Istanbul Turkish Cuisine in Manchester

Had to leave a review as the management definately need a shake. Grubby place which needs a clean. At the start all seemed nice and friendly but they got my order wrong so when complained they said they will make what i ordered and theyl get back what they gave by mistake. Think it was the manager who came up with the lamb in a plate and rudely put it on the the plate and literally snatched the kobeda off. It was absolutely next level rudeness. There are ways he could have just taken the plate . Pay good hard earned money to be treated like that. Would never go back. The floor staff cant fault them . Nice and polite. But im definitely not used to behaviour like that.

The food is good but they are a bit rigid. I got a chicken kofte for take away and asked for no bread but two of the mini salad containers instead, which sounds reasonable right. The lady at the till refused and said I would have to pay extra for more salad. I was still charged the same price I would’ve paid if I was to get the bread with it btw 👎 There’s a lot of similar restaurants on Curry Mile that sell pretty much the same thing so it’s important for a business to retain customers and to keep the customers coming back to them. Unfortunately for Istanbul, I’m probably not going back there or recommending them to anyone else.

Went in with no recommendation, but just that the menu looked good. First of all the staff served me with a smile. Ordered the Qabuli Pulao and Lahmacun. I was handed a huge takeout bag which was still hot after a long drive home. My family was not disappointed. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Portions were big. The pulao was cooked beautifully and not excessively spiced, it was just as it should be. There was a lot of tender meat for one portion, and the quality of the rice was top class. The lahmacun was delicious and loved by my young children as it was soft and again full of flavour. It came with two types of shop made sauces - chilli, and mint yogurt. The restaurant also surprised us with a free tub of some type of stew. I wish I knew what it was because I would’ve ordered a whole pot full, it was so good. The food is worth more than what we paid. Definitely going back here, I highly recommend it. This restaurant is a gem when you feel like you’re spoilt for choice on Wilmslow Road.

Filthy Toilets no tissue was not upto standard. Urine on floor wouldn't be going there again.

I have ordered qabily rice.... Quantity wise it is worth the price... But the taste is just ordinary... I guess as an indian who prefer flavour... The rice lack flavour (same for the lentil soup) I guess some other shops in rusholme (dont want to name any) has more flavour in rice compared to this... But still I would say... The quantity is worth the price... I couldnt even finish it.

i love grill chicken ok , and this is one of the best so far i eat in England the Afghanistan rice is special and tasty today i will go again i am from Malaysia , lots of good food in Malaysia , so i am a foodie and u can trust this review go for the whole chicken (11 pound) + 4 pound for rice , is best price in UK i cant finish another half chiecken so i bring hotel and microwave it later

Waste of time Food was undercooked had no flavour very bland! Well not worth the money (£17) Staff were great and its a nice dine in area shame about the food.

I’ve ordered a portion of chicken wings which comes with salad and Turkish nan bread for take out and asked for rice instead of bread he said that I have to pay extra £1 for the rice and I agreed. Came home there was no rice but a piece of nan. Poor customer service Not happy

me my family and an english couples, our family friend for dinner. upstair is clean, thats all. food was not tasty. they not providing jug water, 2small bottle water charged 3 pound[ nest door Jaffa providing jug water with food for free] and2 small portion of chips £ 7 . they said this is our big portion. we laugh, imagine how is small portion. salad very poor. we couldnt understand a side curry that i piece of potato and meat born. first we think any vegetable curry. really waist we spend around £50.

So jaffa was next door and it closed. I was forced to eat at Istanbul Turkish cuisine, as it was nearly closing and I finished work super late, I thought I'd order something fast so I don't put them out, I ordered something simple, you can't really get it wrong. But these guys got donner and chips wrong. They gave me hard donner, it's wasn't even crunchy, just hard. Disgusting, it hurt as it went down my throat. They knew what they gave because when I asked to eat in they all screamed no we are closing, even thought i asked what time do you close and they said 1am, it was midnight. I had a full hour to eat my hard donner and chips. Long story short, don't eat here. Its Disgusting food and the guys making the food must be disgusting too, to let me take this home. If anyone decides to go in tomorrow please allow them to read this review, so they don't do it to anyone else... thank you

These guys really know what they are doing and they 'v got it down to a T. The donner and the Lamb chops were just out of this world.Kunefa just like the really good ones I had tasted in Turkey.We will be back and thank you guys for being so near.I ll be here at least once a week.Keep up the good work.

We ordered chicken kobide with cheese and Köfte kebab both were dry, tasteless and it felt like you were eating plastic 😕 the portions were too small and rice was not fresh as well and they didn’t even had a heater in their salon Terrible experience!!! Don’t come back again! Waste of money and time, it’s cheaper than other restaurants in Rusholme but it taste worse than others!

Never had a bad meal at this place , fresh, well cooked food , flavours are all there in the chicken, rice , kebabs, spot on, can't fault it

Ordered takeaway. Wish I hadn’t. Considering the pizzas which the kids had was covered in melted cheese, it was impressive to have zero taste of cheese on any of them. Chicken and donner kebab was dryer than the surface of the moon and almost certainly 4.5 days old. And the rice was distinctly microwaved to perfection. All in all. Its a no from me with a dash of absolutely never again.

