude when just comment 🤔

10/10 bananas. I just had a banana from here and it was the most perfectly ripe banana I've ever had. It had a beautiful sweetness and the texture was melt-crumble in the mouth. I don't usually leave reviews for places, but the banana was so amazing I had to do something about it and my friends don't talk to me anymore!

this place has really gone downhill. dined here twice in the last few months, and come away really disappointed. kebabs are over cooked and chewy, rice is boring and it’s not cheap anymore. ordered hallumi for starter…4 thumb sized pieces came…on a huge salad. rip off! bread was stale. the only thing we love is the cacik. try the baklava in the bakery at the back of the supermarket….delicious! this makes up for the food in the eatery.
