Doner Shack in Manchester

I’m a huge doner lover, so you can imagine how excited I was to try Doner Shack! With a name like that, I assumed they’d be the experts, really taking doner to the next level. Plenty of other places serve doner as part of the menu, but I was thrilled that this place specialised in it. Unfortunately, my excitement didn’t last long. When my order arrived, the chips were cold, and the doner… well, it was also cold. But the temperature wasn’t even the biggest issue - the taste and texture of the doner were just awful. It had a strange flavour, and the texture was tough and chewy. Not at all what you’d expect from somewhere called “Doner Shack.” Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. This place should be a haven for doner lovers, but it’s more like Doner Lack! If you’re a true doner fan, you might want to skip this Shack and look elsewhere. Anyone who’s given this place 5 stars needs to get their taste buds checked!

Ordered the chicken tenders as part of a kids meal. Never seen anything like it, looks like it’s been microwaved 63 times. And yes it tasted as bad as it looked. Don’t understand how a place located in the centre of arndale is allowed to serve food like this.

Food wasn’t great but got a free donuts so it’s good

My first time ordering from this place didn't have any problems until i asked for no fries and was met with attitude. Questioning who hired her? Dont bother with the food no taste and very bland not to mention the price this place would be better if the staff member was nicer .

Excellent kebabs, lots of flavour and good value

Would highly recommend, we had the Shawarma Kebab and milkshakes it was amazing.

Food was overpriced, some of the kebab was tasteless

I wanted to leave a top review for this place in the Arndale as the lad working there today at lunch went above and beyond when serving my GF and I, making sure her gluten free allergy was completely catered for. He took it so seriously, giving her complete assurance there would be no cross contamination. The food was very nice too, great little place for a nice bit of donner and chips in the shopping centre, we definitely will return.

Found a fingernail in my donner kebab after seeing a worker biting her nails during a shift.

The shawarma box was lovely, well worth the tenner. £2.50 for a can is a bit daft though. Me and the Mrs left happy, would come again.

I love this place. The service always outstanding, the food always fresh, hot and served quickly. You can tell the staff care, they go out to chat and check with their customers, very professional approach, even when rushed off their feet. The new tenders though 😍

Food is top quality. Can't fault at all. 5 stars Little annoyed that they deliberately hide the prices of drinks, not displayed, There is no price on the receipt either, The bottle are tiny also. So basically, they charge what they want for water, don't tell you, and reduce the bottle size. Scam. They rely on stupid people ( like me ) to just not question it. For that reason, I'm putting 2 stars.

Food was brilliant and lovely costumer service

I remember when doner kebab meat used to be so awesome fat would dribble through it making it the most awesome, fattening, unhealthy yet most satisfying fast food in the world. Sadly move on some years and we get a donee kebab joint with delusions that they are McDonald's with touch screen ordering and a fast food system that kinda fails. Fiest ordering is relatively simple but when all but one screen in the store is working, it's tedious and annoying to line up while people take forever to place an order for one item. As you finally order and select "eat in" the system asks you for your table number, but guess what, that tables have no numbers. Our order Kebab and fries with cheesy sauce Kids chicken burger meal Couple of drinks The fries are shocking, portion size is generous, but there is no need to get a massive portion of over fried, cold, chewy and very unappealing fries. The cheese sauce is tangy, yep, tangy! The doner meat was average at best. The kids chicken burger was without question the single worst thing I have ever tasted in my life. My granddaughter complained it was hard, cold, chewy and she couldn't eat it, so I had to try it... she needs a medal for even managing to have one bite of that thing. The kids meal comes with a free ice cream, the waiter told us to let the counter know when we wanted it but when we asked we were confronted with 101 questions, including where our receipt was... bearing in mind the ordering system doesn't give you a receipt because it not working. After a few minutes the staff caved in and handed us a cup of ice cream, in hindsight we should have left it, say no more. The place is reasonable priced but needs some work on the food and service.

This place is incredible. Not normally a fan of wraps but the one I had here was godly. I would have taken a photo of the food but it was all gone before I had the chance!

Nice place for lunch or a casual dinner with friends and family. Nice food and quite generous portions. Quite pricey tho, but good quality meat. The drinks and the sides are expensive for their actual sizes. I'd recommend and I'd come back in future.

Use to really enjoy eatting here but since this change the menu isn't as good especially if your vegetarian/vegan, food wasn't the best/value for money, will probably be going else where till another change up then would try again.

Had a home delivery from here. Next to nothing on the donner wraps. Dry with no sauce and the meat tasted and looked old. Biscoff milkshakes had no cream or biscuit and no sauce just runny weak shakes. Will never use again

Yesterday night me and my family had food (donor kebab wrap ,chicken shawarma wrap and oreo and nutella milkshake. After reached home me and my husband has been sick like vomiting and bodypain. Today as well we has been vomiting. The service was good but when we asked for using toilet for my kids they didn’t allow. We took medicine for the food poisoning.

Absolutely juicy, mouth-watering, mouth-wrenching doner with explosions of vibrant flavours bursting in your mouth. If only I could give 6/5 stars, but can definitely see myself coming everytime i’m in arndale. Also amazing service by Courtney by giving us the teller even though it’s not on the new menu anymore.

Chicken as dry as the Sahara desert. Chips were cold. Lemon pepper chicken was non existent, no lemon, no pepper. The milkshakes were the only decent part of the meal. Poor quality of the meal may have been because we visited on a late Friday afternoon.
