We ask them for the food but the food was quite less in quantity this is our very bad experience and they didn't accept thier mistake The customer services pretend to be as manger but they didn't feel any guilty and didn't do any apologise regarding to their behavior which was very rude.

My mum ordered the food from them It was very horrible The staff was also very rude and doing arguments and didn’t accept their mistake at all The food was quite less in quantity we are very disappointed they charge us for the full food but we didn’t receive it as we ordered

i came from stoke for a meal seeing the food online it looked decent, the food was bland and dry- the curry had a bitter lemon pepper taste, the curry itself wasn’t spicy but there was no other flavour besides the spice. The naan was dry and thin. The kebabs were also dry and not much flavour. The Meat in the curry contained very small bones that were not visible and several times i bit down and into a bone this could also be a potential choking hazard as we didn’t know the curries contained bones.

My Husband and I booked a table for 3 for Iftaar for us and our toddler. We were seated on a very crammed small table which looked like a table for 1 in my opinion. I am also 5 months pregnant for context. It was a busy ramadhan evening and can totally understand how busy and stressful it can get at such a time. However, it is not appropriate to overbook if unable to cater for space. We were fasting and travelled a hour on the day for this booking. We ordered the Tawa, gol gappay and Chaat. The Tawa comes extremely hot and took all of the table space, barely anywhere to squeeze in our dinner plates, drinks or anywhere to put a plate for my toddler. I literally had my dinner plate in my lap! She did end up touching the tawa and burning her finger - tried to avoid as much as possible and did warn the people who placed us at this table about the safety hazard. The food was nice but felt this whole experience ruined the meal for me. We expressed our concerns and dissatisfaction numerous times and no one seemed to care. We would have left but had practically no chance of getting a table anywhere else due to being iftaar time. Don’t think I’ll ever come here again…

Absolutely one of the best Tawa’s we have eaten , beautiful different spice mixes in all meats and fish will definitely be returning Thank You

Yesterday i had a mixed experience from visiting Camel One! First of all we didn’t realise it’s an Indian Restaurant, thought it’s Afghani/Turkish restaurant. However, when we saw the Pakistani flag we were confused where we're now! Though, these are not important. Camel one is gorgeously decorative, color combination and atmosphere inside is maybe not the finest, but definitely upto the mark. Comes to food, we ordered Tawa for 2, it was mouthwatering, truly. Lamb chops were small, could be more well done. Can't complain about the food as it was more than enough for two person. Let's talk about service. Maybe only the manger can take orders! Such a weird thing i've realised. We were told to be seated in a tiny table but wherever we ordered our food the changed our table to a bigger one which we really appreciate. But there were staff's who might take orders, waited for their manager to come and deal with this. However, no problem with that. Service could be much better in terms of different ethics. Overall, my personal experience was fantastic. Really loved it. Definitely gonna come again.

After seeing Camel One’s mouthwatering dishes on social media, I decided to visit and try their specialty tawa. I had high expectations, and I have to say, they delivered on that front! The tawa was flavorful, well-presented, and lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t entirely smooth. One of the starters we ordered lacked flavor and was missing ingredients. We brought this to the attention of the waitress early on, hoping for a quick resolution. However, it became clear that this feedback was not communicated to the kitchen or management, leading to an unnecessary issue when settling the bill. Instead of a seamless dining experience, we had to explain the situation again at the end of our meal. While the owner eventually agreed to remove the starter from the bill, the lack of communication from the customer service team left a sour taste. Overall, while the food (especially the tawa) was impressive, the service experience would make me think twice about returning. A little more attentiveness from the staff could have turned this into a top-tier dining experience.

Opposite the sleek, Instagram-perfect Cafe Begum, where diners carefully angle their forks for the perfect selfie, sits a true institution of Wimslow Road, Camel One. This takeaway has stood the test of time, and for good reason. As I tore into my gloriously filthy, borderline immoral donner kebab with my bare hands, I glanced across the street at the delicate nibbles and polite sips happening over there.. By the time I was finished, my smile was wider than anyone’s at that fancy restaurant. Maybe they had elegance, but I had satisfaction and probably more sauce on my face than they had in their entire meal. And you know what? I had the time of my life.

Used to go this place 15 years ago...was brilliant then...but now it's overpriced and horrendous...

The lady serving the food charged me £4.95 for a pickle tray which I did NOT ORDER. The food was decent but very OVERPRICED A group of friends who visited this restaurant a few days before were charged for a dish which they did NOT ORDER! Always look at the receipt before paying !! Won’t be returning

Ordered a red donner kebab and found multiple maggots inside the kebab. This seriously needs looking into. This place needs to be closed down immediately for the health and safety of the public.

I entered this place for the first time, and bought lamb curry and pilau rice. The rice was completely gone bad! Couldn't even keep the lid open because of how bad it was smelling. I called them to request a refund but not answer yet. The lamb was plain.. Not going back for sure!

I've tried many takeaways, but this one stands out. The dishes are consistently delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and spices. Tash, our waiter, was prompt and ensured the food arrived hot and well-packaged. Definitely the best in town!