One of the oldest establishments than your newer istanbul restaurant this is my go to place for grilled food. The place is family friendly and staff are always serving with a smile and just feels like your at home. I usually go for the share platter for 2 or depending on the group size The food is always on point and all fresh off the grill. The lentil soup is always perfect and very flavourful aswell as the food, You get the full salad all fresh and the sauces. A service is always good in my eyes when the food is brought to the table that just hits the nail on the head with the service. Price is average or bit pricey now that everything has gone up but its worth every penny.

I have tried many places on Wilmslow Road but this has to be the worst one!!! The servers behind the counter are rude, impatient and mostly clueless. The Doner kebab dish was cold and almost certainly old and simply reheated. I just ate half the portion and didn't complain as the servers are so rude that it just wasn't worth the effort. I, not surprisingly, had an upset stomach the next day. I guarantee that if the Hygiene Patrol visited this place, it would be immediately shut down. Obviously, the worst meal ever prompts me to advice avoiding this place like the Plague!!!

Food sometimes good but sometimes not very. Lahmacun that previously was very delicious was the worst a few days ago.

It was a pathetic experience. We ordered a medium platter and a pizza. After a long wait the platter came incomplete with Chicken Kebabs missing. On notifying, the waiter came with the kebabs literally hiding behind her and asking ‘are you sure you did not get the kebabs’ as if I was lying. Anyhow, the pizza was also missing and never came and when i went to the reception to complain the staff was having a verbal fight for misplacing the orders; the pizza never came after an hour of waiting and i had to cancel the pizza. The staff was rude and unprofessional. The food is expensive and not worth the cost

When I used to go to this place they would give out soop for free and now they charge money for soop and the prices has gone up before inflation and now the food doesn’t taste nice anymore very bad customer service you should treat customers with respect

Absolutely disgusting, such a disgrace. I come here on Eid with my family just to use a cup that was washed by a toddler. The cup is extremely dirty which makes me want to vomit. Trust me if you want to come, please don’t at it will ruin your evening.

Tried their chicken doner kebab and it was too salty couldn’t eat. When we asked the guy he was being rude and said we can’t do anything we served 3 more but no one complained a very bad experience indeed overall. Can’t eat leaving it here

Disgusting. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING FRESH FOOD, do not be fooled. Stale bread, hard as rock. Kebab not cooked properly, old salad and lentil soup is water consistency. AVOID! Oh and not to mention if you call them, they are extremely unprofessional and rude.

The guy taking orders was rude for no reason! Typical racist and defensive attitude when you want to ask a few questions about the food before ordering. He expected me to show up and order like I knew the menu. The food was very ordinary, much better options available with friendlier staff nearby.

One of my favorite take away place in Manchester. Very reasonable price and the chicken wings just so tasty!

DON'T ORDER, STAFF EXTREMELY RUDE. I ordered a kebab and it was dry/ not fresh (you could see the dried pieces) so I told the guy and he ignored completely, businesses as such don't deserve to remain open. Reported to Council as well.

Firstly this is not a turkish restaurant but an Afghani restaurant with Afghani staff running a restaurant in the name of Turkish Cuisine. Food was undercooked and COMPLETELY TASTELESS.

Firstly, the staff here are very friendly. The food is served with high standards and it’s definitely worth a try. The best place to leave with satisfaction in this area.

The is prepared in a unique way that that l love all the food are Grill to perfection l try almost all the dishes, and the all taste lovely 10 Out of 10, with a five star, all the food from Turkey, is available right here at the curry miles. Visited here twice now and both times very disappointed with the custeromer service. Asking questions about the meals and food is a very big problem like he'd rather have a fight with you then answer the questions. No customer service at all. Not listening when ordering my food and bringing wrong rice dishes out but not worth telling these guys as they dont want to hear it!. Waiter starts clearing your plates as people are still eating at the table making you feel very rushed. Overall food over priced and no customer service I will not be returning to this shop ever again!!!

Time 8:30 pm at night one family 👪 has birthday for his daughter and he booked in your restaurant for A dining table for the cake, his daughter’s birthday is celebrated in your restaurant. You canceled their reservation in the restaurant when the family arrived at the restaurant and created a problem and dealt with them with a lack of respect and politeness with the father, his wife, his daughter and his child and was his daughter and his child crying and you kicked them out of the restaurant all them and also, all the customers in the restaurant did not respect him, unfortunately your dealings with customers and the family was bad Much. The grills are over-priced and not worth what you pay for them. The kofta is undercooked and salty and the shish was not cooked properly and i had to spit out a raw bit from the meat. Don’t waste your money here.

Had dinner in Istanbul with friends and the quality of food was amazing. Very delicious and well cooked Kebab. The rice was very tasty. The service and they way our order was taken was very professional and with good attitude. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to others and would rate it 5 out of 5.