Ordered Aloo Methi but it just seemed to be a few potatoes, lots of oil and thousands of peas. Didn't see any Methi. What a waste of money.

This place was sooo bad. We thought the food would be nice as the decor was really lovely but this is why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. As soon as we walked in there It gave off bad vibes , the staff was very unwelcoming and made us feel out of place. We still decided to give the food a try and first we ordered mango lassis. They got it from the fridge so we don’t know how long it had been there but it was very lumpy and flavourless so I had to keep stirring whilst all the staff was staring at me. We ordered a smash beef burger meal which was atrocious and by the end of the meal we felt like we wanted to vomit , we couldn’t even finish it. Overall the experience here was disgusting, 0/10 would not recommend

Go to kebab shop in Manchester. Dine in and all fresh food including home made sauces. Range of starters & curries look good and are popular, but I haven’t tried personally. Food and service can vary depending on what staff members are on in daytime. Naan breads are as light as a feather and lamb tikka / donner mix was excellent on this visit. Good value for money too. Would recommend.

The red donner is quite nice, but the chilli sauce is bad. They literally just mix chilli powder with water and call it sauce

Went for ther Red donner and the guys tried to give us old stesmed donner from the pot not sure how long it was there for when i said give us fresh cut one his face dropped anyway when it turned up ir was dry and bland best thing i ate was the cucumber anyway avoid

I go there staff no good and specially they cheat their customers I will suggest everyone to take proper recipt and invoice from them because otherwise they will charge you more I face this be careful

Great food and service was really good

I had a portion of samosas to start and had chilli sauce and mint yoghurt on them. The chilli sauce was so salty I could hardly eat it. I scraped off my samosas and managed to salvage them. The samosas were quite nice apart from the edges of the pastry that were almost too tough to chew. I had mixed seekh and chicken tikka kebab on naan. The seekh was very dry and over cooked. The chicken was nice though. I avoided the chilli sauce having had it on my samosas. The kebab was served on a plastic naan tray, with no plate, so as I ate it the sauces dripped straight through on to the table which was pretty inconvenient. Years ago this was my go-to kebab stop in Rusholme. I'll try somewhere else next time.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Food was AWFUL!! Got a mixed Doner & Chicken seekh on Naan. The Doner meat was hard & chewy like they gave me last nights leftovers out of the Pot🤮. Salad was poor. All looked the same colour. The nicest thing was the Yoghurt sauce. Stay away if it’s nice Food you are after!! Shocking

If you want to get ripped off this is the place to be! I had ordered one Camel one platter, which was decent and two Aryans, which are £1 on the menu. On going to pay, we had been told we had been served the £3.50 "mango lassi glass" which was supermarket milk poured into a plastic milkshake cup. Even though he acknowledged we ordered Aryan the arrogant bozo insisted we pay - having been Ramadan, close to suhr time and having travelled 5 hours, I hadn't the energy to argue. The second kitchen at the back looks like a throwback to a WW2 field hospital.

I really like the grilled food option here. Seriously can anyone name a better place for Sheek Kebab on Naan on the Curry Mile in Rusholme other than Camel One?

Tasty food. Real taste like Lahori style, or Mian g Hasanabdal. I found this taste after 7 years. No sweet sauce in Karahi. Every thing ordered found tasty. Nice addition in my future list.

Tawa for 2 was spot on, tasty food👏. Just recommend Diners to bring their own drinks, we had paid £5.40 for a glass bottle of Irn Bru.

I used to love this place as a student, took my son last night for a late night snack. Salt. Not sure why anything on a lamb shish needs salt but the entire kebab just tasted of hideous salt. Absolutely disgusting.

Got lamb chops karhai , onion rice & naan . Naan was good , rice was awful and the lamb chops very very chewy . The sauce itself had 1/2 inch of oil on top literally ..

Got the camel one special, asked if it come with donner he said yes. It doesn't, but when it arrived he did give me some separate. Seek kebab was decent, chicken tikka ok, the lamb tikka was awful! Went about 4pm, surely must be from the night before as it tasted off. The chilli sauce tasted very strange too. Normally a decent place to go.

Camel one in rusholme is an awful restaurant....I had ordered a mixed tandoori or grill platter, it was yuck ! With too little quantity and zero quality along with stale salad and yucky chips !!!! Wasted money !!!!

Went to Camel after a very long time. The samosas came out cold and had to warmed up! Then the Lamb Karahi was lacking lamb. I can understand times are hard but if you order a Lamb Karahi you expect a decent amount of Lamb! A bit disappointed to say the least!

The inside is ghetto but is the opposite of the food which is packed with punches of taste. This takeaway would put many kebab shops on Wimmy and Stockport Road to shame. However I have to say the service and the workers attitude is atrocious. The cashier tried to cheat me out of a few quid. And the others were vaping and smoking in the kitchen near food! The food is overpriced and the portions are small. I would recommend you to go to the vast variety of other kebab shops in the Curry Mile. Hopefully the workers incompetence can be improved

The food that i bought was ok but not too good. The guy had a rude sign posted for customers which i didn't like and it kind of reflected the owner's attitude as well. He later was trying to cheat me on the bill by saying something and then giving the bill with an added amount. On asking for explanation, he returned the balance. There are other much better restaurants in this area.

The curry was liking every where in the delivery bag. I did not receive the order. I sent it back.

The taste was quite distinct than what I had in the past from other restaurants but it was still okay. Samosa was alright. But the huge let down was the smell from the food. There was a smell of fresh chicken from chicken in biryani and curry had sour or tangy smell. Moreover the packaging was bad too. The curry sauce was spilled all over the bag.

Dishonest workers Ordered a MIXED shashlick to takeaway, when I got home it was a chicken curry. Too late to return as we came from Oldham. Rang up the next day as we got home pretty late, the guy on the phone said to come down and he will give us the correct order to compensate. Went down the next day and the man behind the counter refused to acknowledge his mistake. Told him we came from Oldham as the man on the phone told us to. The man at the counter started arguing and refused to provide the order. Waste of journey, no morals, paid more for a mix shashlick, no refund or food provided. So disgusted by them.

Used to come here as a student all the time, 20 years ago! We were in the area and came back for a kebab recently. Loved it. Good quality meat, tasty and not too greasy. We decided to sit in and eat it and it was pleasant enough.

Food was awful in quality and taste, and portion sizes were really small. Person in charge has a very arrogant and condescending attitude, and also rude to staff in front of customers. Curry advertised for £11 on digital signage on window (still there and been on for a long time). We pointed to the sign and ordered, after finishing he charged us more on the bill. When questioned about the bill, he very condescendingly said the sign is old and prices have changed (didn’t tell us this when ordering and when we pointed to signage when ordering). We informed him that’s false advertising, he didn’t care! Absolute thief! Didn’t offer refund, and didn’t care when we mentioned why he hasn’t turned the sign off or changed it. Never want to go back and wouldn’t recommend. Would give lower than one star if I could. (I want to mention this used to be an okay restaurant a few years ago but has gone really downhill since the last time we visited a very long time.)

I'm sorry to say that we didn't have a nice eating experience here. Three of us ate burnt kebabs. I really felt like complaining but was in a hurry to leave. The naans were delicious but the chicken and lamb shish were not just singed but actually burnt. From a kebab seller you would expect much better. BTW, I used to frequent this restaurant over 28 years ago as a student at MU, so was reminiscing about this kebab shop. I hope it was a one-off.

My first visit here was 5 years ago and had some really great experiences - fresh food and great service. Since returning however, the food is dry and really bad quality, the guy that runs it is always too busy on his phone and provides really bad service. Won’t be returning again.

Only gets 2 stars because of it opening late and being clean. Donner was cold, portions were small but salad was good and fries were fresh. Ok if nothing else is open near by. But if your going during the day i wouldn't recommend it.

Camel One is one of those places that has been a Wilmslow Rd staple for a long time. We have eaten many times here and usually you get a good quality curry. More recently, last couple of times even though the food has still been good the service has declined. In particular the attitude of the staff is extremely sexist. Last time I visited, there were 2 wait staff that were doing something and didn't acknowledge me, I was first in line when 2 men walked in. Both male waiters asked each of the men for their order whilst totally ignoring me even though I was there first. A third waiter realised what they had done and sheepishly asked for my order. On this visit, I went in with my husband and even though I was closest to the guy on the till and was about to order, they totally ignored me once again and asked my husband what he wanted to order. We decided to go for a chicken curry with roti and the samosas on display looked delicious so we decided to opt for a meat and a veg samosa too - all to take home. When we got home the curry was absolutely delicious - couldn't fault it at all and it was extremely tasty. The samosas however were not great. They didn't look anywhere as nice as the shop either. It was clear that they had picked out some that didn't look anywhere as near as appetising as the shop. The summary is that the food is good but they need to get better at seeing their female customers and not just the men. For how they made me feel as a customer I can only give them 2 stars. Had it been based on the food (curry only) it would have been a 4.

I used to go in years ago still as nice as it was good food

Order a large sheek kabab got a small one ordered 2 diet coke didn't get them. Contacted the shop the said they would bring them didn't turn up.

Went with family for a nice quick kebab dinner. The owner or main worker was so rude to his own staff, shouting at his staff infront of customers. All I could hear is his rude arrogant voice during the meal. Food was served quick and the chicken and lamb tikka were BURNT TO A CRISP. Black bitter bits in every mouthful of meat. My family and I had to leave it there and then. Walked out and ended up grabbing a bite elsewhere. Prices are high for what you get. I wont be going there again even if someone offered to pay for me. Nothing was nice beside a can of coke which was chilled. Awful experience.

Good food. Curries taste like authentic ones. Half kg karahi is not made with half kg of meat,its just a half kg portion. naan breads very nicely done, not too thick like some places do.overall it's alright

Visited today , charged £7.90 for a donner mix kebab , barely any salad or sauce and the donner was cold. Poor poor quality from an iconic place to eat. Never again ! For that price I can get a curry and Nan bread.
